801  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: January 21, 2024, 04:06:08 PM
When people see how others make money from gambling, how they win millions or easily increase their deposit in a short time, then those people are the first victims of addiction. People who are greatly dependable from money - first one to get addicted. Those who gamble for fun, most likely wont get addicted, as they can switch to something other to get fun. Once again, most weak, unprotected stratum of the population are affected most.

That is the dependants. Yes those that depends on the addicts for money are likely to be the worst hit because they will need money and if the addict is not winning to provide for them then they will suffer. However, the addict will also be affected because they are the first hit of their inability to win and usually those that depend on someone for money may feel the heat of not getting the money if the provide pretend not to have the money but if genuinely the money isn't available then the provider will feel the effects more, in this case the addict will feel it if he is not winning.
802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your state on mind if your son stole your money to gamble? on: January 21, 2024, 03:11:14 PM

Question: would she be so disheartened and mad as this if the son had won the bet on a multi million price?
Dear fellows, let's assume you are the mom, what would be your state of mind on this context?

No she won't be that mad if the son had won jackpot with the stolen money. What she would have done is to only talk to him about not stealing but to inform her if he wanted some money to gamble  Grin

We have also had issues hear about children in religious home where gambling is forbidden and the child won huge some of money and heaven didn't lose. So such cases are not going to get the perpetrator to die, it will only be more painful if the risk didn't result to winning but if it did, the mother will swallow the shame that the son stole from her but be happy that he won the bet which the stolen money was used for.
803  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: January 21, 2024, 02:22:06 PM
I made a very wrong decision on a game I staked today and this is unlike me because I don't normally check on my games until its settled because sometimes you will tempted with some crazy things like cash-out which is what I did today and although you won't blame me to some extent but still if I was patient enough as the final results if the games came through and Instead of winning the whole money, I got only a fraction of the funds.

Sometimes to have a small winning can encourage someone for a bigger winning but some gamblers don't regard small winning as something they can have or hold on and they useless such winning. It is greed that leads to selfishness which cause losses, maybe if you had left the game, maybe you would have also lost at the end. Therefore, there is no need for regret on your account to cash out midway, the cash was introduced for such purpose of helping a gambler share his winning instead of outright losing. So you don't need to feel bad, think of it that you may also have lost the game.
804  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: My bothers no gree for ur self too on: January 21, 2024, 12:39:26 PM
Na the procrastination spirit we suppose work against this year and na im be make person no gree for himself because many times we go dey lazy to get on with something new wey go help us and na so we go dey shift the date to do that thing before we know e don dey late. Dem say na animal wey first reach stream dey drink better water and na so e be where human being too dey as dem still get that proverb for English as a stitch in time saves nine, also for equity dem say where two equities dey equal the first go prevail. All these na to say we no actually need to procrastinate or slumber because time no dey wait for any body, the year don begin run again. God will help our hussle.
805  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Relocation of the FAAN Headquarters to Lagos on: January 20, 2024, 10:47:27 PM
Na black my idealogy be that na. In fact na African man idea be that and especially Nigeria man and na so the politics dey. Some state governors self dey move schools and other institutional facilities go their papa village all to say them do something for their village people, such a backward mentality. So na the same thing wey Tinubu want to dey do now with FAAN.

Nigerian politicians dey always consider their self and the few friends around dem to take decision and every other person no matter and being the kind person wey Tinubu wey dey like pride and proud be, him go dey beat him chest say him fit take any decision wey him like and him supporters too go dey support him.
806  Economy / Speculation / Re: Signs you should know to take profit from your crypto investment on: January 20, 2024, 05:45:25 PM
2. Reaching personal target goals
Of course, this should be a must.
If your crypto asset has reached a predefined price target that you think will reach the level you consider satisfactory, it might be a good time to take profits.  Many of us store the value of Bitcoin and set a target for when to harvest it, even how long it is.

How many of us here think that will miss a chance during the bull market and sell it quickly?

There is no argument about this and it has to be a realistic target and not an elephant target that won't be met until the bull run is over  Grin The volatility is always high during the bull season, so setting a realistic measure for taking profit is better and can be easily reached. Again to have technical idea of price movements, support and resistance can also be helpful. Like those who bought at higher high, if they where able to interpret technical analysis, they can know it was time for retracement.

However, the problem is that of greed. If a hodler is setting a longtime plan, he should know if it will be realistic in the current bull or the future. So set a target and take your profit on it if you get there. Don't readjust because of volatility that is in the market it can cause more harm than profit.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Increased Gambling Risk for the Younger Generation on: January 20, 2024, 04:34:43 PM
This is important for parents and Casinos to note. Although, the casinos already have their warning against underaged gambling but I think the bulk of the restrictions depends now on the parents because some parents pay less attention to the things that their children do at home and they would never know what they also do while they are not present. The age of smartphones and internet connection has caused more children to grow into adulthood while they are still teenagers.

Also what influence they have with the older students in school have a way of negative influence on them, causing them to be exposed above their age and involving in gambling when they are still of underaged.
808  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I dont trust world rulers how do we know they have nuclear? on: January 20, 2024, 03:47:02 PM
Don't be a doubting Thomas. How can you possibly say you don't believe no country has nuclear weapon in the world when we saw some countries used few and pretend they didn't use it.

You can read the link below, I checked on Google and saw 9 countries already have nuclear weapons:

Quote
United States, Russia, France, China, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, India, Israel, and North Korea.

https://www.ucsusa.org/nuclear-weapons/worldwide#:~:text=Nine%20countries%20possess%20nuclear%20weapons,%2C%20Israel%2C%20and%20North%20Korea.
809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is better, parlay or teaser bet? on: January 20, 2024, 01:30:18 PM
I'm thinking of something closer to teaser in football betting also. In that betting odd you have to bet along when the game has already started and the odd is equally reduced like the teaser but I prefer parley to it despite the high risk in the accumulation because it has increased odd which makes the potential winning also high.
810  Economy / Economics / Re: Passion for skills. on: January 20, 2024, 12:04:30 PM
One thing about learning of skills is to go into that skill that is the current and future trend. Most things that has to do with analogue are gone so we can't keep learning things that are old fashioned in a modern day society and of course we know that the skill we know is how much traffic that we can generate to ourselves and that cumulate into cash and how we can grow with the economy.

Learning of skills today is to learn certain types of skills that is in line with digital and technology because that is the age we are so that we don't still remain redundant after we have paid money learning such outdated "skills". So doing a research before going into any skill is more profitable. Like if you have a skill that is blockchain base or cryptography etc then you can be certain to get huge patronage.
811  Economy / Economics / Re: The world's logic favours income makers, not the savers on: January 20, 2024, 10:48:19 AM

This evil rigged system never allows a middle class hard working person to reach too further on improving his life standards. If he doesn't have a large income, he won't reach anywhere. To be a disciplined saver along decades of his life isn't enough.

This old order has changed. In this present dispensation you are not limited by any system or anybody not reaching your purpose and financial standard and the way of life you want.

With the digital world all you need is the information and data plus smartphone and you are already mining , airdropping, trading crypto and fiat, hodling and investing in bitcoin. No one need to rely on saving of fiat in the bank and expect peanut from the bank instead of converting to bitcoin and hodl or invest for the bull run. These days many people would invest more than saving.
812  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Let's stop Wars Im calling up all to stop on: January 19, 2024, 10:40:08 PM
The world would be a much better place if there was no war but unfortunately it is not us that can make these decisions. War is profitable & our leaders prioritise money over everything. If the world was on a Bitcoin Standard then there would be less or no war. All we can do is hope things change because too many people lose their lives in conflict.

Countries that deal in arms as part of their resources and income will not wish that there were resolutions to stop a certain war and this is the reason we have unfinished war over the years. They depend on it to sell their products. A typical example is the Russia and Ukraine war that was suppose to have stopped is still persisting and also that of Israel and Palestine. So you are correct in your submission. During war, it starts very little but afterwards it enlarges and becomes a muster that never dies because some ulterior motive and interest have been built in it.
813  Economy / Economics / Re: Demand and supply directly and indirectly related. on: January 19, 2024, 09:38:11 PM
Regards to the direct and indirect relationship of both as it affects a manufacturing company, they understand that the consumer will go for cheaper products where the price of a particular product is high and it will affect the supply of that particular high priced goods as demand will shift for alternative cheaper goods and that is why when they announce price increase for a particular goods they immediately start the production of an alternative either in quality or worse they produce smaller size of the product with same value. They do this not to allow their customers move to another totally different brand.

814  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Are you following your purpose or money? on: January 19, 2024, 06:49:08 PM

What do you think about following ones purpose even when it seems unrealistic?

Omo if the purpose is not realistic, na to do U-turn oo dem no go tie you ontop unrealistic expectations like that. We all know how the economy take tie wrapper and that one don make many people become jack of all trade and master of all whether the all na true people no want know again but na to dey run everything join.

If the purpose begin dey unrealistic, you fit leave am and focus for another thing for the mean time until something still set again. Like if you want enter tertiary institution and you no dey get admission, you fit begin learn hand work, hopefully you fit raise money still go school later because I don see people wey do adult schooling after dem don marry born pikin as their purpose still dey burn for their mind. But really the Nigerian situation and system don change so many things for people. Some people no dey get admission to study the course wey dem want because of the educational system and na dat one make people dey go private universities where dem go give you your purpose.
815  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: The kidnapping matter for Naija on: January 19, 2024, 05:52:05 PM
E get government official for this present administration wey dem allege say im steal millions and after much heat I don dey hear say im say im no steal alone, say bigger government official follow inside. Shebi dem still say if bad thing dey happen for inside government and within 24hours the thing no stop say government hand dey inside?

All these na preamble say na rat wey dey house dey tell the one outside say oga madam hide fish for cupboard. How we go just dey withness this kind of insecurity for the country and nothing is being done about it? When dem still hold one person the way dem go release you no go know. This is the effect of corruption because corruption kills the law and buries it at the same time. There is death penalty for kidnapping for some states but I don't know how many caught have been put at death sentence. The tory plenty, at least as e don enter Abuja now, make we see how the government officials go feel because corruption dey fly for their corridor.
816  Economy / Economics / Re: Reasons for personal financial accountability? on: January 19, 2024, 05:22:23 PM
It seems that the op is suggesting financial self-accountability because a person is making an assessment of oneself here. But when I google financial accountability, it is, of course, about being accountable to others when performing financial tasks.
The op mentions potential benefits and a few tips, but no details on how it could look like. Is being aware of how much you earn, how much you spend, and what were your biggest purchases on a monthly basis enough to say that a person is financially accountable? Does financial accountability require setting and achieving goals, or can it be just about analysing spendings?

Financial accountability like op has made it look, he is talking about an individual being responsible in his spending , to be sure that they are spending money rightfully and not extravagantly.

Yes it is enough to say someone is financially responsible and accountable to himself if he has mapped out from his income how much to be used in spending for different expenses like feeding, shelter, clothing, fun etc. If you are not financially accountable, you won't be able to put in shape the percentages of how much you want to spend for a certain period including making budget for it.
817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I was robbed, and the severe setback made me rethink a problem on: January 19, 2024, 03:10:03 PM
This is just a lesson that you have to learn maybe in the hard way because it has happened to you twice now, don't allow the third to happen because that will mean you are not serious with your assets. The bull run is approaching and scammers likewise hodlers are preparing for it. Therefore, don't lose your coins carelessly by allowing your private key to be exposed. If you see a link, be careful not to click and imput your keys there. It is unfortunate that you lost that coin and hopefully you will learn alot from that experience.
818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Higher and lower risks in gambling is the gamblers choice. on: January 19, 2024, 12:32:31 PM
I don't know if everyone is aware of this that the more risks you takes on your predictions is the more higher the game odds, and this set of gambling demands lower stakes due to the chances to win is extremely high.

Winning big involves higher risk not only on the accumulation of odds that you are staking for but also for the amount of money you are staking. Some gamblers take the risk from the angle of multiple games which increases the odds but increase the chances of losing incase some games didn't win while some gamblers risk more capital than normal to what they can bear if they lose. So a gambler understand the risk that is involved in gambling and knows what he should be staking for.
819  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for January on: January 19, 2024, 11:55:14 AM
Monthly candle I rarely watch people using this timeframe

But I vote No ETF already approved but the market seems not moved at all. But as you can see on your chart bitcoin already put 3 candlesticks with big green don't you think there will be a correction after this?
In Altcoin cycle is january is the best time to buy more alt

I see the possibility of the correction too. The expectation of price up movement from early January to this time was that it will continue the up trend it started since last two months in the festive period but after this season it has reduced in volatility thereby affecting the price from 46k to now 42k with more possibility of further drop. I don't think this January will end in bull mode and price will keep maintaining this level until halving.
820  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is justice really blind? on: January 19, 2024, 07:46:39 AM

The time she spent in the jail for not committing the crime she was accused of would have been a reason for her not to commit a crime because this time it will be heavy on her because their is evidence to prove that the crime was committed. I think before she was accused af first it seems people already know this is a crime that she can committ. This time around she will serve the judgment for committing crime, and judgment won't compromise because she was innocent in the first accusation.

It is not enough to assume and believe that the woman is capable of committing the crime or that people are thinking that way. She could be a prime suspect either because she is not in good terms with the husband and usually prime suspects are usually traced in such way where they are perceived as enemy and so you can also see that the assumption is wrong in the first instance where this woman was adjudged to be the committal of the murder until she had to do the real offense, so I don't think she will be imprisoned for the second time since she committed an offence once.
