841  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Phoenix - Efficient, fast, modular miner on: February 04, 2012, 10:32:10 AM
phatk2 gives lesser than phatk for some unknown reason.

I get 380 with phatk2 & 414 with phatk on 5870 with 945/300

ya i understand.
But i want to try my luck for 1 or 2 days to see will i catch anything
843  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: SOLO MINING POSTING ONLY on: February 04, 2012, 06:00:29 AM
I want to try solo mining.
I don't know the steps on windows 7.
can anyone explain me to how to mine solo with steps?
844  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [175GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: February 03, 2012, 06:26:53 PM
I don't know from where i got this, so i ask here.

Is p2pool is the pool that supports merged mining of bitcoins, namecoins & litecoins?
845  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: AOCLBF 1.83b2 by WinD - Dynamic clocks adjusting Manual fanspeed on startup on: February 03, 2012, 01:28:35 PM
ok, working
846  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: AOCLBF 1.83b2 by WinD - Dynamic clocks adjusting Manual fanspeed on startup on: February 03, 2012, 12:14:27 PM
done some optimizations in getting data from drivers
aoclbf_1.83b2_by_WinD

I used to mine on 5870.
I get strange problem. The miner mines with correct clock speed, then clock speed gradually reduces & mining also reduces.
I set 930/300 & from 930 it went down to 360 mhz in less than 3 minutes.
847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [LTC] An (even more) optimized version of cpuminer - UPDATED JAN 26 on: February 03, 2012, 06:18:11 AM
I am using win 7, 64 bit & i downloaded 2.1.2 from first page & i created a bat file with this code

minerd.exe -t 3 -o http://litecoinpool.org:9332/ -O xxxxx:xxxx

I am getting 15-16 khash/s on Intel core2 Quad Q8400, clock 2.6GHz, threads/core 3

Is that enough or i need further add anything?

850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin will visit the CIA on: January 31, 2012, 06:23:44 PM
I was listening to Bruce Wagner interview Gavin after the CIA conference and just wondered why not much had been made about Satoshi and the real reason he gave up all Bitcoin contact? According to Gavin himself the CIA visit itself could have been the reason he quit?

Bruce Wagner : When was the last time you chatted to satoshi?
Gavin Andresen: Um... I haven't had email from satoshi in a couple months actually. The last email I sent him I actually told him I was going to talk at the CIA. So it's possible , that.... that may have um had something to with his deciding

http://solidcointalk.org/topic/529-did-gavin-andresen-push-satoshi-out-of-bitcoin/

Not only gavin many know satoshi. He/she is in bitcoin still & if you look closely you can able to find him.
But what is the use?
he/she came in the satoshi & gave a great thing & now gone.
Now its in hand of gavin to represent bitcoin.
satoshi is still in the bitcoin world & doing what he can in some other name.
851  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Join me in the biggest mining pool boycott Bitcoin has ever seen on: January 26, 2012, 04:44:44 PM
Actually, what technomage says is true.
Most miners don't know or don't care.
If deepbit, slush... normal pools display message in their site, encouraging  miners to join p2p , so that bitcoin network will be safe.
Technomage wants like asking politicians to help & develop all the humans in country.
That too cant be said exactly, as deepbit, slush....are NOT monopolying bitcoin network, but Technomage wants big pools to spread awareness to their miners.

I know many miners who never even not updating their mining programs to new versions.

If big pools display message, it will be known to at least the miners who checking the site knows about p2p, same as displaying messages to spread bitcoin, its anonymity, decentralized....

bulanula You got any improvement?
can able to mine with extender cables on BB marshal?

No. I gave up on it.

too bad to give up

As RJK mentioned; those are the worst, because of the design. Its 2 slots and 2 sockets.
Without extender, so plugging a card straight in to the motherboard, you have a single non-soldered socket. With a regular extender cable you have 2. With your clumsy extender there are 4 per device!

RJK as you mentioned there, the one mentioned has 4 connections.
If you look at closely the pics in link you posted , you can see extender cables similar to cablesaurus.

"It seems as said by professional not all extenders work except cableaurus."

extenders which is like the ones sold by cableaurus worked/works.

RJK Thanks for that link. Nice setup, amazing.

I have been told not to use extenders when i first started mining by many professional miners here.
They told me to avoid extenders coz, extenders wont work.
Then cableaurus opened shop & i had pm with him & he confirmed me that his extenders will work & also told me, that i don't need powered extenders if i don't use dual gpu 5970.
All the extenders i bought from cableaurus worked for me.
It seems as said by professional not all extenders work except cableaurus.

It took more than 2 days for me to figure out that slot 3 & slot 7 NEED 16x extenders, while other slots work fine with 1x extenders.
I used extenders for all cards & no gpu is directly connected to mobo.
Try extenders for all.

These are the extenders I have :

http://www.delock.com/produkte/gruppen/zubehoer/Delock_Riser_card_PCI_Express_x16_with_flexible_cable_left_insertion_89130.html

Using just one 5870 and this extender and Linuxcoin still fails and even with plain Debian the driver fglrx does not properly function.  Huh

If even with one extender with card fail means , it must be faulty extender or not properly getting connection.
u sure, the fans on card works when u use extenders?
coz u using a left side extender, so instead of standing straight the card will be rotated/tilted 90 degrees & fan faces down & may be not rotating.
i used straight extenders from cablesaurus.

check the slot switches in BB.
it has hardware switch to disable pcie slot 1,2,3,4 on top left.

EDIT:
also make sure OC GENIE & MUTLI BIOS switches DIDN'T pressed.

i used cooler master SPG 1200W , still it refused to power 4 cards.
i can only able to power 3 cards with a single CMSPG1200W, but with just extenders, never used externally powered extenders.

4 cards work fine with BB marshall.
I am sure abt even 6 cards, coz i managed to mine with 6 cards for days, except i got powercut daily & a lot of heat.
