there are two or three quite good ones such as winamp a little old but still at the top (now poweramp), vlc and musixmatch
Winamp is on android? I don't see it on the google play store, but VLC seems great anyway. I actually already use it on my desktop for playing videos but not music. It's actually very similar in layout to Google Play and even sorts albums by year which is a nice touch. Thanks for the suggestions.

Many reasons:
Because it's fun. Signature campaigns. Some people might not realise it's a troll thread and think it's a genuine query.
Depending on the type of troll it's often-times best to just ignore them but some are more malicious or annoying that others and can be entertaining to either humour them or troll them back, but either way they should be decided on a case by base basis.

Reading through posts it seems there is an off topic reply in every thread.
There are a lot of threads on bitcointalk and I sometimes marvel at how they all get moderated. Anyways, my suggestion is if there can be a link/button on every reply on a thread where users can click to report off topic replies in a thread so it would be easy for moderators to easily find these off topic replies. You mean the Report to moderator button at the left of every post?

Due to an abundance of topics filled with low quality replies, we are banning all topics where the only reasonable reply is insubstantial content. This was already the rule: 1. No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads. ... 3. No pointless or uninteresting threads.
Off topic is a section for any other topics that do not fit into any other sub, however, it is not a subforum for account farmers to lazily spam their way through the ranks and doing so will no longer be tolerated. If you are caught spamming unsubstantial posts just to farm or rank up your account your account(s) will be immediately permabanned without warning. An example of what threads aren't allowed and posts that won't be tolerated: https://archive.is/qqd4BYou will not be banned for making a few one word posts in those sorts of threads, but if all your posts are just spammed in them as quickly as possible it is clear to see what you are doing. Adding a few more words or stretching out your sentences does not magically make your posts constructive either. You can still have as many accounts as you want but you cannot spam from them. Doing so on even one will run the risk of having all your accounts banned. This is the only warning you will get. Note: This rule applies to the entire forum not just off topic so this doesn't mean to say you can now find other subs to spam. If all your posts are short and spammy and it is clear you are only making them for either signature payment or to farm then you will still be banned. Put a bit of effort into your posts and you will be fine.

Was using Google Play for MP3s and it was perfect but they've annoyingly stopped the service now. Not sure why they couldn't let you keep using the music player but looks like I've got to find something else. I don't mind a paid app but only if they allow a trial version first. I'm currently using a free one called Audify but it's slow to boot up and a bit annoying to use in a few ways so just looking for something as much like Google play as possible that has your entire music library at the touch of a button without having to load it up every time.

I didn't remove them but there's a few reports against you there for off topic posts.
Do mods see a warning when they try to moderate WO, or do they need to remember that thread ID 178336 has special rules? Well I don't recall ever seeing any before, but in the handled reports section I see they're marked as [WO] which I don't recall seeing before either and that thread isn't showing up in my Show new replies to your posts either even though I'm pretty sure I must have posted it it at some point before. Maybe that thread is ignored to me or something.

Just reply. Haven't used the quick reply box in years but never thought it was really quicker than just hitting reply.

You can post ref links there, in your profile or signature.

When i ask you if you deleted you say No! Now i think you have deleted, your quote is total pointless.. Votes are private, i search about it before i make the poll
censorship detect I didn't delete it but I do agree with it being trashed.

I don't really know where to type a topic for people to bring up their ideas about it, please can I get a help here?
Well we can't really help you unless you tell us what the proposed thread is actually about because it could belong in any board.

The trashcan is only visible by the Staff. And technically your topic is not deleted, that's why you didn't receive a message. It can be easily restored by a GM or admin, you can contact them for that, but you will need serious arguments to prove that your poll is a useful poll.
I have much respect for Cyrus he’s best mod, admin in my opinion I wish to get a reply, the poll was how many transactions you make per day with options 0, 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5. 5++ It's a pointless thread. Why do you care or need to know how many transactions someone is making? Surely it will fluctuate on a day to day basis anyway. Also, see the sticky:

I didn't handle it but looks like someone reported it as low value.
Thanks for clearing it. But is it really looks like a low value post? I personally wouldn't have acted on the report but that's just me and I can't speak for anyone else.

It wasn't a necrobump: OP bumped the topic 3 days earlier, which is allowed. It also makes sense OP deleted his bump after another post was made (I do that too when I notice it), so to the Mod it looked like a necrobump. If negrobumping would be the reason, it doesn't make sense that posts made after that (and even quoting NotATether) were left alone. Possibly, but I'm only relaying what was reported. Thread doesn't seem old enough to be considered a necrobump to be honest. The full report was "necro bumping - spam - really worthless post". Can't comment on whether it's spam or not but maybe the reporter or person who handled it can chime in on their reasons.

You resigned? Recently? Noticed your mod tag had gone a while ago but saw you were still getting mod payments.
How can someone who resigned still getting paid? Well his name still hanging there tells alot about the system Looks like he's just addressed that. If someone wants to be a mod just keep reporting and if theymos feels you'd be beneficial on staff he may ask you at some point.
You are telling the whole world that a newbie could actually do the report job and get picked to moderate a board? I'm not impressed sorry. No, that's not what I'm saying. I've never seen anyone made a mod as a newbie other than the people who were hired for other business here but they're only really mods in name and don't seem to moderate much if anything at all. There are numerous high-ranked users with multiple thousands of reports and I'm sure a newbie would not be chosen over them if a new mod was needed but its all about demand.

Global mods (hilarious, mprep and Mr. Big) have been moderating Beginners&Help for quite a long time since when Mitchell [...] was removed as moderators. [...] Just to be clear, I one sidedly resigned. I was not removed or forced to resign. There is a big difference between the two. You resigned? Recently? Noticed your mod tag had gone a while ago but saw you were still getting mod payments.

Global mods can handle anything in any boards. Some mods like users just disappear. Inactive mods' names probably should be removed from the subs they're allocated to though. If someone wants to be a mod just keep reporting and if theymos feels you'd be beneficial on staff he may ask you at some point.
