801  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Zeushash scrypt cloud mining contracts will be cancelled on: December 20, 2014, 12:27:08 PM
Thanks for sharing. Wow, after cancelling the Gen3 products they forced people to buy their cloud shit and now this...

Just noticed this article

Yeah Zeus, you were right. Much better to spend thousands of dollars in your cloud shit instead of having a mining device in hand and now it seems your customers will loose everything....oh wait, when spending more money at your f*cking company, they get 5 GH/s for free  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
It's a shame what they are doing.
804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How cool this would be if it happen:) . on: December 20, 2014, 12:19:53 PM
Zeus told that the majority of the pre-order customers asked for cloud mining instead of mining devices. So they decided to cancel the production and moved to cloud mining instead.

Just noticed this one

Don't know what to say...

No buy orders at all. All finished  Cry Lost 1 BTC

I tried to warn you from the beginning, do you remember? Sad to see you lost your money and missed the right point of time to escape.
806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How cool this would be if it happen:) . on: December 20, 2014, 11:39:27 AM
Something is fishy about that forum message.  I mean to say "our company is accredited with the BBB?"  Yeah - so you pay your dues to the Better Business Bureau and that means what?

In addition -- their contact email is a gmail account?  Really?  So professional of them.

I think someone is fishing for information.

Who's to say these Gen3 chips even exist?

I agree with you. And even if they do exist, why would Zeus sell them instead of trying to make as much profit as they can do themself? Don't believe they would.

Looks like Bitmain has just canceled their Scrypt L1 mining project.  Hmmm.
So what is really going on here behind the scenes?
Are Scrypt miners just not worth building?  Or is it more profitable to not sell these machines?

Not worth? Don't you think it's another reason? Zeus showed that it IS profitable. But they also showed the new machines are too profitable to only sell them to a couple home miners. Instead they sell in big numbers to cloud mining services and/or start their own one. That way they make way more profit with cashing high maintenance fees from "stupid" investors who think they can make a good deal. To me it seems that scrypt asic manufacturers will mostly go this way.

Nobody seems to know what the problem is. I contacted Cryptsy 3 weeks ago and was told, the maintenance is finished soon...whatever this means.

Maybe it means they're almost done loading up on cheap LOTTO.  lol

I didn't want to say it Cheesy Or there's a new Lotto Coin in the pre-launch and some people learned from mistakes about copyright Tongue
809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Scrypt ASICs current and future profitability on: December 20, 2014, 07:46:34 AM
I'm looking at investing a few thousand into Scrypt ASICS.
I noticed most of the sites selling them are saying they are sold out, but have a lot of new pre-orders which have very nice profitability.
I assume by the time it is shipped however, this profitability will be much lower.
What ASICs that are currently available do you recommend?  Or should I wait a month or two for the next generation to come out?

I'm running an A2 right now.  Got it from Zoomhash, although you can find them cheaper on ebay.  Here's where I got mine:

http://zoomhash.com/collections/asics/products/110mhs-scrypt-asic-plug-and-play-1000w-a2mega-door-to-door-within-3-5-business-days

Super easy to get up and running and has been running solidly since I received it!

What are you mining? Do you sell the coins or keep them for better prices?

Thanks for your kind words. You are absolutely right with your analysis!

Just did the first claim, thanks for your offer.

One coin you should keep your eyes on is Magi (XMG).

Why? To avoid filling one site with my post, please check out those links:

Of course Magi isn't on the same level as Paycoin, but it's a coin for everyone and not built with huge investors funds. Magi brings CPU mining back!
812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Scrypt ASICs current and future profitability on: December 20, 2014, 05:39:34 AM
The current situation looks like this:

Some manufacturers announced improved chips with higher hashrate and lower power consumption. You could pre-order some of them. When they have noticed that those ASICS are making nice profit, most of them decided to sell them in large quantities to cloud mining providers or started an own cloud mining service where they can make much more profit due to high maintenance fees. Zeus is a good example, they f*cked their customers and cancelled the production, reason was that "over 80% of pre-order customers preferred cloud mining over physical miners". So the market isn't very huge.

Additionally nearly all altcoins crashed down so you need to do good research to find profitable coins to mine or just connect your miner to a multipool with BTC payout. But as BTC price crashed down, too, you might want to reconsider if you really want to invest such an amount of money.

Just my 2 cents...

Don't forget, there's another exchange that listed XMG/BTC. No volume yet, so let's change it.

sorry, just removed the ref code, just thought i could share the credits after they sent me another $5 after i deactivated it.

No problem but in the VPS tutorial there's already a reflink from our developer in order to get initial credits.
I just wanted to stop ref code spamming as the last 2 days there are some guys spamming each thread at BCT with their ref codes.
816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Poll] Which Doge - Mining pool do you use / like / is the best ? on: December 20, 2014, 03:41:51 AM
As Doge can be merge mined, you get better profits mining another coin in a pool that merge mines Doge like Coinking.io or ipominer.com

Sorry for posting so much but I think I have found a bug.

I don't think that's a problem, this is why this thread exists Wink And the coinking guys are always open for input.

edit: I can confirm this error!

https://www.digitalocean.com/

free $10 credit for vps mining for those interested.

Please don't do refcode spamming in this thread. Additionally Digital Ocean isn't the best choice for VPS mining. You get more power at Vultr.com for the same amount of $ and can also pay with BTC. Anyway, thanks for your suggestion.

When suggesting VPS mining, please also link to the VPS mining guide located here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg8800103#msg8800103
