961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Development On Mt. Gox Scam on: February 21, 2015, 11:24:12 PM
Breakingnews Kerpeles owns BTER too  Tongue

It would be crazy if that was true.
Karpeles only owned MT Gox and has made enough money from that to retire for life.

963  Economy / Economics / Re: Dollar coming to an end on: February 18, 2015, 10:55:00 PM
Sorry, but i have heard plenty of people for years going on about "the end of the dollar", hasn't happened yet, and i still cannot see it happening at all.

MEPH
It will happen tho, but the EUR must go down first.

EUR is solid for now... at least until 28 February when Greece must take a decision.
964  Economy / Economics / Re: Peter Schiff about the Winklevoss twins interview about the future of Bitcoin on: February 18, 2015, 10:52:55 PM
When the US Dollar will lose most its value in a short period of time, owning gold or bitcoin should be great.

I agree, and I would love to have gold at that time. But Bitcoin is much easier to use in such a situation.

Of course Bitcoin is great and easier to move, store and trade than Gold but Gold is great too. It is the father of Bitcoin.

Gold is deprecated compared to bitcoin.
In fact everything is.

Gold is used in various industries and in jewellery, it is the best metal and is trust by many everywhere in the world. It is not in the chart. I like the chart otherwise.

Bitcoin has value but it doesn't mean Gold doesn't.
I dont trust gold unless the actual gold is sitting next to me.

967  Economy / Economics / Re: Anybody else notice trading volume is up by 7x for the last 30 days? on: February 18, 2015, 01:30:32 AM
I didnt notice much beyond regular speculation. It's low-price-calm season where whales secretly stack up on retards selling their cheap coins.
968  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin be around in 5 years? If so, what's its price? on: February 18, 2015, 01:23:57 AM
10-30$
Oh cmon, dont ruin our optimism party. If Bitcoin is that low by then it means we survived WW4.
969  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculation Troll Rant on: February 18, 2015, 01:22:39 AM
We are emotional animals, the drama is normal when you put money on the line. Over dramatizing things can also be pretty hilarious. For example saying that the only reason to not jump off a very tall building is due the hope of BTC reaching 10K in 10 years.
970  Economy / Speculation / Re: Great time to buy on: February 18, 2015, 01:16:39 AM
Best time we have had to buy in a long time.

Price @ time of post: "Over $1000"  Sad

Actually the price had dropped from over $1200 to almost $850 (MtGox price, which is what CoinBase was using at the time).

I think I was lucky enough to buy under $900 before it went back up over $1100.

It was certainly a great time to buy.

I only wish my phone didn't screw up when it was at the low.

indeed.
And the title is good time to buy, not good time to HODL forever

Buying is not uncompilable with HODling already bought BTCS.
971  Economy / Speculation / Re: Spring is coming on: February 18, 2015, 01:15:51 AM
Spring is my favourite part of the year. Weather starts to go up so does bitcoin price, then enjoy the gains in the summer.
972  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How Vladimir Putin is building alliances around the world on: February 18, 2015, 01:13:20 AM
I cant believe he is allied with the North Korean nutjob. Funniest part is some people defend it.
973  Other / Politics & Society / Re: EU and Greece talks fail! another cyprus moment looms! on: February 17, 2015, 11:36:03 PM
There's no reason why the Euro zone should explode because of one smallish country leaving the club.
Then, it's very different from Cyprus, there aren't many wealthy people with big assets in Greek banks.

Most if not all Euro zone countries have financial problems.

Greece and Portugal already caused trouble to Euro zone, Greece leaving might start a trust crisis or something

When the Spaniards and the Portuguese will see what happens if Greece leaves the Euro, they'll shut their mouth. There won't be any domino effect. Greece will just collapse if it leaves the Euro. Thousands of Greeks will emigrate to other countries, and there will be people starving among those who stay, I mean people dying from hunger, if the country leaves the Euro. Imagine that all civil servants, all policemen, will no longer receive a salary, and that the people who have money in the bank will not be able to withdraw it. Nobody wants that, unless those who don't understand the situation.

The governments can't betray their voters by getting buttfucked by the troika. They either betray their voters and get off the euro, or stay in the euro under merkel's dictatorship generating more and more protests.

It's a fucked up situation no matter what.
974  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin wallet asking for my I.D/Passport on: February 17, 2015, 11:34:03 PM
It's an @coinbase.com address, it seems is not phishing at least.
975  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts? on: February 17, 2015, 11:30:52 PM
Shitcoins.

Maidsafe is the only worth crypto related project worth looking after that isn't Bitcoin, when the current bubble bursts it's an obvious buy.

Care to back that up with some non biased review(s)?

Because Bitcoin is the original one. The critics on the fork thing are legit tho, we need some god damn consensus and get it fixed asap.
976  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ISIS Using Bitcoins :o on: February 17, 2015, 11:29:41 PM

Fuck such hype. This could only get better if it was narrated by Morgan Freeman.
979  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who cares if Bitcoin goes mainstream? on: February 17, 2015, 07:25:12 PM
I still can't wrap my head around the effect of large retailers coming on board (Amazon, Walmart etc)... are the buyers really going to outpace the quick dumps?
Yep they will, amazon and walmart is huge.
980  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if most of the hacking of exchanges is the government? on: February 17, 2015, 07:12:21 PM
