901  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why do people still buy GHs at CEX? on: December 04, 2014, 11:24:50 PM
i know i personally have bought 100gh/s on cex.io 2 different times and i have lost money both times. op is correct its a losing venture to just purchase gh/s n mine

The only time mining was profitable was way back when it first started since there was a risk whether they were a scam. They were the first to venture into cloud mining at that level and of course anything that is new to bitcoin has risk but also great rewards. I remember in 2 weeks I triple my initial investment of 0.5 btc to test the waters. All I did was buy low mine for a few days then resell. Rinse and repeat with no trade fees or maintenance fees it was very nice.
902  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: December 04, 2014, 08:25:32 PM
Love the no trading fee...

Love the lower maint fee...

HOWEVER - There are some problems that are not getting answered.

No payments on 11/29  and no answer on it.

Also some are reporting maintenance fee of 61% rather then the quoted 49% on the website.

Come on bitmain, you can take market share from your competitors right now if you start acting more professional.

Answer your forum questions on no payments and higher maint fee if you want us to stay.

Thanks.

I agree with all these points in addition I would also like to say the whole share not equal to a gh is annoying. In most sites when you buy a gh its a gh here its always less but how much less depends on which miner you buy. That is extremely misleading since I had 1500gh of S2s (not the subscription one) and it at best mined 1350gh
903  Economy / Services / Re: PB Mining -- 5 year mining contracts! on: December 04, 2014, 07:18:01 PM
I hope we get some clarification to why the payouts are being skimmed. I am too lazy to do the calculations since I ROIed a bit ago so I will believe the crowd. If it was a scam the payouts would stop and not be skimmed. Not sure if they aren't making enough profit so they decided to skim or its a bug/glitch only time will tell.
904  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why do people still buy GHs at CEX? on: December 04, 2014, 03:14:22 PM
If you play cex as an exchange theres money to be made and only if you consider the gh as interest. looking at it from a mining perspective esp long time will always resuly in a loss
905  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Hashie.co - Cloud Mining from 0.0012 BTC / GH | NEW: AMHash | FREE 10 GH on: December 04, 2014, 12:55:32 PM
ETA on the announcement?

AM just announced another round of IPO on Havelock, but that's probably not it.

Yeah hashie said that we will love the announcement if we already own some amhash...so I'm still waiting to hear why.  Tongue

Im also waiting Smiley Hope it would be great

I also hope its for people on havelock as well and its an AMHASH promotion not a hashie promotion since I dont have any hashie shares just a fair amount on havelock
906  Economy / Securities / Re: AMHash1: Cost-Effective Mining Contract on: December 04, 2014, 01:25:16 AM
I am pretty sure they have something for people who hold shares whether it is a payout bonus or a share addition since the price of AMHASH3 is the same as AMHASH2 (which is not necessarily a bad thing especially since difficulty has more or less plateau)
907  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's happening! --- 3̶6̶0̶$̶ 454$ on: December 03, 2014, 11:52:26 PM
I always tend to get the impression that people promoting new coins are rushing to this thread and desperately try and promote their latest investment gamble they just put money in. I don't quite see how this is anything vastly different from existing cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin still has the biggest traction, acceptance, and best known name out there. That is what actually counts. (Whether this is good or bad isn't mine to decide, though)

Same here - that being said I do trust what Hyena's saying and according to the stats NuShares apparently is doing well over past 2 weeks. I do not invest in Alts other than BTC simply because my margins are way more profitable/consistent/liquid.

I overestimated the NuShares rally. It's not that great if you actually look the order books, they are so thin a mendicant could manipulate the price there. However, the great thing about NuBits is that you can get out of any volatile cryptocurrency whenever you want and not hold dollars in your exchange account or bank account.

I wish Bitcoin was initially developed like that (proof of stake mining and no volatility). Then there would be no stupid ASIC arms race, energy consumption and those news reporters couldn't blame bitcoin for being volatile. Bitcoin is good as a store of value but for everyday purchases it sucks. I predict that in the long term Bitcoin will not be the most successful cryptocurrency. However, in the mid term Bitcoin will conquer new all time highs until its technical limitations start to obstruct it from further success. I'm already hating the Bitcoin-core because it makes my PC so slow, it constantly grinds the HDD, the block chain is currently 31 gigabytes and the wallet software sometimes consumes up to a gigabyte of RAM. In the mean time, Peercoin's block chain is just 420 megabytes. For 3 years I was 10% in prominent altcoins and 90% in bitcoin but now I'm 30% in altcoins and 70% in bitcoin.

I burned out my laptop hdd downloading the blockchain
But I got a new one for free
Fuck that, now I use multibit, it sync in a few seconds and so simple a child could use it....

I never used any other offline wallet except multibit. THe blockchain is simply way too big and takes up a lot of space if you have a SSD thats not huge. I have been using multibit since day 1 and probably will never change. I do not see any other offline wallet that offers any significant improvements

911  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Well, it happened! (Negative Difficulty) on: December 03, 2014, 03:02:19 AM
Lol lets hope there isnt a huge rebound and it jumps up to 10%+ Its been a while since a negative difficulty even though its pretty small
912  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase announces "USD wallet" on: December 03, 2014, 01:41:49 AM
Great news however does not effect me for 2 reasons. First I am not in one of those states unfortunately and second my instant buy is 1000 a week which is more than enough for me. Being able to hold fiat in there tempts me somewhat though
913  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: next difficulty on: December 02, 2014, 09:13:02 PM
Here you can find "next difficulty" estimation: https://mining-profit.com/bitcoin-difficulty-history

"Estimated Difficulty After Update - 40703030630"

It's based on statistical dada for last 6 month.

i hope no one making another giant mining farm, this difficulty and price is just fair atm... cant get any profit otherwise

It looks like the new bottom for bitcoin price is changing though. It used to be around 330-350 now looks more like 350-380 with peaks at 400. This may cause the difficulty to start creeping up again soon

915  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Microsoft MSDN keys $4 each on: December 02, 2014, 06:10:06 PM
I'll use the key tomorrow and tell you.
Also I need an Admin invite for MSDN. Could you provide that too?
Give me your skype

Sorry No admin accounts. I bought some regular accounts and use it mainly for the azure subscription. So all I am doing is selling off the keys since I do not need them.

The event will end, Monday,  around 00:00 UTC.

Ok, thanks! So 10 more minutes. So we might expect one last coupon code, hopefully a huge one...

45% off dual mod I would call it a dud considering they were that cheap before blackfriday
