How about transferring them to your G.ASICMINER-PT, then proportionally distributing them so everyone can decide for themselves what to do with them.
Voila!
The problem is this only works in a perfect world, it will be to much fractions to this to end up being fair.
Hence I am not sure how to distribute them perfectly so that people feel they are being treated fair.

Great idea strello!   Cool

I for one am not at all bothered about the fraction of a share.

Just round our portions down to the nearest whole number and settle the rest in BTC later.  What's so hard about that?

My main concern is that GBF owns 4,607 ASICMINER shares purchased for BTC0.1 and which now sell for around BTC0.7 on the Bitfunder pass-through.

Let's use G.ASICMINER-PT to free up some of the assets which have been stuck in GBF for a very long time.

Perfect is the enemy of good...

Perfect is the enemy of good is an aphorism or proverb meaning that insisting on perfection often results in no improvement at all.  The phrase is commonly attributed to Voltaire

Way back then (2011), a mining pool was pretty much the same thing as a mining team.  And we hashed using abacuses and trained pterodactyls, Flintstone-style.

The emergence of friendly, healthy intra-pool rivalries is a good example of Bitcoin scaling as it grows up.

Welcome to the latest metasystem transition; you're soaking in it!   Cool

Mining Teams are great fun!  The SETIs, Folders, and BOINCers have had them since forever.

Let the granfalloonery commence!   Cheesy

OP is 100% correct.  Bitcoin is a way for The Network to trick cryptonerds into building them rainbow tables.

Only Fort Meade has enuf exabytes to store them all...

I'm sure friedcat has better things to do than deal with piddly amounts of shares, so let's assume his exchange will be operational before GBF pays back 100%.

If GBF continues to hold assets in anticipation of future profits, past 100% payback, that's a strange definition of "closing."  More like 'closed to new investors.'
9449  Economy / Securities / Re: [Investment fund] Gamma Bitcoin Fund [Closing] on: March 01, 2013, 09:07:47 PM
Suppose 100% does get paid...then we will continue to get paid 101%+?  Or will will sell your ASICMINER shares?

Investors only get paid 100% and the fund manager gets to keep the shares?

IOW, we took the risk, and DT takes the reward?

No effing way!  That really wouldn't be fair to us long suffering GBF investors.

I'm sure there's a better solution, such as in kind dividends:

Who else votes to proportionally distribute the ASICMINER, etc. shares once 100% payout is complete?

Bitcoin is like a virus.  the blockchain is like its DNA.  we are the ribosomes that run up and down the blockchain and synthesize the proteins which make the system stronger.

Bitcoin is a 4D printer, self-assembling a new monetary regime using excess energy left over from the inefficient burning trash heap of Fiat Ben Fun Bux.

No but if you are interested in buying we have 69 shares. PM with price.

Don't forget to always use escrow, especially when dealing with TradeFortress.  He's a huge fan of escrow and wouldn't have it any other way!   Wink
9452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Litecoin really really cheap right now? Or is it dying? on: February 28, 2013, 11:33:25 PM
BTC-E is by far the largest Litecoin exchange.

But several vocal Litecoin groupies have decided to boycott BTC-E as a result of their hissy fit over their support for a second scrypt-based altcoin.

ASICs should recharge Litecoin's batteries once they drive difficulty out of sight for GPU miners.

If Dwolla had a clue, they could've easily done what Coinlab just did, and worked with Gox to become its US subsidiary.  They had 2 years to figure out that Bitcoin was the future, and failed miserably.

Instead, they will go out of business.  Good riddance.

WTF is Dwolla?  Aren't they the people that sell overpriced orange juice?   Grin

Rick Rule and Sprott are Very Big Players.

They manage billions of dollars.  Sprott's personal fortune is over a billion too.

If these whales enter (or even dip a tentative flipper into) our very tiny Bitcoin pond, watch out for the splash!
