861  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: did you place all your funds into bitcoin? on: April 20, 2017, 08:52:00 PM
Its always good to divide your funds into smaller baskets. only invest/trade or gamble what you can afford to loose. From that ammount put a bigger share in less risky stuff. IMO Bitcoin is less risky than alts so i would put a bigger part in BTC, and a smaller part in alts.
862  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: can I make 100$ in 2-3 month without a base money? on: April 20, 2017, 08:48:45 PM
I would try a sig campaign for an alt coin. and then use the first pump when it joins a small exchange. aside from that i would claim some faucets...maybe litcoin and dogecoin faucet. after that....praying might help:) just kidding. We all know that get money from alts is not impossible, and with the market expansion there is money to be maid. I just think that 2, 3 or more months are required just to learn , move around and possibly loose a few dollars or ponzi and easy money scams.
863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 20, 2017, 09:24:28 AM
It's funny how a scamcoin just passed xmr in marketcap, xmr should go down big eventually but i will not do any stupid shorts.

ETC is only a scamcoin if you think the original Ethereum ICO was a scam or something (not debating that). It's the original Ethereum blockchain without the insider bailout. Less of a scamcoin than ETH, not more, imo.

Well did they develop anything themselves in the meantime? If not they are as scammy as ETH as they didnt add no value besides of being the classic unchanged chain.

Why would or should they develop anything themselves? It is just the original ETH chain without the bailout. Not having a bailout doesn't require a whole new and separate development effort.

So yes, in that sense I would say it is as scammy as the original ETH. Since it is the original ETH.

Although not for me, as i was late for that party, but it was a nice way for people do double coins witout any effort:) So when you say that you donīt make money without working... this might be the perfect exception Smiley

This is April 17th announcement

April 17, 2017
This announcement is further to our announcement about withdrawal delays on April 13, 2017.

Beginning April 18, 2017, all incoming wires to Bitfinex will be blocked and refused by our Taiwan banks. This applies to all fiat currencies at the present time. Accordingly, we ask customers to avoid sending incoming wires to us until further notice, effective immediately.

We continue to work on alternative solutions for customers that wish to either deposit or withdraw in fiat, and are making progress in this regard. We will continue to update our customers as and when we have more information to share.

We're dedicated to bringing you the best platform possible. If we made any mistakes or if you have any suggestions please get in touch. support@bitfinex.com / @bitfinex

866  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: freebitco.in Annual investment on: April 17, 2017, 10:08:51 PM
It's been a month since FreeBitco.in started paying 4% interest on balances.

Who's taking advantage of this offer? What are your thoughts so far? Daily payments hitting accounts as expected?
I have a really small amount there. The interest is coming in smoothly.
4% is not a lot, but as far as it being less than any bank... It depends on what part of the world you are. For europe right now with Euribor in negative values most banks are paying 0% interest on the deposits.

zero percent?!...even in fixed deposit?

Fixed deposits. I can give you an example. In Santander bank, portuguese branch. An online fixed depsoit for 6 months or 1 year as a rate of 0,05 to 0,1%. And that is gross rate...
You can get around 1% in a fixed deposit in one or two banks to atract new clients or new capital. The inflation rate will be between 1,1 and 1,5....so 4% on freebitcoin is not that bad comparing to this reallity:)
867  Economy / Exchanges / What are your thoughts on Bitfinex "banking" troubles on: April 17, 2017, 07:14:06 PM
Bitfinex is stating that taiwanese banks are blocking all incoming fiat deposits to bitfinex and are advising people not to deposit fiat for the time being.
Any thoughts on that?
868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [RaiBlocks] RaiBlocks trading thread on: April 17, 2017, 08:18:24 AM
Is it on the exchange? But also to buy it in this thread?

I really donīt get why people find it strange to trade altīs outside exchanges. I can understand itīs risky. But you have a whole section called currency exchange devoted to trading BTC in the forum. I dont see people screeming to trade BTC only in exchanges.
MRAI is being traded on exchange, MRAI is being traded here.
No big deal.
869  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HOW MUCH YOU EARN/LOSE FROM TRADING on: April 16, 2017, 11:27:36 AM
When you talk about winning or loosing it depends on how you look at it. It depends on what you are comparing and what are your expectations.

Take this example. At some time i bought eth at a peak btc price and now it is lower. then i took that eth and make a few trades to usdt and i have more eth than i had before but still not enough to equal the btc i spent initially. So if you look at BTC has your main coin iīm loosing. If I consider eth iīm winning. If iīm looking at fiat, as BTC price went up up up. if i dump my eth to btc and trade btc to fiat i end up with more fiat than my original buy.

So in alt coins, you will loose for sure if you panic sell in a dump. But be carefull if you hold... because that dump could be the actual end of the coin...

MRAI is centralizing around the top 60 faucet claimers... The market wonīt be difficult to control. letīs see if they dump it or hold it for a better profit...
873  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: April 07, 2017, 05:09:24 PM
So what do you guys think about the way exchanges are handling the possible fork. Bitfinex is stating the even BTC in lending will be dealt with as if it was in the wallet. Do you feel safe enough?

There's not enough safety whenever you deal with a third party

Especially if that party already took (or lost, if you disagree) your funds for their own (someone else's) use. Apart from that, could you expand more on what is meant by Bitfinex stating that even bitcoins loaned out will be dealt with? That does it actually mean, that we will not see anything? Could you post a link to their official statement on this issue? I want to see that statement with my own eyes

https://www.bitfinex.com/posts/197

this is the official announcement regarding forks and margin trading. It states a more reassuring approach than other exchanges. Thatīs why i asked if people fill safe "enough" with this reassuring

Okay, thank you for the link

I tried to get as much as I could out of that, and the most important part of their letter seems to be the following:

Quote
After much analysis, we have chosen to handle the accounting of margin trading and funding based on the model of how stock spinoffs, dividends, and distributions are handled in equity markets. Specifically, in the case of a hardfork event, lenders will receive both BTC and BTU. Anyone that is short BTC/USD or long any BTC trading pair (ETH/BTC, LTC/BTC, etc.) will owe BTU to the lender, effectively making the user short BTU. An exception is in the case that BTC is borrowed but not in use as margin collateral, in which case BTU accrues to the lender. Users that are margin long BTC/USD or short any BTC trading pair will receive BTU

As I got it, all BTC lenders will receive the corresponding amount of BTU tokens which should match the amount of bitcoins that they lent out. So far so good. But it is no clear (and I'm afraid that this is intentionally left unexplained and unspecified) what will happen to ordinary traders, not involved in margin trading. What interests me most here is whether they will receive the BTU tokens in the amount that matches their current BTC balances (i.e. at the moment of the split)? A simple question which should be given a definitive answer
That is indeed the most interesting part. Other exchanges like polo clearly state that if you do lend BTC you get BTC, and not BTU.

876  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Trading Bots while you sleep on: April 05, 2017, 09:02:42 PM
It is very important to have trading knowledge when using bots. The days arenīt always the same, the markets as different behaviors and you need to understand what you are asking the bot to do. In a simpler way to know when to turn it on or off, or to adjust its settings to the market and pair specifics for that day
877  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mistakes in trading that lead to loss of money on: April 04, 2017, 06:58:15 PM
Wich would be a bigger mistake when you are bag holding? Selling with a loss to be able to resume trading and eventually recover your loss, or holding if you feel the coin as potencial even if it means you wonīt be trading for a few days/weeks or months?
878  Local / Portugal / Re: Vender Bitcoin em euros on: March 29, 2017, 07:43:16 AM

I think itīs reallistic value, and and site with some reputation. If people are looking for risk free investment, there is no such thing. If people want to use the site with lesser risk just claim the faucet and withdraw. For me it can be another way to diversify.
