841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [SCAM ALERT] Elastic Project - The Decentralized Supercomputer on: April 11, 2016, 06:55:54 PM

He's right on this. After getting entangled in some kind of brain-tangle upthread, I did exactly that. I'm not in, and I'm not commenting on the project. It's over to them.

tl;dr: Just say "I'm out" and leave them be. I'm sure you'll find something else on this board to divert your attention. Wink

I think that is one of the things that bugs me most about how the coin is being run.

Just saying 'If you don't like it, go somewhere else' comes across as unprofessional. I used to do some games development for a small company, and one of the hosts over there used to do that all the time. It always bugged me... 'if you don't like such and such, go play somewhere else'. And of course, they did ...  to the detriment of the company. It's something I just don't get, as although there are tons of trolls (they should be ignored), it's not that difficult to be more professional about things ... just be upfront rather than tell people to go somewhere else. Don't assume everyone posting something critical, or those asking questions, are a troll or are fudding.

Hope EK takes this as constructive criticism. It's a project I wanted to invest in, but simply couldn't convince myself to... keeping an eye on it though, and may eventually throw a small amount at later.

842  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LISK price speculation on: April 11, 2016, 06:39:32 PM

That could be true and price is falling hard at Yobit last 24 hours. Some people will lose some big money here in short period.

The weird thing will now be seeing all of the people crying 'scam' and asking why the devs are not more active... just because they bought in at Lisk's high on Yobit. They played the musical chairs game and lost... but it's no relation at all to the real Lisk. Yobit/Bloombit could have called it FakeCoin, and it would have been the same relationship ... manipulated tiny market, pumped up during early hype.
843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: April 11, 2016, 06:07:41 PM

It seems to me that it's best to loose the 20% bonus and only invest in the last day, when i have a better idea of how much was raised and how much will 1 wave cost.

This was the full comment.

Not illogical, although with the ICO interest lately, I expect it's a safe bet that a decent amount will be raised.

Double-edged sword if you look at it as just getting a good price for the coin, however. More Waves per btc = less invested = less whales = less likely to see a price rise (meaning pumps). Best scenario may be an in-between final amount -- decent amount taken in (but not utterly insane).

Safe way to go may be to invest a small amount on Day 1 (for small fish, like myself,  1 btc or so) ... then wait and see how the ICO does, how much spare btc you have lying around, etc.
844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 11, 2016, 05:55:23 PM
Lol whats happening in lisk why the price is still decreasing.. where the promis from developers? and i think this is another piece of shitcoin.. i hope it will increase again i will wait again for the price 0.0023 and i will buy 100 lisk and wait maybe it will profitable again after few days..

I really hope you're trolling.

I'm assuming the majority of folks commenting on Yobit's prices are trolling. Either that, or they are complete idiots and shouldn't be buying into ICOs (or cryptos for that matter) until they do a little research first.

Whatever Yobit/Bloombit sells their Lisk IOUs for is pretty much meaningless. High or low, it's just a manipulated price in a tiny market, with very little relation to the price of the actual coin when it hits an exchange. Everyone should know this.
845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XCR] Crypti | Dapps | Sidechains | Dapp Store | OPEN SOURCE | 100% own code | DPoS on: April 11, 2016, 05:48:11 PM

If they burn their 80% stake, crypti can still go on.

I wondered if they might burn some of their coins, but then realized... what benefit would it be to them?

They burn their coins, XCR rises in price... but they won't benefit, as they burned their coins. XCR would then be deemed a competitor to Lisk.

If they hold their coins, they could do several things. First, just let XCR die. It's a competitor in a way, so that's an indirect benefit.

They sell half to a dev who wants to take over XCR. It's an insane amount for two parties to hold in a coin, but it could result in at least sustaining things for a while. Then they can sell small amounts over a long period of time. XCR would never truly succeed however, as it's like never-ending sell pressure (if not from the Lisk devs, then the new XCR dev).

They just sell what they can, hold onto what they have... if XCR lives, they do the never-ending sell pressure thing and just get what they can out of it.

There are several possible scenarios, but not very many that make sense for the Lisk devs that also results in XCR succeeding longterm. In fact, I see no logical reason for them to do anything with their XCR besides sell what they can of it. Maybe a whale or two would pay them pennies on the dollar for their XCR, then whales use the XCR as a pump mechanism ... but again, that's not healthy for the coin longterm.
846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LISK price speculation on: April 07, 2016, 07:18:47 PM
I would sell 1/2 my stash for $2 dollars. If we get that at launch it would be amazing - well above what I expect once a real liquid market comes online.

Things will get interesting once there is a real market. My initial target (before the yobit stuff) was around $1/coin... and figured I'd sell a little bit below just to recoup my initial investment.

Now, who knows. It may sink lower, but after the initial selloff, maybe it can be pumped to $2-$5/coin (short-term). Stranger things have happened. The Yobit stuff creates a base price, however artificial, that hopefully does keep dumpers from dumping at really low prices.
847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LISK price speculation on: April 07, 2016, 06:08:05 PM
Better question is how long it's going to take til Lisk reaches 1 satoshi.  Because that's where it's headed.

You are asking for very cheap coins, don't you think?
No!  I don't even know much about Lisk.  Could be the next bitcoin, the next ETH, the next big thing, whatever.   But given the history of shitcoins, 1 satoshi is more likely.

Yep, makes sense.

Considering the coin forked to create Lisk (XCR) was above its own ICO levels (and currently is, albeit at low volume) and never crashed to the ground even though it ran into tons of problems, ran out of money and so on, it makes sense that Lisk, with a bazillion dollars for development, will crash down to 1 sat.

I'm not saying Lisk will go insane, but it's a safe bet it won't fall into the shitcoin levels of oblivion.

The empty repo, no demo/prototype, no team, 80 BTC (less than $40K), no control on the funds

Are you retarded?
The repo is not empty, we have a working coin, there are commits to the github daily, we have over 113 BTC.
It is so obvious what you are doing here: First you wanted me to prove that I indeed received the 100000 NXT, now I did so and you go on with your FUD campaign?

Can someone please make this troll go away?

Really, just ignore him. He derailed his own thread.

Answering real concerns is all that was important. The Lannister thing is the only real outstanding concern, although I have my own suspicions there. You verified your identity (or at least I think you did, haven't had time to check those addresses), so you are good there.

As to whether you can make the coin you set out to make ... well, it's not up to any of us to say if you can do so or not. It's the risk/reward game, and up to each person as to how much risk they are willing to take, how many red flags are too much, and so on.
849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [SCAM ALERT] Elastic Project - The Decentralized Supercomputer on: April 07, 2016, 04:17:25 PM

Maybe you really are a naive fool. Suspicious Lannister controls one multisig key. Nothing is possible without his key. If suspicious Lannister is a scammer he can say like "all the funds for the project are lost forever unless I get half of it". Suspicious Lannister has ultimate control over the funds. And he has been unwilling even to built trust into himself and the project.

And that is what would worry me.

I do hope EK doesn't take real concerns as FUD (as this thread seems to going off the rails), but verifying EK's identity, and ideally figuring out who Lannister is, would sort of help assuage some fears. No idea how the latter can be accomplished.

An open project is fine and all, but control of the funds is really with one person, one person with a bought account. Maybe Lannister = EK. Maybe Lannister = some stranger here in the forums. No idea.

The multisig key thing is sort of meaningless as a safeguard. EK even gave me a key (which I didn't want). But since I won't ever provide it to Lannister, it doesn't matter if there is a 3rd key or not.
850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [SCAM ALERT] Elastic Project - The Decentralized Supercomputer on: April 07, 2016, 01:54:17 AM

This could work.
Up for it, EK?

Actually that's a very reasonable request.

Lannister is the one who I think most over there had suspicions of a bought account (or at least I seem to recall some guy going on about it). EK should be easy to verify though.
851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 06, 2016, 09:08:37 PM
The shittie stuff is that lisk team approved yobit to this giants scam!

Unbelievable!!! Crazy!!!

7 millions fund, and they instead make this on bittrex or poloniex, they choose yobit.

What is happening? Very bad stuff going on.

You need to work on your FUD there. Probably better to wait until the coin is released, so it can impact the exchange rate for you. Also helps if you weren't wrong about everything.

No approval from Lisk devs (actually outright disapproval), they did not choose Yobit.... Yobit selling IOUs, which is their right. No different than what other folks have done off-exchange before a coin is released.
852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LISK price speculation on: April 06, 2016, 06:46:10 PM
Really guys ? 1 lisk 0= 0.003 btc and the main net was not even launched, then we should expect 0.01 btc per lisk after the launch.

Just speculation.

Well, right now there isn't exactly a lot of sell pressure (one seller), but it does at least provide a base number to work with. Where it goes from there, we'll find out.

The more I think of it, the more I think of just how clever Yobit was with this. It's win-win for them... if they sell they win, if others buy/sell they win (with fees). No competitors selling, market all to themselves. Pretty smart.
853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LISK price speculation on: April 06, 2016, 06:30:20 PM
This is unbelievable what have happened with this project..
People can only watch how their investment going to the moon without possibility to sell.

If they had a possibility to sell, the price wouldn't go to the moon.

I mentioned to folks in the main Lisk thread how a delay typically works to the investor advantage. This is why ... pre-markets will raise the price. By the time it hits the exchange, it'll at least start higher than it otherwise would (or at least we assume so). In this case it's a manipulated, tiny market raising the price... but it's at least something.
854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 06, 2016, 04:21:16 PM
It's been a while, but didn't XCR do more or less the same thing back during the Bter days? There was a delay between ICO ending and actual release of coin, so Bter allowed trading of 'tokens' before the actual release. I don't see that much difference between what happened back then and what Yobit is doing (so no reason for anyone to complain).

End result was a higher price for XCR, if I recall correctly. Other ICOs have done the same, typically with asset trading (nxt exchange, etc) before their real release.
855  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 05, 2016, 07:14:30 PM

there also the best coin called zcash out in months without asking money or ico.
Decred also wasn't ico....they give free btc instead to airdropper and a 21 teams member.
Eth is about 40 teams member since start.

What is here? 2 developers from a dead coin called crypty and 1 community member?

Assuming you invested here, you knew ahead of time what you were investing in. Complaining about the size of the dev team now is just silly.

ETH had a long delay. Iota has been delayed for months (I think). Plenty of ICOs delay for months and months (remember NEM, how long was that delay before release, like a year+)?

A couple of weeks won't kill you.
856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 05, 2016, 07:07:24 PM

Well, there is an entire community asking to launch on april 11. Dev seems ignore community telling the real truth about the delay.
It's not just cause of validation key. It's ridicolous.
Look at github and how many problems with source need to be fixed.....

A decent number of investors didn't validate or confirm their passphrases. Seems like a reasonable explanation to me, especially when we have people posting here about passphrase issues too.

A delay of a couple of weeks is really nothing. I mean, other coins delay for months sometimes and don't even have a coin yet. It's not like the 11th was even a firm date to begin with.

Something people tend to forget... delays between an ICO ending and coin hitting an exchange usually results in a higher price. If anything, the release date was too soon.
857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 05, 2016, 06:58:16 PM

lisk is not a scam. dev will build masterpiece and lawyer will get rich. and then we can get rich. learn to have patience.

Lisk is a scam ... if you didn't buy-in yet, or are hoping for below ICO prices.

It's funny if you look at all the scam threads while the ICO was ongoing. Those same people shouting 'Scam' then turned around later stating how their FUD didn't work, and they actually bought in. They simply wanted to keep the ICO numbers down so they would get a greater number of Lisk (although since the price would proportionally be lower, not sure if that would have been much of an advantage).

FUD/Hype, take all with a grain of salt. It just depends on whatever benefits whomever is posting. This forum is like one giant trollbox.
858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 05, 2016, 06:53:06 PM
i have a problem upon the validation i noticed that i have another passphrase, not the one of my exchange, how this is possible? the system screwed it at the time of my exchange? how can i fix this?

At some point did you generate a new passphrase? Make sure no spaces are trailing in the passphrase (spaces after phrase is a common error when copying/pasting)?
859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 05, 2016, 06:19:34 PM

The Waves release was exactly the thought I had on why the delay.  That may not be true, but it is very coincidental.  It's actually a genius comeback by LISK to combat the dumping that would have happened on April 12th.  Well played!

And if people are flipping out about this delay because they want to participate in the Waves ico.....you do realize that they wont launch until the fall sometime?  OK, maybe not that late, but there is a long pause between the end of ico and release

The question I'd have is... who are they selling to on the 11th, so they can buy Waves on the 12th?

Just because a coin releases on the 11th doesn't mean it will hit an exchange that same exact day. There is usually a delay. So that means people would need to sell off an exchange (in theory, they could do that now if they wanted to). I wouldn't think there would be that many folks selling so early, before a coin even hits an exchange, to rush to get that 20% Waves bonus... it makes little sense.
860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 05, 2016, 05:59:02 PM
someone correct me if im wrong, but did anyone who's mad even read THE FUCKING ICO RULES?! lmao
they are honoring refunds on the ico until the 18th of april.
so stop bitching and be mature, reach them and calmly ask for your money back
or keep getting mad... and looking like a baby about it.....

I wonder if people even know what they are buying half the time here. Not just for this coin, but any coin.

But you bring up a good point. If someone wants their money back right now and invested using XCR (which I assume many of us did here) just ask for a refund, and cash out your XCR for BTC. Of course if/when Lisk takes off, you may cry later.
