The new question is when will it hit $10,000?
I'm predicting it will hit $10,000 by 2015.
Bitcoin sat around $100 for months then suddenly shot up to $1000.
I'm hoping that we're in the phase where it sits around $1000 for months then suddenly shoots up to $10,000.
I'd say by 2015 it's possible for it to reach $15K at best and $7K if we're being pessimistic. I'd take those numbers either way!

You bought the car with BTC? Nice man.

Its funny. It used to be that news like this would make the price jump $200.... Now.... ? not even a jiggle. We need something big! C'mon Amazon! If this is the case though, how will Bitcoin ever increase its value if companies aren't holding it? Apart from other factors, like it becoming more widely recognised of course.

You know who's "old" and attractive?
Helen Mirren.
Yummy...
Such a gilf lol. Helen Mirren is fit. Glad that I am not alone in thinking this haha. Mirren is a qilf. Just finished watching 2 Guns... Typical buddy "cop" flick, though Whalberg and Washington make it fun.
I love how Whalberg doesn't even try in his movies. I started watching 2 Guns a few weeks ago but my bros bluray player decided it didn't want to play the file 20 mins in . The only film I like Whalberg in is The Other Guys. He's got great comedic timing which was unexpected.

Not good at all, but unfortunately hard to find a manufacturer that doesn't do this. People like to think they don't support this sort of thing but sure most people would be more opposed to prices going up to allow fair wages without hurting profit margins.
There's an alternative coming in the mobile phone industry, called PhoneBlocks. There are some good vids on youtube explaining it. Essentially, it's a phone with customisable/replaceable parts. Must be better for the environment too. Wasn't that just a concept and not an actual workable idea? It's great as an idea, but I'm not sure how workable or how easy it is to implement. Nope, Motorola have teamed up to start making it http://m.ibtimes.com/phonebloks-motorola-partners-3d-systems-modular-smartphone-future-project-ara-1485168I'm still sceptical this will work out, and if it does it won't work anywhere near as well or look like how it's presented in that video. What makes you say that? Because the technology and electronics doesn't really work as easily as just swapping parts around - Phones are not just elaborate lego designs. It's a great idea, but not sure how technologically feasible it is. Read the comments: http://hackaday.com/2013/09/13/ask-hackaday-can-we-do-better-than-phonebloks/ & http://www.reddit.com/r/electronics/comments/1m4m0f/this_is_currently_on_the_front_page_a_good/I'd love to be proved wrong though. Yeah maybe you're right. I would have thought Motorola would know a little about electronics though. I guess we will see. My wifi has gone in my iPhone so I'm all for being able to replace it that easily!

Yes, but what LostDutchman is saying is that we still convert (in our minds) to USD or EUR to give BTC prices. This is because Bitcoin's value has changed very quickly and we as humans can't cope with such unstability.
Well, you and I are almost on the same page! The problem with crypto is that it cannot be used at 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999999999999999999999% of the merchants or services on the planet so it must be converted to something that is. I am not seeking to change the World, I am not trying to bring crypto to the masses; I am only and I repeat ONLY trying to make money! [...] Regardless of what anyone says, it is really ALL about the money and by "money" I mean dollars, dinars, drachmas, rubles, rupees or pounds fucking sterling. UNIVERSALLY SPENDABLE STUFF! My $.02. And that almost is where we diverge. I know that currently Bitcoin cannot be used on its own, but I firmly believe that as the system matures and more and more people get to know it, it will become stable and thus will be usable everywhere in the world, and without having to check USD/BTC price every 5 minutes. I don't seek to change by BTC back into Mexican Pesos, but rather to spend them directly. I'm of the same belief. I think the system will mature and will be more accepted publicly. As someone else has pointed out though, at least immediately, any shops or online stores will likely cash straight back to fiat when they take Bitcoin. So not sure how the price will be affected by more adoption.

It won't be long before Amazon start accepting it Yeah and, although they say they have no plans, Google are looking into how it would fit with their business model according to the press section.

That is nothing. I have seen a browser made by a two year old boy. Really! That's crazy. I have a two year old and we're always been told how advanced he is for his age, but there's no way he'd be able to do anything like that. Surely it wasn't real? Was it in the Daily Mail?

TigerDirect says that after just one day of implementing Bitcoin, something like $250,000 in Bitcoin sales + 30% increase in store visits.
What's more, TigerDirect.com pays no credit card fees when items are purchased using Bitcon! Get to pocket an additional 2 to 3% of sales. That is huge - we're talking $6000 +/- extra profit going to that company.
Overstock.com clocked $130,000 worth of Bitcoin sales in one day.
It's hard to think that more big companies wouldn't want to get in on this.

Not sure if they've already been mentioned but Age of Empires are pretty good games. I also liked Halo Wars.

I believed very strongly that 2014 would be the year of more large scale merchant adoption and improved services to make bitcoin easier for regular people to use.
So far the large merchant adoption trend seems to be holding up only 3 weeks into the new year. I'm looking forward to see what sort of innovations start popping up to make bitcoin easier/safer for regular people now that will/should have quite a few outlets to use bitcoin at.
Yeah I agree with this. I think this year will show a lot of adoption of Bitcoin as a payment method. We're already seeing universities accepting it for tuition fees and online/offline stores accepting it. Can't wait to see what this year brings. I'm hold all the way.

This would be pretty easy to test. Just get a bunch of friends to start exchanging encrypted messages about bombing an embassy or govt office. If these douche-bags can break it, they'd be on you like white on rice.
Haha, very true. Anyone care to test (not with me )
