922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can I ask for refund if casino game has bugs? on: December 16, 2023, 05:37:57 PM
Hello guys, I have heard many stories when person was playing casino games, for example person was playing slots and managed to win a huge jackpot, 100 thousand or up to a million but casino didn't give him his winning because they said slot had bugs and they can't give away money because person won through a buggy slots.
I have never seen a case when casino called player for a refund because slot had bugs. What happens if you think that slot has bugs and that's why you lose? If we follow logic, since casino can deny your winning because they think that game has bugs, you should have right to ask for slots inspect if you lose a lot. Doesn't this make sense? I think it makes but I want to know if you had similar experience or if something similar has happened in history ever.

Yes, you can always ask for your money back, but understand that there is still a very poorly explained understanding between what is right and what actually happens.

Unless the casino has a very good reputation and the bug found is actually evident to the public, it will be difficult for the injured player to get their money/chips back.
In most cases that I've heard of, the casino at most grants the player some bonus as a "favor" so that he can be comforted and not try to move forward with a lawsuit.

In any case, these problems only occur in smaller casinos, which have "cheaper" games or when the casino deliberately intends to steal from the player.
In larger and respected casinos it is very difficult to see this occur.
923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers should not believe in first game win trap on: December 16, 2023, 05:32:33 PM
I noticed there has been some topics about how first time winning is dangerous. What I am saying is someone that has not gamble before, to gamble and win. That it is dangerous. Yes it may be dangerous because the person may have the exciting mind to gamble more  and lose. But that is not the whole true story.

If not talking about the first time loss gamblers that later become addicted, what you are saying is not completely true. If we can do a survey of gamblers that won or lost in their first game, the people that will chose won can not be 100%. They might not be 70%. It may be 50%. Some people will gamble for the first time and lose and continue to gamble. The main reason is because they think gambling is a way money can be made. Unless they change their the way they think about gambling, that gambling is is not a money making means, first time win or loss is not necessarily the cause of their addiction.

Gamble with the money you can lose.

Yes, the easiest way to convince and addict a player is to show him the "path to happiness", making him believe that it is possible to win a lot of money.
Certainly many players who are unable to win in the first few games end up losing their enthusiasm and desire to continue betting, which is why it is "important" that casinos provide players with a way to win some money right from the start..... this is generally provided. with "welcome bonuses" that considerably increase the user's chances of winning something.

Likewise, it is necessary to keep players motivated, enabling them to eventually win something "considerable", which is why houses always work with just over 50% instead of 80%, for example.... to make a profit but still provide "good chances" of victory for players eventually.
924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take time to read the terms and conditions of casinos before registering? on: December 16, 2023, 05:27:51 PM
The terms and conditions of casinos and other companies is usually very lengthy and somehow boring for some people. Hence , many people rarely find time to read them. They may actually contain some of the complaints that people raise about some casinos such requiring KYC if there is need or suspicion of money laundering activities.

What is your take on this?

Eventually, and even then I never read it in its entirety.
Generally, when I read, I go straight to the parts where they talk about deposit/withdrawal limits, especially when it involves a bonus and also the KYC part to find out how "aggressive" this procedure is on the site I'm on. registering me.

In other services (nothing to do with online casinos) I have seen a summarized terms of use.... in fact it has no legal value whatsoever, but it is a text that "explains" the terms of use in a more summarized and with more simplified words.
This helps users a lot and I believe it could even become mandatory for every online service.
925  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Falha de segurança atinge a Ledger on: December 15, 2023, 02:16:38 AM

928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Heritage is Some How Spiritual on: December 15, 2023, 01:49:51 AM
Football indeed is a gme of passion. A passion that drives you to win at all cost and not loss. I come to understand that when it comes to football the roots and foundation of a football team matters. A team that is not built with a strong foundation. In terms of reputation, pattern, performance and strategy may affect the players that will be playing in that team years to come. What am saying in essence is that football may be hereditary. I believe you may or may not gree to the fact that some football clubs have passed down the spirit of not able to win league titles in as much as the current players of that team tries. They always end up bottling the league at the end.

I once believed that, because at least in my country (Brazil) there was a time when football players loved their favorite team... they graduated from youth teams, became professionals and won titles for that team until the moment when they retired.

However, currently this no longer exists... players change teams and countries simply for money or better future conditions, they are no longer worried about which team they are playing for.
We can say the same thing about club directors, once this was passed down for generations between the same family or close community, but nowadays it is normal to see teams being sold to anyone willing to pay a lot of money.
929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Type of gambling and Intelligence on: December 15, 2023, 01:43:59 AM
Does the type of game you play at a casino or sports you bet on show an individual's level of intelligence or how smart a person is?
Blackjack, Poker, slots, roulette, baccarat, sports betting, horse racing, betting on sociopolitical events, keno, etc.

It depends!

If the person playing the game wants to win money, then he will probably choose a game in which he has more skill, in which case he can be said to be smarter with numbers, mathematics and probabilities if he chooses a betting or dice game in which it is possible to predict some results.

However, if the person is just playing for fun, they may choose a slots game as they are more "interesting", but this does not necessarily mean that the person is less intelligent.

Choosing a game is more related to personal taste than intelligence.

931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Logic of some gamblers against math on: December 13, 2023, 01:54:07 AM
Hi guys. Someone will explain to me why gamblers have such a strange logic: if a gambler has received a huge multiplier, then he will not withdraw this money. And he will continue to play, saying, "if I'm so lucky, I'll be lucky again now."
But according to the laws of mathematics, the chance of such luck becomes much less, doesn't it?

Exactly!
The correct thing is for every player to define and follow limits.
And these limits should not only be on how much money the player is willing to lose, but also on how much money he is willing to win.
If someone is entering the game with $100, they should withdraw at least half of that amount when they reach $1000 and not try to multiply it again to reach $1000000.
It is much more prudent to withdraw $500 by $500 than to lose all your winnings.
Anyway.... strategic planning is fundamental, because if someone doesn't have this well defined and the discipline to follow it, unfortunately they end up being "carried away" by emotions at the moment a big loss or gain occurs.
932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 13, 2023, 01:49:19 AM
Yes, dear mate, your point is absolutely correct that Xavi knows which player is required, which means which player fits the tactics of the team and which one lacks. He is also familiar with Barcelona's financial critics, so he will never make any decision that will harm the club. But anyway, Xavi has praised Joa Filix a lot and claimed that he plays very well, has made it very easy for Barcelona to create chances, and even has the skills to win big matches, meaning like Atlatico Madrid. What was the winning goal against Barcelona? The team has gotten a big boost from the perspective of attack due to Joa Felix. Jao Filix is a talented player; he can achieve a lot in Barcelona. Now that he has spent one season, when he will play next season, I hope he can deliver more than this performance.

In my opinion, Barcelona is making a big mistake in signing the Portuguese duo.
Atlético de Madrid asked for 80 million euros for João Félix, an absurd amount, even though I consider that Feliz is a player worth every penny.... however the value is still very high for Barcelona, which does not go through a good financial moment and could offer a maximum of around 20 million euros for the striker.
On the other hand, Manchester City does not intend to keep Cancelo, he was previously on loan to Bayern Munich and is now asking for around 20 million euros, a much more affordable amount for the Spanish, so I believe he is "Ok" for their needs and conditions at Barcelona.

We must remember, however, that Barcelona has been in a much worse financial situation in the past and only managed to get back on its feet with the arrival of Xavi and his desires to hire him, so I believe that the coach deserves a little more credibility. But you can't go wrong with these hires.
933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A hero or a fool? on: December 13, 2023, 01:38:30 AM
I was reading some comments on line today and a story caught my attention, and I want to know how possible this is.

A guy claimed he won $5000 on a poker machine and that's where his addiction began, and when it get to the point that he lost his rent money to gambling he decide to take matters in his one way.

He proceeded by going to gaming commission and had his name banned by himself, ( Someone please tell me how this is possible?) never seen such in my country before. he claimed he still go back to casinos at times and he knew he can't ever win big again, because his name was flagged in the system, and if he win big they won't pay him.

Yes, I've heard about that.
The most common thing is for a family member to do this, it could be a parent or even a wife... they claim that the person is addicted to gambling and that this is compromising their mental and financial health and also the stability of the family.
These rules differ from one country to another, so I don't know how bureaucratic it must be in each country. However, I believe that the process for requesting self-exclusion is much simpler, but I also don't know if it is possible for the person themselves to be able to remove this self-exclusion as easily as they had to add their name to the blacklist.

Anyway, wouldn't it be interesting if online casinos also had something similar to a common list of excluded players?
934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler takes his own life after a loss. on: December 13, 2023, 01:33:05 AM
Apparently this is a true live event happened in my State this week and almost everyone is talking about it. About a young man that killed himself after a gamble loss, he even left a message for his family and friends before taking his life.  But I wonder why should someone take his own life  just because he lost  #2.5 million to gambling an amount  equivalent to just about $3k. I can relate to his loss but taking your life is something unimaginable and unjustifiable to do. No matter the regrets suicide isn't an option to be taking as a solution , you are only leaving bigger pains  behind for your loved ones.

In fact, nothing justifies a person taking this attitude, but what we need to think about are not the reasons that led them to commit suicide, but rather the mental state in which that person was.

Losing a lot of money often means that the person has ruined their life and that of their family forever, either because they created a debt that they will never be able to pay again or because they gave a valuable and indispensable asset as "guarantee". Unfortunately, some people cannot deal with the consequences they have caused and for them the easiest thing is to "cease to exist".
Some cannot find the courage to take their own lives, and so they choose the world of abandonment, begging, and running away from their family.

In any case, we can't judge people like this, the most we can do is sympathize with them and whenever we notice something similar in a relative or friend, offer help.
935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: December 10, 2023, 02:26:12 PM
Not only Honda but also Yamaha completely overslept the development in the area of aerodynamics, all European manufacturers were simply better. In addition, Yamaha also has a weak engine that they never got any further in terms of performance.

Although director Massimo Meregalli states that the performance of the Yamaha engine has met expectations, Quartararo has already admitted that he was not at all impressed and that he expected more from a power unit produced with the help of Luca Marmorini, a famous engineer with experience in Formula 1.

But, who knows, this could change next year, because after hearing these harsh words from Fabio Quartararo about the new engine tested in Misano, Yamaha promises news for the coming weeks with a view to the 2024 season, they say they are preparing two new engine versions for 2024.

Will Yamaha be able to impress this time? I still have my doubts.
936  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: CAMPANHAS DE ASSINATURAS ATUALIZADAS on: December 10, 2023, 02:20:03 PM

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1393430.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5323706.0

937  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: $100k ANTES do Halving? on: December 10, 2023, 02:14:29 PM

938  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: December 10, 2023, 02:06:15 PM
Yeah you read the question correctly.

I got this taught while involved in discussion with some of my friend today, it was round of friends and we were practically catching up after some old memories in high school so discussion led to discussion and the issue of regretting to ever knowing how to gamble came up and believe me it was a very serious issue as one of my friend was practically blaming the other for the whole problem is currently going through right now as he constantly gambles his money away and at what avail? was the question being asked to the friend who actually inviting him to a gambling house during highschool. The matter looks childish  at first because the whole table of friends there were all gamblers including myself but we all never reached the height of complaining or blaming someone for our gambling ethics.

So I was wondering if some folks here too feel the same way or it was just a matter of grudge and hatred for the particular fellow to stir up such arguement.

No!
Because I discovered gambling with freebitco.in and I confess that it was a very good time when I won a lot of money, it was my gateway to the crypto world.
I know, we can't consider that site exactly as a game of chance (mainly because at the time it was just a faucet), but I complement my answer by saying that I've never been a game addict who lost a lot of money or time on it.
So, gambling is a moment of leisure for me and I would certainly be spending that money and time on other equally "futile" things if I hadn't discovered gambling.

Gambling hasn't brought anything bad into my life or routine, I don't regret having known about it.
939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who should quit, and why? on: December 10, 2023, 02:02:12 PM
Hey house someone need a few clips here, don't know if a post of this exact nature has been discussed though.

In a situation where the both spouse are gamblers. Husband gambles, wife gambles, how can both of them manage the situation in terms of finance and the family affairs especially when children are now involve so that the time both spends on gambling doesn't affect family moments and affairs in general.

Would it help if  one of the couple quit for the other and if that's the case who should quit for who.

I see two problems here in this situation that you addressed:

Financial: If each of the spouses has their own income, then each one should decide what is the minimum they will contribute to support the house and family and the rest of the amount they can use however they want. But if only one of them has an income, then they should discuss together how much money they are willing to bet on the games without compromising the family's income.

Time: Addiction is the main villain of those who bet on gambling and if both are addicted, the chances of their children having a terrible education are very high. Parents should decide together how much and for how long they will play, preferably at times when their children are not physically around so that their habits do not influence them at an unnecessarily young age.
