No replies same question.

COUNTING PEOPLE WITH FAULTY UNITS/PROBLEMS:
1) retard The Avenger
2) CYPHER
3) FUKT
4) timmmers?
5) Puppet
6) ...*please continue the list*

I did try everything that was posted anywhere:
1 - Try 1 board at a time
2 - Increase temps inside
3 - Flash all firmwares + enablecores

And I am yet to get an answer from KNC if the problem is of pure hardware nature or it can be fixed by a new firmware. And I need to know that so I can decide if and when to RMA.

Btw I don't expect to get any resolution here. I'm just using this space to vent my frustration and dissatisfaction with KNC.
I've tried my best to be reasonable over the phone and was practically begging the guy to step in my shoes for a while and realize that sending the boards back is adding insult to injury with the 2 weeks delay I had.
I know they can organize an advanced RMA - it's not rocket science. They just don't want to for reasons, which are not genuine.

And another one. Let's see how fast they respond:

Quote
In regards to all the boards that have a failed die:

1 - Are you still not aware what is causing the problem?
2 - If you know what is the causing the problem is it purely a hardware issue?
3 - If it's a software issue are your engineers working on a new firmware that is going to fix it?

Thank you.

I just sent this to Customer support. Let's see how vaguely they will respond:

Quote
Hello,

I have some questions in regards to November orders:

1 - When do you start shipping them?
2 - What is the latest date you can guarantee to ship all Novembers orders by?
3 - If I order tomorrow when will my order be shipped?
4 - In order to better plan my purchase and be able to make an informed decision can you please tell me how many orders for November shipping have been made so far?
1024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 07, 2013, 07:23:07 PM
When 90% of ALL your posts are only in this topic it's obvious that you have an agenda here
Yes, my agenda is that I placed an order with knc and that was my focus. I don't post in the hashfast thread because I don't have a hashfast order. I don't post in the cointerra thread because I don't have a cointerra order. etc. Why is that hard for you to compute? I don't post in the BFL threads because I don't have a BFL order. You getting it now?

Was your order delivered or cancelled?
Delivered. Faulty. If they cancelled and gave me my money back, believe me, I wouldn't be here. I'd be counting my lucky stars.

Completely faulty and they refused to refund?

Bunch of blind classics.... piss, Moan & whine....  You can all kiss my shiny white Jupiter. I bought a November Jupiter, and am hoping to squeeze in another order before they stop taking Nov. orders....
and here are the doofuses talking about Refunds. If my investment can double itself in hashpower in just 21 days I'm ahead of the game...
I'll be pissing on the smart-ass comments, just like 2 months ago when BFL_Josh's bandwagon was telling me I would "Most assuredly be disappointed".
It's like the deaf leading the blind sometimes in here.
You will be kickin' yourselves in the arse for not getting more hashpower when BTC is at 2 grand....
Laugh at me all you want.
The trolls who told me I'd never ROI are just......just.....
(use your imagination)

I'm sorry, were you expecting 100% satisfaction rate?
Did you ever consider that maybe there are people who are unhappy about KNC in some way or another?
Do you not comprehend why there are such people?

Name a company that did better......

Phoenix1969, you seem like a rational guy, yet you seem to miss the point here.
If you get bad service from a company (not necessarily an ASIC company) do you compare your experience to an even worse company and feel better?
I've said it before: once people stop comparing KNC to the worst in the ASIC industry and start comparing them to the best they can be only then you can truly appreciate how good or bad they are.
1027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 07, 2013, 12:34:53 PM
GOX just hit $305.00!

Hey for those that are bitching about ROI. Guess what. with bitcoin going up your machine has a better % of making that roi.. glee imagine that.  Shocked

Mt.Gox: Last price:$295.00 High:$309.99 Low:$255.55 Volume:56356 BTC Weighted Avg:$275.74

Wow thank you KNCMiner for making sure the exchange rate increased. Now I don't feel so bad about the 2 weeks delay for which I missed on around 20BTC  Roll Eyes
1028  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: November 07, 2013, 02:49:40 AM
Bitstamp has higher price than MTGox  Shocked  Cheesy

Now is the time to move your BTC over without any loss Smiley
1029  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 07, 2013, 02:24:47 AM
1. They've always answered my emails, and were friendly & informative.
calls too, even a conference skype call
2. Even 2 weeks late (Best in industry) is @ 60% ROI in 20 days(My original order)
3. A November Jupiter could mean I receive the device within 3 weeks or less from now.
4. My order number is 101XX
5. As far as I know, they still plan on shipping November 15th, there has been no indication otherwise.
6.  I'm Super stoked.

You seem to be on the exact opposite end of the KNC satisfaction spectrum, which is perfectly normal when you are at 60% ROI  Smiley

Just one advise: send them an email and ask what is the latest date you order is expected to ship by and see what they reply. I would be interested in their answer too.
1030  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: November 07, 2013, 12:33:57 AM
One of my clients sent me a pic of his mine.  All of the rigs are mounted in my mining trays (with tops).

The GPUs are all 7950 Radeons (mostly MSI Twin Frozrs).   Max hash is currently at around 73MH.

Box fan cooling FTW!   Grin

I think that standing air condition helps... Just a smidge. Wink

are those 4 7950s each to make 80 cards in total? IF so you're avg 912 ish MH per card:

A) how did you do that?
B) how much was the cost of the entire Setup including COOLING
C) how long ago was this built?  I put the general presumption of 1200 W psu and 24000 Watts constantly from those 20 satellite machines.  That is a 57 dollar a day power bill WOW.

[My calculations put it at just under 26K such that:
(HD,Mem,Processor@ $90 1200W PSU @ $179 4 7950s@$900 Mobo@$90 Misc Cost@$5+ Structure,AC,Monitors, Network Components @$20 per machine approximately)*20 units]

Using coinwarz the median number seems to be around 340 dollars per day if you were to cancel out the crazy outlier days, I see ROI in Approximately 77 Days so...WOW!

I see 5 cards per machine, so around 100 in total + maybe a little bit more at the end there.
1031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 07, 2013, 12:31:55 AM
Are you guys kidding?
I was contemplating a November Jupiter...
and went thru the numbers, and made all the predictions in my usual way, and I came to the conclusion, that a November Jupiter is definitely worth it, and spent the 17.6 BTC, of my 27BTC I made in the first 20 days, to order it moments ago....
And I'm stoked about it...
Think about it...
The November units may even deliver before HF & CT get their act together!

Are you not worried that you have absolutely no information how many units have been ordered so far and how far in the payment queue you are?
Are you not worried that you should have that information in order to be able to make an informed decision, but you don't because KNC is withholding it?

Btw do you mind sending them an email requesting it and see what they reply.
We have too little information regarding November orders:
1 - Final date to deliver all orders? (not that it is expected from them to honour it)
2 - How many units have been ordered so far? - Care to share your order number?
3 - What date do they start shipping (the sooner, the better for you and worse for me and other late October deliveries).
1032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 06, 2013, 11:58:51 PM
I'd love to scam a couple of modules and turn my Saturn into a Jupiter! Smiley

Does Bitcoinorama work for KNC? Or just a large buyer?

If KNC set a high BTC deposit that would not be possible.

He does work for them, but he seems to participate here out of good will and not in his official capacity Wink
1033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 06, 2013, 11:29:49 PM

Sorry Bitcoinorama, but I have disagree with this return policy and the line of reasoning. Lots of companies ship out advance replacement parts with a credit card security deposit, no questions asked. It's flat out lazy for KnC to stick to their guns on this policy and I highly suggest that they revise it for the future.

For the most part, KnC managed to rise above the competitors - why not listen to your customers and go the extra mile? For a company that managed to get it 90% right, it sort of seems complacent and myopic to not want to improve the areas where there is definitely needed improvement.

There are many of us that will want to order from KNC again and improving the customer service would really lock in customer loyalty.

I am yet to hear a plausible explanation of why KNC do not want to use such form of RMA, apart from discouraging people to RMA.
It's the equivalent of my bank telling me: oh we can't accept money as a security deposit.

And it seems I am not the only one thinking it.

OMG, really?  It has been explained, but I will to it again.

You are waiting for your miner.  I have my miner, but want more boards (turn my Saturn into a Jupiter).  I "game" the system by pretending to RMA my boards, pre-pay & all so they send them to me _but_...

... I never had bad boards, I just fooled them into selling me 2 more and effectively jumped in front of you in line.

Get it?

Thank you KnC for not allowing this to happen.

Smiley

1 - I have Jupiters and even if I get new boards I have no place to put them on.
2 - KNC can request a high BTC deposit per board in order to discourage people from doing what you described. Would you pay 15BTC per board and then keep them?

1035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dear KnC on: November 06, 2013, 11:08:38 PM
I can count the number of people that have (Serious) issues with KnC on one hand.

I'm talking about the people that are on here every day hooting and hollering about how bad of a company KnC is because of this and that.

Having 5 Disgruntled customers out of ~8,000 units shipped isn't so bad.

While I'm aware there are more issues than this, it seems the majority of customers are getting fixed by Firmware or their RMAs seem to be working.

Do you think I want to be one of those 5 people? Do you think there is any benefit to anyone that these 5 people exist?
I would have rather had my miners on the 15th or at least 2-3 days later, than expressing my negative views here. It was KNC poor planning or whatever other reason they are comfortable quoting.
And it's not like I was expecting to have my miners on the same days as Day 1 and 2 orders. I was comfortable having them 20 days after the 1st shipments were made, but they managed to stretch that into a 1 month delivery process without any concern of how the customers who ordered last would feel.

While I was impatiently waiting day after day to get some news I called numerous times expressing my concerns about the delay and enquiring about any possible compensation - both Liam and Keith were seemingly understanding and told me again both of them that they have forwarded that to Sam, who had responded that they will come up with something.
Today I was told rather directly with no right of appeal that no compensation will be given whosoever.

Are some people getting paid to talk positive about KNC?

Only Bitcoinorama hopefully.
In regards to Bargraphics I completely understand his point of view as he seems happy with what he got and why wouldn't he when he got some fat compensation + he already broke even. Who wouldn't be happy and talk good about KNC. I know I would if I was in same position as he is Tongue

But guys (i don't know how to say in english but I try, maybe someone can undestand it) look into yourself and a bit use your brain. What he got on the phone is the raw truth.

Back in june we paid a lot of money in 7 days for an unkown company. And the whole story now is only history....

I am not going to argue over that, but you don't tell any customer that. It's unprofessional and repulsive.
1036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 06, 2013, 07:26:12 PM
What happened to you was deplorable. Hopefully the exchange rate will compensate you.

That's what I am hoping for too. Yet it will not remove the bad after-taste from missing on a huge percentage of all the Bitcoins I will ever mine, because of poor planning on their part and the obvious and blatant segregation of customers in terms of achieved hashing speeds.
I was even told directly over the phone that my status as a customer was less important compared to those who ordered in June/July, because I didn't help them fund the initial costs. What kind of a company says that to a customer  Huh
1037  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 06, 2013, 07:16:52 PM
Can someone verify that the address I was given to return the module to is correct?
According to a manager at UPS International, this is not a valid address.

KnCMiner
Birger Jarlsgatan 33
11145 Stockholm
Sweden

That is the exact same address I was given too.
1038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 06, 2013, 07:14:58 PM
It puzzles me how companies like KNC can spout all this commitment to the bitcoin economy, and not see that the bedrock of that economy is the ability for someone to mine the coins economically....and also the future of their business. People won't be back to lose another shitload of money in return for creating the coins to make the system work, funding the dev of the rigs...and being the only ones likely to not make anything.

Exactly my thought.
I had friends and relatives asking me about what I am doing and listening with interest when I explain to them what Bitcoin is and wanting to invest a lot of money too, completely trusting me with the decision.
I was going to tell to to buy from KNC eventually. I was...
1039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 06, 2013, 06:52:45 PM

As for bar, please don't make yourself look silly providing really weak and easily countered excuses you come up with off the top of your head.   There is nothing to "game".  A customer could not order and claim to or they could order and claim they never got the product.  OH NOES ordering stuff can be gamed I guess KNC will stop selling products.  KNC deals with the "risk" of being gamed on orders but can't on RMA.

If I recall correctly, the 'game' that KnC was supposed to be avoiding was this:  Say you have a Saturn, and want to upgrade it to a Jupiter.  You could complain to KnC that both the boards in your Saturn are underperforming to the point that they deserve a replacement (or are just broken).  They ship you two replacement boards immediately after you send your "security payment".  Then you just keep the boards, thereby bypassing any queue waiting on upgrades (or avoid the total nonexistence of such, as of this writing).

I am not trying to justify KnC's RMA practices - I feel sure they ought to be able to find a way to work around this 'gaming'...  I'm just pointing out what I think the game is that they are trying to avoid.

Then they can request more BTC than these boards are worth. I was willing to send them even 30BTC for an advanced replacement, but they just refused it.
1040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 06, 2013, 06:44:16 PM
I understand that you don't want to lose money while it is being RMA'd and they should as a company send some sort of compensation per Board that is sent back in based on current difficulty. This will be the only part that I agree with.

Thank you. For a moment I was made to think I am crazy among sane to expect no downtime with such equipment.

BFSB did advance RMA for me, in exchange for a bitcoin deposit. Went flawless, for both. This isn't a big thing to do, but extraordinary well received by customers, especially in the time-critical ASIC-Business.

To cherish the idea of bitcoin and one of its main advantages, fast transfer of values, it would be an easy win for both KNC and their customers to establish a comfortable RMA process.

RMA request -> bitcoin deposit -> delivery of replacement item -> return of faulty item -> reception and verification -> release deposit.

win-win, easy-easy

It makes you wonder how a company whose business revolves around Bitcoin, refuses to use Bitcoin as a security in order to minimize customer's downtime.

It's a standard back to base warranty.

What your suggesting is a total ball-ache.

You then need to block trace every payment, which become entirely more convoluted and confusing for customer service.

Keep it simple. Ship it, can you fix it?  or is it something more involved? in which case ship a replacement - get it out the door as soon as poss.

If Redacted wants to share his original tracking code, and is happy with us sharing the return code - you'll see for yourself - turn around the same day.

You make it sound like the most complicated thing in the world, when in fact it is a trivial job when you pay enough people to do it.
But like I said: if you don't want to do something you make excuses.
