There was but it went down very quickly and the explorer was nothing to do with me.
One is being talked about being developed now.
As you know this will help loads with trades.

More coins means 1 of 2 things.
1) Survival of the fittest, each new coin has to improve on the previous or be different somehow or there is not point, this a a very good thing, proven by nature. 2) Alt-coins in general become so bloated that it becomes a joke.

Rucoin may come back, its just that BTC-E took it on and then threw it away.
That will never help a coin, makes people think it is dead.

This auction is for 10,000 BQC's and will last until 24 hours after that last bid.
I will only accept Bitcoins for this auction and the buyer will have to send the coins first, then I will send the BQC.
The confirmation of coins being sent and received will be done on this thread also.
If this auction is popular then I might make another one.
Happy Bidding.

The problem with the pool that went online at bbqcoin.org was that the pushpull was not configured properly, I am not going to point fingers but someone started working on it, got the bare bones working and then stopped, leaving it unfinished.
I will update the client download page with source code links aswell, just so everyone can be working with the same clients etc.
I will say however that my trust for the clients original source which was updated recently by Cubox has reduced due to that fact that "jokes" have been made on the IRC about attacking BBQcoin under a project called BBQFoil and that Luke-Jr has returned onto the scene.
I am not blaming anyone for anything but I just think that it is fair for everyone to know what could be going on behind the scenes, as trust is a massive thing for me, even more so when hard earned money is concerned.
The forum on bbqcoin.org is moderated by Figroll, who if you don't know, designed the BBQcoin logo to replace the Litecoin one. Gossip and rumours have no place there, as it was and is my intention to have it as a place of information and guidance only.
The trade section was created to get a general consensus of how people feel about the coin and if it does or will have any worth.
If anyone has coding and pool experience and would like to earn a bounty for finishing off the pool that was started at bbqcoin.org, I have all the files, they just need configuring properly including slight cosmetic changes to the front end.
The bounty for making a fully working pool and having that pool connected to pool.bbqcoin.org through either a DNS redirection or on the server directly will get a bounty of 25,000 BQC.

At the moment there are a lot of sell orders for BBQcoin but hardly any buy orders, so how can its worth be calculated.
The worth is normally determined by how much someone actually buys something for, not how much people try to sell it for.
Does anyone know of any confirmed trades involving BQC yet?

Rucoin has got a very nice client with a lot of features but it seemed that was not enough and also having a coin with a name tied to a country probably did not help either.
At the moment for me the most interesting new coin out is Mincoin.
|
|
|
This auction will show the "real" current worth of BBQcoin.
|
|
|
Mincoin is going to be so rare and one of the fastest around.
It's worth every kh/s.

The port is 59332 and it has been from the start.
The pool that was on bbqcoin.org is going to be down indefinitely.
If people don't keep using the same compiled clients and same ports, that this coin is going to die.

The pool on bbqcoin.org has been taken offline for now.
The share difficulty in Pushpool needs changing aswell as cosmetic updates.
I will post further updates on here and on the BBQcoin forum.
As everyone is solo mining at the moment and suddenly with a lot of hashrate, I am sure that would increase the amount of orphans, meaning less accepted blocks.
BBQcoin needs pools before getting put on an exchange too.

The pool at pool.bbqcoin.org should be up and running properly over the next few days. In beta right now.
|
|
|
The backend is being worked on at the moment by myself and D34th. As soon as it is running properly then I will update on here.
Thanks everyone.
|
|
|
This is all being worked on, the site is still beta right now. But having a little user load helps to test aswell.
|
|
|
Due to the higher than normal solo hashrate it is time now for a pool to be open. Thanks to the work of D34TH there is a now a BBQcoin pool at http://pool.bbqcoin.orgIt is still in early days so any problems the please send them to the bbqcoin.org forums and we will get it sorted. D34TH awarded the 25,000 BQC bounty for the first pool which will be paid for by me and will be confirm as received on here. Miner details : pool.bbqcoin.org:8337 Stats updated every two minutes. PPLNS Payout system.

Hi OP, would you be able to add the BBQcoin logo to this from bbqcoin.org please?
Thanks.

Trading section for BBQcoin at the bbqcoin.org forum
I think these "buy" orders need to be a little bit more realistic and with the general crypto market having just had a big shake-up/mini crash, I think that the future worth of any coin right now is debatable.
If people are mining BQC to eventually trade them at some point then setting a ridiculous buy order price will just hinder your efforts instead of helping them.
The worth of a coin has to be proven and cannot be done with random buy orders.
The trade section of the bbqcoin.org forum is going to be revamped and designed to reflect a more in line trading, not to be dictated by me but to keep down the unrealistic orders.

Just so everybody's client are the same are you all downloading it from bbqcoin.org?
Self compiling and downloading other compiles can be what causes problems.
The next updated release will also be posted at this site too, for future reference.

The blockchain does download, you just need to leave the client open for at least 5 mins at the moment to get connections. A pool is the first major development that we need, to get the network hash even higher.
I am offering a 25,000 BQC bounty to the first person to create and run a BBQcoin pool.
If you didn't know, I run bbqcoin.org, which started as an information only site to get people interested in this coin again, a forum has been added aswell with a trade section.
