581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Glenn Beck calls bitcoin Edison's light bulb! on: May 15, 2014, 04:15:38 PM
Edison did not invent the light bulb, and a lot of things that are credit to him are not his own invention but stolen ideas, but yes Glenn has some good points in his speech but the way he is presenting things is way to alarmist with a layer of conspiracy theory, so I guess people should take some of what he says with grain of salt

584  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which anime do you like to watch? on: May 15, 2014, 04:06:07 PM
I don't watch many animes nowadays since Ben 10 took my heart away (what's with the poetic language??) but I still like Ouran High school Host Club, Fate/Stay Night, Naruto (both the first one and Shippuden), and Yakitate Ja-pan

I watched that whole list excpect the food one I usually don't watch food anime, so I guess you stoped watching animes around 2008 more or less, it's similar to what I did my self, around that time I started watching less, but I used to watch tons of animes in the past, now is more like to keep with the new interesting ones
585  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is kraken.com a scam? on: May 14, 2014, 01:28:46 PM

my advise in future to never transfer 1800€+ during a one month periode
1st transfer of 1147 EUR was made in last week of February, and 2nd was made in 1st week of March (1289 EUR).

Which is 2436€ in less than 2 weeks. while you did the transfer in different calender month, there wasn't a one month period between the two transfers

They can't make a lot changes due to the rule policy, perhaps in the new season we might see something else.

Something is better than nothing Smiley

Actually Mercedes been testing an exhaust design that will allow a "boost" in terms sound, this is a technique that is used in turbocharged sport cars and supercars such as the Pagani Huyara for example

The correct term is eSports yes. Sports is not just about doing body intensive things such as soccer, tennis, skiing, swimming and such.
But I know that long ranked games can get tiring in League of Legends.

Indeed LoL doesn't require as intensif physical effort as most of the famous sports, but there are games that require physical strenght, sc2 for example at the professional requires 300-400 average APM during a game than can last over an hours sometimes while making chess level decisions on a fraction of a second basis and also if you take the problem the other way around there are sports that doesn't require much physical effort, such as chess or archery or shooting

The thing here is that the medium is different hence the E
I played ranked from time to time in Silver and Gold, even that can be tiring sometimes. I get tired from it, I just wonder how much a competition would make me exhausted.

They do put the effort as any sportsmen on any other sport, they train 12-16hours a day (on korean team hourses) and a minimum of 8-10hours for foreigners) at those conditions, under strict coaching and management, there are long terms chanpionships like proleague, but the usual tournament are held in 2-3days during weekends, and the players has to play the whole day, competing against the best to get to the top and sometimes they are playing for 100k$ +

I don't think there is a need to bring the asteroids into the Earth's atmosphere to mine them.

But, it looks like the main company that was seriously looking into doing this has decided to go in a different direction for now:

isn't there a different source for this article it is asking for a log in to be able to read the whole article

Anyway http://www.planetaryresources.com/ was the project and it's still underway from what I'm seeing
591  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's wrong with eating meat? on: May 13, 2014, 07:45:05 PM
Fish is meat, fish is an animal and fish (the dish) is flesh like red or white meat, fish is composed of proteins like other meats, well is it exactly the same as red meat?, no it isn't, it is as different as white meat is different from red meat. Preferring it over red meat? this can be legitimate and should be respected, but eating an animal and being vegetarian doesn't sound correct to me tho

But anyway, is anything wrong with eating meat? No nothing is wrong as long as it is not abused like with everything eating the necessary quantities of meat is as important as eating the necessary quantities of different vegetables to achieve a balanced diet, our bodies requires different elements in different quantities, and people saying otherwise on this thread are just spouting stupidity and hopefully will see the light instead of arguing just for the sake of arguing.

I can understand and respect, that some vegetarians don't eat meat, because it reminds them of the animals they came from and can't support imagining them being killed, and this should be respected, but from there to say being purely vegetarian is better to health or makes you more intelligent or whatever is perfect none sense

593  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is kraken.com a scam? on: May 13, 2014, 03:08:56 PM
Kraken is scam. They have defrauded me 2436 EUR total. I made 2 transfers over 2 months ago. The receiving bank returned the transfers back due they don't like Bitcoin. After several support tickets and emails, after a month ago i got this response below from Kraken. A month passed, waited weeks and emailed them about the status, and there is no response. Last week i wrote every day, still no response. I believe my money has been defrauded by Kraken. My email wording was very polite and friendly. They simply do not response. I have taken another support ticket, also no response. I don't know what to do else.

Sophia clearly confirms the receipt of both transfer by Fidor bank a month ago. But no funds in my account and NO RESPONSE from Kraken any more.

This is scam. I'll update here if this issue gets resolved.

Bank.  Fidor Bank has acknowledged that the withdrawals were returned, and
I have requested that they credit your Kraken account with the returned
withdrawals immediately.  I will confirm with you once I
receive an update from the bank.  Thanks so much for your patience as we
work to resolve this issue.

Sad to hear that you had such an incident with them, I can tell you that I didn't get a single issue with Kraken so far, but you should be carefull with the amount of money you are transfering from and to your bank unless you have a "professional/commercent license" (name is different in each country), my advise in future to never transfer 1800€+ during a one month periode as your bank has a legal obligation to verify and sent the origin of the transaction to money control organism of your country

Why there aren't any other sources of this news, sounds to me like a troll anyway, but the idea in it self (without the neo nasi references) sounds cool to me

well every region has their own games that people their prefer like star craft in japan , Call of duty in america and europe , fifa everywhere ,, i live in Pakistan and here the future of Pro gaming is increasing day by day as more and more players are entering and more and more tournaments are being arranged , so future is bright for Pro gaming

Japan is the land of fighting games, Korea is the land of starcraft, sc2 is more international, while china is the land of warcraft3 but nowadays league and dota are the thing there

actually japan is transfering to mobile at full speed, not some much room for console and handheld.fighting games along with arcade games r dying.slowly though.

korea is also catching up on LOL now with their highly advanced professional system.Check the recent Allstar 2014 and u will know they r dominating this game just like starcraft.

Japan had always a thing for mobile game and mobile usage in general, but I'm talking from an eSport perspective, and Japanese are well known and have pro circuits for fighting games like streetfighter, as for Korea, yeah LoL is catching up and it will pass SC2 since Kespa is embracing it and the audience should be bigger due to the nature of the game, but what definined korean esport and what made Kespa a thing is starcraft ^^

I think you should think Blockchain when you are talking about bitcoin, and the blockchain system can be used for many thing, think Internet 2.0 (what internet was 1990 and what it is now) .

I know that this doesn't answer your question precisely, but I think if someone had such a precise answer he would already been working on making it to something real by now
598  Other / Off-topic / Re: eSports: The Future Of Pro Gaming? on: May 11, 2014, 08:05:14 PM
The main thing to remember is it's just a fucking game, if people want to organise competitions and stuff that's their business, I don't see why there's a need to turn it into a thing with lots of money involved.

At the end isn't every "SPORT" is a game in incense, you don't play a game of football, or a game of tennis ?....ect, I believe what makes a game of a thing a sport, is when you have a couple of important things involved, such professional sportmen that trains everyday being it physically mentally or both to achieve the results, when these guys makes solely a living out of it, and when you have organizations that are involved, when you have rules and regulations .......ect ect, and all these apply to eSport

"E-sports" lol. I know there's a lot of skill involved, but they're not sports or athletes.
This is a total misconception, and if you look at the list of official sports there and the requirement to those, you can easily categories these games and especially the way they are played at the professional level as esport

Sandisk announces 4TB SSD, hopes for 8TB next year.

"We see reaching the 4TB mark as really just the beginning and expect to continue doubling the capacity every year or two, far outpacing the growth for traditional HDDs," Manuel Martull, SanDisk's product & solutions marketing director, stated in an email reply to Computerworld.

http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9248070/SanDisk_announces_4TB_SSD_hopes_for_8TB_next_year

I saw this a couple of weeks ago, which good news, but HDD will stay here for years to come
SSD Prices are rediculously expensive
SSD life cycle is way shorter than HDD (in perfect condition that is, this can swing rapidly toward SSD in some use conditions) and also these high density SDDs with lower costs have by default a lower endurance and life cycle
