561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / So what's up with Ethercoin? Market cap > XC ... up 5X LEGIT ether price? on: November 20, 2014, 08:16:11 PM
I don't get it.  Highly likely scammers (no response when I asked about escrow) and the prices is up almost 5X original Ether price (0.0005)
562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NFO] Ethereum = Scam on: November 20, 2014, 05:41:16 AM
I know Ethereum isn't liked around here ... but they had more code and functionality than 99% of the altcoins in this forum had BEFORE the fundraiser even started.

They virtually rebuilt counterparty in the language they created ... in 400 lines of code (vs counterparty who just cloned Ethereum's code)

The ethics I can understand people having a problem with.  But Ethereum is a functioning product - they just reset the genesis block so it's impossible to profit off of at the moment.
563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2014 Proof of Honor (POH) Awards - Nominate an Individual! on: November 19, 2014, 10:34:41 PM
My nomination goes to Dan Metcalf, lead dev of XC, for advancing the field of cryptocurrency with his contributions.

You mean all the closed sorted ones no one can verify?   Or maybe all those pump and ... er "coin reviews"

Def groundbreaking stuff

I will send my vote to sptniek for cracking game codes.
564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: XCurrency (XC) BlockNet community thread on: November 19, 2014, 10:01:13 PM

And the fact that the XC founders are INSTANTLY ONLINE to delete replies they don't like.

It's a delete bot you fucking moron. Hahaha.

You've created many fake accounts on this forum to push your agenda of smearing Dan's projects. No-one cares what you think, you've lost all credibility.

Personally I'm glad you lost your money with the Scrypt ASICs. Usually I've got nothing against greedy idiots like you, but your attitude has been disgusting.

+1000

Classy bunch.

I'll just reply that I have no satisfaction in any of you losing money.  But immense satisfaction in the fact that it more people won't get sucked into this circlejerk closed source "anon coin"

It was Dan and Syn and Teka that sold you those cheap coins before moving on.  Not me.  I'm not to blame for your coins problems
565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: XCurrency (XC) BlockNet community thread on: November 19, 2014, 09:52:42 PM
Lolz. An asshole crying over his financial loss, this brings me great happiness.

So rather than pursue Jasin, the one who allegedly screwed you over, you obsessively smear Dan's projects. Makes sense.

I haven't smeared anything.   I followed his project.  And Dan smeared it himself.

I just ask questions people don't like.

I don't have the power to screw XC over the way that associating with prom, being caughy in bold faced lies about creating a different competing coin, diluting XC with a new ICO that contains features on the future XC roadmap, dumping the premise and not following up on a promise to be transparent (after ignoring the last one)

I am not responsible for any of it.  I'm only responsible for not turning a blind eye
566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: XCurrency (XC) BlockNet community thread on: November 19, 2014, 09:24:50 PM

I'm fairly certain it's not a delete bot as teka and syn immediately post following my posts being deleted.

Sadly being judged by random coin supporters/shills really doesn't bother me in the least.  Esp ones as rude as those from the XC camp.  You made an enemy for life when you and your longwinded wannabe smartass PR guy responded to the ASIC scandel.  By essentially calling me a moron and stating I had no proof.  And then even in your official press release you defend the guy who stole hundreds of thousands.  Largely by taking advantage of his connections in the crypto community to appear legit.

I raised highly valid points in the past only to be smeared by your PR team.

Maybe if they spent more time focusing on responding to content of critism rather than trying to force everyone to  have the proper "attitude" as you say - answers would have killed the "FUD"  But I see nothing in the way of content addressing the issues that have been brought to life.

Only statements about bad attitudes, FUD conspiracies, and "I don't have time for this I need to work on marketing, etc"

So stupid.  If they were innocent properly addressing the "FUD" would double the coins price overnight (assuming there were good answers)

But rather than do what's best for shareholders they attack the messengers, play up the victim and violate their promises.

So yeah ... dance in the rain that I lost money.  Just know the guys you are championing could actually be doing something to win back an iota of credibility if there actually are good answers to the questions laid out.  But instead they are encouraging you to put the focus on people like me while their total lack of integrity is ruining your coin.

So keep giving Dan, Syn and Teka tuggies.  Just know they don't have your back or they'd be responding to this debacle entirely differently.

P.S.  If you're a shining example of a "good attitude" then I think I'm doing just fine.  I've never gloated over XC hodlers losing money the way you guys have me.

I love seeing the truth come out so more people don't get suckered in.  But I don't gloat over people losing money.  Even assholes.
567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin fails, all cryptos fail? on: November 19, 2014, 06:11:09 PM
My opinion isn't popular.  I think a crypto has a bright future.  But it's not going to be bitcoin or any others that have a limited number of coins with inevitable extremely high transaction fees.

Not many (ethereum as far as I know is the only ... maybe doge?) That have this economic philosophy.  Making a currency a pyramid scheme is as bad as the way things work in fiat.  Rich get richer off the backs of new blood.

Just my 02
568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2014 Proof of Honor (POH) Awards - Nominate an Individual! on: November 19, 2014, 04:57:55 PM
Holy shit.  Saw Dan and thought it was a joke at first.

The sheer number of noob accounts created to shill this coin is impressive!
569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 19, 2014, 04:44:30 PM
Ah mixing rounds.  Got it - that makes more sense
570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 19, 2014, 04:13:01 PM
Can someone tell me if there's anything keeping mixers in dark from eavesdropping?   So of I added 1200 nodes could I eaves drop on 50% of transactions?
571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 19, 2014, 12:44:02 AM
I guess I feel like 99% of pricing is based on speculation.  Speculative value should be on moneros side.

572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 18, 2014, 11:39:37 PM
I enjoyed the post.

The one thing that doesn't add up to me is that darkcoin is significantly higher than Monero still.  Comparing Monero to bit coin days.  There wasn't a precursor to bitcoin that tried to do the same thing in an inferior way that had a higher market cap.

Anybody want to take a stab at explaining how they think darkcoin still being significantly higher fits into this equation?

The blow up over the non transparency of the xc premine was already in full swing.

Ironic thing about that is that they were like "oops forgot to disclose ... details coming shortly" and the details never came.

Ask about it in the main thread and you're met with cries of "the core team doesn't have time to give account for the money!" etc etc

Dan chimed in once and said that it was still coming.  After three weeks?  Yeah right ...

It's beyond me that people would trust a team with more funds for a different project immediately after finding that team had spent all the premine money from another project and didn't give account for it.

At the very least put the fundraiser off until and account of that other money could be made.  This makes me think I need to pull out of crypto all together.  We are still in an insane dotcom optimistic bubble era if people are still able to raise money with these practices
574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: XCurrency (XC) BlockNet community thread on: November 18, 2014, 09:37:26 PM
Since everything gets deleted in the main thread (I know people who don't like who I am but I feel what I have to say has merit) then I'm posting my three replies here.

Even if I'm a horrible person and just in it to destroy a coin because darkcoin or shadycoin(shadowcoin?) or whatever is paying me (which isn't the case) if what I have to say is true.  Then it really doesn't matter.

No one but the core team is responsible for all this shit & for not being transparent like THEY PROMISED

And the fact that the XC founders are INSTANTLY ONLINE to delete replies they don't like.  But can't find the time to be transparent like they promised or tactfully answer their supporters questions doesn't sit well for their legitimacy.

Try to get over the messenger and look at the message people.

Neither I nor ANY of the "FUDDERS" are responsible for the lack of transparency that was promised, the truth that came out about Prom, that your PR guy is being borderline rude, that the premine was likely distributed to the market, or the fact that Blocknet has massively dilluted XC in both roadmap (what people were expecting) and resources.

We DID NOT MAKE THE DECISIONS THAT CAUSED MASSIVE COIN HEMORRHAGING.  We might have been a slight pain in the ass in not letting things go that the PR team would have liked to see us let go - but I think your aggressive attitude is misplaced.  Maybe you should start asking yourself who is responsible rather than who won't shut up.

Quote

No one is paid to FUD XC.  It isn't an organized effort.  I don't get along with Spotniek half the time.  He sure as hell isn't on anyone's payroll.  Mr McHammer just seems like some dude who lost his big toe and thinks Dan is to blame.

There's little to no organization or collaboration on the "FUD campaign"

Stating that all FUD is an organized effort is really just a springboard to avoid questions & inconvenient truth.

Quote
What?  No.  I'm posting exactly what / with who I want.

I think you guys are missing the point.  It's like people getting pissed at the whistle blowers on the catholic church instead of the priests.  I'm not the source of your pain.  Period.  Neither is shadowcashcoin or paid shills or whoever the hell else you think is behind the FUD.

We weren't the ones who made the decisions that are driving your coin into the dirt.

Maybe it's just people pissed at the shady practices happening in crypto who don't mind calling it out.

575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 18, 2014, 09:32:20 PM
Yeah, the "point of maximum pain" is already reached, and many have (not) taken it and sold. The others are seeing their old coins as a sunken cost and making new plans for new acquisitions at levels they previously could not imagine.

Like I did not think in June that the 0.0015 wall would ever be needed to rise, much less that it would fill.

I'm sorry ... I disagree.

I know you've been optimistic all the way down from .004 but I just think the emission, anon coin bear market, the large botnets who run the majority of the mining ... it could prop up for a month or two for current investors getting more.  But then continue downward to .001 or less.

I think what we're seeing is one whale buying other whales sell orders.  The miners will continue to overcome those small fry people who are accumulating with the emission curve for a few more months (IMO).  If / when they run out of ammo before getting more people on board I think we could see a massive dump down into the 0007 - 0009 range.

Maybe I'm dreaming ... but if that happens I'll be picking more up.  For now my real world fiat needs are getting taken care of.

Ah, actually we agree. I referred "the point of maximum pain" as emotionally, not that the lowest price had been reached. What I mean is that (imo) hardly anyone is emotionally attached to the uptrend anymore, and could not (and would not) feel any worse if it goes to 0.001, even though the (as big) slides from 0.0045->0.003, 0.003->0.002 or 0.00225->0.0015 felt very nasty. Now if it indeed drops to 0.00075, I don't believe people will feel like jumping the bridge, which they definitely would have felt at 0.004 if presented with 0.002 (and when it did happen).

When price is not going our way, we stick to the fundamentals. Everyone would like GUI, DB, and emission to be fixed, but while they aren't, there is still no viable alternative in the privacy coin segment. If there was, then Monero would have a hard time. Now that the price is having a hard time is just something we have to take as a fact, and act accordingly, buy, sell or hold.

Unlike in previous times, there is now great money to be made in Monero. Percentage moves are large and volume is there. Situation is good for those who have any assets outside their XMR bag currently.

I gotcha.  Yes I rode Vertcoin from $1.05 down to $.20 when I jumped out on a pump.  Then followed them down to $.05.  So I can see what you're saying.  I think there will be another stubborn painpoint around .001 but I could be wrong.

The GOOD news is that Vertcoin has like 5X total coin supply and does not a whole hell of a lot except stay GPU friendly (which it's not even that right now).  XMR total coins released are like 1/5th of what Vert will release in total - so XMR is only twice as much as Vert for the same % of the market cap.

The privacy, active devs, coming GUI, non instamine, etc makes me think it should really be worth 4 - 5 times Vert's value at the very least.

Not sure if Vert needs to drop to .01 or XMR needs to go up...

If you are interested why Counterparty is not even a threat to Ethereum, here you are:

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2m30j6/counterparty_recreates_ethereum_on_bitcoin/cm0o1rf

Anf if you understand what smart contract are trying to achive, do the math: Counterparty 10 minute blocktime vs. Ethereum 12 seconds blocktime.

it cannot be determined which will be better....anyone saying otherwise either has a crystal ball or is a lunatic. we just do not know what the developers have in store.

We donīt need a crystal ball. 10 minutes blocktime for smart contract is doomed from the beginning.
The real questions are: Is 12 seconds fast enough? Is it possible to achive instant transactions?

In my opinion the killer feature everybody is waiting for is instant transactions.

Ripple has almost instant transactions, and ripple labs is developing a smart contract system called Codius.

http://www.coindesk.com/ripple-labs-unveils-proposal-new-smart-contract-system/

Isn't ripple just a SQL database of I owe U's?

It's had long enough to get consensus and they haven't.  Plenty of good technology but scammy economics.

aaand what i realy wonder, how there can be near 3million ETC on Bittrex:

https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-ETC

and this guys sale 1million ETC for now:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=798031.0

why they are on the market???

Who owns these?  How do we know theres' anything backing them up (much less that they'll actually redeem the keys if they do own them)

In theory someone could've put more of their coins in the market if they owned more ether than they originally created?  I'd stay far far away from this.
578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: November 18, 2014, 09:19:45 PM
Is there an approximate release date for this?

Winter of 2014/2015.  They are working on their next to last iteration ... release candidate 8 I believe? & there will be one more before the Genesis block
579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: November 18, 2014, 09:13:02 PM
hello folks, is this price similiar to the real eutherum coin?Huh

http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ethercoin/#social

Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

Ethereum presale is closed.  That coin claims to be trading real ethereum coins - I wouldn't trust it.

Wait until it's released into the market and you'll know how much it is.

I believe with the price of bitcoin Etheres were about $.20 at the time of presale (2,000 ethers = 1btc)
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 18, 2014, 08:28:51 PM
I told you weeks ago how Blocknet is going to sub ICO almost right after launch and all I heard was "stop fudding, go away"  Smiley

Haha what the hell does BlockNET have to do with Monero?

It's like the Value brand of SuperNET which I'm not a fan of anyways.

People got their cheap tokens ... just now figuring out how cheap  Roll Eyes
