81  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitstamp Support is ignoring me on: August 11, 2017, 03:43:38 PM
Bitstamp doesn't really have a reputation for having a terrible support system, when compared to an exchange like Yobit. So this is a little surprisingly to me especially when all the other exchanges have constantly been in trouble but i haven't seen much complaints regarding bitstamp.

I can tell why you're disgruntled, since the price of bitcoin has gone up subsatntially in the 9 days that you have deposited.

As far as i know they do not have any sort of communication outside of email, support tickets, or contacting admin via linkedin which you have all tried. All you can do is wait, and hope that a temporary dip in price can come. Unfortunately this is how it works, and they probably won't compensate for the losses. Why didn't you complete KYC before you deposited such a large amount? Or are they just asking you again and again?

Actually the main reason I am furious is the fact they are ignoring me.
The blocked deposit is not a big issue, because it is for less than 10K eur.
But my trading volume for the last month is close to 400K usd and I got close to 100K in fiat, so you can appreciate how I feel when the company I am trusting with my money is not replying to my tickets.

I have been verified for a long time and only when I made this deposit they asked these questions. I wasn't even aware they do that.
So instead of having a healthy business relationship I am being ignored.

I am having a similar issue with bitstamp myself, please keep this thread updated.
What is your story?

82  Economy / Service Discussion / FRAUD WARNING: Bitstamp is holding my money hostage and ignoring me for 14 days on: August 11, 2017, 03:37:05 AM
Made a deposit of less than 10K euros and got the usual KYC list of excessive questions, which I promptly replied to.
Since then complete silence, which is now 9 days.
9 days with no reply.

Their customer support is completely inadequate for the types of customers you are serving.
They cannot run an extremely time sensitive trading business and not match it with the same level of support. It just doesn't make sense when dealing with large volumes of currency.
I feel that trying to complaint to Bitstamp will have the same result as screaming in the middle of a forest - I won't be heard and nothing will change.

At this point I am furious as they are holding my money hostage and completely ignoring me.

In these circumstances I feel forced to file an official complaint with the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier in Luxembourg in line with their Out-of-court complaint resolution service.
Additionally based on the excessive and unreasonable level of questioning I feel inclined to also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office as you are registered as a DATA controller with them.

But I would rather talk with them and resolve this.
I emailed the CEO + sent him a message on Linkedin = nothing

Anyone has any suggestions?

WTF is happening?

Are you having performance issues or what?

I am so glad I got out of the mining game and managed to do it at the correct time.

Btw what is the current lowest price for GH/s for a complete product and have we reached the point where the electricity cost has surpassed the mining revenue?

It's getting there if you have expensive electricity.

Antminer S3+, $210 USD, 450 GH/s

income = $2/day
electricity@$.15/kwh = $1.25/day.

I'm not growing my farm now, but the income and spare heat is quite nice this winter.

These attract VAT+duty when imported in the EU, so the total comes around 250USD. Then you need a PSU, so let's say 30USD more.
Total = 280USD

Basically these will never see break even.
Here in the UK these will bring 0.30GBP profit daily  Shocked

this.

we should be seeing a far bigger drop in difficulty than we are. however, from what I see across these forums, there seems to be even more new miners than there was last year at this point. insane.
the only reason I still have 8TH/s running is because my electric is free. If it wasn't for that, I doubt very much i'd have such 'confidence in the price of bitcoin'

 Undecided

I don't think we will see a very big drop in difficulty, because mining has moved from the home of the average person to large industrial data centres where they pay cheap electricity rates.
So these mining companies are still very much profitable.

Hey guys/gals(if any), shipping of the Neppy's is nearing ever so closely..has anyone done the mining calculations? one of my friends has 4 Neppy's incoming batch 2(order #180XX), he is pretty upset now because after doing his mining calculations he told me he would be lucky to mine 30BTC by Dec 2014 with all 4 Neps hashing away, is this true Huh? can anyone elaborate with possibly some calculations from more seasoned mining veterans?

~Thanks

93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Help me add my Bitcoin related activities on my resume/CV on: June 22, 2014, 01:39:23 PM
So I am updating my Resume/CV and would need some help on what is the best way to add my mining, trading and ASIC reselling activities on my CV, so that it looks great to any potential future employer. Do you think that is a good idea?

I want to add it under Employment history, but can't think of a way to add all 3 activities under one section.
Also how best to describe it with words, so that it sounds really appealing.
Someone came with the "Cryptographic Systems Administrator" in another topic for Bitcoin Mining which sounds great, but maybe too pompous?

Shall I put Bitcoin Miner, Bitcoin Trader and Bitcoin ASIC Reseller under one section with a common title or maybe create 3 as it is easier to describe each activity better.

Any views are much appreciated. Thanks.

KNC now bigger than Elegius, catching up to BTCGuild...

95  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 750 GH/s - 3TH/s Miners from $3565 - www.bitcoinultra.co.uk on: June 21, 2014, 10:41:53 PM
I suspect they are out of business as they tried to bite more than they can chew.

I ordered 4 of their Enigmas, which arrived a day late and had major problems:

1 - All 4 of them had 4 loose screws rattling inside.
2 - All 4 had the unstable blade construction that can be seen in this video: http://youtu.be/XyHVqRVM1Mc
3 - The extension cables were the 8 pin CPU type instead of the advertised PCI-E type + they looked like they could easily catch fire. I got one to produce smoke + one ground cable got out of the crimp.
4 - 3 miners have both fans mounted as intake.
5 - There was no web interface present, just 2 shell scripts to run via SSH, which did not work.

Of all 4 miners 2 were completely dead, 1 had 2 blades working and 1 had all blades working.

Fortunately the company realized they sold substandard miners and refunded my money after I returned them.
Then they said they will be working on improving the design and will soon give me a free miner to keep if I do a full review on it and pass on my recommendations, which never happened.
Now nobody is answering the phone on their website, which I believe is diverted to the mobile number of the main guy, who I've been communicating with.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 21, 2014, 07:06:44 PM

The only reason I didn't refund my $10k was both cloud hashing and the second Neptunes.

If this is true! Cancel my cloud hashing!

I regret not refunding, I'll never make my money back at this point.

I didn't ask for refund because of the same reasons as yours. Even though it is difficult to get back the refund with both cloud hashing and second neptune, I treated KnC's previous announcements as a positive sign to care for the customers. I didn't expect they will f--- the customers like this!

I don't get it. You can still refund Monday if you like, so why don't you? It may take a few weeks, but KnC will always honor refund requests as long as you make the request before the item ships.

Not really. From their point of view once they start shipping en masse all refund request are to be denied.
It doesn't matter if yours is still to be shipped or not.
Another thing that makes them huge assholes.

Just out of curiosity, what is the latest drama you are all discussing? 50K donation? What happened?
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 20, 2014, 10:29:28 PM
Just ordered 4x Antminers S2 for 9.741 BTC
So 2.436BTC per 1TH/s

A bold move...did you have some before? I had a somewhat flaky first unit that refused to handle all 10 boards (9 were fine).
Still, $5800 for 4th now instead of $10K-13.2k for 3th now plus 3th in 1.5-2mo
A bargain  Wink

I expect the announcement of a super duper franken jup with 10 boxes ≥5-6Th for $6K once batch 3 is done.
maybe 20 boxes for low low $10999  Grin

Well, I expect that all problems associated with the S2 are cleared by batch 4, right?

We expect to ship to Batch 1 pre-order customers this week and to Batch 2 pre-order customers before the end of the month

Well done KNC, you managed to ship all of Batch 1 this week as promised (i.e. Elenelen's rig).

Next week you will ship all of Batch 2 as promised (i.e. jelin's rig)

Cheesy

I still don't understand your logic. Is the joke that there are not a lot of orders due to refunds or something else?

Because when you take all the BS away and present facts, I see:

Goal:

3 TH/s Neptune by June 31st (Q2)

Outcome:

3.3 TH/s Neptune delivered June 20

Power draw .6w/GH

They literally delivered exactly what they said they would.

Additionally, aren't people getting another miner for free as well? (I may be wrong)

They promised 1 month mining for CA Batch 1, before shipping CA Batch 2, so one way or another some of their customers would be disadvantaged.
And let's not start on the "We are not going to mine with more than 5% of what we sell" and killing the difficulty.

I should review your previous posts took longer than saying,

Yes, you really should have.

All is working and running now for nearly 4 hours un interrupted: 15 minutes average is 3.3 Ths.  Pool is telling the same.
Considering that it can only become better forward, it's OK.

I did, and I was still confused...sue me.

666GH/s per Cube = 3.3TH/s total at 475Mhz

At 500Mhz the Titan might theoretically hash at 3.5TH/s
With just one PCI-E connector I somehow feel 500Mhz is the maximum.
It was probably done on purpose, so if you want to get higher clocks you need to solder extra wires = invalidate warranty.
