801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Storing altcoins? on: September 06, 2017, 11:24:24 AM
Where do you guys store ur altcoins. I have a list on Bittrex that i just want to keep longterm (smart move?):

Lisk
Omg
Zencash
Ubiq
Ark
Radium
Monaco
Monero
Siacoin
Gulden

Do i have to manually create a wallet for each of m?

When you're dealing with multiple coins, your best bet is to use a trusted exchange to store your coins as it would be a reduce the hassles of having to download all the wallets and carrying out transactions. I would recommend Poloniex or Bittrex as long as you're not storing huge amounts.
802  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Almost All Cryptocurrency have fallen on: September 05, 2017, 04:21:22 AM
Haven't seen anything which made the value of BTC go down by almost $1000 after the recent all time high of $5000 that it reached. The Chinese, Korean and private Russian investors are almost completely forbidden from contributing to ICOs and this move is resulting in absolute chaos in the crypto marketplace.
IMO, this would only be affecting altcoins which are undergoing ICO stage and the big players like Bitcoin and Ethereum will be back on track in a few days.
803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is no more ICO's on: September 05, 2017, 04:16:53 AM
Not only China but even powerhouses like Russia and Korea have followed suite with the ICO ban. This is very bad news for all the legitimate ICOs as major investing players were from China and Russia. More altcoins are sure to resurface after this but will need more than just an ICO to get started which seems to be very difficult in this crypto world with the amount of different come out there.
804  Economy / Services / Re: Jibrel Network Signature Campaign(FULL) on: September 05, 2017, 04:02:36 AM
Damn that was fast, woke up to see the balance already reflecting in my account.
Thanks as always yahoo, lightning fast management.
805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you even gamble? on: September 04, 2017, 04:41:19 PM
I gamble solely because I want to beat the house and make profit. There are a lot of reasons that others have about gambling but I think hunk everyone apart from those reasons also wish to make some profits.
You know that this is mathematically impossible in the long run, right? Casinos are built on solid ground - gamblers are always at disadvantage playing.
The more you will play the more chances you will have to lose your money. The best option for those who want to beat the house is to win once and then never come back.

Winning once and never returning is definitely the ideal case scenario but does everyone get away with this? I think not.
The fact that gambling sites are made to literally lure users into profit and then make them lose their entire balance is the main concept here. It's completely normal for this to happen but the ones that don't return to gamble after making a profit are the real winners.
806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Excellent buying opportunity, today at least -15% discount on: September 04, 2017, 04:31:57 PM
A majority of these coins are in the top 70 list because they've made a stand in their own way in the market. While a good chunk of these altcoins are great investments at this moment, I still believe the highest dominating coins by market cap will overshadow the ones behind them.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: September 04, 2017, 02:01:31 PM
Finally, Indian wins the 5 match ODI series Five-nil. Beginning with Test whitewash and then followed by ODI whitewash and obviously first time ever in their home ground. Congrats, Virat Kohli's for 30th ODI century and Kumar maiden five wicket haul.
Yes it's great series win from India because of India has won 5 match out off 5 match. It's make Indian team be come more comfortable level for upcoming matchs. but Sri Lankan team have to build good team because after some senior players are retirements. there no player find to replace for that place.

Winning against weak team like Sri Lanka is not a big deal and your skills will be tested when you will play against the best teams of the world as India has not won any big tournament after 2013 Champions Trophy and if they want to prove themselves then they need to win in major tournaments.

Agreed with you, at the moment Sri Lankan team is very weak and it could not be considered as huge victory for Indian team. But after the white wash in the test and one day series, Indian team is much more confident and their morale is really high. India is scheduled to play 5 ODI and 3 T20s against Australia and the series will be started on 17 Sep 2017; it will be real test for Indian team to beat the Australian team.

It won't be hard for India to defeat Australia in India as they will have an advantage of home conditions and also the support from fans and recently India defeated Australia in Test Series which was held in India and the potential of Indian team will be tested when they go abroad.

India have much better team than Lankan.most the the srilankan player are new to international cricket as compared to india. they have well established team.

If you're talking about a 'well established' Indian team, you didn't take time to notice that the whole team was undergoing changes throughout the series giving chances to new faces like Yuzvinder Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav and the debutant Shardul Thakur. Sri Lanka had very underwhelming performances, that too on home soil and this was the bigger factor leading to the whitewash.
808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best (safest) way to store BitCoin for the longer term? on: September 04, 2017, 01:47:15 PM
As an upgrade from paper, you can make your own metal backup so it's Water/Fire-proof. Should last a lot longer. Just just posted about this yesterday and made a short guide whilst experimenting over the weekend:

https://pinode.weebly.com/hardened-cold-storage.html

Good fun and easy to do if you like afternoon projects.

Commercialy products like "cryptosteel" exist in the US

Only if you're not good enough to keep the paper wallet safely but this looks like an amazing idea. The fact that one puts in time to make a backup like this tells so much about the person and their safety concerns. Either ways this is a good way to backup the paper wallet.
809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The END of ICO's? on: September 04, 2017, 01:43:52 PM
It should've been a financial concern for all countries that more and more ICOs were coming into the scene and this was bound to happen sooner or later. A country's money going into the pockets of 'altcoin' developers when some of them remain to stay anonymous (*cough* DeepOnion *cough*) becomes an issue for any country. To have a check on this, rules and regulations are being set to make sure things don't go out of hand, not to mention the multiple scam ICOs which ran away with tons of money.
810  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why now is the time to invest in Bitcoin on: September 03, 2017, 05:19:17 AM
Lots of people predicted that Bitcoin would be demolished by the occurrence of the hard fork. The fact that BTC not only survived the fork but went skyrocketing in value in the weeks to follow. This kind of makes it an unstoppable force which could never be hindered by other altcoins or future forks.
811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to build a decentralised Facebook? on: September 03, 2017, 05:14:52 AM
It would be hard to run the idea of a decentralised social network as it would need a lot of things in place for the project to lift off. There's already a decentralised social network named 'Social' with a marketplace platform called Nexus. You can see the progress and developments of this project to see if it's going to work out.
812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain applied to Healthcare on: September 02, 2017, 02:07:40 PM
Looking like a thread which will be shilled upon but I'll answer the original question. I've seen a coin called Care4Me which directly connects healthcare services through blockchain technology for faster solutions.
There are more than just one but I just picked this as I've read all about it and thought it would account for easily accessible healthcare solutions.
813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to start an successful ico on: September 02, 2017, 12:29:05 PM
To answer the title in a simple way, you just put up everything you have to offer with your token and that is what would attract investors to contribute in your ICO. The investors who look into your project and find potential in it are the ones who would make the ICO successful.
Other than this, be sure to use an escrow at the time of the ICO so the investors are sure they're not putting their money in a runaway scam.
814  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are fees going so high? on: September 02, 2017, 12:24:59 PM
The main reason for the surge in transaction fees is due to the fact that Bitcoin is getting highly popular and it's price reaching new highs very often. When the amount being transacted is high, the party will often throw in high fees so it gets confirmed within the next block and when there are more and more transactions being piled up, the txs with higher fees will obviously be included in the next blocks by miners.
815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When to dump shitcoin? on: September 02, 2017, 05:18:38 AM
I put some $ into a coin a couple of months ago. And since then it's gone down a lot and stayed down. A deadline for a project update was recently met and advertised but the coin didn't even bump up. If I got out now I would lose about 20% of my initial investment.

How do you decide when it's time to dump a coin for a loss? I don't need the money but i see these other coins going up and i keep thinking about the opportunity cost of having my $ sitting in the shitcoin.

With your situation here, if you believe the coin could still pull off a miracle with any sorts of project implementations from the devs, you could consider holding for a longer term.
If that isn't the case, then search for the highest possible price during the week.
816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can you save money while playing gambling games? on: September 01, 2017, 01:39:12 PM
Honestly there's no saving when it comes down to gambling, you either win or lose. Of course winning could be considered 'being saved'.
For me, when I play dice game, I usually have preset profit marks at which I keep transferring small amounts like 100k satoshis to my alternate account and keep doing this till I'm done for the night. Usually doing this will save me from losing all my balance and I call this my 'save'.
817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Three coins on: September 01, 2017, 01:19:12 PM
For me it would be XRP, Waves and ZCash in no particular order as I've got my money into these coins currently and see good potential in their roadmaps.
Other than these, honourable mentions go out to XMR and Byteball.
818  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So I sold my BCC ... on: September 01, 2017, 01:13:21 PM
They forked BTC and made BCC.  This means I had some BCC I never paid for, so I just put it in an exchange and brought some BTC with it.  Now, I only had 0.3 BTC but there must be with loads who have a darn sight more and who got a LOT of BCC for nothing.  This raises some questions.

 • Can it be good for the crypto economy if a load of money suddenly appears out of nowhere?
 • How much BCC immediately got converted back into BTC?
 • What's to stop people forking again, just to make a killing like this?

Was BCC good or bad in this respect?

As the main chain BTC was forked, it gave rise to Bitcoin Cash as we all know which was attained at 1:1 for holding onto existing Bitcoin. It clearly created a market for another coin with its own cap so you could treat it as any other altcoin but the main difference being the support offered to this new coin.
Yes it does look like money is being created out of nowhere and it very much the situation if at all more forks happen in the future.
819  Economy / Services / Re: [Exchange] Bitzure.com - Signature Campaign on: September 01, 2017, 12:23:17 PM
We want to launch a signature campaign but are new here, so would like to know what the best practices are (escrow, where to find one, process etc) so if anyone could help or point us in the right direction that would be great! Until then, information about us below!

Hello bitzure,
Here are some of the people that you can consider that you won't be having any problem at all. They are experienced in handling a campaign and also a trusted escrow.
Yahoo - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=355846
Lutpin - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=520313
Edwardard - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=710241
Darkstar - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=507936

Ah that is awesome, didn't realize there was so many. Will give Yahoo a pm first and inquire with the rest also. Thanks for the help everyone!

Honestly, if you're hiring one of the above mentioned users, you wouldn't need an escrow as all of them have experience of managing many campaigns and they do the payments themselves.
About your exchange, adding more altcoins would be great as everyone looks out for exchanges with more number of choices of altcoins to trade.
820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investors Beware: China to Give Death Penalty to ICO Traders? on: September 01, 2017, 06:24:00 AM
Don't really see death penalties being handed out for participating in ICOs but other measures like a few months jail time and some cash penalty would seem to be where they're heading with this idea.
Using a simple VPN which doesn't store logs could be the solution for the Chinese people to invest in ICOs and even that is that their own risks.
