We didn't even have internet by this time, about the early 1990's, which was installed later in 1994 at my parent's house, when i was already operating Cubase Audio (4 Stereo tracks!) via mouse and keyboard in Windows, on Intel 486 or early pentium (75 or 90 mHz) CPU. 30 years...

I used Cubase on the Atari. MIDI only though... a different era.

Same here, but in the Studio where i was working at that time, they were using Emagic. For mastering we used Pro Tools on a Mac.
My first computer was a C64-II, however, this was where i was first encountering desktop environments (GEOS) long before windows, but i didn't know about Macintosh by that time at all. I collected punch cards in my pre school age, and when i went to school later, i was visiting my dad after school in the datacenter, where i got embraced by the sound of IBM's mainframe computers while staring at walls full of tape machines spinning back and forth, back and forth...

First PC was a sinclair ZX81 (If you could call it a PC}. Ridiculous membrane keyboard and 1K RAM. You could get a 16K RAM expansion pack which plugged in the back but would often glitch when you pressed too hard on the keyboard.
For recording your programs you needed to use a conventional cassette recorder and tune the volume to the programs you would write. Awful in so many ways but was a lot of fun for a while.

AFAIR these things where called "home computers" back then? IBM has born the "Personal Computer" term later, if i'm not wrong.
In this era it was Commodore 64 vs. Schneider CPC in my area. We were three kids with computers at age 12, in one classroom. Extremely lucky, only one older kid with a computer two grades higher.

You are still early… how early? Imagine you adopting internet during 1990-2000.

I don't think many of us here have to imagine it.

I can remember operating microsoft word in DOS, which looked quite similar on a monochrome (non-flat) screen.
And by remembering this, i also recalled Eliza, my first commandline encounter of AI (oldschool insiders may lol here).

JUST IN: 🇺🇸 Eight US Congressmen and one Senator urge President Biden to not veto bill that would allow highly regulated financial firms to custody #Bitcoin    and crypto.
Here

Why are all those signatures on this "document" in different graphical resolutions?
i'm not saying it's a fake, but it's likely a fake  Tongue
#checkyoursources

You may be right. Or they never signed an actual paper, but stayed in electronic form (save the planet, etc.) by using image files as signatures (of varying resolutions, depending on how tech-savvy each one is).

Actually this is quite a poor montage:

1. These are two separate files, the text (top) is a PNG, while the "signature" part is a JPG file.
2. Look at the signatures closely. Lummis' (EDIT: and Flood's) Signature is(are) layered in front of the black horizontal line, while the other signatures are being behind.
3. As said before, resolutions are wildly random. (EDIT: I suggest there are at least some standards for digital "signatures"*)

Also, there is no official number, no date or anything referenceable on this "letter", facts that were also questioned in the original tweet.

#whatdoiknow?  Wink

*because real digital signatures are a different thing anyway.

EDIT2: Biden already vetoed that bill. https://x.com/BitcoinMagazine/status/1796676018284953832
BUT... The text in the reply in the name of Joe is in a different color than the original bill.
I can't believe official documents of the USA are so poorly standardized, that's all.
Oh yeah, and twitter is emerging more and more into a fake-news portal.

Unpopular opinion: Bitcoin is the most appreciated crypto, because simplicity silences anything noisy over the long term.

I disagree, in particular with the implementation of Ordinals. Bitcoin has scaling problems, which layer-2 protocols like Lightning try to solve, but Ordinals are working against these solutions, because they are clogging the main-chain blocks.

EDIT: I felt the need to add that i only criticized the simplicity aspect of your (unpopular) opinion. Bitcoin is working and survived hundreds of deaths, the only logical conclusion is that it's the most trusted, and thus most appreciated crypto.

I think what ultimately makes Bitcoin more valuable than others is that it is widely considered to be the most fairly distributed cryptocurrency and that is something that will likely make it unique forever. Obviously there is better tech out there.

Which "better"?
There is no "better" without context (usecase).

Trump is playing emotions, mostly. There's little to no substance at the factual level, mostly based on interviews/debates i have seen with him.
I don't take Rep. publicity into account, where he is 100% about triggering emotions, which is quite common (sadly, it's like some sort of inverse standup comedy).

So, when you would rely so much on emotional messaging and visions like Donald, other than responding to facts and revealing actual plans how to solve actual problems, you are likely pretty desperate.
Who would trust a desperate, instable personality like Trump to respectfully run a country?
Hint: It's mostly desperate minds. But desperate people tend to add to the problems and/or dismiss more responsible actions, but are highly emotionally sensitive. Also, instincts of self preservation slowly start taking over with growing desperation, like a "It's either me or them" kind of mindset.

My short verdict: If Trump suddenly changes his mind in questions of Bitcoin (and you-know-what), you can't trust him even a little fuck that he doesn't do it on purpose.
The fact that the USA are almost only driven by two parties, suggests that a Rep will almost always cowardly counterargument a Dem's argument (and also vice versa), makes this move no less suspicious to me.

And he and his team exactly know what they want to accomplish with this statement.
What do you think that would be?
Only more money, or also more stir in political discussions, for the purpose of... what exactly? More debates to fire the old emotional triggers another time at the crowd on air and in headlines, or only the "bad news is good news" approach?

EDIT: I had to think about Bill Gates following the post above, because he made MS-DOS/Windows a success. Not because it was even just a little superior to the competition (*geekLOL* because it wasn't, by far) - but because Bill's desparation to sell it to IBM for a Dollar per install. Let that sink in a bit.

Bitcoin is king with great potentials and nobody gives a fuck about shitcoins here. I don't know why @cryptofrka is talking about shitcoin that has no market direction, when this thread is a bitcoin wall observer thread. It is not everything that glitters that is gold. Shitcoin is gambling.

What is this, society of the indoctrinated?
Maybe because the thread is about Bitcoin price movement? Which is currently being dragged upwards because of ETH ETF probability increasing?

Keeping an open mind helps, you know?

Bitcoin wasn't ever dragged upwards. It is and was the leading cryptocurrency at all times.
In your wording: So it was ETH that was "dragged down" before by Bitcoin from 0.08 to 0.045 within the last couple of years, no?
Now ETH should be responsible for BTC pumps?

I doubt so.

Judging by "everything"...I dig 150K by the EOY.
When countries would join the FOMO?

By rumors, countries are already secretly buying. One country respectively. Not El Salvador.

EDIT: Finally, a relaxed evening AND a pump.

Apropos, update on the "cornabis":

Thanks everyone for your help and advice!
The leaves are no longer yellow! The leaves have now become invisible. Because somebody stole both plants.

Two immature plants?
Then it was either a moron or a teenager (or both).

Judge has just published his ruling in the COPA vs Craig Wright lawsuit that Craig is not Satoshi Nakamoto.

Massive victory for Bitcoin.

We are so back! (stopping Chartbuddy)

Only one small outflow in the whole week: GBTC on Tuesday was barely noticed amidst all the inflows.
Is there a thread to discuss ETF on this forum, is this the only place? Looks like a bit empty.

Grayscale clearly loser in the Spot ETF game. It was a matter of time, and surprisingly little, to see ETF inflows catch up again.
I am still watching the charts and data occasionally from the sideline a few times a day.

OT:
Whoever recommended Zoneminder to me on this thread, a few weeks ago, i have to thank you again.
My daughter had a urgent surgery yesterday, and thanks to Zoneminder (and a little programming magic) she can watch a livestream of our horses from the hospital on mum's smartphone, where the two will be staying for some days. Surgery went well, and thanks to my instincts and medical/health knowledge we went to the doctor yesterday asap, who sent us straight to the hospital.

Still OT:
By the way, the speed of modern CT/MRI scanners blew me away. The whole CT scan of 2 inches of a human head didn't even take a minute to complete. The resolution of the images was awesome, with very good contrast and signal/noise ratio compared to what i had in the past.

It's going to be Ramen au gratin tonight, boys!

drumsticks 🍗 and riced cauliflower with fresh apples 🍎 for desert.

That looks like a sweet, juicy plum.

Yeah, i enjoyed it too. You rarely see Allskycam photos of such events. It's a smart little fisheye lens on top of a raspberry pi camera and captures the sky all night long. I plan to set one on top of my roof, but the project has a larger realisation timeframe.

Whoa  Shocked
I really start to miss my "boring" days, when i was able to check BTC price every other minute.
Nowadys i come home - or come to rest at home - presenting half a day of price action to myself.
Like today.
Sure, it's exciting to see BTC has grown a couple of thousand dollars in fiat value, but it's certainly more exciting to watch the building of these candles in real time.
However, i'm not after entertainment so much, because i usually entertain myself, but i'm missing the constant wall observing on huge moves, and i missed quire a lot of them lately.
All my fiat powder is already fired away (for now), so it's even more exciting to watch.
I need to step back on activity  Roll Eyes

For the grower experts among us:

I need a little help.
Yellowing leaves? What am I doing wrong?

Soil is 6.5 PH.

Also the right one seems to be flowering already? Since they are both "mystery strains", I guess this one is autoflower?
yellow could be too much nitrogen

add some lime
I doubt
I believe the reverse is the case. Its lacking Nitrogen and like he said the soil acidity is neutral so I guess lime wouldn't help much.
I barely know about plants though, but with the little I could gather from trying to grow a flower called sun flower in my country.
Most of the time yellowing comes as result of poor watering
Either you over watering or under watering.
The leave getting yellow could be cause by various reasons
Sun, even weather could be a cause
So it would help if you can explain what you believe you doing right
Other than maintaining the acidity.
The leave when they fall off can help strengthen the soil though.

I second that. Yellowing is usually lack of Nitrogen (aka. "Chlorosis").
Watering could be an issue, it looks like you are growing in a pot with closed bottom. There ought to be holes, so that excess water can get out (into a small plate below), otherwise the roots can start fouling, which are responsible to deliver nutrients to the leaves. This could be the root cause for lack Nitrogen, though.
Since the lower leaves get less nutrients delivered, compared to the top, any lack of such would likely show first at the lower branches.

You'd best advised to grow in a 50/50 mix of earth and pebbles, this way the soil is less dense, which is better for cannabis. You should not undersize the pots. Large pots are more forgiving and supply the needed space to grow roots, which build the foundation for the overall size and grow of the plant.  It's also generally Phosphor-hungry. Get a dedicated (bio) fertilizer (including testing strips) and stop applying it 14 days before croppng. Maybe it doesn't help this one in this state, but the next one should grow fine. Don't over-water, look for a sunny but cool place. I think the windows might reflect too much heat.

The plant flowers too early, as mentioned already. How many daylight hours? Should be over 14h, around 12h and below the plant will flower.
Unless it's one of those auto-flowering strains (i personally never had a good one of these, judeged by taste smell and effectiveness).

EDIT: Sorry for my sketchy language, i can only blame the Sensi Star  Cool

I wouldn't say that Cannabis is very easy to grow. On the other hand it's giving back a lot of clever effort to the grower. It's like an investment, you want to have good return  Grin

EDIT 2: OT, but something which rarely happens in my life happened today: I have no more active projects to dig into. All active ones are finished. There are just a few i have not started yet. IDK but this feels so strange. Can anybody relate to this?

I looked at the sky around midnight, but unfortunately I didn't see anything, luckily the weather is good and there are almost no clouds, so maybe I'll have more luck tonight. In any case, very nice photos Smiley

In my area there were clouds in the evening, and i was so dog tired to fall asleep before 10pm, i didn't even notice the cloudy sky slowly cleared up.
Saw some photos from neighbors today. I was a little embarassed, because i also finished my custom DIY build of an autofocus motor drive for one of my telescopes, which i thought i could not test yesterday because of cloudy skies.
I'm also set for tonight, wish me luck  Cool

This Sunday's haikus rhyme!
Enjoy!

ChartBuddy lost touch,
But soon came back with a punch,
Screaming Edvard Munch!

CZ got jail time.
Roger Ver charged with tax crime.
I say: "This is fine!"

Ramen from now on...
Michelin restos are gone!
Calm before the storm?

Roubini and Schiff,
They play tough and they act stiff.
Delayed disbelief!

Touch rhymes with punch? Time with fine? Gone with storm? Stiff with disbelief.

C'mon. At least in limericks contrived rhymes are imaginative:

There was a young lady from Exeter
So lovely that men craned their necks at her.
One was even so brave
As to take out and wave
The distinguishing mark of his sex at her.

A pansy who came from Khartoum
Took a lesbian up to his room.
They argued all night
Over who had the right
To do what and with which and to whom.

I'm asking myself
have you ever been to thee
Rhyme academy?

Remembering days
when Rap was great in most ways
and me mostly dazed

Rap and Haiku join
among the talks on Bitcoin
Feels strong in my groin

I could go on - for
ever till i'm gone - never
mind if i was wrong

cointalk all along
i would not make this a song
only having fun

#haikurhyme
