I agree that BTC has vast network effects and significant extendability to cover many more use cases but the fact is that there will be a thriving ecosystem of non-BTC cryptos providing specialised utility such as ethereum, lisk and arguably z-cash down the road

Is it launched as an ICO ?
Does it's "token" end up being traded in exchange for Bitcoin on centralized exchanges

2014 - The Ethereum ICO was launched..
ICO coins were put out and they were bought up by a secret rich group.
Why ?
It served what need now ? (why would millions be spent on vaporware code in secret)
..we know WHY in 2016 NOW.

And unless there is substantial real world (non crypto nerd) ADOPTION.
