That cuts out most of the waiting game back and forth and locks in your exchange rate to the moment you decide to order. Now to making the ordering page pretty and getting more stores up and running. Update: Finally got the current rate automated (based on current MT GOX last price). This is good new not just for me, who stayed awake at night checking and changing the price, but more importantly for you, as your price is now based on the last price, not the 24 hour average. If bitcoins keep going up like they have been, that could save you a few coins!
Feel free to go to spendbitcoins.com anytime just to check the current last price of bitcoins! Handy dandy little app, methinks.
Update: Last price has been too volatile an exchange rate, particularly because I do not have the ordering process automated yet and have to quote several orders when I wake up in the morning in Australia, not knowing what the last price was for each request. It should (fingers crossed) be automated within the next few days. Until then (and perhaps even after, I think it seems fairer to everyone), the exchange rate will be based on the Mt Gox 24 hour average at time of quote. Thanks for all your orders. How exactly are you doing the shipping? If you are using an Amazon Prime account to ship orders out to your customers, Amazon is going to shut you down as soon as they see you shipping to numerous addresses.
Amazon's terms of service basically prohibit you from using your own account to buy items for other people on a large scale.
From the Amazon Prime FAQ page:
"Prime is not available for customers who purchase products for the purpose of resale or use Prime to ship products to their customers or potential customers."
I don't know if this is what you're doing, but if it is I don't think it will last long because Amazon has definitely shut people down for similar things in the past.
No, it is an ordinary account, not a prime one. The reason for the above is that Amazon doesn't want one person signing up for Prime for free shipping and then having thousands of people use that account. With http://spendbitcoins.com customers pay regular shipping charges (usually free super-saver shipping) so this is not a problem. Thanks for your concern, though. |

You should get set up on the Web of Trust over at http://bitcoin-otc.com/That way you can receive ratings for Bitcoin transactions just like on eBay. (I'm not on the WOT myself, so I don't know exactly what's involved.) That's next on the agenda... Hopefully this weekend. |

Hi Alright, I went to use the site but there is a problem.
I dont have an amazon account. And to share your wish list you must have made a purchase first through amazon then wait 24 hours before sharing (so it tells me when I try to share).
But amazon does give you a permalink for your wishlist. So on your site perhaps you should have an optional form to fill out with Shipping info, and wishlist permalink. The site could then return a page that has the bitcoin amount,email and send address as well as a transaction number for referencing the transaction.
Also will you be providing tacking numbers?
I'd like to buy with your site asap.
