161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: June 27, 2017, 07:49:46 PM
It sounds like this is essentially Ethereum, but much more efficient seeing as though it has asynchronous processing of smart contracts.

https://steemit.com/eos/@dantheman/join-me-at-consensus-2017-for-the-eos-launch-party

He hasn't released many details yet, but I guess the details will come in after Coindesk's Consensus conference.

So it's Ethereum running on Ethereum except faster?  Like a dream in a dream?

Third thread is the charm...
* jwinterm crosses fingers

 Tongue

I am liking the latest direction of the coin but i am still kind of mad at the creator of this coin because they burned me on about $10,000 when they where vertpay (or something like that)... it was a paypal alternative, then they switched to a crypto coin and promised to transfer our balances to this new coin but the form always gave an error when trying to transfer your funds.

So i feel i cant get involved with this coin after a deal like i had in the past.

Burn me once, shame on me...

Good luck tho.
I hope you are not invested in Zcoin then...

This is what I don't understand.

THe same guy who develops Vertcoin develops VertZero.  Then the project dies.  Like I went looking for it the other day - I could find nothing.

And then he launches Zcoin after screwing everyone over.  Whatever happened to vertzero?  Why was it never included in Vert?
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] [WGR] | Wagerr | The Betting Blockchain | Bounties on: June 26, 2017, 03:36:44 PM
The WAVES tokens are temp tokens until the main net goes live in Q3 of this year. The true value of the coin will not be seen until later this year. The temp token is just being generated for those who want to sell and get their money out quickly.

What does it mean that Waves tokens are issued ?

And how are they sold or traded ? Who determines the value ?

WAVES is a platform where anyone can issue a token like the ERC-20 token on ETH. The real wagerr tokens wont be ready until the end of this year when the main net goes live.

In the meantime, a token on the WAVES platform will be issued so people can trade if they want... The market determines the price... simple supply and demand. When the main net is ready to launch, the WAVES tokens can be traded on a 1 to 1 basis for the real wagerr tokens.

Or... you can just keep your tokens on the wagerr website until the main net launches.

I understand this is going to be released to the waves platform so people can withdraw.  But if I want to purchase from an exchange - how do I do that?

I thought they were going to announce an exchange they were working with.

Ah when did cache switch to partial PoS?  Is there any good way to follow dev plans / progress?
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tezos discussion on: June 24, 2017, 10:03:46 AM
Can someone help me?  I think I must be missing something - I've been thru the white paper and everything I can find.

Where are references to block sizes and blocks per minute?  I'm trying to do some rough calculations on simple value transfer transactions per second.

<<Edit:  This seems to be the most up to date information for anyone else looking>>

We’re experimenting with different parameters for the consensus algorithm in terms of block size and block time. We’ll start conservatively and crank it up. Security first, scaling second.

https://medium.com/tezos/diff-2014-tezos-2017-tezos-1cb566cca892

So one minute block times.  Not sure about block sizes.

I simply pointed out the truth many of you want to pretend doesn't exist.
I have urged him to stay lots.
Whether we are on good standing or not.. many times.

He left because he wanted to.. he let you all down.
Not me and my "FUD".

You think he is special enough to basically give theymos & staff the middle finger and say i don't have to follow any rules ?
Doesn't that seem a bit childish & silly ?

He showed up here and created a bunch of accounts clicking AGREE to the TOS.
So he can make a reasonable effort to follow the rules or yeah i don't blame staff for booting him.
And i would be on Shelby's side more than any staff here too.
I've butt heads with them lots before also and who knows they may be gunning to get rid of me soon too.
I just don't see how Shelby can expect any other result with his behavior.

He pressed their button and they hit the ban button.
He had a chance to fix things and he snubbed his nose up at it.
I should defend him because he's "special" ?

All the fucking guy had to do is agree to quit braking the rules and he would have been unbanned.
How many people get an offer like that from the site owner who has to manage 1+ million accounts ?

Anyway..
I have no idea if theymos's offer is still on the table.
But i would urge Shelby to try and work it out.
I voted for him to stay here all along and it's up to him ultimately.

Love ya buddy.

Probably the only person ever to scam no one and receive a -8 trust rating just because people hated you ruining their scam fun.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think "iamnotback" really has the" Bitcoin killer"? on: June 22, 2017, 11:17:48 PM
Dammit, where is he posting now?

steemit (iamnotback) github (Shelby3)

Looks like he hasn't been around steemit for several months.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think "iamnotback" really has the" Bitcoin killer"? on: June 22, 2017, 09:53:44 PM
He abandoned you here guys because he felt after all these years he was entitled to break the rules when he feels like.

He's had more than one account perma banned too.
His 2nd to last one (IamNotBack) was banned for what i quoted earlier.
And he claimed the staff banned him because of "Ethereum FUD"
Then they give him another chance and he does all the same shit again..
And once again he railed on with conspiracy etc.

He has never understood in his infinite wisdom WHY things happen.
Yet is willing to quote himself ranting away 5 times in row all over.
His self quotes here were HUGE !

But he let you down cheerleaders.
He CHOSE this outcome.

theymos himself said if he was willing to say he would stop doing it they would unban him.
He said NO.

Oh c'mon sponiek.  He was the only one who hated scams and ICOs as much as you do.

And he was as crazy and flamboyant with a different shade of troll too.  He made this place ... special.

170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: June 08, 2017, 10:33:55 PM
Big marketing for XMR: Lauren Southern singles out XMR, BTC and ETH when describing crypto to 257,000 subscribers
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1JtJLRuqgo#t=5m28s

An articulate, social media-savvy spokeswoman can do wonders for a coin's brand awareness and market cap.  Amanda BJ pumped Dash The Instamined Scamcoin to $1 billion with only a measly 13k Subscribers and an abysmal 3k-5k views per video.

That is some impressive used car salesmanship, but nothing compared to what Lauren & Co. may do for Monero with her 260k subs and 130k views per vid.

The Alt Right+Sovereign Individual+Ancap+Libertarian+Identitarian+Trad alliance who follow Lauren is coming to liberation technology like crypto in general and Monero specifically.

Prepare your portfolios for a groundswell of organic demand for Monero's best-in-class machinery of freedom.  Cool   Cool   Cool

Would it be possible to get quotes from a few of these people to advertise in multiple videos and crowd fund it?  Milo, Laura Southern, Alex Jones.

I'm not a fan of any of em.  But they do have big audiences monero would appeal to.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: June 07, 2017, 05:02:47 PM
As noted previously I'm not a day-trader (aka gambler, except for blackjack when I can find a game with a deck cut deep enough to make card counting worth the effort... but I digress LOL) and for the most part I'm strictly just a HODL'er (Aminorex's point re: giving up attempts to TIME the market, word, +1000)

So take my observations here for what they're worth (probably little) but -- it seems to me that XMR has *yet again* done one of these "dollar-based rachet-up by TEN BUCKS" moves... hasn't it?

This has happened now multiple times, from like $10-ish where we were stuck around seven bucks for-frikkin-ever...

then went to $20... sat awhile and we got used to twenty... then to the mid-$30's...

then FluffyGate happened and we went 40-60 but then fall back to stable around $35-$45...

settled down around $45 and boring again for a little while...

and NOW from "steady forty" yesterday we do a big bounce (for no known reason?) to high 50's briefly touching $60 and...

NOW?  Seems to be settling down for a while in middle $50-bucks range.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining ("This Is Fine" LOL) but isn't this just... weird?

Why do you guys think XMR seem to be just racheting-up, based on only ten-buck dollar value and not really correlated anymore with bitcoin or anything going on with crypto in general, or even not really with XMR's own progress in general?  Just seems ODD to me...

IMO all alts are pumping due to no scaling solution in sight on BTC.  With one entity against SEGWIT that owns at least 40% of the hash.  There being enough stress over UASF that it's not happening on Aug 1st and transactions being slow and expensive - it's driving use & speculation to other markets.

Good for them!

I can't wait to hear the butthurt on this one.  Everyone and his little cousin spend a day's school lunch money so they can spamtroll - that's well over half the crowd in there.

It's going to be like listening to Frankenstein's camel stubbing his toe

Oh dear God these guys again  Roll Eyes

How's Jasinlee doing synechist?
Who's Jasinlee?

So thus project is scamming us out of our money?

The first litecoin asics that he scammed millions from.

With these goons fully backing his good name.

Then they dumped the premine after saying they'd be transparency with it.  A "closed source anon coin" (trust us guys)

Then told all their investors who were upset about being dumped on with the promises of notification "uh guys we just meant you could see it on the blockchain".

Their lead dev was losing his house and likely needed the money.  Huge circlejerk around xcoin while the devs raped the investors.

Then the blocknet ico.  Looks like they're gonna pump and dump.

Then after losing every last shred of credibility they deleted their threads in bitcoin talk because of "toxic community" and moved to slack to let their exit scam die quietly.

Proceed at your own risk.

177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero fake announcement on: May 25, 2017, 06:18:39 PM
So it was fluffypony that did a fake announcement?

In times past Monero devs have seemed pretty big sticklers to ambivalent to speculation.  Who cares if it's pumped and dumped just like any asset?  Always seemed some of the more rational approach to an alt.

This seems to be insanely odd & inappropriate behavior.  Did fluffypony's account get hacked or something?  I'd have an easier time believing that.

<<Edit:>> I just watched the video.  Which was a hilarious parody of all the shitty pump and dumps I see.  I just changed my mind from disgust to championing fluffypony.

To answer the questions.

1.)  Updated with the brand of the 390X & 380Xs.

2.)  Pictures are on the first line in the Imgur link.

3.)  Not really wanting to piece it out.

4.)  Reduced price by $1000.

Why are you selling those cards at so cheap rates?

Because I bit off more than I could chew and they've been sitting in my garage for a year.

I am leaving and need to get rid of them.

I am interested in buying but are they working properly? How much shipping cost will be to ASIA region?

Yes.  As noted I tested each card for an hour plugged into a motherboard over the last week.

I could look into shipping to Asia . . . but it's going to be expensive.  What part of Asia?  Often there are import fees that are expensive.

I will only accept crypto held in escrow.
