99% of people know that he isn't satoshi and that he's a fraudster but I don't like the idea of silencing BSV because of him. People should either just ignore him and BSV or keep calling him out on his obvious bullshit.

927  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: BitcoinTalk's 2020 Champions League Pool Sign Up Thread £25 in bitcoin to join on: January 11, 2021, 05:48:20 PM
I'm not bringing up the subject again because I'm currently in first... second... third position (you see ? I hate when i am right Smiley), but when are we going to pay ?

I'll collect it in before the start of the next round. Hopefully the price will steady or at least stop falling soon.
928  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ | Up to 0.0375 BTC/w on: January 11, 2021, 03:22:13 PM
I tend to agree with 1 BTC = 1 BTC.

True, but that doesn't mean the payments have to be fixed in bitcoin. There's absolutely nothing wrong in saying it's $1/3/5/10/30 per post in bitcoin, the payment is still in bitcoin after all. I think we can all agree that the current payment is quite ludicrous and can easily be avoided in future. If they still wanted to pay in a fixed bitcoin price they could still cap the total weekly amount you can get but paying in a fixed fiat amount would make more sense to me.
929  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ | Up to 0.0375 BTC/w on: January 11, 2021, 07:46:59 AM
Pegging to fiat isn't a bad thing in times like these.
When the business is getting paid in bitcoin, pays in bitcoin, and works only with bitcoin and its revenue is not dependent on bitcoin price rise/fall, it makes no sense to measure things in fiat terms.

I've made this argument elsewhere about gambling sites but it also works with mixers and any other business that is always working purely with bitcoin, maybe more so for mixers since their customer count increases unlike gambling sites. Kinda like this forum's donator status still costing 10BTC.

With that said, I wouldn't be surprised if the rates were lowered at some point since we are still living in a fiat world where 1BTC is not 1BTC but is X$.

Of course it makes sense. It makes perfect sense so people don't end up getting paid something silly like 30± dollars per post nor do they get shortchanged if it falls. Just because a company gets paid in bitcoin, pays in bitcoin, and works only with bitcoin and its revenue is not dependent on bitcoin price rise/fall doesn't mean the value should stick to a fixed bitcoin price. There's absolutely nothing wrong with saying something like you get 5 dollars in bitcoin per post or whatever. The forum also deals only deals and pays in bitcoin but staff payments are capped in fiat amounts but are always paid in bitcoin. Its much safer and logical that way.
930  Other / Meta / Re: How many times can I change my account password? on: January 10, 2021, 07:51:10 PM
Is there a limit on the number of password change attempts? For example, if a person changes their password every other day, would this be considered a suspicious activity?

You can find it suspicious and it is odd but there's no rule about it. Many people change their passwords often but doing it daily is overkill unless he has some good reason for it.

I am not sure if this mention will be relevant but Yatsan being from the Philippines. it is possible that he is using a computer from an internet cafe at the time. there have been cases that I know of where other people download an app or a malware that record everything that is typed on a computer on an internet cafe. him changing the password may be a security measure to at least prevent any hacker to compromise his account.

Well changing it daily would do little as if the connection is compromised then a hacker would likely have it straight away. There's better ways to protect yourself if using a public connection is something you're worried about.

It's been few days, I was not online. Surprisingly I am the round winner for the last round. Has bid_daddy updated his list?
Who do I contact for the round winner prize.

Steve on superbru. He usually PMs the people but might have been busy over the holidays as I haven't got mine yet.
932  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ | Up to 0.0375 BTC/w on: January 10, 2021, 01:20:11 PM

Thank you for clarification, now i totally understand. I really haven't visited this forum for many months, but only because I wrote under the same nickname on another investment forum and didn't have enough free time.
Thanks again for the detailed explanations, I shouldn't have tried to participate in this signature campaign without making sure that I was fully eligible. I don't know what I was counting on.
Maybe you know, how i can return my trust and grab some green points?

Speak to the person who left you it an try work it out with them. As for gaining trust just be an active member and you should build it up naturally over time, especially if you're active in trades/deals etc.

You can look at it that way but if the consumers believe that 1 BTC in 2021 is worth more than 1 BTC in 2020, they're probably not as likely to pay the same amount.

Just because your operating service doesn't discriminate between USD amounts, it doesn't mean that your consumers do the same.

Not only that, but we also need to take into consideration the important factor that as bitcoin grows in price, so does Bitcointalk's traffic, and most probably so does ChipMixer's traffic(hence also an increase in earnings). So I guess we can probably make the assumption that it sort of all balances out in the end?

Just because companies get paid or pay in bitcoin it doesn't mean it always has to stay at a fixed amount in bitcoin. I doubt Chipmxer is charging the same for their service as they did when bitcoin was worth a few k and adjust it accordingly with the market.

Not only that, but we also need to take into consideration the important factor that as bitcoin grows in price, so does Bitcointalk's traffic, and most probably so does ChipMixer's traffic(hence also an increase in earnings). I admire your optimism but I don't think $30 per post will last... doesn't make much business sense when everyone would happily participate even with a 90% reduction.

To be honest, I think they should lower it or cap it at something or peg the per post to fiat. As much as I appreciate the payments it's a ridiculous amount currently. Maybe they should restructure how much they pay or cap the amount you can get per week to a certain amount as it could get silly. Pegging to fiat isn't a bad thing in times like these. They could lower the amount to x in bitcoin then the bubble bursts and everyone ends up getting underpaid.
933  Other / Meta / Re: Writing a welcome message on: January 10, 2021, 01:12:37 PM
I really wish this would be made a priority. Far too many people are completely ignorant to the rules and oblivious as to what to do here. A simple and short message is all we need detailing the most commonly broken rules and links to further guides and stickies that go into depth about things so they can read up on them if they wish. So many people just have no idea where to even find this stuff and Meta is usually the last board they go into so being directed to these threads when they sign up will be very helpful.

In fact, we have a large number of members who have little understanding of English or don't speak English at all, so the basic forum rules should also translate into all local languages on the forum.
Also, many new members don't have experience with internet forums.
I also see that many new members do not have enough knowledge and experience about crypto and bitcoin and write bad quality posts.
The welcome message will not solve all these problems but will help and should be introduced as soon as possible.

I mentioned somewhere that there should be links to the translated rules/guides as well.
934  Other / Off-topic / Re: Share Good Movies Please? on: January 08, 2021, 08:24:03 PM

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - Great classic movie, a little bit older but holds well for the time. If you like Guy Ritchie and you did not watch this one, what are you waiting for?? If you don't know who Guy Ritchie is, find out as soon as possible!! I suggest you start with Snatch and then proceed with mentioned movie. You can expect a lot of fun and some action but it requires special taste. Sort of like Tarantino or Del Toro movies. Don't get me wrong, those three film makers have nothing in common except that people either love them or hate them.

Lock Stock is great, but a bit low-budget. Snatch was a huge step up and is one of my favourite films. It's got everything. I've always said it's like a British Pulp Fiction. Shame Guy Ritchie never got close to it again though I haven't seen The Gentlemen yet but I doubt it has anything on his first two.
935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 08, 2021, 08:11:39 PM
Liverpool should stuff them with that line-up. Game has kicked off now and they're 1-0 up after 25 minutes.
936  Other / Meta / Re: Writing a welcome message on: January 08, 2021, 08:10:11 PM
Anything would be better than nothing, but I think we should keep the initial message as short and sweet as possible but with links to read more in depth things. If people are blasted with a load of information at the start they're less likely to read it, but they should be encouraged to do so. If they don't and they break the rules then that's their fault.

My apologies. I was careless and admit my mistake. Now I have a valid segwit address - "bc1qgn0yq7j0hp82er4lk923c43jz2c2sepzqwqawl".
I have already edited my post and hope that now I will be accepted Roll Eyes

You have negative feedback. Your chances of getting onto this campaign are next to zero. You've also just popped up from near a 2 year absence just to apply to this campaign (and there was nearly another year gap before that post). If you at least want a shot on this campaign then you should spend time contributing to the forum making worthwhile posts then try, otherwise you're just wasting your time.
