I was trolling in the trollbox last night (my nick there is HM_The_King). One guy wrote: "Nobody cares what you think about XMR". I felt good ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) Seems that we have a new generation. That means: 1. More new people...obviously 2. Higher prices... 3. More attention for monero

Best quote: There are however apprehensions about the current user base of Monero, which is still small. In such a scenario, huge transactions on the network can’t be mixed with other similar sized transactions, and can be easily detected. Oh, so your uber-currency has problems? No shit. I guess the claims of it being the "replacement" for the darknet is just as valid. What an idiotic article. They couldn't even be bothered to correct an obvious mistake - "...has announced its support for Monero effective September 20136." Damn, users will have to wait 18,120 years? Well damn, better set the calendar alert! That quote forgets that transferring large amounts in smaller more common amounts still allows transferring large amounts just as private. Strawman argument there.

Been watching these as well, looking at the OP it states either .62btc or 220xmr, that needs to be revised right smoothie?
According to current preev rate, .62 BTC = 359.00 USD = ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fec2-54-163-128-146.compute-1.amazonaws.com%2Fxmr%2Findex.php%2F%3FVALUE%3D359%26CUR%3DUSD%26COLOR%3D000000%26SIZE%3D12%26FONT%3Dcalibri&t=663&c=iDI1DWA0_aFKMA) Amazing difference what a few days will make! ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Amazing indeed what a few key changes can do to a market. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Yes. Just PM me if you want an accurate price. Market is moving too much.

As for price speculation, even though those with skills far beyond mine are predicting significantly lower prices on the horizon I just don't see how that can happen. Too much new interest and the dnms will not be a bust.
In case you are talking about rpietila recent posts, which I really enjoy btw, he is clearly talking his book. Clearly. Probably putting up walls to help keep the price down while buying on the dips. Ladders setup below...Now he is the only one who can for sure say if my guess is right. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Where do we need to draw the lines now for Aminorex's marketmaking?
I'd like 1. a BitSquare.io node 2. a market-making bot to (safely/dispassionately) manage a few 1000 XMR worth of buys and sells on the BitSquare I believe that's the path towards fixing the potential single point of failure Polo dependency. I certainly hope that the catalyst to get us to such a point will not be a huge theft/hack at polo.

I have a hunch that they will release the gui wallet sometime before Monero trading on AlphaBay begins on Sept 1.
Soon..
Well that might be icing on the cake as far as price rise. Looking forward to the GUI myself. Not happening before Sep 1. I will ride the NYC subway naked if the GUI is released before Sept 1st LOL quoted for posterity.

XMR was pumped and dumped when the news about Alphabay and Oasis came out. There were traders who took advantage to make a quick profit. They knew many people would be desperate to get in. The same was happening in Lisk when it started to rise from the lows. A whale was accumulating the coin and then the traders wanted to take advantage by pumping the price. But the whale was very clever and he created a big sell wall that totaled 2000 BTC. Now the traders are staying away and the whale is happily picking up his coins. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I see these generalizations made so much when using "pump and dump". Where is the dump? How do you know the whale or larger holders actually dumped and not an accumulation of smaller monero holders? Speculation, exactly, you can't tell. your comment holds 0 proof of anything but perhaps a tinge of envy.

We should make XMR party somewhere if it goes to $50.
Some options:
1. St Kitts Island
2. Ibiza
3. Amsterdam
4. Buy our own XMR island - teach esperanto to peoples - make for big XMR party with biggest stars in Music, - we can hire them - Bono - Wiz Khalifa - Dr Dre ....XMR will get nice press for this as well
Also pick one small poor village and make people life better!
One step at a time. Let's get back to $5 first before we plan for $50 parties. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

What I find remarkable is that we're still handling 12k+ in volume on Poloniex. More than any other coin. And I suspect that this might increase as we come to (and pass) Sept 1st. We might be going to Plaid ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fmedia-cache-ec0.pinimg.com%2F736x%2F7e%2F4c%2F0b%2F7e4c0bd5fc9419317fc59cb21b1c67f5.jpg&t=663&c=K4nYZ4T01uMbKA) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FsWjC1Iw.jpg&t=663&c=N4zklFeVJxcKtg)

Alpha Bay wrote this on reddit
"We expect this to cause a spike in the price, so if you are an investor, now is the time to purchase Monero."
This is an obvious clue this thing is going to be manipulated either way, no doubt the two dark markets colluded together and bought up a bunch of Monero beforehand.
Definitely. Why do you think it was ramping since May? The rule is to buy the rumor, and sell the news. But eventually the fundamentals will dominate. If XMR denominates 10% of the AlphaBay transactions in December, the price should be at least $25 by New Year's Day. How did you come to that conclusion that 10% implies $25?

You can't fastmine almost 13 million coins in the first 2 years and not expect volatility and big bubbles to form. Monero is proving to be very volatile due to its mining emission curve and lack of masternodes.
Aha aha ahahahaha, are you high? A fast-/pre-/insta-/whatevermine looks like this: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fdashpay.atlassian.net%2Fwiki%2Fdownload%2Fattachments%2F19759164%2FDarkcoin%2520distribution%2520chart.png%3Fversion%3D1%26modificationDate%3D1451132881689%26api%3Dv2&t=663&c=QegShy84RxdbQA) 10 - 15% of the total supply in the first 24 hours... best regards, Yes dash had what is commonly referred to as a accedental instamine as opposed to some coins that have a planned instamine where lots of coins are mined in a very short period of time. These are usually pos coins and they mine all the pow coins in a few days to a few weeks or more. Monero is a good example of a fastmine but it could be considered a instamine too, which I don't think applies but who's to say. 2.25 years = insta? lol please send me what you are smoking.
