Wasn't Aaron Swartz working on a decentralized P2P version Twitter when they decided to lock him up for 30 years?

Lel, the local police department is asking people to stop tweeting about #Dorner.

They're afraid of supporters rushing to the scene to help the man complete his mission.

They want him killed without Due Process, in an information vacuum.

Look how many news sites have turned off (the flood of overwhelmingly anti-police) comments on Dorner articles.

The lamest excuse I saw was "they're becoming repetitive."  Aww, poor babies.   Cheesy

What wusses; no wonder people are so furious at the media and pissed at all the dirty cops.

"OMG too many Americans still support watering the tree of liberty!  Quick, silence them before we lose our cushy BS paper pushing jobs!"
9543  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the alt coins aren't reacting to the btc price increase? on: February 12, 2013, 11:36:16 PM
People are still in ASIC denial.  The Avalon fiasco only made it worse.

LTC spiked when BTC block rewards halved.

It will spike again when BTC and LTC difficulty go through the roof and on to the moon.

Long term, LTC will be more viable for small transactions as the BTC processing fees increase.

I wonder if they got the right guy this time.

Ustream, or it isn't happening....!

COMMIN' OUT DA SLUMS!!!
It's da hoodlums
I'm pullin' my gat out on all you bums
So bring it on when you wanna come fight this
Outlaw, I'll kick ya like Billy Ray Cypress Hill
Kill, I'll bust that grill
Grab my gat, and load up the steel
And if you wanna get drastic
I'll pull out my blasted glock, automatic,
Synthetic material, bury your blocks-n-mortar
Headed down to da Mexican border
Smokin' that smellie, Northern Cali,
Gonna put a slug in Captain O'Malley
Ho, hum-Hear the gat come
Boooooommmmmm!
Let me see what you'll do when you're sent to kill a man
But I'll be damned if I don't take a stand

We ain't goin' out like that
We ain't goin' out like that
"We ain't goin' out!"

I'm high strung
Click I'm sprung
'Cause I don't live on the hum-drum
Where I'm from the gats'll be smokin'
I'll be damned if ya think I'm jokin'
Know that I come with the static, erratic, .45 automatic
Screamin' at ya-the red lights beamin' at ya
No need to haf'ta run after the punk-ass who'd run up to my crew
Dig the grave for the one who got played
Now he's under
Don't make stevie wonder why 'cause you'll testify
We ain't goin' out like that

I got to thinkin' "What the fuck is this?"
Lettin' you know I take care of business
Can I get a witness?
To verify when I DEPICT THIS!
That makes you ecstatic
Tragic, when I get a poof of the magic buddha
When I roll with my crew
I betcha one time can't find my hooda!
IN MY VE-HICLE with the belt unbuckled (I don't know this line)
Pig rollin' up but he ain't that subtle
Pulled to da curb
So we exchange a few words
But he got me stirred up
"Ought not to grab the handcuffs.
I'll huff-n-puff-n-blow ya head up!"
We ain't goin' out like that

Good points Epoch.

Also consider that proxied getworks from hashpower have much higher reject/stales than a stratum pool.

9549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What exactly is wrong with LTC? on: February 11, 2013, 10:09:24 PM
There's nothing wrong with LTC.

LTC is BTC's understudy.  If something catastrophic happened to BTC, LTC is ready to act as a substitute for the duration of the emergency.

LTC also provides an ASIC-proof form of cryptocash, giving GPU miners something to do after the Lunar New Year celebration.

You're talking about mechanics, not rules.

And parameters.  As a general rule, mechanics need parameters or it just gets ugly.   Cool

Im french...

That's great, but you're a modern French not one of the olde timey left-anarchist French.

I'm well aware France makes some very nice right-wing libertarians these days...

The only other option is they faked the ASIC and its a bulky front end to a Fpga farm somewhere on the net.

Jeff's box is just a dummy terminal connected to Hashpower, isn't it?   Grin
9553  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-02-09 On Wikileaks, Bitcoin... on: February 11, 2013, 05:18:58 PM
Anarcho-socialism is a disturbing yet clever example of such difference, even if the concept makes no sense.

The first people called libertarians were French anarchists.

They didn't believe in a minimal "night watchman" state or even private property, in stark contrast to modern libertarians and anarcho-capitalists.

It's a confusing concept to Americans, born in the land of liberty, who breathe the sweet air of freedom and historically practice capitalism

However to the benighted French, given their culture's background of communitarian feudalism and tribalism, anarcho-socialism makes perfect sense.

Vive la différence!
9554  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ron Paul Asks UN to seize RonPaul.com Domain from supporters on: February 11, 2013, 04:51:21 PM
Let's not make a mountain out of a molehill here, because many libertarians believe in the concept of intellectual property.

Quote
Ron Paul wants ownership of his namesake domain, and he's not willing to pay for the privilege. Instead, the former Congressman and presidential candidate has forged a complaint with the UN's World Intellectual Property Organization asking the agency to grant him ownership of both RonPaul.com and RonPaul.org. "Ron Paul's name and his associated Ron Paul mark have become synonymous with the Complainant and his books, articles, public appearances, and political commentary," reads the complaint. "Ron Paul has no relationship with the Respondents and has not authorized the Respondents to use the Ron Paul name."

Ron Paul also served as a Congressman, although he despises politicians and Washington DC!!!  OMG hippokrit, how dare he work within the system?!!!111!?
9555  Other / Politics & Society / Re: There is a man who has declared war against the Los Angeles Police Department... on: February 11, 2013, 03:39:54 AM
I condemn his tactics, but he has been very effective at exposing the LAPD's corruption and incompetence. He's better than the average madman at least.

Where are all the 2nd Amendment hating, anti-RKBA people who usually say crap like "But But But what can ONE MAN do against the police and army?"

Sniveling under a rock would be my guess.   Cheesy
9556  Other / Politics & Society / Re: There is a man who has declared war against the Los Angeles Police Department... on: February 11, 2013, 02:03:40 AM
Looks like the unconnected random mishaps involving firearms are going to continue as scheduled until everyone's on their knees begging for the gov to confiscate every weapon in the country.

Feh.  They have drones and tanks.  We have guns and memes.  Game on, piglets!

9558  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitmit - Bitcoin shopping mall (Translators wanted) on: February 11, 2013, 12:03:34 AM
Here's an English tip:

"Coins & Bullions" should be Coins & Bullion.

'Bullion' is a mass noun, it can be singular or plural.
9559  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-02-09 On Wikileaks, Bitcoin... on: February 10, 2013, 11:47:16 PM
I'm not a libertarian by any means, but it annoys me that he's linking the entire currency to one political ideology.  Undecided

Don't let the silly Marxist get under you skin.  Transmute that annoyance into amusement; just laugh at him.  It's a fun and healthy use of willpower.

Small minds like his can't hope to say anything intelligent about, much less contribute to, the Bitcoin experiment.

So, as an ego defense mechanism, he needs to reduce Bitcoin down to and conflate it with something he has pre-made (supposedly withering) critiques of (IE Libertarianism).

The notion that a hot new technology like Bitcoin has anything to do with an old busted ideology like Marxism is sheer comedy!    Cheesy
9560  Economy / Economics / Re: inflation (Kondratieff Winter) on: February 10, 2013, 01:58:55 AM
Socialism/communism is much more corrosive than just the negative effect any single ruling party can have. As a mindset, it imbibes at least half the population, sometimes as many as 90%, with an entitled culture whereby they spend most of their lives looking over the fence jealously envying what someone else has and thinking somehow that their birthright has been stolen from them. The net effect is it tears the fabric of society apart as individuals turn/work against each other, instead for themselves albeit in total in the same direction.

OMG You are so mean!!!  GRow a HEart!!11
