861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin halving make cryptocurrencies reach all time high again? on: May 04, 2020, 05:17:17 PM
People thought that, the advent of Bitcoin halving will always bring about the price of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general to a high all time but the fate of this year price seem unknown. It might interest you to know that, the price will fully come on play I year after the Bitcoin halving, so, the rise in the price of cryptocurrency will be 2021 or 2022. For those who thought that, the price will grow after they have purchased some stash should be mindful of the price skyrocket. Holding on a long-term will only be beneficial for those who hold some stash.
862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Mayor Wants to Re-open Casinos. Thoughts? on: May 03, 2020, 07:56:39 PM
That's insane. This is not the time for it, especially when covid-19 is nowhere near under control.

Yeah, even the vaccines aren't find yet and someone want to find another issue to himself or the family. The relaxation form the lockdown should not be sewn as an opportunity for anybody or group to get together their businesses which is or are likely to attract huge crowd like gambling platforms. I think life is the first before talking about the funds from the business. Covid-19 still ravaging countries and causing deaths for both young and old and should be follow with social distances after relaxation. Las Vegas should wait for the sake of lives.
863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Gambling Life During Quarantine on: May 03, 2020, 07:48:33 PM
It has been more than 40 days now I am under lockdown and I have not gambled yet. I did not feel like gambling in this period of uncertainty. No clue as to when things might get normal or I will have my job, too many things in my mind at the moment. Therefore did not have the urge to gamble at all.

It is nice that people are giving gambling as break as much required for people who are addictive this is a very good time as well to get away from it. Also for many people not sure about the job prospects and how recession would be hit so also better to start saving money rather than playing and losing it.

For some gamblers they will readjust their ways of gambling during this time whike some won't change for good. We all know that, fu D's aren't made available for some gamblers and if they had the funds won't stop to continue their gambling acts. Some gamblers know how to save or manager their funds why others are always mindless with their spending while gamble.

For recession which has been spoken about by expert, gamblers will still find their ways around the situations and still get their funs. Except those who sole aims to gamble is for them to make a living.
864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gaming and Mobile Sport Betting May Be Legal After Covid-19 End??? on: May 03, 2020, 04:37:49 PM
Everything about cryptocurrency isn't illegal in my country and sport betting aren't prohibited in the country. Currently, the country is still on the lockdown and many sport betting centres have already been opening for some sort gamblers in the area. Probably, the end of covid-19 will only add to the population that are going to join the gambling world, as I have already noticed new faces on one of my casinos. Believe me, some countries will legalize gambling and some may put up a restrictions for gamblers only to gamble online to avoid body contact and also to obey social distances. This prediction is likely to be positive if we're ready to fight against covid-19.
865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest in this new IEO on: May 02, 2020, 10:48:20 PM
Hello, I am new to blockchain and I stumbled on how successful Binance IEO is and the recent IEO conducted there, I witnessed how the coin price spiked after IEO. So i discovered that Latoken is about conducting an IEO. Is it a wise decision to invest?

If you're to invest on IEO, you should be more careful with your investment, that's choose the project with good team and prospect, that which will not have a failed IEO. There are many conducted IEOs before now on Latoken and many were not successful as you think it is. Doing one own research before invest on IEO still remains the best option. Also, ensure to invest what you can looose in the process. Remember, investment through IEO isn't an express to success in this industry.
866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dump or HODL these coins? on: May 02, 2020, 09:46:44 PM
Am holding from 2018 when the market went down, holding the stash was one of my greatest action I have taken so far in life as it was a difficult one to take. At a time I wasn't haven literally nothing called spendable cash but I kept the coins till now and they have equally appreciated in their price. Probably I will be making some 60% gains when the market fully come to play, even at that, these coins have been worked upon by their team project. Holding is more rewarding that dumping IMO.
867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think sport betting and gambling casinos are the first business to get up on: May 01, 2020, 11:04:31 AM
There is a high tendency that the gambling industry will be the last to resurrect after this pandemic when I talk about profit taking. Never a new thing with us as the world is battling the ravaging covid-19 which make countries pronounced total lockdown on their citizens. The only quick recovery businesses will be those at the groceries and those at the pharmaceutical industry. Being that, many humans will like to feed and stay healthy after the relaxation of this lockdown. Having the funds to gamble online won't be easy for those citizens(those who are gamblers) as many will go for their feeding and health issues be sorted out.
868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which of the two will you choose as a gambler? on: May 01, 2020, 10:24:11 AM
Keybase ofcourse, there are many ways and options one can manipulate to expose your identity on the web. What had me challenged backed then was my investment on a platform that went down without my notice in 2015. Then, I used option one(email and 2fa) this couldn't help me even though I tried my humanly possible best to protect my investment. There is a saying that" no system is safe online " this facts are true, due to this, option two is better and secure, if you're investing a huge amount of funds online.
869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you committed, or considered committing, illegal act to finance gambling? on: May 01, 2020, 09:58:41 AM
This keeps me wondering if there are still gamblers who haven't carried out an illegal act just to satisfy their urge in gambling.

Quote
Why think of that.

Because, I wonder how many have done such illegal acts even though the law sees them minors and parents ignored. Oh!, don't you think we have all committed something in this regard? I do in my infantry during one of our famous festival. Things have changed and I have learnt my own lessons from childhood.

Quote
Of course, there is.

Then, let him or her wash hands in public.

Quote
The gambling community is so vast and the situation you shared is just one of the negative effects of doing gambling. Don't generalized it on a whole.
~~~
In sincerity, many of us have been victim of this act mate, except, those who never understand the world "Gambling" from childhood. I now believe that, many of us here aren't gamblers from childhood because if you does, you must be among this class of persons. This facts are arguable.
870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping as a gambler? on: April 28, 2020, 06:33:31 PM
~~~~~
To my co-gamblers: these days are tempting, ensure to be more careful with your savings and "never gamble what you can't afford to lose"
It's been a month now, have you said it already on your family and do you still continue being in this situation?
<snip>
Thanks to ask mate, what happened was for me to learn a lesson and I have learned my lesson in this regard. What happened have been put in the  past and.nothing will ever push me to carryout such stupidity. Also, I have come to a reality that, "gamble what you can afford to lose" is the best way to gamble, this has be what am practicing right now in practical.
871  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you committed, or considered committing, illegal act to finance gambling? on: April 28, 2020, 06:13:32 PM
Look at the survey data https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5244174.0
According to Columb & O'Gara (2017), 75% of 208 users "had to borrow or sell to fund gambling." I think gamblers take too much risk at this point.
<snip>

  Cheesy thanks for the surveyed data share with us. This got me confused some days ago while I was reading through the  comments on this thread, some were actually factual about their involvement while many others (bigger percentage never admitted they're or were involved in such act, even throughout their childhood) this got my attention. According to the survey data presented, 75% is a huge number of involvement in this case.

Remember: those under borrow are more at a higher risk than those who sell( if only the property sold belong to the gambler, else the worst). We have see cases were someone will sell what belongs to the family just to gamble.
872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you committed, or considered committing, illegal act to finance gambling? on: April 27, 2020, 11:03:13 AM
I don't think the subject fits the scenario OP provided, why? Because it states, "to finance gambling", but the reason why the person got arrested is because he wants to take back the losses........................

Can a gambler get back His or Her loses without finding ways to finance the process?. As clearly stated at the OP, he gambled and lost, he was desperate to get back his lose, he then source for funds through illegal means. How does this not correspond with the subject above?. Re-reading the thread will give you a clearer picture to present your argument on a clearer note.
873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you committed, or considered committing, illegal act to finance gambling? on: April 26, 2020, 09:05:12 PM
The criminal activity not related to the activity like gambling, its just related to their behaviour so asking this can make gambling as bad thing in others point of view.People steal or loot for many reasons but when they get caught they will say this as an excuse.Only gamble if you can afford to lose money or just work until you can afford for it.

IMO, this won't portray gambling negatively, rather reshaping many gamblers fond doing things under the disguise of being a gambler illegally. Personally, I can vouch for this neighbor, he's been a good headed man in the neighborhood and not what you imagine mate. His records are clean, other neighbors wandered what could be the issue that push him to carryout such illegal act. I know him as a decent gambler without bad records. His betted tickets proves were still with him, when the local police came to make the arrest. He's just a public victim mate and I pity him on this. Hope others learn from his mistakes.
874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why most gamblers can never hold onto big bag? on: April 26, 2020, 07:25:15 PM
<snip>

How come he lost everything one day? Do most of the gamblers lose money in such way?

Oh, another greedy fellow who fell again. This is a clear symptom of greediness on the part of the gambler, anyone of then who don't take profit whenever signs are clearly shown during gambling will surely loss their winnings to platforms{gambling}. He or she{Victim} wanted to make more huge profits before he signs out but unfortunately he ran into Waterloo in the process. Stop be greedy gamblers; this has affected 95% of gamblers to loss when they supposed to win and be happy. As I have said, many lost inline with this gambler actions and many are still on their way to their loose if not repent from be greedy.
875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping as a gambler? on: April 25, 2020, 08:19:18 PM
Personally, I do gamble during the weekends and sometimes during late hours which is more convenient for me due to my nature of job. This has nothing to do with addiction, if you ask me.
This is a different problem when calling it a job, gambling addicts are not concerned with losses and they do not have an impact on sleep difficulties despite losing bets. Still, if your nature is the job then any value of loss will make it difficult to sleep and even they tend to stop gambling due to large losses.

For clarification purpose, I didn't mean gambling is my job mate  Grin, but that; the only time convenient for me to gamble is during weekends and sometimes into the night hours. This shouldn't be seen as any form of addiction on my part. Any gambler can choose to gamble with his time in as much its convenient. My reply was to a quote above you which said: those who gamble into the night hours are likely to be gambling addicts, and was just trying to prove a point.
876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you committed, or considered committing, illegal act to finance gambling? on: April 25, 2020, 07:48:34 PM
Why on earth would you expect anyone here to simply confess their sins just like that and ruin their reputation in this forum?
It makes sense  Cheesy I guess there is someone out there but there is no way he will confess his illegal act here, you are right it will surely ruin his reputation. To OP: Your thread is nice but I don't know if someone will confess it here, maybe if he will make an alternate account for confession use only.........

Some have already shared their involvement in the act which was done out of ignorance and have since changed for the good. We're all different here and don't know each other in a real  world, even though there is, they're handful individuals. Nothing like ruining ones reputation sincerely speaking, share information with slight difference from the real can't ruin someone reputation. This can go along way to help others correct their wrong doings and change for the better.
877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you committed, or considered committing, illegal act to finance gambling? on: April 25, 2020, 06:30:55 PM

Have you ever carried out an illegal act just to finance your gambling?
No, and this is an honest answer. Though some may not believe in me but this is true.
Since I only get to know to gamble when the time I earn money for myself. The only stuff I did before was I borrow money from a friend, which includes lying on where I will be using it, and selling my own stuff just to satisfy myself in gambling.

Same is my answer as I also never commit any illegal work only to play gambling or do anything else. I am dead sure that if we play gambling from theft money, we will definitely lose that money and that money will not bring good things to our lives. Even I never took loan to play gamble because this is another risky thing and i avoid it.

Well said, but wait; you mean any money gotten illegally can't generate profit for a gambler? Oh, this could be real or not in some cases. Believe me or not, 97% gamblers are those who have gotten their wealth illegally, many have gotten through cheating the platforms they gambled. This reminds me about some forum members who have been accused of cheating gambling platforms through diverse means. Illegally acquired funds to gamble doesn't guarantee the gambler failure or success as gambling depends on strategy and luck.
878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping as a gambler? on: April 25, 2020, 04:16:30 PM
Those people or a player who gonna play until midnight is sign that you are being addicted because that time is people are going to sleep or they are rest now. But maybe because you have difficult to play is because you have think that you gonna want to play more and win when you play .

Personally, I do gamble during the weekends and sometimes during late hours which is more convenient for me due to my nature of job. This has nothing to do with addiction, if you ask me. Although you're right for some group of individuals who are ambitions of winning which without they will continue their gambling. Many of such are likely to develope symptoms of addiction along the line, if not be control earlier. For those with families are not found in this group knowing fully well that; they're to be with their  families during night hours.

Why on earth would you expect anyone here to simply confess their sins just like that and ruin their reputation in this forum?

As stated in the OP, many wouldn't like this ldea to share their undead with other forum members due to reputation. But considering the fact that, this can be presented slightly away from the real story which can help others out there to be more careful while gamble. Well, no cause of alarm for anyone who choose to confess their real involvement in the act as we're all strangers here and real identities not known to us(Forum members) accept Theymos alone. It's better to speak up to help others.
880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Have you committed, or considered committing, illegal act to finance gambling? on: April 25, 2020, 11:54:24 AM
Just wondering how humans(Gamblers) can be so cruel in satisfying their wants to others detriment. This keeps me wondering if there are still gamblers who haven't carried out an illegal act just to satisfy their urge in gambling.  Something happened in my neighborhood today: A Man who we'll know as a good neighbor has just been arrested for stealing during this lockdown period, this was done because he gambled a day before yesterday and lost. According to him, he wanted to steal the funds to get back his lost but was caught in the process and had been handed over to the local police for further investigation.

He's just a public victim here. Although, many wouldn't like to share their experience with us on this, because of their reputation, but will appreciate the sincere response from forum members in this regard.

Have you ever carried out an illegal act just to finance your gambling? Remember this: many have stolen from their parents or from friends to finance their gambling, were you caught or not?  Share your experience with the us and equally advise when necessary.
