tether's been a long time bcash boogeyman. i'm sure there are some nefarious things going on but people do have the presence of thought to realise if it blows up every single coin plummets too, right?
better find something else to make things feel comprehensible instead.

What were the steps to actually claiming it though? I couldn't find a guide anywhere.
you can't claim it yet. that's to come. you had to have more than 0.01 at block 498,777. december 12th ish. and you had to have an outgoing tx between november 12th and january 3rd from the address to qualify. i'll believe it when i see it. They don't even have to send me those coins back. I'd totally settle for actual Bitcoins. What do they expect these things are worth? Is there a futures market? this is a real sexy selection of markets. blue chip stuff right there. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/united-bitcoin/#markets

ripple is not a crypto currency. ripple is in no way competition for bitcoin. they exist for completely different reasons. i kind of pity the people who can't figure this out. ripple is also five years older than bitcoin and as of today has achieved absolutely nothing other than a pump.

visa ordered one shonky company to stop playing. that's it. they did not destroy all crypto. this one shonky company supplied almost all visa cards in euros and pounds. there was no alternative card provider apart from a few expensive obscurities. visa cards in america with better suppliers work just fine. let's put the 'establishment attack' memes to bed right now. 'Visa said the cards had been suspended after Visa terminated WaveCrest's membership due to "continued non-compliance with our operating rules", although it said other Visa cards that convert Bitcoin into normal currency would not be affected.' http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2018/01/05/visa-locks-bitcoin-payment-cards-crackdown-card-issuer/

and there are only 48,000 more people ahead of you on the waiting list. vapourware doesn't really help anyone who wants to spend something right this moment.

Bitcoin aka Shitcoin will be dumped again. It unavoidable. Bitcoin is inferior to so many altcoins, that the true altcoin is really Bitcoin
then go all in right now on any piece of crap that isn't bitcoin right this very second. good luck with that one. i think it may not work out how you plan. bitcoiners have a blind spot when it comes to taking alts seriously. alt fanbois have absolutely the same problem in the opposite direction. everyone should be owning both and they'll be a bunch more relaxed.

So how do you claim it? Do you import your private keys into their wallet or what? My addresses were showing zero balance when I checked them.
Edit: Unconfirmed Balance 0 UBTC Final Balance 0 UBTC
The UBTC is showing Unutilised but the balance is full and correct, how do you make sense of this?
i can't make any sense of it. i don't know what's qualified and what hasn't. the addresses i entered should've but there's no indication that anything worked. and i don't think i have an address that had balance that's done nothing to compare it with. we'll have to wait until they announce how it'll happen. it's probably gonna annoy a large amount of people whatever they do. this is one they definitely will be stealing as it hasn't moved for a long time - https://www.ub.com/explorer/address?address=1F34duy2eeMz5mSrvFepVzy7Y1rBsnAyWCi can't see the difference apart from some ubtc dust left behind.

I saw a thread demanding people include a segwit address or be considered persona non grata, is that something mycelium might include btw
Yep, adding SegWit receiving addresses to Mycelium would definitely help people save some on fees. ain't gonna happen by the looks of things. i really wish it would. going forward this will be the number one reason people move on, albeit reluctantly.

I cannot believe that this thread has made it to so many pages.
thanks for the input mr brand new account. that's really gonna help the cause no end. i'm sure convinced now. now back to skepticism as usual.

nope. it's europeans today too. that one you've linked to is an old story. americans are still ok. everyone else is now screwed. this is because almost all of these cards only go through one company. if that one company has problems then it's goodbye everything basically. they're all claiming they're gonna find a new provider. it'll be interesting to see if they manage it. i'm doubtful.

Your nerves will calm down once you pushed 80% or more of your coins into cold storage / paper wallets. The only time when your nerves will give you the shits, is when you have to sweep some to a online wallet. I prefer to store small quantity of coins to multiple wallets, to reduce the risk of losing everything in one hack. nope. i'm as secure as you can be and i still crap myself. even if hacking has gone on the backburner, mistakes are now right up there. i don't think it's ever gonna leave me.

Trevor and ledger are the main ones. There are also others like keepkey and digitalbox.
Personally I'd want one with the most development and eyes on it which is ledger and trezor.

That bitcoincash guys are aiming to cause others buy bcash. This will never happen. It's now at number four on the list, but we will probably see it at number 10 or below. It will lose significant value on the market soon.
that's the main upside of this ridiculous penny alt pump. anything that pushes bcash further into nowhere is fine by me. pretty soon the junk proof of work coins will be semi forgotten in favor of junk proof of how stupid pumpers are tokens.

how many people here now crap themselves when using their wallets because there's so much value in them?
back in the day i never thought twice about throwing coins around. these days my heart starts hammering and my sight goes fuzzy restoring and moving wallets. i double and triple check every address, check seeds every time, run a million anti virus things even though they're hardware wallets. and i'm not even that rich.
how do the people with millions do it without cracking up completely? we all know a couple of wrong clicks can send everything into oblivion.

TRX rises unbelievably, What a golden opportunity I missed? damn .. Why I missed it? I didn't see any discussion about TRX before,
which is all you need to know to tell you that it's coordinated pump by a small group of insiders. it has now ignited other buyers but moves like this are not organic and don't come from nowhere. this is probably an even bigger insult than ripple's current price. the cmc top ten should be ringing alarm bells for bubble watchers.

I don't think there's a single exchange with free withdraws.
i've heard enough people say gdax is free but surely they can't carry on for much longer. certain withdraws must far outweigh whatever trading fees they make out of you.

as far as i can tell it's an erc20 token that doesn't even have its own wallet. how something like that can reach tens of billions should be a wake up call for anyone who thinks the current action is sustainable. that said i wouldn't put it past going a lot higher.

This pump caused by south korea that massively adopted ripple as the payment method.
the pump was caused by korea adopting ripple as the latest pump. you can't pay for squat with it and you probably never will. if warren buffet called bitcoin a mirage i truly wonder what he'd call this.
