Its the power of Bitcoin network.
Both Bitcoin & forum members helps to nail scammers in head.

Tell us one scammer who has been nailed so far.
Tell one scammer who hasn't nailed so far using Bitcoin.
They get caught before they can run away. That is what important than any other thing.
It makes money can be recovered by all legal & other ways.
702  Other / Off-topic / Re: The pirate ponzi fiasco on: September 01, 2012, 09:17:09 AM
Internet detectives shouldn't be required.

Indeed. Probably the IRS and other 3 letters agencies would love to hear about this story and would work for free exacting revenge.

It's always kind of amazed me that people mostly ignore the possibility of getting caught up in a money laundering or tax evasion investigation when they invest in some of Bitcoin's more sketchy enterprises.  Losing money isn't the only thing they're risking.
Its the uniqueness of Bitcoin network.
Both Bitcoin & forum members helps to nail scammers in head.
703  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Its Official Pirate Has Defaulted!! on: September 01, 2012, 08:45:29 AM
pirate40 default & Bitcoinica scam proved one thing.
that thing actually helps Bitcoin a lot.

In both scam, they can cleverly took a lot of bitcoiners money, but they cant able to hide.
The scamers are found out in less than 10 days, which normally wont happen in REAL world.

This proves the power of Bitcoin.
You can run, but you can't hide.

The information posted about both the Bitcoinica guys and pirate was known long before anything ever went wrong.  People have been posting about pirate's identity and his connections to other businesses for months and the identity of the Intersango guys was never a secret.

Mail addresses and phone numbers mean nothing - in fact they can be used to convince people you're still in a particular location after you're long gone.  Even real physical addresses mean nothing, people can (and do) disappear overnight all the time over much smaller debts than are involved here.  How traceable people are depends on how much they really want to avoid being found and how well they've planned in advance.

This has nothing to do with "the power of Bitcoin".  Playing internet detective and doxxing people is a favourite hobby of many online communities.
What you said is correct.
But it also means that scams cant be done easily in Bitcoin.
In real life you can even change your DNA to hide yourself.
But, if some one, wants to run a HYIP then they cant do it easily in Bitcoin.
Either he must be most advanced scammer/hacker to fool every single person in Bitcoin or get caught easily.
Any way this gives power to Bitcoin.
Bitcoin & this forum, makes Bitcoin scam proof for multi million dollar HYIP & businesses.
704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC-GLOBAL] burnside's Litecoin Global Stock Exchange - Public Beta on: September 01, 2012, 08:15:10 AM
I registered on the site https://www.litecoinglobal.com/
It said registered successfully & asked me to login.
When i tried to login with my username & password, i get wrong password or username error.
If i CLICK Lost password, i get 404 page not found error

Edit:
Login successful, but password length is only less than or equal to 20 characters.
Better have it clearly says in register page, if you cant increase password length.
ex: password MUST be less than 20 characters, not more than 20.

You can hide, shut off your internet Tongue

switching off internet is useless, if their is mail address & phone numbers.

Have we had an announcement that payments will absolutely definitively be going out tomorrow at midnight... or the day after... or the day after that, yet?

Tomorrow never dies.

Have to buy an OS which is not officially launched so far with BTC.
Very interesting.
710  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS]Cheap Windows 7&8 and MS Office key on: August 31, 2012, 10:46:00 AM
I don't understand one thing clearly.
Why anyone have to buy OS win 7 or 8 from you.
If they buy pc's they have win 7.
If they want win 8, they can get win 8 LEGALLY for 19.99$

If they already have any windows OS (XP, Vista, 7), then they can upgrade to win 8 LEGALLY by paying 39.99$

What it the profit if bought from you?
711  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Its Official Pirate Has Defaulted!! on: August 29, 2012, 07:15:38 PM
We already got Bitcourt & Bitpolice.
Soon we need Bitgovernment to help Bitcoin
712  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Its Official Pirate Has Defaulted!! on: August 29, 2012, 08:50:49 AM
It may be 100% silly or ridiculous, but still has something.
VHS tapes got popular by porn.
CD got popular by porn.
Even internet became popular by porn.

But in Bitcoin, there is nothing to attract every one.
doing good thing wont get that much attraction.
Do bad or wrong or illegal things, then it will spread like a wild fire.
pirateat40 seems doing things in the way he want 100% perfectly.

This particular scam will attract many in the REAL world, not just this virtual world.
So if no news, then make news, get attraction & attention.
Bitcoin needs attention of everyone like torrents.
Common man needs to know what is Bitcoin, so that everyone use it.

It is due to cpu miner in guiminer.exe
714  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GUI mining - updated Feb 19 with poclbm bugfix on: August 26, 2012, 03:30:50 PM
I was able to locate my old guiminer installer from my old HD and run Norton Internet Security.

I got a trojan with the name, Trojan.ADH.2, detected and deleted by my AV.

Should I be concern with this?

If you run this miner in only a mining rig, then no problem.
But if you running it in a pc which you also store bitcoins , games .....then better avoid it.

717  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Bitcoin Savings & Trust - Money Returned List (One reported). on: August 25, 2012, 11:43:42 AM
I just got my invite to gpumax yesterday.  I spent all night getting things setup.

Then I started to wonder what the real benefit of the site was and had a hard time figuring it out. I can manage my miners just as easy without it.  And the only reason I could figure for people buying shares would be to test out a new pool (can't be many of those) or to gamble on a pool getting lucky. It didn't seem like enough to sustain the site.  So I started to read up on the man at the top.

I thought the same, until I racked my brains and thought of a really cool occasional use of the hashpower.  Not sure if that's what pirate's customers are using it for, but there's a good chance.

Think hard and you might come up with a reason for its existence too.
GPUmax can be used as a centralized server or node or anything, to control Bitcoin, if 51% attacks happen by anyone.
718  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Multiple wallets in a computer with out giving dizziness, nausea on: August 24, 2012, 12:05:14 PM
I don't know, its already done are not.
So, I am asking here.

In the original client the wallet to keep money is named as wallet.dat.
If i need to have 2 or 3 wallets in same computer, then i have to rename it, check it, un rename it..........

If i have 3 wallets, then i have to rename 1st wallet to check the amount in 2nd wallet.
Then have to again rename & copy, paste.....................
Just thinking it makes my head spin.

I just want the default client to name wallet as the user wishes.
The owner must have the ability to rename or give any name to wallet.dat for to have multiple wallets in same computer.

If some one has 4 wallets then they must be able to create or rename the wallets from Bitcoin client itself,
Like cold.dat, hot.dat, online.dat, offline.dat...........

I see this feature is already in multibit & also may be in other clients, but all are in alpha state.
Of course even Bitcoin original client itself in beta stage.

But I want this function must be included in main client itself, as users now force to have more than one wallets to secure data(Bitcoin money here)

If its already there, please someone give me a link.
Thanks.
