761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Does Litecoin have a future? on: March 24, 2016, 02:39:36 AM
Correct me if I am wrong, but I haven't seen any promising development going on for Litecoin. Does it mean that it will die soon? I don't want to FUD, but I just want to make sure if LTC could be a good investment for long term, since I have been doubting myself of it.

So, will Litecoin have a future?   Huh
762  Economy / Speculation / BTC would be even more valuable if some things are solved on: March 24, 2016, 02:36:53 AM
I think that after the halving, we might not be able to see the price of BTC go all the way up to $1000+, since there are some things that need to be sorted out, in order for this to happen.

Things like block size issues (which is allegedly solved in Classic) and discussions between decentralists and the ones in favor of BTC's scalability, have made Bitcoin separate into different ways, instead of being united like the way it was before. Also, the fact that Hearn left BTC makes me think about how things are going along difficult for the crypto currency.

Don't take me wrong or anything (I don't want to spread FUD), but I would like for Bitcoin to be great again.  Smiley
763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Faster Mist Wallet Sync? on: March 07, 2016, 10:11:19 PM
I have downloaded the Ethereum Mist Wallet for the first time, however when I open the wallet, it takes too long for syncing of the blockchain data files to complete. Isn't there a faster way to do this? It is taking hours to be able to access the Mist wallet itself. I would gladly appreciate your help.  Smiley
764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Can ETH be mined from an Android device? on: March 07, 2016, 05:08:34 PM
I know that you may not get an acceptable hashrate to mine some decent, but at least it would fun to watch the process and learn more about ETH mining. Do you think it could be possible to mine ETH with your Android device? Perhaps, it could use the internal GPU to mine bits of ETH?  Huh
765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum Powered OS on: March 05, 2016, 11:24:49 PM
Seeing how well Ethereum is doing in the last months, there is no doubt that it's capabilities could be expanded in order to make an operating system powered by Ethereum. After all, it is a decentralized platform for applications and it is often called the Ethereum World Computer.

If a decentralized operating system could be made from the Ethereum platform, things will get pretty interesting by then. Imagine an operating system with the ability to repair itself with the Ethereum network....

There are many possibilities and I think this could be a great idea. Don't you think?  Roll Eyes
766  Economy / Economics / What is your best investment strategy? on: March 05, 2016, 09:36:19 PM
The crypto world can become unpredictable sometimes, making our choices of investing into it, a very limited one. From scams to ponzis, there have been many losses from investors, yet making it very difficult to find a reliable investment.

But on the bright side, you could still invest into assets and commodities with your crypto like Gold and Silver. Then, if done right you could profit along the way with a good strategy.

As for me, I only decide to invest into gold (by exchanging BTC to Gold) and into some NXT and BURST assets.

What would be your investment strategy? Please share your tips, advice, or any good strategy you would use to safeguard your crypto investments.  Smiley
767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Best books for introducing others to cryptos? on: March 05, 2016, 08:56:35 PM
I am looking for the ideal books that would allow me to teach others or introduce them to the world of cryptocurrencies. Which ones would you recommend to me that would be suitable for this task?

This would be best for educational purposes. Any help, would be greatly appreciated  Wink
768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Gas limit too low in ETH transaction? on: March 05, 2016, 08:43:55 PM
Hey I have been exploring the Ethereum platform myself, learning more about it each day. I have been using web wallets like (name of web wallet here) with the purpose to send ETH from one address to another. However, when I send 1 ETH from the wallet, all I get is an error message saying: "Gas limit too low"

Any reason why I get this message? Sorry for asking, I am just not quite knowledgeable about Ethereum yet. I still got a lot to learn.

By the way, the wallet has 2.7 ETH in total balance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Smiley
769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is Vitalik Buterin Satoshi Nakamoto? on: March 03, 2016, 04:44:09 PM
I know it may sound crazy, but given the fact that Vitalik is one the most smartest programmers in which he created the Ethereum platform himself (also with a very complex system) it makes me think whenever Vitalik may be Satoshi or not?

Please make your vote from the poll above, and share your opinion about it.  Smiley
770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Best mining system? on: March 02, 2016, 08:07:26 PM
There has been many forms of mining crypto currencies. One of them is the well known Proof of Work system, which requires computing power made by a CPU or an ASIC miner in order to secure the coin's network. Then came Proof of Stake, and others such as Delegated Proof of Stake and Proof of Concept.

Which would you think it would be the best form of mining cryptos? In my opinion, I would choose Proof of Work because I think it is more secure than others.  Cheesy
771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How would Bitcoin handle TPS like Visa? on: March 02, 2016, 07:59:17 PM
I was wondering if there could be a possibility of making Bitcoin handle TPS as fast an efficient as Visa? Perhaps, it could be achieved but I think that Bitcoin's security would be at risk don't you think?

Maybe this has something to do with a block size increase...

I would like to see your opinions about it.  Smiley
772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum Domain Names? on: March 01, 2016, 04:18:16 PM
I was wondering if there could exist the possibility of having your own domain (TLD) based on the decentralized Ethereum platform. Similar to NXT, where I could establish an alias (NXT aliases) and set it up as a domain name ending in .nxt

As for Ethereum, I think it could be ending in .eth where it could be really interesting once it becomes a reality (if it didn't already).

What do you think?
773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Looking for a way to store data onto the Blockchain on: March 01, 2016, 12:00:49 PM
I know that this could be achieved with Maidsafe, but the SAFE Network hasn't gone to mainnet (or released yet) and it would make me have to wait some time for it to happen. Unless there is a way which I am not aware of, then it would be fantastic.

If storing data onto the blockchain (like files or documents, etc) is already possible, can you please let me know which coin or what method could be used to achieve this?
774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Where to learn everything about Ethereum? on: March 01, 2016, 11:50:43 AM
Any good sites, books or any other sources of information that I could use in order to learn more about the Ethereum platform? Since I found out that the same is a very powerful one for making dapps, I have become more interested into learn more about it, especially on how to make your own applications from within the decentralized platform. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Smiley
775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What were your experiences with Bitcoin when you first started? on: February 22, 2016, 07:51:16 PM
I would like to know what experiences did you had when you first started with Bitcoins. As for me, I had many that I would like to share with you.

When I began in the Bitcoin world, I was a complete rookie with no proper knowledge of how did mining worked or anything about cryptocurrencies. I just thought about Bitcoin as another payment processor like PayPal. But when I joined the BitcoinTalk community, I learned so many things along the way. In my process of learning in the first days, I decided to invest into cloud mining services. Since I didn't knew much about it, I invested a plenty amount of Bitcoins to start my journey into it. During that time, I had gotten into many different services. Those were GAW Miners, then Cointellect, cloudminr.io and finally Hashnest. After getting scammed many times by the services mentioned previously, (except for Hashnest) I have lost many Bitcoins. As a result, I decided to never invest into cloud mining and thus dedicate myself into learning more about the cryptocurrency and look for other ways to earn Bitcoins. It was then that I enrolled into the signature campaign that I am currently into and during all that time I began to earn Bitcoins as well as diversify my investments into different alt coins. Now I am dedicated to trading Bitcoins and other alt coins, as well as working for it (like the signature campaign and working as a freelancer) in order to earn coins and build up my portfolio along the way.

Anyways, what would be your experiences with this exciting cryptocurrency?  Cheesy
776  Economy / Trading Discussion / Decentralized Exchanges? on: February 22, 2016, 06:04:11 PM
I am looking for a list of decentralized exchanges where I could exchange BTC to alt coins or vice versa. Also, if there would be such exchange that would allow to exchange fiat to BTC, then it would be great. I would appreciate your help with this.  Smiley
777  Bitcoin / Mining / How to make a RPi mining pool? on: February 22, 2016, 12:48:38 AM
What exactly do I need to do to make a mining pool with my Raspberry Pi 2? I am looking for an easy to setup software to get everything up and running. A Bitcoin mining pool would be great, but if there is also one for alt coins, then please let me know where or how I could get started.  Smiley
778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What is your favorite PoS coin? on: February 21, 2016, 11:39:41 PM
Among a varied list of alt coins that can be PoS mined, there are some that are proven to be useful and others have a high interest rate. Which would be your most favorite?

If I'd pick one I would choose Peercoin, since it is the oldest and first PoS coin that came into existence, and has good development and community. My second most favorite would be Tekcoin, since it pays a high interest rate (40%) every 30 days. But I'd see your experiences regarding PoS coins, and which would be your most favorite.  Smiley
779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What do you think about ZCash? on: February 21, 2016, 08:56:18 PM
There has been announcements going around lately about a new cryptocurrency called ZeroCash (or ZCash) who purpose is to provide better anonymity and secure transactions. What do you think about? Will it be able to become so popular that it could rival Monero, ShadowCash, or even Dash? I am keeping an eye on this one, as it might probably become the next Bitcoin if it proves to be useful and can keep up with its promised features.  Roll Eyes
780  Bitcoin / Mining support / Configuring miners for testnet Bitcoins? on: February 21, 2016, 08:49:50 PM
Just asking how it is really done since it is a little confusing to me, now that it would be my first time to set up testnet mode from within Bitcoin Core. When configuring CGminer, or a similar mining software, what do I need to do for the miners to begin mining testnet coins? Also, will it be compatible with normal mining pools, or is there one specific for testnet?

Wondering how it could be done, I thought it was all about placing my testnet into the mining pool configuration, but I am not so sure it would do the trick. Anyone tried this?  Huh
