21  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fraudulent e mail on: May 07, 2024, 02:41:46 PM
Hello this is my 1st post here. I am fairly new to BTC and have dabbled a little and have an account with Coinbase. I made a small amount of profit and it is held in cash in my coinbase account ATM. This morning I received an e mail from Coinbase telling me I had to immediately move it into an online wallet and gave a link. It all looked v legit until I looked at the e mail address - events@byhealthmeans.com needless to say I won't be transferring the funds but has anyone else had such an e mail from this address before? It was far more professional than other phishing e mails I have had.

Different scammers use different domains and emails to send phishing emails to their targets, good thing is that you didn't fall for it despite it being curated very well.

Scammers are getting smarter day by day, but no matter how smart they become, there will always be some things that they can't bypass and those are the things that will let people know about them, just like the email address in your case which made you realize that it is a phishing email and not an official email from Coinbase.

Since you have seen it already and pretty much know about it in advance, make sure you stay vigilant all the times because this industry is full of scammers and there will be times when you might not even notice and they will run away with your funds, that is how fast and good they can be sometimes, but as long as we are aware and in all our sense at all times, they can't do anything.  Smiley
22  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you have a hard time bringing new people to the forum? on: May 07, 2024, 12:34:37 PM
I have introduced this forum to a few people, it doesn't take them a whole year before they decide to stop using the forum, it seems they believe this forum is a blank check and that's how I knew that crypto isn't for everybody.

I have experienced similar situations where I had either invited people to the forum or just shown the forum to them and they never showed any interest. Some would say they don't understand anything, some say they get a headache when surfing the forum because they don't know what they are doing. The reason behind this is obvious, this forum isn't some social media platform such as Facebook or Instagram where people can see images and visuals and have interactive buttons and stuff, so when they see just texts and texts everywhere and barely any images, etc., they get tired and bored.

Only those who understand the importance of this forum will stay and others will leave even if you try and explain everything to them because as I said, they wouldn't like it here because there is nothing fancy for them to see or watch. People like us who have always loved Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies would find this to be the best place to be whenever we are free.
23  Economy / Economics / Re: Debt Management. on: May 07, 2024, 08:21:06 AM
I don't agree with that very part I bolded, there is nothing absolutely wrong optioning for a loan if the intention is to increase your credit score, my wife and I are testimony to this, we actually relocated in to a new area and later started a provision shop in front of the house of which we discovered that there where no provisions shops in that area we took that advantage and started one with few items just as little as our we can afford at that time, but as time goes on there were several demands of certain goods which were not available because of our limited capital but considering the intensity of the demand of those goods that were not available, we took a loan to buy those goods and we paid back even before the expected time  and that has expanded our business and boost our credit scores, no one should be a debtor on the occasion of trying to sustain or maintain a lifestyle. However, many find it difficult to pay  debt as a habit even when they have it this is one simple truth that is very bitter.

Taking loans for business purposes is never a bad idea, especially if you know that your business can generate enough revenue using that loan to make it possible to repay the loan on time or even before it. In your case, this was exactly what happened because you already had your business started, and you were witnessing the demand for certain products that you knew would generate good revenue for the business, so you felt confident taking the loan because you knew it in advance that you are going to repay the amount before time.

However, it's never a good habit to take personal loans when you don't have a stable source of income and you are not sure whether you will be able to repay the loan on time or not because when you are not earning money at all or not earning constantly, you will only become a defaulter at the end of the day and that isn't a good practice.

So there are good debts and bad debts, a good debt is the debt that is easily payable and wouldn't create problems and a bad debt is the one that will get the borrower in trouble because they won't be able to pay it easily.
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to get your Dad (or Mom) to buy Bitcoin? on: May 07, 2024, 06:05:02 AM
Lol exactly the same thing on my mind.
When I first opened the thread, I had to first scroll down to the end of the post and I literally yelled WTF. I mean that post is just to long. I only had to read a few paragraphs before proceeding to the response/comment session.
Such a lengthy post would definitely discourage people to participate in an active and interactive conversation here because not everyone can be able to dedicate invest their time reading all that, while also considering whatbthe subject of the thread says.

There is nothing wrong with a long post as long as it's interesting and engaging enough to keep the readers intrigued so that they read it whole. It depends on the writer and his writing skills and also the subject being discussed whether the readers will read the whole wall of texts or skip through it.

Writing skills matter a lot when it comes to this because someone with good writing skills and the ability to construct sentences and paragraphs in a way that would make the reader interested will have all their posts read no matter how long they are.

On the other hand, for someone who doesn't put much effort in their writing or care about things such as sentence structure, vocabulary, punctuation, etc., their write-ups will barely catch any interest from the audience.
25  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blackjack.fun |SLOTS|SPORTS|ESPORTS| JACK Token on: May 06, 2024, 04:54:17 AM
The ANN looks great!

I understand the concerns and questions asked by other members, but to be honest, I don't have any issue with a new thread being self-moderated because this might make a lot of things better, and we might now get our questions and concerns answered way quicker than before.

Reporting useless posts and spam to mods might have helped but I guess you can't do that if it's excessive, so there has to be a solution to that, and this probably is the solution and this shouldn't be against the rules since the previous thread has been locked before the creation of the new one.

Let's hope we have a better experience from this point onwards.

Good luck, blackjack.fun team!
26  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: After Joining as a beginner what keeps you going on this forum? on: May 05, 2024, 08:13:54 PM
I believe that every member that didn't have crypto knowledge before joining this forum, felt out of place in the first few months

I can totally relate to that because when I joined the forum, I wasn't just a newbie in here but I didn't have much knowledge about the industry. All I knew was that Bitcoin is a form of digital money because I used to claim Bitcoins from faucets before joining this forum. I stumbled upon this forum while researching Bitcoin and I was lost in the first few months after joining. I didn't know what I should do, used to surf around the forum, and read posts, didn't even know how things worked in the forum.  Grin

As time passed by, I started learning more about the forum, the rules, how one can quote someone and add their message, and how you can do text formatting, and add images, learned them all one by one, and I used to be genuinely happy learning all these things. I was also learning more about Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency industry because I used to read a lot of posts in every section.

There was no Merit system when I first joined, it was introduced later, so I was never chasing merits and always enjoyed learning.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you successfully influenced someone to invest in bitcoin ? on: May 05, 2024, 07:55:47 PM
I did influence a friend, who later became a hodler. He bought bitcoin close to a year after me and holds most of it to this day. AFAIK owns around 10 BTC.
He never really thanked me for that but acknowledged it in a way because we talked about it a few times and he was happy how bitcoin turned out and I reminded him who told him about it and that prompted him to respond that he's happy we had this conversation back then blah blah blah, so I guess that could be compared to a thank you.

I wonder how the conversation you guys had after the investments would be if his investment hadn't worked out.  Grin

That would make you feel super awkward even to meet him or initiate a conversation about Bitcoin, whenever you were around that friend, you would hope and wish that no one should mention cryptocurrencies or Bitcoin because that would remind him of his investment and that you were the one who suggested it to him.

These are the things that make me refrain from doing such things because even though I know Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies can be profitable in the long run, I also understand the risks involved and that if someone becomes a reckless investor or trader, the blame would be on me since I was the one bringing them to it in the first place.
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Regulations Not Working as Planned?? on: May 05, 2024, 07:40:36 PM
Personally I think governments are having a hard time trying to control crypto because even they do not understand it completely. Its decentralized nature makes it hard for the government to just grab it by its neck and kill it. Crypto is a very gray area if you will so regulations must be wisely implemented.

What makes you think the governments don't understand cryptocurrencies or the blockchain system? Apart from a few third-world countries where government officials are chosen based on power and most of them are a bunch of illiterates, all other governments consist of people who are very well-educated and understand everything very clearly, they live in the same world as we do. So if we can understand everything, they can understand it too.

There is no rocket science in it, everything is very clear and easily understandable, and anyone conducting a bit of research can understand everything. When we talk about regulations, they know very well what they need to do, and they have regulated platforms and things where they know most people would go at some point, such as centralized exchanges that we use to convert our cryptocurrencies into fiat through the P2P marketplaces.

These platforms ask us to verify our identities before we use their services, why so? Because they are regulated. So, in a country where the government has regulations in place, a person within that country using a centralized P2P exchange is easily exposed to them.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I buy ALTs now or no? on: May 05, 2024, 06:14:02 PM
Honestly, Ive got mixed feelings on those communities pushing hot crypto tips.  Although, DCA-ing seems wise to me too. Takes some emotion out of the investing process.

As for the call on a coming dip Id need to know if thats based on charts & models or just speculation.  Not saying Id ignore experience-based hunches - this game has lots of unseen currents.  But backing it with data would make the warning resonate more.  Whats the group seeing that suggests rougher waters ahead?

I agree with that. Everyone knows that if there are two outcomes, one of them has to happen, but if someone is saying one of them has more chances of happening, they need to back their statements with some data that should make their statements stand out so that those reading or listening to them can have at least some trust in what they are saying. Even if I say that I feel like Bitcoin is going to go up in the next few months, if I'm not providing any data that I have analyzed or any proof for my research, it's all useless because anyone can speculate based on gut feelings.

So we can find a lot of experts if we start believing just in speculations they are making and this is probably one of the reasons why the whole market is so confused whether they should start investing or wait because some say there is going to be another dip, some say the market will start going up soon, and some say there won't even be a bull run anymore.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pangolin - anyone else invested? on: May 05, 2024, 06:02:46 PM
Did you look at its historic chart? The coin/token had an average price of $0.05 from May 2022 up until Feb 2024 which is around 2 years, and that is probably the reason why it has a low market cap because it never had a high price. The market cap of a coin doesn't show how much potential it has because it is just a figure that shows how much is the value of the token multiplied by its supply, and if a coin or a token has a low market cap, it means it isn't in demand. Its value is low, and whether or not it will be in demand in the future is always unknown.

Its price started moving just recently, and it hasn't been able to go anywhere above $0.62 or something, what makes you think that it will go up to $5? The all-time high of it is $4.99 and it's down almost 90% from its all-time high.

I hope you get your desired profits from it, but to be honest, I don't find much potential in it.

First of all, you don't need to use an AI language model to generate tweet-like posts for your project, you should at least be able to do that yourself. After that, you are not supposed be posting this in this section because it's the wrong section. When you are announcing a project that is most probably related to altcoins, you make the post in the Announcements (Altcoins) section because that is the board where announcements related to altcoin projects should be posted.

One more thing, you can't write a couple of lines about a project without any link or other details and expect the community to go crazy about it if you are announcing your project, you need to work a little bit on it and make the announcement look better with more texts and details, you can even buy Copper Membership to be able to post images as well.

Since you are brand new in the forum and probably don't know how a topic can be moved, let me report it to a mod and they will do that for you, but please work on the other things I have suggested above.
32  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Lack of capital or knowledge, which one is holding traders back from profits? on: May 05, 2024, 03:44:21 PM
I was depending on my trading profits until I got to know that trading needs a trader to have other jobs because you can not only depend on trading profits when you do not know how to trade excellently.

It's an obvious thing, if you can't trade very well, you can't depend on it, but if you are earning profits from it that is enough for you to sustain your daily needs and be able to trade without any problems then you don't need another job, but that is only if you have enough money to continue trading.

What can you say about this two problems, how will you advice a trader that is suffering from any of this problems or how did you get out of the problem if you had suffered from having lack of capital or lack of knowledge. Which of this problem is more common among traders?.

I'd say that both knowledge and capital are equally important for a trader to gain success because if you lack one, you can't do it. If you have knowledge and no capital, you can't trade because you need funds to initiate your trading career. And if you have funds but no knowledge, you can't do it again because even if you have funds, you don't know how things are done and if you try blindly, you will only lose your money.
33  Economy / Economics / Re: Harmful effect of robot to the world. on: May 05, 2024, 03:32:28 PM
I am sure that most businesses will prefer robots because they are getting maximum efforts. Robots although they probably need some maintenance but I am sure that they do not have to “rest” as much as people do.

Overworking employees have always been one of the things that a lot of businesses tend to do. With robots they can finally do it. It is like the rebirth of the industrial era where machines were first introduced except this time more jobs that used to be only done by humans can be now done by basically much more sophisticated machines.

You are right about the fact that machines can work way more than humans and they tend to do the same work that humans do more efficiently and accurately, however, I'm not sure about cutting costs by replacing humans with machines because their maintenance might cost more than the average salary of an employee doing the same work. In case one of them or some of them gets out of order and requires replacement or repair, it might cost a fortune to the company while if it's a human that needs to be replaced, the company hires another worker without spending any money.

There is no doubt that robots will replace humans in a lot of places and take their jobs, but there will always be other opportunities and positions for humans to take that robots can't do. So humans that think they are doing jobs that can easily be done by a robot or a machine should think of upgrading their skills or learning some other skill in the mean time.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why you shouldn't force someone to invest in bitcoin. on: May 05, 2024, 03:25:24 PM
Although on the other hand, he can also praise you excessively when he has benefited from what you suggested, so you also need to consider this before forcing someone to invest in the ideas you will give him.

That's not always true, a lot of people wouldn't give you credit if they had success from something you suggested but they wouldn't hesitate blaming you for the failure of an investment or a business or anything that you suggested they should do. So it's better to not give suggestions to anyone even if they ask for them.

I used to give free suggestions to people all around, only about things that I thought could be beneficial for them, but I stopped doing that when I found out that when things don't work out for them, they start blaming me for it.

Something that works for you doesn't have to work for someone else as well, so you can't suggest others what worked for you because if it doesn't work for them, they wouldn't think this way and say it's okay, but they would say it was you who suggested it and now it failed.
35  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What can we do to make Bitcoin hit $100k on: May 05, 2024, 01:36:43 PM
I have always been thinking about what we could do to make Bitcoin hit a tremendous amount.

Is there anything we could do??

Yes, make very large investments or make a lot of people invest a reasonable amount in it and keep doing that, and make sure there is always positive news about Bitcoin in the market so that other investors don't panic and start a huge sell-off which can make the price drop.

Bitcoin's value goes up and down based on the supply and demand rule, so when there is a lot of demand for it which means there will be more people willing to buy than those willing to sell, the price will start going up because buyers will be ready to pay any amount to get some of it and sellers will keep increasing the price of the assets they are willing to sell.

However, if there is less demand and more supply which means more people are willing to sell while there aren't a lot of buyers, sellers will start lowering the asking price because they want to sell as soon as possible, and buyers will also lower the demanding price and the price will keep doing down this way.
36  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Before Trading Bitcoin you should... on: May 05, 2024, 01:31:13 PM
People are trading Bitcoin more often but I think if instead of trading we invest in Bitcoin then our loss will be minimum or we will not face any loss if we have learning skills about Bitcoin. Trading requires more time and more energy as compared to investment and you will not work in other jobs properly but will focus all the time in the market chart to check out the price.

Those who are into trading barely have any other work to do because trading is a full-time gig, you can't be trading while having a day job because that contradicts the requirements of trading in which you need to stay active in the market at all times unless you are a part-time trader where you make a couple of trades only when you are free from your day job but in that case, you can't guarantee much profit because you won't have a lot of understanding about the movements of the market since you don't watch it all the time.

Don't sell one thing to invest in other things because every thing has its own value and importance which we should keep in mind. We should use extra money into Bitcoin investment but should not sell our property or something else just to hold Bitcoin.

Someone having less knowledge and experience about the cryptocurrency market will do such things. Those who have been around for some time would know that they aren't supposed to use money that isn't extra for accumulating or trading cryptocurrencies because it involves risks and despite the risks, one can have their funds stuck in an investment because the market doesn't go up all the time.
37  Economy / Economics / Re: Ever dreamt of turning your passion into profit? on: May 05, 2024, 01:20:55 PM
Yeah, it doesn't just sound fun but it is fun if you can do it. Unfortunately, in my case, I couldn't do it, or I could say I never got the opportunity to try very hard.

Gaming has always been my passion, I've always loved playing games up until now, I used to be good at playing almost any game that I played and I knew I had it in me, but for some reason, I couldn't make a profession out of it or monetize my passion.

When I was younger, I was dependent on my father and then on my elder brother to take care of my expenses such as education and stuff, and being a good boy who has been raised very well, I have always tried not to put a lot of burden on them, and we all know how expensive it used to be and it still is to have a proper gaming and streaming setup, so I never urged to get one.

When I graduated from college, I did try running a YouTube channel, I used to record the games that I played and uploaded montages and stuff on the channel. The channel actually started taking off a little bit, but then I got busy with my personal life, got married early for personal reasons, and then couldn't carry that on.

Despite all that, I can say that the dream is still alive inside of me and it will always be, and as soon as life gives me another opportunity, I'll try my best to make it come true.  Smiley

P.S.: It's not a made-up story.
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin the Dubmest Thing Ever Invented on: May 05, 2024, 01:09:03 PM
What are you trying to achieve?

Let me ask the same question to you. What are you trying to achieve exactly? What are your arguments about if you don't hate Bitcoin or think it is useless? Let's say you don't hate Bitcoin but you just think it is something not worth giving this much hype or importance or it is something completely useless, in either way, you are not going to gain anything by sitting in the forum created by the creator of Bitcoin and try and convince people about what your beliefs are because that is not going to work. So it's dumb of you to be trying to achieve that here. You can go preach what you are trying to prove here on some busy street and you might find a few people standing with you among the crowd but that is barely going to happen here, my friend.

Besides, if you think Bitcoin is useless or whatever, do you believe that companies and firms such as MicroStrategy, Grayscale, Blackrock, Microsoft, Tesla, and many more along with their owners and management are a bunch of fools being interested in something useless?
39  Other / Meta / Re: SUGGESTION FOR OUR FORUM on: May 05, 2024, 10:06:01 AM
Forum is against Altcoin airdrops, you must know about it.

Giveaway threads are not allowed

The rule you are referring to isn't about airdrops, please read what theymos has written about it:

Most giveaway threads are no longer allowed in the Alternate cryptocurrencies sections. From now on, posting or replying to such threads could result in being banned. Existing threads will be locked.

Specifically, you are not allowed to give people any incentive to post insubstantial posts in your threads. You can't offer to pay people who post their addresses, usernames, etc. You can do giveaways off-site and link to the giveaway page in a thread, but you can't give people any bonus for replying to your thread.

The rule is about on-forum giveaways or providing incentives to users making posts in your threads or asking them to post certain stuff to get a reward from you, and it specifically says that you can do giveaways off-site and provide a link to the giveaway page in your thread.

So, since airdrops are almost always off-site and no one is paid to do tasks within the forum, I don't think the forum is against them. However, I still don't find any reason for theymos to create a separate sub-board for such things.
40  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Enjoy being a newbie on: May 05, 2024, 09:56:08 AM
One more thing, newbies will have to learn to take negative criticism because that will eventually make them stronger. Don't take criticism personally and try to learn from it and you will see yourself growing in the long run.

I agree because we can often see newbies being extra emotional and sensitive like they are children who expect a lot of care from us and as soon as one of us scolds them a little bit about a mistake, they start crying as to why they were scolded even if they have made a mistake, we should have made them understand with love. Such people need to understand that sometimes it becomes necessary for elders to do that to make the children understand that a certain thing shouldn't be done again because if it's done again, they will be scolded or beaten for it.

Not every single member of this forum may start showing so much love and affection towards newbies that they should never use a single harsh word towards them even if they are making mistakes again and again, so newbies need to understand that they need to learn and improve if they don't want to face such things. If you are a newbie, you stay in the forum for as long as 2 years, and you still remain a newbie while having none of your concepts clear about anything, you can't expect members to entertain basic questions from you because you have had enough time to learn everything.
