921  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If you would invest $100 in 2011 you would have 930k on: August 05, 2017, 05:33:28 AM
933,233% rate of interest seems like an insanely high one considering the time value of money. Nobody would've ever saw this coming not even Satoshi himself. One can only visit the site and sadden himself as to how he didn't invest in Bitcoin back then.

To OP, nice little site you've created which can make people laugh and cry (mostly the latter)
922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do I make sure to not lose $ value in BTC? on: August 05, 2017, 05:07:59 AM
From time to time, I get paid in BTC for my freelancing services. Sometimes, I don't exchange it to real cash and let BTC sit in the wallet. But lately there has been A LOT of fluctuation in BTC price so if I have, let's say, $2000 today, tomorrow I might have half of it. I don't like that kind of a situation. So is there any way to make sure that your BTC gets fixed? Like, somehow fix the BTC price in your wallet. So no matter if actual BTC price rises or falls, you still have the same value that you have today. I think I might be interested in keeping some of my savings in BTC (away from banks) if I can somehow find a way to fix the value that I have today.

Is there a way? Any suggestions?

It's really a hard call whenever you decide to buy anything with BTC. You would've bought your Bitcoins when it was at a particular price and by then, it would have varied positively or negatively in price (positive most of them times for longer terms) and this will have you confused if spending BTC to buy those things would be worth it or not. Ultimately, it would be your call and with the ever rising price of BTC, you're sure to never lose value on the longer runs.
923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens after 21 Million mined BTC? on: August 04, 2017, 06:49:18 PM
It would be very long for that much BTC to be mined by the miners and by very long I mean at least a couple of centuries. At that point, the only thing fueling any sort of mining would be transaction fee which wouldn't suffice the miners who invest a lot into their rigs. About prices, Bitcoin would be multiplying in folds and would keep reaching all time heighs, given that it survives through for so long.
924  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeepOnion Strange Transactions! on: August 04, 2017, 10:09:29 AM
Another alt being dumped as soon as it hits an exchange nothing new here. But honestly I thought this was a legit project with great potential and now the devs just showed that all they wanted was to fill their pockets. A new coin without an ICO? Let's be fast about it and dump it when it has some value and even before it reaches everyone - dev logic.
925  Economy / Exchanges / Re: poloniex alert on: August 04, 2017, 09:55:22 AM
Been preaching this from the beginning of time that Polo is real bad and now they're trying to pull a quick one on its large user base. As much as I used to hate Polo for its shitty support system, the quality of the site kept degrading with time and they didn't even bother to keep their support team updated. If you're still using this exchange, better withdraw all your coins and move to Bittrex or Kraken.
926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you set up limits for yourself? on: August 04, 2017, 09:49:35 AM
I allocate a certain amount of money that I can afford to lose in case of an unsuccessful game. It helps a lot to avoid unnecessary waste and enjoy gambling.

Most of the times after losing the part that 'you could afford to lose', you try to win it back and go in again. At least for me, this was a problem in the beginning that I would dive in to recover that part of my money which I could afford to lose and eventually lose out on everything. I've restrained myself and now do much better at letting it go.
927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple back on 3rd place! Bitcoin Cash fell of the cliff! on: August 04, 2017, 09:43:56 AM

It is still very early days for Bitcoin Cash and there is a lot of time for a proper lift off. Ripple on the other hand is really a becoming a strong contender for a top spot in the market and will definitely have an edge of being there for some time.

929  Local / India / Re: Bitcoin cash on: August 01, 2017, 05:30:57 AM
actually, any indians holding BTC on the 3 major exchanges are shafted:

It was clearly mentioned weeks ago not to store BTC in exchanges that you don't have access of private keys to, these exchanges take us for fools and are deriving the most out of this situation when they will use the stored BTC to access all the BCH through their own private keys. As usual, I hate these so called exchanges and will always spread the word about the nuisance they are causing here.
930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not supported in some countries? on: July 31, 2017, 05:40:45 AM
In my country (India), initially BTC users would be jailed and eventually released. Currently, India has no stance on Bitcoin i.e it is deemed neither legal nor illegal. With all the corruption and black money laundering being exposed in the recent years, I don't think Bitcoin will be fully welcomed in my country because there is still that doubt it could be a big contributing factor to allow stashing black money again without being traced.
931  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Fear Of August 1st on: July 31, 2017, 05:25:12 AM
Many people are panicking about what could possibly happen on August 1. People who have savings in their wallet are afraid and that is the reason why they are getting all of their bitcoin on their wallet. I cannot believe that bitcoin will be splitting on this coming August 1. I really love bitcoin and I would continue supporting it.
It's normally if they panic, we do not know what will happen later. People who hold their bitcoins may be worried if a bitcoin split occurs. Some of them may have sold their bitcoins before splitting.
Some already sold it that cause a big dump last few weeks ago, it's normal to get panicked especially we have saved that btc of ours diligently and we wanted it to help us. It's taking a risk , tomorrow we can know what is going to happen finally.

Those who panic sell during a dump are the biggest losers and experienced traders would never do this. The view is to hold for a time that assures profit and not to panic sell during a dump and trading experience is what it comes down to.
932  Economy / Services / Re: [ICO] Enigma Catalyst - Build Your Crypto Hedge Fund | Signature campaign [OPEN] on: July 31, 2017, 04:24:37 AM
Spreadsheet is now updated with new participants, campaign is now full, there is no remaining slots, sorry for all people that applied, I will consider your applications when more slots will be available.
First week of the campaign will end on 31 July 23:59 UTC (Forum time zone), expect payments to be a little bit delayed due to BIP91.

Thanks for the heads up about the campaign weekly cut off time.

I hope payments will be sent after everything settles and since the campaign funds aren't under your control, you should tell the owner to delay the payments as required.

Also, thanks for updating the spreadsheet with my new address, you're the boss!
933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Game of Thrones - Who will rule? Odds and betting discussion on: July 30, 2017, 02:28:09 PM
Right, I regret even opening this thread because spoilers always pull my eye and want me to read them even when they might not be true.

I still agree that Lord Varys will rule by proxy no matter who sits on the iron throne eventually, always admired his deception in the whole series.
934  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazing Support for Bitcoin Cash! on: July 30, 2017, 11:33:54 AM
Even after having so many exchanges and wallets supporting BCC, it will definitely struggle to make a stand against BTC because as mentioned above by Lutpin, most of the exchanges look familiar places to dump the new coin without speculations that it isn't going to last long enough to compete against BTC.

As usual, don't trust any online wallet services as they can 'fake' hacks and run away with all the BCC so I would recommend offline and paper wallets.
935  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Ethereum ?, on: July 30, 2017, 11:29:22 AM
I've always stuck to Bitcoin believing in the prophecy that the first and foremost, everlasts. Although, coins like ETH have made greater breakthroughs than BTC, I still prefer holding my cash in BTC over any other altcoins because price stability matters the most to me.
936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best crypto currency at this time? on: July 30, 2017, 07:26:24 AM

hi, everybody

What is the best crypto currency at this time?

Since you're asking for the 'best' crypto currency at this time, just half a day before the Bitcoin hard fork, I would say Ethereum is your best bet. Since the announcement of the hard fork, Ethereum has been dropping along with many other altcoins and ETH will definitely have a price surge after the dust settles.
937  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think billionaires invest in BTC? on: July 30, 2017, 07:19:39 AM
I just always wonder if those billionaires still invest in btc. Do they even know btc exist?

Considering the fact that BTC rose from scratch to $3k in 8 ½ years and with the massive price in recent times, wouldn't be surprised if billionaires would have been keeping an eye and also have big investments in BTC.
938  Local / India / Re: Karnataka minister will host a seminar to understand bitcoins on: July 30, 2017, 03:54:54 AM
This is really great news that the state government is stepping up to provide a platform for everyone to understand how Bitcoin works. Living in Bangalore, I will definitely be a part of this program and try to make the most out of this. Thank you for bringing this to light OP!
939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it possible to have fulltime income with altcoins trading ?? on: July 30, 2017, 03:19:45 AM
Of course altcoin trading can net you a full time income given that one is committed to offer time and patience towards the same. Learning market dynamics and trends of many altcoins, knowledge of when to buy and sell are some contributing factors towards establishing yourself a nice income from altcoin trading.
940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin may not be number one for long on: July 29, 2017, 06:36:10 PM
Don't agree with you on this OP, Bitcoin effortlessly will always remain on top of the chain no matter how many Ethereums come and go. It's pretty simple, nothing can come close to the ever rising BTC which will continue being unstoppable in its path. Considering the hard fork actually happens, BTC will uphold its true value in the coming weeks and the surge will begin all over again.
