881  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do ICO's need licenses? on: October 21, 2017, 10:27:53 PM
Lately there's been a lot of talk about regulation. What about ICO's?

What do you see with the ones complying with governments? It seems to be a big play longevity wise.

For ex. Unikrn got their Malta license, making esports fiat wagering legal in most of europe. Does this pave the way for future ico's? Should this be an indicator of a good, trustworthy ico?

More info: https://www.coindesk.com/regulated-cryptocurrency-betting-just-got-big-boost-europe/

I think that it is more or less, up to the governing bodies of each country,  state, or province to decide exactly what criteria, and area these offerings fit into. In the U.S, depending on how the token is issued, and what terms are given by the company offering the tokens, an ICO could end up being held as a security token, which would acquire you to be an accredited investor, in order to participate in the offering, but you see, each countries laws will vary.
I think that regulations should be passed in order to give more guidance on how to proceed legally through these workings.
882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Still believe in ICO ? on: October 21, 2017, 10:20:41 PM
As of right now, the crypto scene is being flooded with ICO's. Are some of these coin offerings scams? Sure, and because of those that are, a bad lighting is put on all ICO's as a whole. An ICO is nothing more but a decentralized IPO, who's foundation is formed on the basis of tokens.
Now there are some very legitimate coin offerings, but because of this market being hugely unregulated, the crypto scene has become like he gold rush of the U.S wild west. I think ICO's won't be going any where any time soon, at least not until more advice, and regulations are passed.
883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | PARAGON | Revolutionizing the Cannabis Industry | on: October 21, 2017, 10:07:59 PM
so from what I read here Netherlands,Uruguay and Portugal already legalize it,I hope that many other countries will follow their example...hopeing listing on some exchange will come soon...
If Paragon ends up exceeding their expectations in the United States, then surely they will be given the green light by parliament of other countries (hopefully), the ones who usually see what America's response is first, on a given situation. Then they may decide to adopt similar laws, regulations, and policies.
It will take a while for this company to setup shop in all of the 29 states it listed in the whitepaper, and each individual state has it's own form of governmental body,  but there's nothing more we can do as for now but speculate.
I personally would like to would like to see Paragon succeed,  and not just because I'm an avid Cannabis user, but because I see the Cannabis industry (if regulated correctly) being a game changer in several fields, and sectors, from medicinal purposes and for the jobs.
884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | PARAGON | Revolutionizing the Cannabis Industry | on: October 21, 2017, 06:57:33 PM
Paragon will be listed on coinmarketcap soon, just wait that paragon token be tradable on exchange. Paragon is a big project, don’t worries about listing it will come fast.

sorry if offtopic but it fits here: why is the price on coinmarketcap often so different to etherdelta

probably because the price fluctuates so much, but coinmarketcap doesn't refresh too often.

thats true, coinmarketcap does not refresh it quiet often like etherdelte does. and prg just got listed on eth and there are no real volume since the token is not distributed yet. those are just buy offers.
Coinmarketcap reflects market volume, and is only updated on a 24h marker. It's best to bookmark whatever coins you want to follow closely, and be sure to survey the exchanges where the coin is offered, because most exchanges reflect the market data updates every few seconds. Coinmarketcap is more of a cross reference referendum, giving you a veiw of the crypto market as a whole.

Will any video from paris bc conf. be available for non participants? greatly appreciated if shared.

Yes, we have made a video of the event that is still on Arnaud's phone. We will download it soon on our Youtube channel. We are also preparing a video on our beta version of our index publisher that should be ready in the next few days.

To check all our videos, go to youtube.napoleonx.ai.
Nice! It is always good to have videos, especially if they feature the startup company team, and supporters. It helps to create a transparency within a networks framework, as well as encourages investors to support a seemingly legitimate cause.
886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | PARAGON | Revolutionizing the Cannabis Industry | on: October 19, 2017, 04:12:38 PM
Yes i also think it’s better to wait the real listing of paragon token, the value will be better than the actual future in hitbtc. And with the sucess of the paragon ico, i have no worries for the value, great things incoming for paragon.
Yeah, decentralized exchanges like etherdelta are a double edged sword, as they allow instant trading,  but one of the downsides of this is that any ICO dependent startup companies, who transfer their tokens to investors instantly, face the issue of having a market cap created earlier than their projected date.
Now, why an investor would want to dump his tokens instantly, is either because one or two things. The investor feels the investment won't grow, so they cut their loses early,  or they are probably whales looking to control the market early, way before someone else gets a hold of it for the same reason.
Theirs allways a motive, or a science behind it.
887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | PARAGON | Revolutionizing the Cannabis Industry | on: October 17, 2017, 07:36:12 PM
i really hope that the paragon tokens will be worth like 1$ at least by the end of january. i calculated hard and bought a good amount Smiley now they have to moon later...

i think price more increased that u aspect, paragon project will be list as soon as possible with good exchanges. then you will see how price will increase up. what you think how much price can be increase?
26.5 million tokens went unsold, so does that mean that the $2.50 price per token, as stated on their official website prior to the last day of the ICO token sale, will be increased to a higher value, being that all the unsold tokens are to be burned off?
Will all the unsold tokens be burnt off, all at once, or gradually over time?
888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] [NaPoleonX] 1st 🌟French🌟 algorithmic crypto asset manager 🚀 on: October 17, 2017, 07:33:07 PM
What benefit I may get as an investor?

You get 85% of the performance fees of the DAFs, as long as you participated in the voting sessions for said DAFs, that is a way to avoid the token to being treated as a security token, and as you can see, 85% is a lot, considering there will be DAFs that will work in the classic asset market and in the crypto market, so with time, the profits will be a lot, and the more people use it, the more you get as a token holder, and again, as long as you participate in the voting sessions.
So if I were to participate in the bounty campaign,  like let's say for instance (hypothetically speaking), I were to sign up for the signature campaign, since I did not invest in the ICO, how would I be able to participate in the voting process that allocatez 85% of the transaction shares? Or do I have to be an accredited investor, depending upon where my initial countries jurisdiction lies?
889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | PARAGON | Revolutionizing the Cannabis Industry | on: October 17, 2017, 04:02:32 PM
Well, I like to come back and see that the enthusiam has not faded about the project.

Maybe I'll light a little one right now  Grin
and by that you mean a good legal cigarette because you're over the age limit, like a good citizen Smiley god I hope this project changes things.

That's exactly what I meant. What else could it be !  Shocked

What are you talking about? In so many countries, personal use of cannabis is legal, even in the US in many states.

Well, not so much countries. That's why Paragon is needed to promote the legalization of cannabis  Smiley
Yes, Paragon will have to start off within the limitations of each of the 29 U.S states it plans to setup shop in, and will have to be successful at that, before they can decide to make any moves to skip across the pond, into any international territory.
With todays many rights advocacy groups within the U.S rallying for Cannabis legalities, I'm sure that Paragon will have many supporters wherever it is they decide to move.

The airdrop is really a nice idea, your community is always glad to received a gift from the team they support. The airdrop is already closed, we are a lot that want to join it. But don’t worry, if you missed it you will be able to invest in the ico to have some token !
I agree, thanks to the airdrop about the project will learn more followers who will contribute to its development
I haven't checked this thread in a while,  I had no idea that there was an airdrop, regardless of how much was dropped, I'm still mad I missed it. Cheesy.

I was lucky enough but just because a friend told me to check the airdrop. I haven't believed him until I saw it myself lol

I also missed it Sad
Saw it when I was on the toilet, the link was still working. After 10 mins I got back and it was closed Sad

It not a huge amount the airdrop but still it would be nice to get some NPX for nothing Smiley
I'll just buy then
but when was this airdrop? every day I read this theme and also missed it .. anyway, I planned to invest in this project  - airdrop would be a good bonus
Maybe they will do one more airdrop this week. I think most of the people who read this thread daily missed it, me included.
Now that would be awesome, because I usually can't invest in any ICO's being my country has strict regulations regarding such matters.
I appreciate any little airdrop I can get from an honest, and accredited project. I'm tired of seeing two day old accounts post threads with copycat coins, promising to airdrop to the first 1000 signups for the giveaway. That's when the sock puppet accounts come out in droves.

892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] 🔵 UTRUST 🔵 The future of online payments is here. on: October 16, 2017, 01:44:24 PM
Ico is very soon, 2 November is a good date, after the Bitcoin fork the market will go better. I think the ico can raise a lot of money when I see how much people wait the start and the visibility of Utrust. Its even possible that they reach the hardcap i think.

After the forks a lot of money will come back to the altcoin market and with it UTrust has the best chances to raise a lot.
Any idea as to how long the forks are supposed to go on for? During a fork, the network becomes clogged,  and transactions get delayed, and the price volatility usually wavers.
893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | PARAGON | Revolutionizing the Cannabis Industry | on: October 16, 2017, 01:41:03 PM
i saw crowd funding closed. what is last amount raised?
Whatever the amount, The last time I checked their website, they were 27,000,000 tokens or so, shy of their goal. However, their website did state that, any unsold tokens remaining after the ICO had finished, would be burned!
894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ICO regulation good or bad? on: October 16, 2017, 01:34:31 PM
I think some regulations are necessary, because crypto currencies, as we know them today, are a new class of financial instrumentation.  What this means is, it's not the question of, will it be regulated, but actually,  when will it be regulated?
Crypto coins/tokens are a tough sea to navigate through when it comes to legal concerns, as one must tread/paddle carefully through these waters. There are a lot of gray areas within bitcoins legal sector, and I think, that regulations will help provide a detailed map, so one doesn't get lost at sea, or attacked by sharks, and whales (metaphorically speaking).   Wink
895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to write a great Whitepaper? on: October 16, 2017, 01:18:42 PM
On my personal opinion,  I think that a good white paper should be technical, but created in a way that simplifies the information, so that a regular joe can get a feel for, and be able to grasp the concept, and ideology of whatever it is, that is being presented.
A white paper should contain the essential details, portraying the dynamics of said projects ecosystem. If the white paper is for an ICO, the paper should portray a neat, and easily understable presentation, depending on what (whatever the concept), and who (audience/ demographic), it is your trying to pitch to.
You should always include a roadmap, outlining the predicted timing of your goals, any credentials that you or team posses, because this creates a sense of transparency (however minute). It should be clean and neat, and if your feeling creative,  add some pizzazz to the format, and layout of your presentation.
A white paper should be readily available, and open source option (give it away for free).
The paper doesn't always have to be inticing, but should contain a bit of allure, and should capture the reader's attention, as well as hold it.
Last but not least, try to describe your concept using visuals, like graphs, charts, etc. If you don't have any imagery,  then you create some, using unique word structures, allowing the imagination of the reader to perceive, and get a visual idea of what it is your describing, especially if you don't have a working model, or proof of concept to present.

Just my two cents!
896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] [NaPoleonX] 1st 🌟French🌟 algorithmic crypto asset manager 🚀 on: October 13, 2017, 03:41:52 PM
Reading back the last pages I think NaPoleonX should really make a super simple brochure that explains the idea without the technobabble. Maybe risking it loses some of its mystery, but now a lot of people have barely an idea what they are investing in.

I agree, since everybody is asking about it, i read several articles, but cant find any information about how the bot works. So far I read this ''NaPoleonX will benefit from a large range of existing trading systems developed by an experienced team in financial markets''

We have written a Blackpaper in which we are exposing the top 10 strategies among a much wider range of strategies that we would propose to launch the first 10 DAFs. In this paper, we explain in depth how we will structure these products and give some detailed elements on the strategies behind, with a one pager per strategy. You can find our paper there blackpaper.napoleonx.ai

Unfortunately, if you want the underlying code, we won't provide it as we don't want every one to use our bots for free. However to give investors some comfort we have developed a beta version of our index publisher that will host our strategies, everything being certified by the use of Blockchain in the very near future. the address is beta.napoleonindex.com username = "napoleonx", password = "demo"

Feedback appreciated
Thank you for posting the black paper, as I've been meaning to give it another read, as well as the whitepaper. I've spent some time trying to get a better grasp of all the published papers. Never before, have I seen a startup like this one, who provides so much detail as to how every aspect of their operation functions!
I'm convinced this project is going to be big in the future, and many copy cats will appear soon.
897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeepOnion, you STINK!!! Dictatorship Spreading Propaganda, NOT Decentralization! on: October 13, 2017, 03:31:22 PM
They constantly change the rules for the campaign. I'm starting to think that this is most likely a longterm, ingeniously implemented pump and dump scheme. I was apart of the airdrop, I was there since day one, and I did exactly everything I was asked, as far as the ever changing requirements,  and hoops you have to jump through to stay active. One day I was blacklisted without cause. I seeked advice as to why, but I never recieved a response, ever.
Am I mad about it? Not at all, being that this is my first ever airdrop, this is a lesson learned! I still have my original stake from the few drops they made, and never touched it. The way I figure it, in the end, the onion shills who tear down anyone who dare speaks indifferently about the campaign, will be the ones ending up holding the bag, all awhile, the devs will have cashed out, slowly over time.
Now, I'm not saying that onion coin is a scam, but there are some really shady business praftices going on, for this to be a free airdrop! What it really is, is a signature campaign, cleverly disguised as an airdrop. I wasn't in it to get rich, but because I genuinely believed in the community, and because they seemed to stand for a good, and honest cause.
I'm not here to spread panic, or to spread derogatory gossip, but this has just been my own personal experince with deep onion. Good luck to all who participate,  and I hope I'm wrong regarding this coin. Good day to you all!

Are the payouts for the token holders on a weekly, or monthly basis? Or is it quarterly? Also, will token holders recive payouts of Ethereum, or NapoleonX tokens, from the percentage of gas transactions?

I'm having trouble understanding the point of this startup? How does datum supposed to put the data back into my hands?  Huh Is there some sort of cookie that follows me while on Facebook, or something? Can someone with a better grasp, give me a quick debriefing on what's going on here?
