1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seed phrase secure storage ideas, like multisig? on: Today at 09:48:36 PM
Hello,
from various information sources, by summary concludes the current seed phrase storage as best:
2 of 3 multisig.

My understanding is a seed phrase will have 24 words.
These 24 words are then engraved onto 3 stainless steel hexkeys, so when 2 of these hex keys are brought together, the 24 words are revealed.
Then the user needs to enter the passphrase to fully recover the wallet.

So, is there a cold wallet with the software to make the multisig, as I don't know how to 'split' the 24 words into the 3 engraved stainless steel hexkeys?
You are obviously talking about a 2 of 3 Shamir's Secret Sharing Scheme for splitting your seed instead of a 2 of 3 multisig wallet. With a multisig wallet you won't need to reveal a common seed. Wallets belonging to the scheme will just need to "cosign" transactions, and being enough cosigners to reach the defined threshold.
With a SSSS you will just split your actual seed into several shares, and transactions won't need to be cosigned for being valid.
You can use Trezor wallets for that, the iancoleman tool https://iancoleman.io/slip39/ or some softwares https://github.com/satoshilabs/slips/blob/master/slip-0039.md#other-implementations
Electrum accepts slip39 seeds but is not able to generate them unfortunately.
2  Economy / Economics / Re: The End of Credit/Debit Cards on: Today at 09:28:16 PM
They will still exist in Europe at least because European citizens will be allowed to only hold a small amount of digital Euro unfortunately. Few thousands of Euros at most. So it will be limited. On top of that if your smartphone is out of order you will need a classic plastic card to pay things instead.
3  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gamblex - Bitcoin Entropy Betting System on: Today at 08:49:46 PM
Stompix is right if the player 2 uses some advanced wallets like Electrum he will be able to know its transaction ID before broadcasting it. How do you manage that @OP? In addition, despite 3 pages of "comments" nobody has still send one satoshi to the game address, however 2 bets with the same stake should be placed to get an outcome. It means first players could wait days, weeks or even months before having a chance to get back their stake along with their winnings.

6  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Best way to protect your Bitcoins wallet on: May 23, 2024, 09:59:33 PM
1, the best way to secure your keys is to combine cold and hot wallet uses so that only the cryptocurrency you need at the moment is in the connected wallet.
It's true but unfortunately Bitcoin on-chain transactions are very expensive, and there is no way to use Lightning Network with a cold wallet. So it's hard to only hold small BTC amounts into a hot wallet if you need to spend BTC frequently, otherwise you will lose a substantial part of your funds in transaction fees payments.

8  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is the Worst online Casino you've played on so far? on: May 23, 2024, 09:36:10 PM
Shocked

Ser, why? It would be preposterous to accuse that a casino that has a proven track-record would hold some sort of prejudice towards where someone comes from, no?
Their so-called proven track-record is not good at all actually, they are not professional, neither customer friendly when players manage to win more than what they've lost. Which is not fair for a casino. They use KYC as an excuse to keep their funds the longer they can, indefinitely if possible and not only for third world countries customers.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Gambling vs Sport Betting, Lets Discuss on: May 23, 2024, 08:49:56 PM
It's not the same thing, because casino games produce instant results, while for sport bets you need to wait even for live bets. So sport bettors are less likely to make mistakes, and to chase their losses.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I don't hold BTC for ATH on: May 23, 2024, 08:20:48 PM
That's a good mindset, the spirit of the white paper written by Satoshi Nakamoto was to create a decentralized digital currency. That's why he called Bitcoin A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System. I don't think he wanted to create a deflationary currency appreciating in value indefinitely, even after reaching its climax of adoption, otherwise he would implement a burning mechanism.

Well, that "few" trial and error is anywhere between 1 and 2047 attempts, I'd say. So .. hmm...
[...]
Yes if you have a terrible bad luck, you could fail dozens or hundreds times theoretically. But Electrum seeds are on 12 words, it's 128bits for BIP39 seed.
128 mod 11 = 7 The last word is 7bits long (the 4bits remaining are used for the checksum).
27 = 128 So 128 words should work.
2048/128 = 16 It's 1/16th of the list.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 21, 2024, 09:22:46 PM
That is a very brave prediction of yours hehehe. I will also offer a brave prediction. I predict Islam Makhachev will win against Dustin Poirier very much similar to Khabib and this will be with a rear naked choke hehe.

In any case, I wish @Saint-loup will not see this prediction because he might again challenge me to bet against him and I will again be forced to be brave heheheheeh. This might become another donation for him. However, yes it will be a rear naked choke.
You've called me?  Grin  Last time you've bet against me, you didn't lose, you didn't win either, nobody won unfortunately actually IIRC.
How much do you want to bet?  Which odds do you propose?

Documents don't need to be written in English actually they just need to be written in "Latin international format" according to their own official requirements. They don't need to be printed either, because they officially accept "original photo or a PDF file of the documents, screenshots will not be accepted"
If they don't respect that, they are scamming the customer, there is no other way to describe what they would do.

It's not useful to lock your 11pages thread IMO Willowbitcoin, because when I see people from the gambling section recommanding this casino to a high roller looking to wager $10k stakes, I think they urgently need to be more informed about its actual practices.
BTW have you asked them why they demand proof of payments of your utility bills while it's not mentioned anywhere? And why it must be the 3 last months while they claim to accept documents up to 6months old?

Utility bill ( electricity, water, gas or rent bill )

documents must be issued within the last 6 months

Daily /weekly ?
What Are the risks and rewards what about NEXO it's safe enough to stake or earn yields there ?
any good places for usdt and usdc to earn what are the roi daily weekly ?
In otherwords Im looking ways to put my money on work.
you should find out about the story of some custodial lending platform like Celsius or Blockfi before considering investing into one of them. They go bankrupt and their customers lost all their funds till now. It's better to look for decentralized liquidity pool of Defi platforms or GambleFi ones IMO. How much money in USDT/USDC would you like to invest first? Usually earnings are not guaranteed neither stable, but if you prefer centralized platforms I would look for solid and reputed exchanges like Binance Blockchain.com or Kraken. They are less likely to close their doors than lending platforms IMO.

20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Android Tutorial] PGP Signature - Encrypt/Decrypt message on: May 19, 2024, 03:34:05 PM
It's a very interesting topic thank you very much for that, but IMO must people looking for PGP apps on Android are doing it in order to find a way to check Electrum apk signatures right on their smartphones (and without using a shell) because nobody can fully trust Google Play Store (it can be hacked one day) and it doesn't always offer the last version released of the Electrum app. So are you able to check Electrum apk signature with Openkeychain, and if yes how are you doing that please?
