Seriously tho, at the end of the day the most straightforward solution would be to simply get in touch with major mining pool operators. Given an attractive enough sponsorship deal you'd surely find operators willing to add your tagline to whatever blocks they mine. Whether this advertising money wouldn't be better spent elsewhere is a different question. Depending on ones intent this would digress from the original idea of incentivising people to use specific mining hardware though, leaving only the advertising aspect.

Bitcoin klammert sich gerade mit Fingerspitzen am > 40k Bereich aber wenn ich mir das Volumen so anschaue würd ich eher davon ausgehen das der Kurs kurzfristig noch mal ein bisschen absackt. Trotzdem denke ich das wir den < 35k Bereich jetzt endgültig hinter uns gelassen haben. Es bleibt spannend in Bitcoinland.

True! Ignoring some of the other practical issues (e.g. pool mining vs solo mining) this brings up another interesting problem though:

1) Assuming non-hardened child private keys, once the private key of a single miner is compromised, the private keys of all miners are compromised [1]. Keeping private keys secure from someone who has full physical access is somewhat possible, but quite a challenge. Especially if the pot is not the contents a single hardware wallet but a whole network of mining hardware.

2) Assuming hardened child private keys, you get rid of the security concern above, but the manufacturer would not be able to verify the signatures [2]. Unless they derive and store each hardened private key in advance which comes with a different host of issues.

So while not especially pretty at least to me it doesn't seem much worse than existing KYC/AML regulations. Except it sounds like a lot more paper work for exchanges.

It's a quick read but nonetheless manages to introduce most of the fundamental rationales behind the design of Bitcoin.

Those "labels" could be easily faked and it would be impossible to reliably verify whether the coins have been mined on hardware by a specific manufacturer.

The only way to "advertise" your hardware brand on the blockchain is by running a pool yourself and some manufacturers actually already do that. (AntPool for example. Bitfury used to run a pool as well, not sure what happened to them. Maybe they just stopped advertising their hashrate)

Naja, so schnell würde Geldwäsche auch nicht verjähren In Deutschland scheint die Verjährung hierfür bei 5 Jahren zu liegen, dazu kommt das bei laufendem Verfahren die Verjährung "pausiert". Insofern könnte sich das schon noch ein bisschen hinziehen.

More on topic though, I think it depends on one's personal risk profile. While Bitcoin has outperformed the stock market the volatility is still not everyone's cup of tea. So while Bitcoin has given vastly better returns it probably also resulted in more sleepless nights for some.

That is assuming that by stock investor you mean someone who is broadly diversified. Going all in on a stock or two will probably give even more sleepless nights than being invested in Bitcoin, while providing only a fraction of returns.

International trade. Most economies require at least some level of export. If your local currency becomes too valuable, export declines which has a negative impact on your local economy. Also increasing the value of a currency will increase the value of debt in said currency. And pretty much all economies run on debt these days.

Rather small indeed, for a family as wealthy as the Rothschilds their BTC holdings are negligible. It's easy to double down if your stake is barely pocket change.

Still interesting to see Bitcoin becoming a staple of a diversified portfolio, even for old money.

Smartass that I am I didn't click on the "Import to Electrum" button but directly copy / pasted the private key from the "Withdraw" page. Also of course I didn't read the note about Electrum requiring a special prefix. Maybe put that part in bold? Not sure. Either way I didn't realize there was new information on that page, blinded by routine I guess.

Dieses grundlegende (unterschätzende) Missverständnis der Funktionsweise von Bitcoin welches nachwievor weit verbreitet ist stimmt mich tatsächlich immer ein bisschen bullish, weil es bedeutet das der Markt noch nicht zu 100% begriffen hat um was für ein Asset es sich handelt.

Auf der Gegenseite gibt's natürlich auch viel Halbwissen welches dazu führt das Kryptowährungen teilweise enorm überschätzt werden, allerdings betrifft das idR eher die Alts und "Blockchain, die Technologie hinter Bitcoin" als Bitcoin selber, insofern... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯



Abhängig von Institut und Forschungsgebiet wird fehlende wissenschaftliche Leistung oft mit bloßer Anwesenheit und Vitamin B ausgeglichen. Da hast du dann Leute welche die Diss rein des Titels willens gerade so deixeln und die sich dann damit einen Namen machen in dem Sie möglichst viele Paper zu möglichst vielen aktuellen Themen raushaun, ungeachtet der Qualität desselben. Clickbait auf akademisch, Quantität über Qualität sozusagen. Keine Ahnung wieviel davon jetzt bei dem Herren der Fall ist, aber mal nur so in dem Raum gestellt. Für einen Wirtschaftler trotzdem peinlich, weil's da ja um einen Aspekt geht von dem er eigentlich Ahnung haben sollte.

Achtung bzgl. Binance:

Clear Junction hat mit 12 Juli auf Grund der Entscheidung der britischen FCA die Zusammenarbeit mit Binance beendet [1]. Das bedeutet das momentan auf unbestimmte Zeit per SEPA weder eingezahlt noch ausgezahlt werden kann.

Laut Binance ist das ganze natürlich nur "temporär", aber mal schauen wie lange dieser Zustand wirklich anhält.

Die Alt Kauflust ist ja auch etwas mehr FOMO gesteuert als bei Bitcoin. Solange Bitcoin nichts macht kein FOMO, ohne FOMO kein neues Geld für Alts.



Ich glaub das in der jetzigen Marktsituation tatsächlich einfach nur Zeit ausreicht. Meiner Meinung nach haben die meisten die etwas preissensibler sind bereits verkauft während ganz viele ganz schlaue^(/s) Leute darauf warten das Bitcoin endlich auf 15k runterrasselt. Anders gesagt, ich denke die Situation ist genau umgekehrt -- es braucht etwas Besonderes um Bitcoin so richtig runter zu pressen und falls das nicht passiert wir der Druck über kurz oder lang eher nach oben gehen.
