921  Other / Meta / Re: How to add images to posts? on: March 29, 2018, 11:53:48 AM
If I click the "insert image" icon while I'm writing a post, that inserts "img" and "/img" in square brackets into the post... but that doesn't accomplish much - how do I actually get an image into a post?

You have actually not reached the rank to be able to post images, but since you asked about the way of posting an image, so I'll guide you through this.
So you basically cannot post images directly from your device's directory into a post in this forum (or any similar forum). So you need to post images from the web, means you will need the link of an image you want to include in your post. If you have an image in your device and you want to post it, you will first need to upload in into a website like Imgur and then take the link from there. Ok, so let's learn how to do it:

First of all, you will need to go to https://imgur.com/ and upload the image there that you want to post.
Then you will click on "insert image" icon, and you get these tags:
Code:
[img][/img]
Then, you will copy and paste the link of your image from Imgur in between those tags, like this:
Code:
[img]https://i.imgur.com/4aa0MOY.jpg[/img]

Now when you post it, it will show your image in your post (if your rank allows that) like how I did it below.

Understood! Thanks!

Lock the thread before people start to flood it with the same replies that has already made your concept clear about the thing you have asked.
923  Other / Meta / Re: How this user got custom title? on: March 29, 2018, 11:29:07 AM
1.I understand that you can get cuatom title with donation as becoming vip or donor.
2.I understand that back in early days we had option of custom title.

...
....

Dont answer my thread with above two reply.

Want a custom title? Donate 50 BTC https://bitcointalk.org/donate.html
In this case, the problem is not what you have mentioned.

I am going to go with that they asked theymos really nice and he gave it to them, I think that blazed did that, or maybe he has it because he is staff? I thought he asked nicely for it.

I think if you donate a certain amount of BTC you can get the option for a custom title. Tongue

I never heard of the early days custom title thing but I have not been here that long

 Huh Huh
924  Other / Meta / Re: What is the forum members count if there are no alts? on: March 29, 2018, 11:17:46 AM
The amount of alts for every user (intending to use them for farming or signature campaigns) vary from 5 to 30+ in my opinion. Some users carry way more accounts than we can imagine, but not everyone. So no matter how much we try, our estimations assuming the alts of everyone would still be way far from the actual numbers of users unless we get to count the IP addresses of registered users till date. I know people say that anyone can change their IP address when registering a new account, but I don't think they really care to do that as long as it is not prohibited to have more than one accounts from the same IP if one of them made from that IP is permanently banned.
925  Other / Meta / Re: Satoshi would not like the current state of this forum on: March 28, 2018, 05:36:30 PM
This forum (now) has got everything to be liked by anyone, including Satoshi.
No one can bully you if you don't let them to, but you cannot blame them if you do so. So, everyone is treated very fairly as long as they are in the line. The moment someone puts his steps outside the line, he is bullied (as that's what you say it) by everyone inside that line. And how can you know that Satoshi is dead not around anymore? What if like thousand others, he has an alt and visits the forum just as usually as we do, but no one knows that? Or maybe he is in contact with the admins and the ideas implemented for the betterment of the forum are proposed by him. Who knows?  Roll Eyes
926  Other / Meta / Re: Are these members merit sources or what they're doing is OK? on: March 28, 2018, 04:55:42 PM
It is totally OK as long as they are not demanding anything in return, though they might expect to get something out of their service, which is normal in my opinion as all of us have got that natural instinct. We all expect to get positive or encouraging reactions from people for what we do, and getting Merits is just about that.
927  Other / Meta / Re: There is no notice about our post & reply on: March 27, 2018, 12:31:18 PM
I think it'll get too messy if there are notifications for every post of yours being quoted by someone. Although I feel it would be nice to have a notification system for mentions in any thread. For example if I write someone's username followed by @ in my post, they should get a notification for that, just like Twitter.
928  Other / Meta / Re: Soliciting opinions on how to deal with suspected merit abusers on: March 27, 2018, 12:12:14 PM
I don't really think that the people getting neutral feedbacks would care much about it as long as it is not affecting their account from the outside. You might find only a few in thousands who would take that feedback as a warning and stop doing what he got it for. On the other side, leaving a negative feedback to someone not clearly proven guilty for abusing the system sounds unfair too. So the better solution as said by a few already, would be to tag only the ones who are clear threats for the system, and have been constantly abusing it.

930  Other / Meta / Re: Email confirmation on signup on: March 27, 2018, 11:32:33 AM
1. The account is Legendary account with rad tagged from all DT members plus from a lot of regular members. The account is a mess.

That should not restrict you from making another account as he just used your email address but the account was made with his own IP address. So you can simply create another account without any problems since your IP has a clean history in the forum. And if you wish to use the same email for your new account, do what @TheQuin said.

2. The account is a Legendary account with and included in DT

I don't really think a person having enough potential and knowledge to get included in DT would use someone else's email address to create an account and use it like his own as he would probably know he can lose access to it anytime in future if the original owner of the email he used finds it out.
931  Other / Meta / Re: Full Member thanks to the Merit system. on: March 26, 2018, 01:09:17 PM
Congratulations, OP!
You surely deserve what you have achieved, and seeing the progress of a few members of the community, the ones criticizing the system since the day it was implemented, should now understand that the system is actually for the betterment of this forum as only the ones who are capable enough are allowed to get higher positions.

only 2 people here have ranked up since the Merit system was implemented.

That is not true. Maybe they are just the two people who managed to reach Full member rank from Member, but there are more users who managed to rank up from Newbie to Member earning Merits. And I'm one of them as well.
When the system was implemented, I was a Newbie, so I didn't get any Merits initially, but I did not end up complaining about the system that it is unfair and all, but I tried my best to be what the system wants us to be, and I earned enough Merits to reach Member rank successfully without cheating. Now I'm hoping to get enough Merits to reach Full member like OP and a few others, but that is still a long way to go as it seems. I'm hoping for the best, though.

933  Economy / Reputation / Re: mdayonliner's Red Trust removal T&C on: March 26, 2018, 11:45:33 AM
If I were a DT or staff or even high ranked member then I would never give you this second chance. I need to save my own ass.

But you are not a DT or staff member. So it really doesn't make any sense at all to do all this. Not others you have tagged nor you being tagged by them will get affected by exchanging negative feedback between each other as they don't really count. There are hundreds of people with a good reputation in the forum but carrying tons of negative feedbacks in their profile left by immoral users of our community, but that doesn't affect their reputation because even the dumbest person can know those feedbacks make no sense.
So, other than the fact of users accepting their mistakes, this thread has no sense to me. And also the users that are accepting their mistakes in here are tagged because they are guilty and anyone would know that just by checking their trust page.
934  Economy / Services / Re: Website design exclusive training from a retired web-developer on: March 25, 2018, 11:41:10 AM
Isn't it awesome instead of paying hundreds of dollars to someone for creating a website for you,
if you can learn the skills of designing a website for rest of your life?

Designs charging hundreds of dollars would have hundreds of differences than a design made with only CSS3 and HTML5.
Though these are the basics of it, but only with them, you cannot really give a tough competition to anyone in the world right now. I don't really want to criticize your service, but I personally think that you should add some more advance content to be taught to this. You might get some more interested people after doing that, because most of the people having interest in web development already know these basics.
Good luck, anyway.
935  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie Problems how to eliminate? on: March 25, 2018, 11:05:45 AM
I think that restricting posting to a few newbie boards is a better solution.

I suggested the same thing a few days back. Didn't see any mod taking interest in that though. I thought the only way to stop, or at least lessen the thread-making-of-useless-questions is to restrict accounts from below Member rank to post in sections excluding one or two of them. Its effect can only be known if its implemented for even a short period of time on just one section as a test. I'm sure it will be more effective then we might think.
936  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie Problems how to eliminate? on: March 25, 2018, 10:49:10 AM
Please can we have a cryptic precis of the idea.

Any new account right after registration should get a PM or should be directed to a thread in which they can read the rules or any other information they need to know e.g Merit system etc. So that when they get banned for asking the questions that are already answered, they don't get to make the excuse of not knowing the things.
937  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Advice] Starting a Crypto Project on: March 24, 2018, 12:18:54 PM
I personally don't think that a team/project lacking any of these things can really make it through, unless they are extremely lucky, but I doubt luck would keep your business constant if you are not totally prepared for it yourself. You cannot run a business if you don't even have the basics set up perfectly. Its as simple as that.

These are some really nice pointers you posted for anyone working or will be working on any project.  Smiley
938  Other / Meta / Re: Does giving merit to your company isn't allowed? on: March 24, 2018, 11:56:30 AM
Falsified post:

E.g. of company (brother, sister, cousin, friend, parent etc.)

Having sMerit and sending it to my company is my decision since it's my sMerits to give. Why some members give me a negative trust for accusing my account and my cousin's account whose mentoring me in this forum an alternate account? We live in the same roof and using the same bandwith of internet. There's nothing in the rules said that you can't merit your company instead you can send merit to anyone you like.

True version (after a few corrections):

E.g. of alt accounts (in brother's name, sister's name, cousin's name, friend's name, parents' name etc.)

Having sMerit and sending it to my alt is my decision since it's my sMerits to give. Why some members give me a negative trust for accusing my account and my alt account which I'm mentoring in this forum as an alternate account? We live in the same body and using the same bandwith of internet. There's nothing in the rules said that you can't merit your alt instead you can send merit to anyone you like.

Note: Texts colored in blue in second version are changes made from the first version.  Grin
939  Other / Meta / Re: why every day we must repeat the same q in this forum section it's booooring on: March 24, 2018, 11:19:44 AM
Sometimes the questioner has posted comprehensive replies in previous threads. It's quite clearly a ruse to increase post counts, and to scratch a bit of merit.

Since when did people started to Merit such useless questions/posts that they try to scratch Merits doing it? Its nothing else but mere foolishness and lack of knowledge that drag people into asking all these pointless things in a forum compiled totally with useful information. I sometimes feel pity, mixed with a bit of anger, for those people who waste their own time in posting them and our energy for reading them and then replying them with harsh comments coming out naturally from the inside.
940  Other / Meta / Re: TMAN'S guide to getting merit. on: March 24, 2018, 10:57:20 AM
Honestly, i'm nit goid enough in english. Thats why i still learning and learn on this forum.
If you see any mistakes on mine, just free to tell me. I'm realy happy to hear any guide from other.  Smiley

Not good, from december i remember, my etha adsress still count around $18.
As i said before, i don't have much knowledge here.
And seriously, you ask me i have another account?
My answear is No, you can see and if you found any mistake, just inform me.

@Indohunter, you have posted these two posts one after the other, which is against the rules.
Rule No. 32, which says you can't post multiple posts in a row except for the one exclusion that you can read below:

Quote
32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.

Read complete list of rules once, and don't do these simple mistakes in future. It can cost you more than you might think it does. If you want to reply to more than one posts then you have the option to quote all of them in one post. You can quote as many posts as you want in your post. So you don't need to quote all of them in different posts to reply them. And also, learn to cut off the unnecessary texts when you are quoting a text and only keep the text that you are replying to. It looks messy when you quote all the texts and just write something for only one of them.
