By cleaning the cookies and disconneting/reconnecting the modem, one can vote multiple times. I bet the old dev has voted two dozens of times already for silkcoin. Cheesy

Some thoughts: perhaps the right to vote should be earned by making a donation of N minimum SC.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find enough time to fully explore trello yet. Wouldn't it be possible to create a group of members with the 'right to vote' and let voting take place there?

Yes we are exploring the idea of having a diminishing paid to vote system - whereas 1 silk= 1 vote up to 20k and diminishes accordingly after that.  2fA and captcha to combat bots.  All funds for voting go to development of project.  Is in web development card presently at the bazaar.

Sorry arteleis, didn't notice it.

Lol its okay, I've posted quite a bit of stuff in the last few days. haha

Sent 10000 silk to fund.

We need to lift it asap.

The longer we wait, the more difficult it is going to be to get attention again. With the current price, The Silkcoin donations aren't worth that much.

Isn't there any place where we can do a request for hiring new devs??? This is the most important thing now.

People that want to invest, want to know what the future plans are of this coin.

I am not sure if this coin will survive with the same investors without new devs, because people who have SilkCoins at the moment, aren't going to invest in it again if there is no serious plan

Yes there are presently devs for hire, but are waiting for bholzer to finish as we want to give him the chance to complete his work.  There is a client upgrade presently in testing, and once confirmed will be released.

Have you got what it takes?

Current voting poll on rebranding.
http://www.easypolls.net/poll.html?p=53b09f5ce4b0d5f2a7af9a52
Silkcoin 56%
The Grand Bazaar - Ecosystem 7%
Silk 34%
SilkCrypto 1%
P2P Bazaar - Ecosystem 0%
Silk Exchange - Ecosytem 0%
Phenocoin 2%
FairSilk - Ecosystem 0%
Total votes: 89

Please post on forum if another vote will be needed as question was raised about silkcoin2, silkcoin2.0, silkcoin 1.1 etc.

I can make another poll if this is the case.

At the moment it seems overwhelmingly that the name Silkcoin is chosen to remain the same.

The name will need to be finalized before moving forward with web development/marketing/fundraising.
We currently have 3 web developers in trello (maybe more?  Smiley) and translators for 4 different languages.
Multiple marketing and social media campaign ideas ready to be chosen and implemented.

The Camel Marches On. Grin

I've added all trello members to a review card at the Grand Bazaar.  Please review and post comments.

Who released this version? Bholzer?

No we are still waiting for Bholzer to release. Have had a few senior BTT members willing to lend a hand for the interim as we need a stable wallet.  Once everyone on trello has confirmed it works, I will post it here.

Please hold posting version in forum until Bazaar members have tested.  Don't want to release an untested version in the forum quite yet.   Wink

I think you guys need to talk with the old main graphics developer and try and get him to sign on. He mentioned that we was going off on his own to start silky. Try and see if he can update graphics and help with a new website. The guy is quality and not easy to replace.

You must be kidding dude...  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

That guy (wulfensomething) has probably been identified as one of the two original dev-scammers. During the critical hours, instead of providing any explanation, he had been writing that it's game over for silkcoin and we'd better fork to silky and such BS. He tried to exploit dude and start a new coin. If you are not him posting under another account name, then you must be truly insane. My 2 cents.

Unfortunately this seems to have been proven correct. He did do good work, but does not seem to be a good man.  If there is evidence to support otherwise perhaps there should be a review.

Hey, You have just given me an idea!
We should just rebrand to SilkCoin 2!

I think you hit the nail on the head.

Silkcoin 2
Silkcoin Ecosystem 2

+1.  I would rather donate 1/2 my coins to hire devs to to assist in the project and make my last 1/2 worth more then to cash out now.  It's a bigger risk, but I believe it'll be a bigger reward at the end and a heck of a lot more satisfying!

I would rather find devs who want to help and get paid by investing into Silkcoin2 instead of Devs that just want to get paid. We can always subcontract work, but I would not call them trusted Devs. The original Dev team built this, and it is their baby, they would be best to keep it going, but they abandoned the baby so an opportunity has arisen for a new Dev/s to takeover and continue where the old devs left off or surpassing them.

Bholzer. Usually when a dev does not respond, for awhile, the project might have been more difficult than it seamed to be at first. I remember times when i would just cut off all interference until my project was completed because i didn't want distractions. I trust Bolzer and have no problem giving him the time he needs.

Yes I agree, we just need to give Bholzer more space and not pester him for it to be finished. im sure he's reading our posts and is probably looking at the trello page too.
He may surprise us all with what he has in store.

Silkcoin2 sounds much better then 2.0 lol.  And the silkcoin army pic? Thats outstanding.
893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SC] SilkCoin - Takeover and Rebuilding Discussion/Proposal on: July 02, 2014, 02:23:16 AM
Silkcoin2.0 on all pages BTT/Facebook/Twitter/+ done.

Your welcome. I was just being courteous, this wasn't a request! Do it!

Seriously though, its not a bad ideal, right?

Hey, You have just given me an idea!

 Cheesy Roll Eyes Tongue

Is good.. but 2.0 maybe a bit overdone? What about Silkcoin 1.1?
1 for crypto and 1 for community?
Everyone does 2.0.  Just a thought.

Just found the qt wallet v1.0.9 I had downloaded a while ago.

Code:
silkcoin-qt.exe 1.0.9
MD5: edd60792717d5fe602bbf1f2d36a0627
SHA-1: 6b9bbf1c15ae1e175cb607ba10476ce777fd3dda

It loaded fine. Now I'm waiting for it to complete syncing.

Update: Stuck in block 60000. Will wait for the new release of the wallet. Too skeptical to use 1.0.9.2.

I was running the 1.0.9 version and it was working until a few hours ago. I am running win8 . I am setting up a fresh mining machine tonight so I was going to try the wallet on a fresh install, see how that goes.

Make sure to delete old app data before to rollback and reinstall.  Think i had that issue.  DONT DELETE .DAT file though!

Do we have a stable mac version?

Stable Mac, Unix, and updated Win versions are in the works.

Unfortunately no stable mac presently but nearing completion.

What about instead of voting we have different escrow accounts for different projects? That way the amount of money people want to put towards certain projects is more democratic? Voting for the next phase and then raising funds seems more cumbersome. Thoughts?

Very Good Idea.  The Silk cannot be all in the same place in any large amount (that amount to be decided), as I'm sure everyone can agree that the funding and continuation of this project should be protected in every way possible so one person cannot end what is being built by the community.

I think escrows for each department of the Silk management is a fantastic idea.  Can use main donation escrow to transfer into relevant department escrows for payment to devs, techs, projects etc.

client 1.0.9 available for download at The Grand Bazaar on second list under specs.  Placed it at the top of the list.

Everything should remain the same. The name SC Silkcoin. The graphics. Why because it is the highest quality so far and hasn't been improved upon. Nobody gives a rats ass about rebranding just get  the old SC back with new Devs and work on whats important the Ecosystem.

Dont get me wrong im not an idiot and i understand the process of final revision. Its great that people are attempting to create something better its just hasnt been showen yet, so lets just keep the original works because they were abandoned. All we need is a new Dev team. I personally dont trust the community to make final decisions because most of them lack the skills needed yet they still want to make decisions(not everyone just majority.

I really like the way trello worked out. I may use that in the future, but open it up more.

Of course the problem is - Old Silk site can't be taken down, Old forum can't be taken down, old twitter and facebook sites are still up etc.. Is there anyway to get rid of these?..  Anyone know the old devs?

Seems by overwhelming support that silkcoin should remain the same.  I'll agree with that, but somehow have to figure out how to get rid of these old silk links/sites.

I view Community decisions are based on what is done with their donation and pledge money, paying devs, fundraising campaigns, management etc.  And would have the power to vote someone out if they weren't doing their job.

Yes we need a dev team, and buy the looks of the escrow.  SilkCoin is Hiring.
