That's a little shortsighted, if i understood that correctly.
Sure, the Queen did not have to work for money all of her life, but she had to sacrifice the freedom of being herself, carrying out her "free will", living life as she would have pleased.
Instead, she had to obey to the rules of the house of royals, from children's age to death. Can you imagine a life in which you aren't allowed to dress, speak, act as you like, at least in the public? Being the queen must be kind of hell, on a second thought.

I've seen a maneuver like you described recently in italy near an US base, the F16 was doing something i remember as "Herbst Turn", shooting on the way down in the opposite direction it flew on, at low altitude. (lights instead of real cannon)

So, yeah, works perfect in itself, societies fail to adjust. I'm lucky so far, with the exception of dry/contaminated wells.
