Dev,

There appears to be something very strange going on with this coin.
Yesterday my wallet was reporting a nethash of 1500 - 3000 H/s over most of the day, then late last night it dropped to 136 H/s.

I fired up 3 pc's and poinet to my wallet, solomining with 110 H/s (net hash according to wallet, and miner 136H/s).
I mined for over 2 hours, in which 6 -8 blocks were found, the miner and wallet still said 133 - 135 H/s (net) and i was a 100 H/s (50 +30+30)
I did not find 1 block.
I then joined digger pool, and again had 0.1 Kh/s the 2nd guy has 0.08 khs and there was a 3rd in with about 0.02 khs/ so the 3 of us combined was nearly 200 H/s.
The wallet still said 133 - 136 H/s.
In the next 2 hours another 7 blocks were found...none by the pool, and yet we seeming had more than the net total of hash.

This morning, my wallet says we are back up at 2700 - 3073 H/s, and yet with my 15 H/s pointed at digger pool i have found 1 block, in less than 1 hour.

So how can i have 80% of total hashrate last night and yet not find 1 block solo mining, and then this morning with only 0.5% total hashrate find 1 block in less than 1 hour.
I've been mining 4 years, and no all about "luck", but there is def something weird going on here.

Am i on the correct chain / wallet (the block height in my wallet matches the pool) - I'm using wallet v5.3.0.0-g32a928e-cach-wm-alpha. I can't see any links to any other walle

I hope you can shed some light on this please. Last night, statisically with the hashrates as they were, i should have won 6 of those 8 blocks, and the guy below me the other 2, what concerns me more than that it how the pool was contributing 200 H/s, then there would be other solo miners to consider, yet the wallet was reporting only 136 H/s total nethash.

I know you have been working very hard on this, is your new wallet nearly ready, cos having mined this with no issues for the last 2 years, this is now a struggle.

I've been getting 1 block a day on a 2 Core Celeron. I wouldn't exactly say that is difficult.

Hmm,
I'd like to see proof of that please.
I've hit it for 3 days solid with Ryzen 1800X and haven't hit 1 block, and 4 days with Ryzen 1700 and no blocks.
What hash rate are you at please? My 1800X gets 200Kh/s

Hi,

Thanks for coming back to me.

First i must appologise, i was a bit "harsh" with my challenge.
I genuinely didn't believe your figures.
So "Thanks" for proving me wrong, and also for making me re-visit this coin.

Below i have posted all my hashrate...clearly the miner doesn't scale versus threads very well, by the time you get to 8 threads it is nearly 10 down, and once i get away from actual cores to threads only, it get worse much quicker. Most unusual for Ryzen. I was expecting with 16 threads more like 400 kh/s.
Also interesting, these are for my 1800X, the 1700 figures are exactly the same. (within margin of error).

"cryptonomicon25". I have no idea how you are getting 300 kh/s, i can't get that on either PC even O/C ed. That's pretty impressive.

One think i have done though, since i had zero blocks (yep, zero from either machine), i have deleted the wallet and roaming on the 1700 PC, re downloaded the wallet from 1st page, and started from scratch.
Since your posted 10 hours ago, that PC has now found 1 block. The 1800X i have left on the original files and still no blocks.
I will leave it like that for 48 hours.
I am wondering, if the wallet has perhaps been recompiled since day 1, or if i just had a bad install (strange it would be bad on both machines).
So this way i will be able to see if 1 PC starts to dramatically out perform  the other.

So all said, looks like we could really do with a more optimised miner.
Thanks for making me engage my brain

Ryzen 1800X hashrates (stock) 16GB DDR4 1600 MHz

1  thread - 34 kh/s
2  threads - 68 kh/s
3  threads - 103 kh/s
4  threads - 136 kh/s
5  threads - 171 kh/s
6  threads - 204 kh/s
7  threads - 238 kh/s
8  threads - 250-260 kh/s (34 kh/s * 8 = 272 kh/s)
10  threads - 260-270 kh/s
12  threads - 270-277 kh/s
14  threads - 280-283 kh/s
16  threads - 280-286 kh/s

if you look at your hash - the drop is significant after 8 threads. that's usually how ryzen behaves - yours has cpu 8 cores and enables more threads through hyper-threading. most algo hashes are correlated to cores and not threads

I realise that (like i said not an issue with most external miners), but its the fact that i have had 2 pc running 4-6 days at 260Kh/s and not mined 1 single block.....until i re-downloaded wallet

Just being doing the math on this coin.
At N19, if i waste £4 a day on power, i can mine £0.25 a day cache coin.

Before you mine this coin, do the math, it would need to increase in value over 100 fold, or 30,000 sats to be profitable.
N needs dropping to 18, or better still 16 !
In fact why not just make N track nethash rate.

Hello N19

What do you mean ? New algorithm? A new coin?

New N-factor - for the next three years.

Hey great new ...NOT
Been mining this quietly for over 2 years, and now you decide to raise it to N19 so basically no-one but a big farm can mine it.
Let me go spend 10K so i can mine it with my 6x1080ti rig

Great move

This coin was doing fine...why does everyone have to try and fix something that aint broken.
This is the real reason crypto in general is tanking, cos people just have to meedle and try to get rich quick....

Disaappointed..

Just started mining Haven

Downloaded wallet from link above....weird, i have to start daemon seperately and it stays open in a diff window.....not normal

Trying new miner - "xmr-stak-haven-2" on pool "https://mineallcrypto.com/haven" and getting 216H/s CPU and 730H/s (1*1060 6G + 1*1060 3GB) = Total H/s 946 H/s (showing 1.4KH/s on pool side)

All seems to going well...time will tell.

I appreciate all the hard work the devs are putting in.

Stuck Sad

Hi guys,

I'm stuck syncing at block 2332117.
I have tried every wallet, with / without bootstrap.
Even tried Clean install win 7 and 10, and everytime i get stuck at block 2332117.
Any ideas please? Never had this issue with Datacoin before...

J

Hi, will do screen shots, etc as soon as i get back to my pc.
In the mean time, which wallet "should" i use for solo gpu mining please? I'm going to build a  diff PC and start with Win 7 from scratch.

Hi Guys,

Interesting thread, can i ask a question though.

What brings you to mining? What are you hoping to achieve?
J

In my case it is mostly to make servers cores "busy" with at least minimal profitability while not used in other job.
Example...if FEA job optimal setting is 64 cores and it takes all of ram (1024Gb), then I have other 64 cores idling as I can not use them in FEA due to lack of memory... Therefor I use them for mining, to cover at leas 0.01$ of electricity with them.

What is your story?

Smart! I have completely idling server at work, and luckily don't have to pay electircity, so I made it my CPU mining rig. For now I'm accumulating mined coins (mining Credits to get my masternode) and betting for future raise in value.

Reason i was asking is quite simple...
I am completely split by threads like this,
Part of me, loves the info, finding new coins, new charts, etc, BUT the other part of me dies...cos everytime i see these threads, every single coin listed gets hashed to death.

Personally i love deep searching the web to find coins literally no-one is mining and to find a wallet, download the full blockchain and solo mine it, very very steadily, usually only a few hours a week.....then one day, hopefully it will be worth a few quid. (sometimes takes 1-2 years to become valuable).

One classic example was "GNB"...dev made ANN, deleted ANN, made new Ann, messed around a while, ans i just happened to come across it...it was a Scrypt coin, so you know, zillions of GigaHash...but no, no one was mining it, well 4 connections i think...so i mined with gpu (750ti @ 100 kh/s) for 6-8 hours, and made 20,000 coin....i sold 14,000 for 1 sat a week later, and and gave away 1000 coins. Several weeks later, i saw on here 1 post....saying "WOW GNB @ 15000 sats"....by the time i had got my coins to exchange it had risen to 18000 sats...sold the lot, 5000 in 1 hit... so i guess thats what does it for me..."discovery and hope"....and a lot of good luck....i don't get the "melting ure cards for $1/day  or $0.1/day after power- well least not here in the UK"

So, if there are any like minded souls out there, who mine a few "dodgy" coins, a few hours a week, with 1 gpu, and hodl....well perhaps we should get in touch, and mine together descretly.

Hi,

Can some one please explain why POW  is already over?

1100 blocks @ 1 min each takes 1100 mins = over 18 hours, yet this ANN was only opened a few hours ago.

Unfair launch - please relaunch and let people have a fair chance .

877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU mining 2017? on: March 28, 2018, 07:23:11 AM

I have 2x Xeon E5645, not making much from mining, but indeed heating is not an issue in that room Tongue

May I ask please, which coins were you mining?

Using it for storj as I have some extra storage to spare and CPU for aeon at the moment.

Have you received anything from Storj? I ran their software for half month but didnt receive anything at all.

You have to run for at least 1 full month to get paid anything, preferably 2.
The earnings are not bad, but calculating what you get paid and when is terrible...

Dev,

Come on, wake up and fix this coin please.
Why release a coin, no one can mine?
Disappointing...
Solution
just add the command in the wallet (setgenerate true) and people will mine

If you read any of the above comments you'd see that people have tried that and it doesnt work.
As usual, no help from dev...
