301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What about RSK? on: March 05, 2021, 09:23:45 PM
RSK (formerly known as Rootstock) is a new smart contract platform which act as a sidechain to the main Bitcoin blockchain. It allows you to essentially enjoy all of the benefits of Ethereum using solely your Bitcoin holdings. It's one of the most undervalued and underestimated smart contract platforms on the market today. While platforms like Polkadot, Cardano, and Binance Smart Chain are in the spotlight, their level of security, reliability, and censorship-resistance is not as comparable as Ethereum or even Bitcoin. Since RSK is a sidechain of Bitcoin, it can obtain the same level of security as its parent chain. This translates into safe and reliable dApps that are virtually immutable. Being directly compatible with the EVM, RSK should've been among the top ranks in market cap today.

What could've happened with RSK? Do you think the team needs to ramp up marketing/promotion efforts to increase awareness for the project? Will RSK be able to compete with existing smart contract platforms in the crypto/Blockchain space? Will it succeed or fail in the long run? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. 302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Centralized exchanges could manipulate PoS coins on: March 05, 2021, 08:15:04 PM
PoS may come with its benefits, but it's not the best way to achieve decentralization. We've witnessed the events of the STEEM hardfork when a big exchange like Binance supported one version of the Blockchain with user's funds. Even though most of the STEEM community was against the hard fork (as it stripped some witnesses' access to their funds), it was eventually accepted by the network with Binance dominating a large portion of the coin's supply. The DPoS model of STEEM gave Binance too much power by staking user's funds. This is dangerous for PoS coins as a whole, as centralized exchanges could have the final word in approving/disapproving network upgrades, freezing accounts, etc. Imagine something like this happening to ETH once it becomes a full-fledged PoS cryptocurrency. It would be a complete disaster!

What are your thoughts? Huh
303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The World Without Bitcoin on: March 05, 2021, 05:55:16 PM
Have you ever thought what would the world be without Bitcoin? Imagine if the cryptocurrency was never invented and we'd still be living with Fiat (paper money and credit/debit cards). People would be subject to banks' desires without a chance for freedom. A cashless society would be only a dream, without innovations in the FinTech space. Gold would still be an option, but not everyone will be able to access it. The unbanked people will be forced to deal with banks in order to participate in the mainstream economy. A lot of challenges and hurdles would arise without a decentralized form of currency for the enjoyment of all.

What do you think the world will be today without Bitcoin? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Which coins are undervalued right now? on: March 05, 2021, 05:45:31 PM
I'm looking for undervalued coins on the market with potential to become something big in the future. One of the undervalued coins I've found is Bitcore. It's like an upgraded version of Bitcoin with SegWit, a 10MB blocksize, a GPU-friendly PoW algo, and a faster block time. The coin launched before BCH hard forked out of the original Bitcoin blockchain. Yet, it's worth cents (in terms of USD) on the market. Considering its technical aspects, I believe BTX should be worth around $100 per coin. I've recently bought some BTX coins, and I'm looking for other undervalued options to expand my portfolio.

If you happen to know of any undervalued coins that are a good long-term investment, please let me know. There could be many hidden gems out there on the market waiting to blossom someday. Once they get noticed by investors and traders, their prices will never be the same. Any help, suggestions, or recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Regulating Decentralized Exchanges: Is it possible? on: March 05, 2021, 05:35:26 PM
Some time ago, the US SEC held EtherDelta's founder accountable for the listing of unregistered securities on the platform. This was surprising considering that the exchange itself is decentralized living on a network outside the control of a single entity. Everything was governed by smart contracts on the Blockchain in a fully-autonomous manner. Yet, the government agency decided to prosecute the creator of the DEX itself. This could be a serious issue for other DEXs if governments decide to crackdown on the industry.

The real issue would be finding the creator of a DEX whose identity is anonymous on the Internet. It would be impossible to enforce regulations on decentralized exchanges this way. Once the government finds that its efforts are in vain, it could deem smart contract platforms such as Ethereum and Cardano "illegal".

What are the implications of regulating decentralized exchanges? Do you think it's possible to enforce regulations on them? Can DEXs remain decentralized enough to go above the law? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Staking ETH: Is it worth it? on: February 25, 2021, 11:56:04 PM
Getting 32 ETH to participate in staking isn't easy. At current market prices, not everyone will be able to become a validator to help secure the ETH blockchain. Of course, you can participate in staking with less than 32 ETH by making a deposit on a staking pool. But this involves trusting a third party, which is something crypto/Blockchain tech was meant to avoid in the first place.

As far as rewards are concerned, it's yet to be determined the annual returns you'll get when staking 32 ETH. There are other coins on the market with high stake rates of 20% APR and above. Taking this into account, I'm starting to wonder: Is it worth staking ETH? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / PancakeSwap vs Uniswap on: February 25, 2021, 11:31:17 PM
Momentum is rising for AMMs in the crypto/Blockchain space. Uniswap has been one of the first (if not the first) AMMs to introduce the concept of decentralized swaps. It's been widely successful with liquidity rising at a fast pace. Yet, the high fees and slow transaction confirmation times on Ethereum are forcing people to look for other options. One of those options is PancakeSwap. This new AMM lives on Binance Smart Chain, allowing it to benefit from the blockchain's ultra-low fees and blazing-fast transaction confirmation times. If ETH doesn't scale fast, Uniswap could lose a considerable amount of users as they flock into PancakeSwap. Of course, Uniswap is much more decentralized than PancakeSwap. But most people don't care about this, as they usually "follow the money".

Thoughts? Huh
308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What's up with Binance Coin? on: February 25, 2021, 10:08:20 PM
BNB rose all the way to the moon becoming the third-largest cryptocurrency by market cap. It's now valued at over $230 per coin, becoming one of the most valuable smart contract platforms in the world after Ethereum. While BNB doesn't come nowhere near close as Ethereum in terms of decentralization, and censorship-resistance, it works great for "De-Fi" with its ultra-low fees and blazing-fast transaction confirmation times.

I'm wondering what could've lead Binance Coin towards new heights within such a short amount of time? Does the "De-Fi" hype have to do anything about this? Do you think BNB's current prices are sustainable or not? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Uniswap Token to $50? on: February 25, 2021, 10:00:38 PM
I've seen somewhere that Uniswap V3 will be launched sometime this year. The code is already available on GitHub. Based on what I've read online, the new Uniswap iteration will make use of off-chain solutions in order to deal with high fees and slow transaction confirmation times. This will make trades faster and cheaper than ever before. I'm starting to wonder the impact of "UNI" token's price as the new Uniswap V3 platform becomes extremely popular in the mainstream world.

Do you think the Uniswap token will reach $50 soon? If not why? What is your prediction for UNI's price after the launch of V3? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley
310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Will the Lightning Network replace on-chain transactions sometime in the future? on: February 25, 2021, 09:38:03 PM
I'm aware that the Lightning Network's mainstream adoption is still low these days. But as on-chain fees increase towards new heights, people will look for other options. They'd either choose an altcoin, or the Lightning Network in order to avoid high fees and slow transaction confirmation times.

If adoption for the Lightning Network goes all the way to the moon, do you think there's a possibility it could replace on-chain transactions? Of course, that is excluding on-chain transactions to open/close a channel on the Lightning Network. I think that miners will be doomed if something like this happens.

What are thoughts? Huh
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Is Dogecoin overpriced? on: February 12, 2021, 07:53:48 PM
I'm surprised to see an abandoned coin like Dogecoin surging in price like crazy. People are overestimating Dogecoin without realizing that it was never meant to be taken seriously. The huge supply of DOGE in circulation, along with abandoned development and innovation, tells me that it should be less valuable than what it is right now (please correct me if I'm wrong).

What are your thoughts? Do you think Dogecoin is overpriced? If not, why? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / What happened with Dogecoin faucets? on: February 12, 2021, 06:23:03 PM
I remember the day when Dogecoin faucets like FreeDoge.co.in and MoonDogeco.in offered free coins for anyone starting into crypto. Before the Dogecoin craze, I've used to claim free coins every once in a while. But it seems those days are over as the aforementioned faucets have closed up shop. I've been looking for other DOGE faucets, but they're all dead.

Do you know what could've happened? Is the era of faucets over? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Dogecoin "pumped", will Garlicoin be next? on: February 12, 2021, 05:50:41 PM
The Dogecoin "frenzy" continues thanks to Elon Musk's positive comments about it. What once started as a "joke", is now being taken seriously by people in the mainstream world. Those who got into Dogecoin before the GameStop craze, made a lot of money by now. DOGE now sits within the $0.07 - $0.08 price range on the market. If the hype persists, we could see higher gains in price for the "meme" coin.

All of this makes me wonder, will Garlicoin be next? After all, GRLC is a "joke" just like Dogecoin is today. Its creation was truly inspired by Dogecoin itself. Who knows if Garlicoin becomes worth $0.10 in the not-so-distant future? In this strange and bizarre world of crypto, anything could happen.

Thoughts? Huh
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Will game companies adopt NFTs in the future? on: February 12, 2021, 05:41:00 PM
Ethereum is rising in popularity at a very fast pace. It seems to me that NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) will gain traction faster than you could ever imagine. With Tesla joining the crypto/Blockchain train, it shouldn't be long enough before other companies do the same. Now, imagine if prominent game companies join the smart contracts revolution? Then it would be a huge boost for ETH's adoption in the mainstream world. Launching attractive in-game items that serve as NFTs will certainly bring the attention of gamers worldwide.

Do you think that game companies will adopt NFTs in the future? If not, why? Will Ethereum remain the go-to platform for NFTs? Or will another platform dominate the NFT industry? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Do you think Elon Musk is a Dogecoin shill? on: February 12, 2021, 05:30:22 PM
Elon Musk's praise towards Dogecoin, has made the "meme" coin soar towards new heights. He continues to spread positive comments about it, resulting in increased interest from people in the mainstream world. Yet, it seems to me that Mr. Musk doesn't know much about Dogecoin. The cryptocurrency was never meant to be taken seriously with a high inflation model and its track record of abandoned development. It could be that Elon Musk is "shilling" Dogecoin in order to fill his pockets with money. If he invested before the craze, he would've made a lot of money by now. It's yet to be seen what his true intentions are.

What are your thoughts about Mr. Musk's reactions towards Dogecoin? Is he a "shill" or not? What will be the outcome of Dogecoin's price after the hype comes to an end? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Polkadot or Binance Smart Chain? on: January 29, 2021, 12:38:56 PM
There's been a lot of hype surrounding Polkadot these days. The alternative smart contract platform is definitely faster and cheaper to use than Ethereum itself. It's already within the top ranks in market cap. Yet, people have forgotten about Binance Smart Chain these days. This smart contract platform is as cheap and fast as Polkadot (someone correct me if I'm wrong), serving as a great alternative to the Ethereum blockchain. What these platforms lack is a solid number of dApps to overcome Ethereum. There doesn't seem to be any indication that developers are going to build new and exciting dApps on both chains. As long as Ethereum has the most dApps and tokens, its rivals won't be able to stand a chance against it.

Now the question is, which of the aforementioned platforms is better? AFAIK, Binance Smart Chain (powered by BNB) has a greater level of centralization than Polkadot itself. This should make the latter platform a much better choice for everyday people. Still, there's potential for BNB as it could attract businesses and companies in the mainstream world. Which will survive in the long run, is an excellent question. Thoughts? Huh
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What is the most discreet way to hide your crypto from thieves? on: January 29, 2021, 12:26:05 PM
Recently, it came to my curiosity in finding ways on how to properly hide Bitcoin from prying eyes. For a hardcore crypto enthusiast like me, storing Bitcoin safely without driving unwanted attention is a must. Thanks to Bitcoin's portability, one can easily store thousands of dollars (USD) worth of Bitcoin in even the smallest places you could ever imagine. What comes to my mind is storing Bitcoin on a microSD card, put it on a small "Ziploc" bag, and tape it underneath a table. But I think this could by discovered by a smart thief. I've heard about "nanoSD cards" from Huawei which are even smaller than traditional microSD cards. But not many devices support this. A small piece of paper with the mnemonic/seed could work, but it can be damaged with water and fire.

This makes me wonder what is the most discreet (and efficient) way to hide your crypto from thieves? I'm open to suggestions. Feel free to share your wild and crazy ideas about it here. Thanks in advance. Smiley
318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Strategies to save off Bitcoin fees? on: January 29, 2021, 12:17:26 PM
Most recently, Bitcoin's network fees have increased to a point where it's unfeasible to send small payments on a daily basis. SegWit is a solution to save from high fees, but not everyone supports it. Exchanging Bitcoin to an altcoin could be an option, but you'd still have to pay the network fee for the transaction to get processed on the Blockchain.

If there was a working strategy to save as much Bitcoin fees as possible, it would certainly prevent me a lot of "headaches". Do you happen to know of effective strategy to save off Bitcoin fees right now? Any suggestions or recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley
319  Economy / Speculation / Will Bitcoin reach $50k by the end of 2021? on: January 29, 2021, 11:36:17 AM
For the first time ever, Bitcoin reached a new All-time-high (ATH) of $40k per coin. Those who held Bitcoin since 2017 (or before) would've made a lot of money by now. Unfortunately, prices have stalled as Bitcoin is stuck between the $30k - $32k range. It could be the cause of whales buying the dip to pump the price at a later time. Whatever the reason for the price drop, Bitcoin is still much more valuable than what it was a couple of years ago. If the pandemic continues to take the world by storm, we may continue to witness new ATHs in price.

All of this makes me wonder, will Bitcoin will reach $50k by 2021? If it does, 2021 will prove to be Bitcoin's biggest year with astronomical returns for early investors. Right now could be the perfect buying opportunity while Bitcoin is still in the $30k range. What are your thoughts? Huh
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / How much will ETH be worth ten years from now? on: January 29, 2021, 11:25:55 AM
Despite the "De-Fi" hype coming to a halt, Ethereum's popularity has been increasing at a fast pace. The price per ETH is certainly a lot higher than what it was 1-2 years ago. New "De-Fi" projects and tokens are being built on the Ethereum blockchain, even with the high fees and slow transaction confirmation times. If ETH keeps rising in popularity, I'd imagine prices would be a lot higher than what they are right now. Who knows what will happen ten years from now? A full-fledged PoS version of ETH would've become a reality by then, enabling greater transaction capacity and a slight reduction in fees.

I'm starting to wonder, how much will ETH be worth (in USD) in a decade? Will it be $5k, $10k, or $15k per coin? Based on your predictions, why do you think ETH will reach such prices? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
