861  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you have a Bitcoin exit strategy? on: February 23, 2021, 07:55:44 AM
I think I am in a kind of self-inflicted hold mode!  Grin Even when I want to sell some deserved profit I don't sell. I guess what makes a true difference for it is that, holding the coins on my personal wallets going to the hassle of unlocking these funds via my private keys mainly discourages me.
I'm bound to hold, that's it.

You will be highly rewarded my friend. I'm holding since 2013 and haven't sold a bit. The temptation is high but if I could resist so many years... a few more years will bring me the financial freedom, I'm sure about that!
I sounded funny but reality is that I believe in bitcoin a lot. From the moment I read the whitepaper I fell in love with it.
How is it even possible that a tool like bitcoin doesn't resonate with people? People are so blind in terms of finance and economics that something like bitcoin can't be possible. Our overlords tried hard to dismiss bitcoin in the eyes of the public but that can't be done anymore and I hope an increasing number of people will see what we've seen already.
862  Economy / Speculation / Re: When to sell BTC: $80K, $100K or $150K? on: February 22, 2021, 11:37:05 AM
Wanting to sell with some clear planning made ahead? Look no further than this
https://jlopp.github.io/bitcoin-savings-plan/
You can easily define how to get out and take profit at selected intervals and finally forget to worry about when to sell.
The idea of this savings plan sparkled from the following amazing thread started by rpietila

863  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 22, 2021, 11:32:15 AM
Looks like we're headed down for a bit

No problem, probably good to cool down a bit, shake some weak hands out. I wouldn’t mind a bit of sideways, low volatility before we start moving up again.
Me too, particularly if some shitcoin leftovers I have might gain something in BTC terms and I'm eventually able to liquidate them for good!

865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest on: February 22, 2021, 11:26:10 AM
Wanting to invest a few bucks and see some potential returns in the future?
Take a snapshot of the top-10 coins (leave bitcoin aside): when these coins go down 5% buy them and when they go up 10% sell them. If you are able to do some bot script to do that for you via APIs then you are all set.
It's indeed risky but you might get fortunate enough.
866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on BNB (Why it won’t replace ETH) on: February 22, 2021, 11:22:09 AM
I would have never put a single cent on BNB when it was created but I now have to admit I was proven wrong since I like the way BNB and its corresponding blockchain has been developed.
Ethereum is struggling to fuel the countless applications that are being deployed over its VM and it is logic that new projects look for more reliable ecosystems.
BNB is a big threat to ETH so long as ethereum doesn't scale its clogged environment.
867  Economy / Economics / Re: MicroStrategy Buys $250M in Bitcoin, Calling the Crypto ‘Superior to Cash’ on: February 22, 2021, 11:17:23 AM

Never got a single call from him Wink
A true bitcoiner has low time preferences:
Don’t spend in silly things today, hodl, and save for later.
Try to explain bitcoin to a nocoiner, be called a fool, then being recognised right years later.
Delayed satisfactions are way better than immediate ones.
Those times are way over now, personally speaking. I don't talk bitcoin in public anymore as I've spent too much time explaining bitcoin to my masses and I realized that I had to push the IF you don't get it I don't have the time to explain it to you. The very few who listened to me now enjoy a much more relaxed life for sure  Wink
I remember specifically mentioning that I wanted to be called by him when companies would have started thinking of bitcoin in terms of reserve asset (2016).
Never got a single call from him Wink
You wanted him to call you and apologize for how stupid he was and for how smart you were in 2016.. once it was unambiguously shown...   Do people really do that?  Not too common, but some people will admit if they are confronted about how surprised they are regarding a direction that happened that was outside of their previous expectactions.
I wanted nothing from him really, I don't care Wink It was a memory that came to my mind reading fillippone's post.
868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Football Gambling System: A Betting Experiment on: February 22, 2021, 11:11:26 AM
After all, we are talking $3 to start with.
It doesn't look like much, but notice in the results how that stake of $3 can quickly become a stake of over $700 if you your have multiple losing rounds in a row.
That applies to every gambling strategy and it's clear that if a system like yours need to be played it would be very important to arrange some risk management plan to define what is the maximum amount we can basically afford to lose. It makes a hug difference to be able to cope with, let's say, a $700 or $7000 loss.
Still, I see your strategy as something I could re-work on my own if I some free time.
869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk: "Bitcoin is almost as bs as fiat money" on: February 21, 2021, 10:12:25 AM
Don't know what to say about it as it makes no sense; it's almost impossible to understand what's the agenda behind Musk's tweets.
I believe he's kind of playing with fire trying to probably see whether twitter will start flagging his tweets as some derailed financial advice or not.
He can't keep making the weather here.
870  Economy / Economics / Re: Risk-takers always ahead financially on: February 21, 2021, 10:05:17 AM
Taking risks may well be a great way to achieve some big financial profits abut like many others point out the most important part of it all, at the end of the day, is to balance those risks. Risk management at its finest is required to to maintain and raise financial gains!
Take advantage of stop-losses if you are in a great profit and don't risk too much. It is really unnecessary.
871  Economy / Economics / Re: MicroStrategy Buys $250M in Bitcoin, Calling the Crypto ‘Superior to Cash’ on: February 21, 2021, 09:57:11 AM
Apparently, they completed the sale of their convertible bond:

Please note that they allocated 14 days to perform the sale, but only one day was enough.

This could explain the price action, either or they already bought 1.05 Billion, or they are going to buy this soon!

I don't know if this got explained well but we are talking about some billions (B) $ buys at market prices, insane to say to least. I mean who'd have thought that, say, 5 years ago.
I remember I was with a colleague of mine probably in 2016 when I was working for my previous company and I was discussing bitcoin's upside potential. I remember I kind of used what are now the main planB's points I and was labelled a fool.
I remember specifically mentioning that I wanted to be called by him when companies would have started thinking of bitcoin in terms of reserve asset (2016).
Never got a single call from him Wink
872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Football Gambling System: A Betting Experiment on: February 21, 2021, 09:48:01 AM
Kudos Pmalek! It was so amusing to read your OP and the main specs of your experiment, which it looks to have been quite profitable too. I think I had similar ideas in the past but as for many things in my life I lack consistency  Grin
Now in my spare time I'll check to see if some teams like the one youìve picked can be found and start something similar. After all, we are talking $3 to start with.
873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: February 21, 2021, 09:40:55 AM
Bitcoin needs to keep improving its efficiency so anyone can use it even small holders for small transactions.  It doesn't have to be down to the price of paying for each coffee separately, there are solutions for that item problem but at present the fees I see are about 20 dollars for usage which is going to discourage casual or mainstream revenue of Bitcoin by normal people.  I mean the average person is not rich just a regular player with an income modest regularly who perhaps who wants to stay liquid and flexible and requires the blockchain to act similarly.
I do think the price action is elastic because of this, price progression exceeds advancement in utility and required efficiency in the product.   There's a natural cycle where one half of the crypto economy encourages the other to succeed, it will happen but we're talking time here I think.

People talk about BTC going 100k and Im not against that but step outside the focused interest 'bubble' and the world requires a product which serves them not itself or interested parties.   All things are possible but these fees are a red flag that will require us to slow down to work on and fix.    My personal take not just crypto but any business is greater success doesn't come especially via specialist markets it mostly comes from a highly usable easy to utilise product, anything too bulky, slow or awkward will end up being a name left at the side of the road as the world carries on differently with a more humble innovation that provided more for less cost or effort.
Bitcoin gambling could have a huge boost if the Lightning Network will start spreading more, this way users would be allowed to play small without having to worry too much about market conditions and/or enormous fees. AFAIK there're very few casinos right now that allow players to use LN enabled deposits/withdrawals. You want to check below

It's so funny how these nocoiners need to find always some sort of flaw for bitcoin which obviously can't be found because BTC was a spectacular and brilliant achievement that normies can't fully understand.
Great comment Poker Player, merited you for that!

879  Economy / Economics / Re: Citi Can’t Have Its $900 Million Back on: February 19, 2021, 04:20:23 PM
See, this is why we need the banking system to be run on Ethereum. It is crazy that the banks, out of all organizations, are using payment mechanisms without built-in bailout capabilities.
Ethereum can never be good for that.
This is a simple IT management problem as the banking IT infrastructure is a dinosaur that needs to be rebuilt from the ground.
