741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Has anyone made ETC Geth to work on Raspberry Pi? on: August 23, 2016, 08:51:23 PM
I have been trying to run the ARM build for Ethereum Classic's Geth client in my Raspberry Pi to make it a full node, but no matter how hard I try I get an error message saying:
Code:
bash: geth: command not found

I just downloaded the ARM builds for Geth in the project's GitHub page. The version I used was geth-linux-arm-7

Then, I just cd into the directory where the binary was downloaded and placed the filename: geth-linux-arm-7 in the terminal. I even tried using sudo but still no luck on making geth run on it whatsoever. Any help? Sad
742  Bitcoin / Mining / My portable Raspberry Pi setup for mining on: August 20, 2016, 05:35:24 PM
I have managed to make portable Raspberry Pi 3 mining setup that runs on an external battery power bank of 10,000mAh and uses an Android tablet as its screen, mouse, and keyboard.

This setup will be mainly for on the go mining, but I can also use it for staking coins if I wish. Now, all I need is a mobile hotspot and I will be complete. Also, I was thinking of changing the external power bank to a solar one (which I could buy at ebay)

What do you think about it?  Smiley
743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How to make an ETH fork/clone? on: August 16, 2016, 06:26:40 PM
I kind of have an idea on how to fork Bitcoin to make a new alt coin, but turns out that Ethereum is quite more complex than I thought.

Any ideas on how do I make an alternative coin out of Ethereum (like other ETH clones have done such as Shift, Expanse, and Krypton)?

Sorry for asking, but I just find it a lot more difficult to create an alt out of ETH, than of BTC.  Undecided
744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Are smart contracts doomed? on: August 16, 2016, 06:16:23 PM
Seeing past events like The DAO hack, the Ethereum hard fork, and most recently the inception of an alternative chain (or should I say original chain) called Ethereum Classic, makes me wonder whenever the term "smart contracts" is already doomed.

Its aim (for ETH) was supposed to be an immutable smart contracts platform, free some censorship, and mutability. However, with ETH's hard fork, all of this has gone to oblivion.

Now, it is up to whenever smart contracts can survive or not as I would say that the whole Ethereum ecosystem is doomed. If I'm wrong, then please correct me.

Even if ETH reaches Casper PoS stage, it may be very difficult to gain the trust (ETH Foundation) it had once.

What do you think?
745  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / How much do you earn with mining? on: August 16, 2016, 06:10:56 PM
Nowadays, mining is not as profitable as it used to be at the beginning, still it is sort of like a passive income to earn some money along the way.

So I'm just curious to know if you're making decent profit mining Bitcoin or altcoins.

By the way, HashFlare will be adding Dash mining soon so I think it wil be pretty great to buy some hashrate (although, I'm not pretty sure if the service is a scam though)  Smiley
746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Which crypto is truly anonymous? on: August 04, 2016, 10:08:32 PM
There are several anon coins in crypto land, each with their own unique features such Masternodes, mixing, Tor and i2p integration and many more. However, it is up to debate whenever they are truly anonymous or not. Based on the coins you've tried and experienced with, I would like to know which one of them from the poll would be the one of your choosing that meets the above purpose.

747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Crypto assets to invest into? on: July 26, 2016, 10:50:04 PM
I'm looking into other assets in crypto land to invest into, that pays dividends to its shareholders. I used to have some Banxshares, but now it seems defunct (low liquidity, no market movement) and so I decided to look out for other alternatives.

Could anybody recommend me any good assets to invest into aside from Banxshares? I would greatly appreciate your help with this.  Smiley
748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Anyone has the FAI wallet for download? on: July 26, 2016, 09:40:41 PM
I have been looking everywhere around the web, including the official site of the Free Anonymous Internet Project (but seems to be taken down) but I can't seem to find the FAI wallet anywhere for download.

It seems that the Free Anonymous Internet Project has been left behind and abandoned, but I would like to get my hands on the wallet in order to support it by adding some full nodes as well as to try to make it useful once more. A project like had a very strong potential to become the next Tor, but I guess that there wasn't much interest into it to keep it going.

I will give out a small BTC tip to the first person that provides me a way to download the wallet. Make sure to post the link to download here as well as your BTC address for the reward.  Smiley
749  Economy / Reputation / I have been wrongly accused and got a negative trust score on: July 24, 2016, 11:58:47 PM
User defcon23 has left me a negative trust score, in which, he does not have any evidence to sustain his claims. He just left me a negative feedback out of nowhere, accusing me of something that he cannot prove. The reasons for this are bullshit and I publicly request defcon23 to stop pulling me into conflicts that I am not part of.

Below, you can see a screenshot of above user, claiming that my account is an alternative one belonging to another BCT member:

Therefore, I want him to remove the feedback.
750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Will Bitcoin get the ability to implement reversible transactions? on: July 22, 2016, 11:12:06 PM
As of now, (and it has always been) Bitcoin transactions are irreversible meaning that there is no way to get them back (in case of a scam) unless the recipient decides to send those coins back to its original owner. (sort of like refunds)

But, I was thinking of the possibility that Bitcoin may get reversible transactions in the future, in order to prevent scams, fraud, etc. Do you think that such thing will ever exist or what would be the consequences?  Smiley
751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How anonymous are Dash transactions? on: July 22, 2016, 11:07:46 PM
Just for curiosity, how anonymous are Dash transactions from within the blockchain? I am asking this, because I can still track a specified Dash address in the block explorer, the same way I would with Bitcoin.  Huh

Unless, I am looking wrong at it but until now I cannot differ from the anonymous nature of Dash. Any help here? Just want to know more about Dash's anonymity. After all, it is a anon coin.  Roll Eyes

I will be looking forward to your replies.  Smiley
752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How to resolve .bit domains from within Qora? on: July 05, 2016, 12:04:47 AM
As Qora serves as a decentralized web server based on blockchain technology with many advanced features such as Naming service, Assets and more. Sometimes, I wonder if I can resolve .bit domains with it in order to create a full fledged decentralized website.

If that is possible, then it would be a great way to make a website completed based on blockchain technology. Any way on how I could do this? It would make the perfect combination of Namecoin + Qora.  Grin
753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / List of dapps for Ethereum? on: July 01, 2016, 03:20:28 PM
I'm looking for a full list of dapps made within the Ethereum platform to test myself and serve as reference for some dapps that I'm going to develop in the near future.

Also, I would need some advice regarding the gas used when executing a smart contract as I have noticed sometimes that when I use a certain amount of it when executing the same, I get an error message saying that I have insufficient gas (also, the block explorer shows that the contract execution failed) Is there any way to know what is the minimum amount of gas needed to execute a smart contract? How do I find this information? Sorry for asking, I'm just curious to know as I had certain issues with this at the moment of getting started with the smart contract. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Wink
754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / How does coin control work? on: July 01, 2016, 03:16:07 PM
This may seem like a noob question but ever since I have been with Proof of Stake cryptocurrencies, I have never thought about using this feature. It has been said that this feature is best for optmizing or receiving stakes, but I want to know how does it really work? How can I use this effectively to stake my coins? Any guide or advice on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.  Grin
755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Can I create a private Bitcoin blockchain? on: July 01, 2016, 03:10:24 PM
Is it possible to make your own private blockchain within Bitcoin itself? (separate chain) I know that I can do this with Ethereum, but for Bitcoin it has taken me quite some time to figure it out. The private chain would be more like a separate chain to make BTC transactions out of its main chain and test certain capabilities of it. If this can be accomplished with Bitcoin, then it would be great.  Smiley
756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How to stake 24/7 on a VPS? on: July 01, 2016, 03:06:13 PM
I would like to know if it is possible to stake a PoS coin like Diamond or Hyperstake 24/7 from within the VPS. All I know is how to setup the same on it, but I don't how to make it run 24/7 as the more the wallet is open, the more chances of receiving stakes I will get. Any advice, tips or tricks would be helpful to me. I would greatly appreciate any help with this.

758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Classic or Core? Which one is better? on: March 24, 2016, 10:54:35 PM
I have seen a recent spike in the number of nodes that support bigger blocks (2mb) with Bitcoin Classic. However, Bitcoin Core is still in the lead. I was wondering which would be better to support, since I have doubts on whenever bigger blocks could cause an issue to BTC's decentralization.

If it were me, I think I would go with Classic, since bigger blocks means more capacity for transactions. I would like to view your opinion about this.  Smiley
759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / What is your favorite proof of mining? on: March 24, 2016, 02:51:29 AM
Which of the proof of mining concepts, do you like the most? Proof of Work, Proof of Stake, or other? Please make sure to place your vote from within the poll above and discuss about why you chose that mining concept by replying to this thread.

In my opinion, I think that Proof of Work would be the best to make the coin stronger and have a fair mining distribution (unlike PoS in which the ones with the most coins, get better chances of receiving stakes)  Smiley
760  Economy / Exchanges / Will Polo pay back lending amount if burrower doesn't pay in time? on: March 24, 2016, 02:42:59 AM
I have got interested into Poloniex lending lately, and I was wondering what would happen in the case that the burrower could not pay the amount of coins in time? Will I lose them? Sorry for asking, but I tried looking information about this, but haven't got any luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I want to lend some Bitcoins in Poloniex, by the way.  Cheesy
