941  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis on: December 23, 2017, 05:45:23 PM
so it's either 70 grand in a few weeks via a couple of methods or a fright from hell and years long wait? i don't like them odds too much. there'd have to be a massive wave of renewed mania to go above where we've been and i ain't sniffing too much out on the horizon right now.

even if this mania did arrive, i wonder how the exchanges are gonna cope considering the state they're in right now.
942  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I just divorced my wife and put every cent I have into Blackbytes on: December 23, 2017, 05:27:19 PM
Nice intro though is really eye catching story but not a good investment for me,ive researched its background and analyzed the project its a NO.

then tell us your thoughts as to why it's a no. someone might learn something, or someone might update your own learning. put it out there and let's enlighten each other.
943  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 23, 2017, 05:17:46 PM
interesting - https://www.lottoland.ie/bitcoinlotto

is this a mainstream first?
944  Economy / Trading Discussion / successful traders/holders - has more affluence reduced your hunger? on: December 23, 2017, 05:15:51 PM
through no fault of my own i've reached a level of crypto balance that i wasn't expecting or so soon. for me at least this has inspired me to stick with the coins i know and ease up on the scrabbling around for the next big thing.

i simply don't know any more what will come out of nowhere and there's too much noise out there to focus on new stuff. a couple of years ago one brain could still take it all in. it doesn't feel like that any more.

so people who've done ok or more, are you still trading and scanning threads like crazy and hopping between projects or sitting back and letting the things you already have ride?
945  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best GDAX alternative? on: December 23, 2017, 05:07:04 PM
i'd go for gemini. you don't have to be a US resident to register but the list of other countries available is limited - https://gemini.com/areas-of-operation/

it also depends on what type of trading you want to do. there will be ultra fast p2p alternatives depending on where you are. bitcoin.de is super fast but it might wind up costing more.

also although kraken is still awful their big upgrade should be arriving soon if it hasn't already. keep an eye out on kraken threads. it might get a lot better soon.
946  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: The SEC Crackdown on Suspicious Cryptocurrencies Is Getting Serious on: December 23, 2017, 02:32:43 AM
surely their hands are still tied? they can only come down hard if there's some overlap with the markets they currently regulate. i don't see how they can crack down on a pure crypto ico, there has to be some stock market or fiat element in there.

they sure can declare some of these icos as securities, but if they're being run by some russian accepting monero their work will be cut out for them. i guess the accessible exchanges might feel some pressure if they try to trade these tokens.
947  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do companies want me to use Bitcoin Cash? on: December 23, 2017, 01:47:21 AM
What kind of companies are you talking about? BCH is just another shitcoin, honestly, they have NOTHING standing for them, just pure hype, and the fact, that they are not congested yet.

bitpay are adopting it. coinbase also do payment processing so they might add it for that too. gotta say i'm shocked that supposedly reputable companies would choose centralised junk like this as their premier payment rail. it has no decentralisation. absolutely none. why bother even mining it? do a bitmain database instead.

with bitcoin fees the way they are there are entire industries that used to use bitcoin but can't any more. it simply doesn't make any sense with the way it is right now.

that said they should be moving towards litecoin. that's a coin that has an actual future. bcash is worthless crap.
948  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Segwit2x Fork will make the BTC price rise on: December 23, 2017, 01:12:19 AM
it's not big enough or well publicised enough to inspire people to make bitcoin moves just for this. there's a law of diminishing effects with forks and it's already in play.

this fork is put together by nobodies stealing the 2x name.
949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: McAfee speaks coins and tokens on: December 23, 2017, 01:03:38 AM
I think this man is getting old, what his doing is pumping all these coins he tweeted about, I don't like what this market is turning to, some people are breaking rules at will

there are no rules. haven't you noticed yet? it might be a long, long time until there are some. even if there are, there are a million corners of the internet where this stuff could continue.

i hope someone is making notes about his tweets vs price. it would be interesting to see if there are any effects.
950  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-15] UK Regulator: If Investing in Bitcoin, “Be Prepared to Lose Your... on: December 21, 2017, 10:42:08 PM
Look who is saying that . UK "REGULATOR" . I mean isn't it obvious to get such comments on bitcoin coming from such authorities .

even if this guy doesn't regulate it, he probably still fields a bunch of calls every day from idiots who sent their bitcoin into scams or oblivion. he may as well put his opinion out there in public. and he's right too.
951  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin drop so fast!! on: December 21, 2017, 10:38:12 PM
the one to watch is american tax season in january. people will have been waiting until then and there sure are gains to realise since this time last year.
952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good moment to invest in NXT ? on: December 21, 2017, 08:55:58 PM
so you think there s no future in those coins?
I m here for the long term ( 1 year at least )

i can't tell you about any coin. there are too many. if you research it and believe in what they're trying to do then go for it.

but the prices of all these things are commanded by whales. they want you to pile in at all time highs. then they sell all and buy it back off people when they've lost hope. i've no idea what these prices will do but keep that in mind.

none of these markets are real or running off fundamentals yet. it's all hot air.
953  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 21, 2017, 08:38:22 PM
My advice as a veteran since $49 is to take some profit if you're well into the green to soothe your nerves, and to make sure you hold at least 1 BCH for every 1 BTC you hold.

you sure your advice isn't coming from an ever so slightly different angle? just curious.
954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2x IS BACK ON! on: December 21, 2017, 08:37:07 PM
are some of you people really this gullible?

it's nothing to do with the original plan. it's a bunch of random assholes who've taken the name and stuck it on their project. any one of you could do the exact same thing. in fact what's stopping you? launch before them and use their free publicity.
955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good moment to invest in NXT ? on: December 21, 2017, 08:22:26 PM
ok , what about Verge? and siacoin? good coins to invest in now? they increased x10 recently , but still low price

the way to do it is buy coins before and offload during the pump, not pile in when the people behind it have already made all the money they want. scratch around at a lower level and see if there's anything you dig.
956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: McAfee speaks coins and tokens on: December 21, 2017, 08:16:07 PM
this guy is a madman and i don't understand why people are interested in his opinions on coins. he is a late arrival. however you can probably make plenty off the stupid pumps he's attempting to initiate.
957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have NEVER seen Bitcoin in such a sorry state as this!! on: December 21, 2017, 08:05:15 PM

I will be heading partially to BCash... which is the original Bitcoin that Satoshi described in his white paper.  That is also the Bitcoin that Core supported before they sold their souls to Bankers & Blockstream.

I urge you to look into Core's constant claims of "BCH is centralized!!" because these are empty, baseless claims.  Core is centralized and is trying to protect their vaunted space in the cryptosphere and censor, ban, intimidate anyone who challenges them.

I will not be going to Litecoin or any other coin that entertains the notion of off-chain gimmickry.  There is a reason Charlie sold when he did, he understands that Segwit/Lightning is a dud.

Merry Christmas!

this is a total insult to anyone with nominal levels of intelligence. i don't even need to write anything. this is all anyone needs to look at to know what centralisation is.

https://cash.coin.dance/blocks/thisweek

antpool, other pools that are pubicly known to be in their pocket, and the majority by an undeclared miner.

kinda hard to guess who that might be. but we can try.
958  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good moment to invest in NXT ? on: December 21, 2017, 07:48:18 PM
the only reason nxt pumps is because of the free coins. once they're done it goes back to obscurity. there is literally no other reason to buy it and i'm sure large nxt holders know this perfectly well. expect more of them in the future.
959  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have NEVER seen Bitcoin in such a sorry state as this!! on: December 21, 2017, 07:39:15 PM
simple. bitcoin is being attacked by the people behind bcash. the attackers are the same people who are mining bitcoin. if core had taken charge of block size increase they might have eased off or because core were still in charge they'd continue attacking. as it's miners doing this then they collect their own fees. if someone else gets their own fees then they still collect the super high ones from hapless users. this means they can continue indefinitely until their stranglehold is broken.

this is all because of the centralisation of mining. if that's broken then maybe we'll be ok. if it isn't then bitcoin will fail and deserve to as well. we're seeing the effects of centralisation and too much power in a small number of hands right now.

anyone moving to bcash is being herded there by the people who are screwing you over right now. they mine all of it. they control development too. i am not giving them control of my money.

you will be doing exactly what they want you to do. the best thing you can do if you want to keep a hand in crypto is head for litecoin or anything else that isn't so politicised and nefarious.
960  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2x IS BACK ON! on: December 19, 2017, 10:05:19 PM
considering no one knows which coins are satoshi's that's seriously impressive detective work. maybe they should sell that info and make more money than some crappy fork.
