Good thing DOPE hasn't had a shady past other than that manual coin swap. The DOPE devs better still be accepting swaps and there better be older copies of the blockchains for transparency. If not you end up like CANN.

I only know how to fork ethereum. I never bothered forking bitcoin or peercoin. I would like to fork to Vanilla coins code but don't know how.

You seem a bit confused as you like to use "hype" words such as "built on top of bitcoin". What factom does is use bitcoins blockchain to store hashes with high security. Nothing more than that happens with bitcoin. The idea of storing hashed data on a different blockchain than bitcoin is a good idea. The problem with factom is they are using a centralized mining structure. Centralization loses in the end. Factom could have used and edited bitcoins c++ PoW code base, any c++ PoS code base or any of Ethereums various PoW code bases. Of course none of those code bases have centralized mining. Probably easier to just make a new code base. A decentralized platform for storing hashed data will come out before the next few years are up. It will be more secure and cheaper than Factom. There was really no point in building Factom other than to help someone else create a decentralized cryptocoin/blockchain that stores hashes similar to how factom does it. |

Does everyone like my plan of switching this to Etereums code base? It would be PoW for the first 11 months and then maybe full PoS or PoW+PoS once the new Ethereum code is out. This would make the coin GPU mining so whoever is mining this with the scrypt ASICs might get mad.
I actually don't have much of any coin. A few million THC bounty would be amazing.
I kind of don't want to switch because of the blockchain. The whole thing with the blockchain is that it is long in history. |

Factom is centralized garbage. I got tricked into buying this from some guy at a conference. Now I understand "early-investors" of projects pay conferences to send their sock puppets to talk at the event and promote their public crowdsale or future investment rounds.
Factom deceived me with the word "federated" which actually means centralized.
Could we get this thing on poloniex yet? They have many other XCP tokens listed. I really want to dump this before everyone else realizes this was a bad idea and dumps.

I think we have 6 users right now LOL. No stats... and there never will be. Any decentralized stat could be faked by a robot.
good point LOL ...bots could fake it. You might be able to count how many nodes there are. Check out how many wallets are staking. If this ever becomes an issue where people like those stats you will see every coin faking them. |

ShapeShift is a basic re-selling service. ShapeShift relies on the API services of Bittrex, Cryptsy and maybe Poloniex. Step 1 is get listed on one or more of those 3 exchanges. Then ShapeShift can add FCT? What's the ticker? Factom is so amateur. This is what happens when a centralized service tries to sneak in and make an altcoin. |

That said, I've seen many coins/assets drop below their IPO price. Please, Example any IPOs. For the minute. Are you realize that FACTOM project can be equally compared with ETH project? Are you realize the huge scale of innovations here? I think that you don't. To campare Factoids with scamcoin's IPOs is a big failure. I think you are realizing this. The first big IPO had ETHEREUM past year. FACTOM is the second big blockchain project in IPO history.

GetGemsetc. People are fickle. If they don't start seeing huge price jumps within weeks they start selling. This has nothing to do with the underlying technology or usefulness of the project. Technical superiority doesn't always win in the market place. I guess no one will know the actual price till an actual exchange picks it up.
I'm extremely surprised none of the well-known exchanges have done so already. The software works.... I would not say those would be considered blockchain 2.0 projects, like factom. +1 It's not correct to compare those tiny projects with the top-notch blockchain 2.0 unique Factom project backing by big investors and independent company with top developers team on the board. Yes I agree. It's horrible to compare low-end projects like GEMZ, AUGUR and FACTOM with the top-notch projects like ETH, AMP and SJCX. We need an exchange like poloniex and price could go up pretty high before this garbage dumps below ICO price. |

Bitz needs btc, hype and work
I have tried various strategies to advertise BITZ but it is difficult to get any market penetration. The market is simply over saturated with coins and trends. Now we have all the Ethereum clones coming up like Shift and Expanse etc. and people like to follow trends like that and cash in. It is difficult, and not desirable to try and follow up with new features etc. A year ago, I was thinking along the lines of technical development and novel features to promote and to develop BITZ and we had (still have) some good ideas that may or may not be implemented. As I said before, there is no need and no demand for this and so serves no purpose. Lately, I have come to realise that BITZ and Bitcoin and Litecoin and numerous other cryptos are meant to be "digital money" and serve the same purpose of money but without the central organisation through banks and governments. This is what cryptos were initially made for and this is were BITZ will go. BITZ is a form of "digital money" and I guess the design philosophy was around that concept. Everyone has been caught up in a race for 'innovation', 'features' and various exotic PoS schemes and to invent / re-invent uses for the underlaying blockchain technology but none of this will make cryptos useful in the real world. I think that if we were to follow through and take part in this race for innovation with BITZ it would detract from the purpose for which it was made, to be a simple to use digital currency. What will make a crypto useful and hence valuable is directly related to its usefulness and the innovation must be in ways to create markets and demand for the currency. In an analogy from fiat money; it's is nice and satisfying to have a fiat note made of high-tech paper that changes colour with the seasons, where your fingerprints don't stick and with 3D holograms but ultimately useless if can't buy anything. This is a good call. The tech behind BITZ is amazing and can scale quite large. It's time that this digital money serves some purpose. |

Could immix.xyz be used to host a staking wallet for my BITZ? I'll look into it...you wanna run a web wallet? Like the block-explorers and exchanges? I have some BITZ in paper wallets. I have too many PoS coins to run them all from home on my 1 computer. I was thinking I would set up a $5 or $10 cloud server at digitalocean.com to stake my coins and help secure the network. You're $1.5 server sounds a lot better. |
