281  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The meaning of [ANN] and stake in " Bounties (Altcoins) " on: February 21, 2018, 11:54:31 PM
[ANN] marks announce threads. You better not mention bounties there Smiley Those are official threads for speakng about the project.

Stake means your share in the bounty. All good of them are measured in stakes to avoid unspent bounty funds or situations when there are 'too many' participants.

If a bounty fund is 10,000 and you are the only one to do a task for 1 stake, you will receive all 10,000 (implssible though)

On the other hand there can't be a moment when 10,000 fund is offered for 1000 participants who all should be granted 50 tokens, because this way like 80% will receive noting tho they have done all the tasks.
In addition i think the computation of stakes is:

(Amount of allocated campaign tokens / Total amount of all campaign participants' stakes)  *  Member's stakes

I have read this somewhere here, i forgot to copy the link but i have copied the text. Ctto.

Please how will join bounty campaign and get paid? Help me

Welcome to the forum!

You can see bounty campaign in the marketplace>services>bounty(if alt coins). Click one and read, check the requirements if you have met it, find the application form and fill it up and you're good to go.

Reminder: this place is not made for monetary purposes, although it's not required, try to interact more to people and strive for knowledge in crypto.

Goodluck!
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is softcap and hardcap? on: February 21, 2018, 02:12:01 PM
A soft cap is the minimum needed for the project to proceed and a hard cap is the amount that they will accept no more than. For instance a soft cap could be 10 million and a hard cap 30 million meaning if the project does not attain 10 million it will not proceed and also if it reaches 30 million no more can be contributed.
Nice explanation you got there, a good example to the newbies. Hope i'll see you more and i'm rooting for your success! Goodluck!
284  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism and copy/paste posts on: February 20, 2018, 10:52:37 AM
I already reported this to the moderator. But i would like to put this here to bring up this posts, to:
1. remind everyone that plagiarism is wrong and is a serious crime.
2. remind everyone that people read the internet, don't assume that no one will notice your posts.

If your new to the crypto space or want to take a more deeper dive into the world of ICOs and various other alt coins than this post may be for you. Here are four tools all the links I use on a regular basis to stay up-to-date and help me to make better trades.

1 - Cointelligence

It has several features:

a) General Overview of the Market

Here you can view several altcoins. To my knowledge, they have the largest database of all altcoins. You can sort the data by price, volume, algorithm, proof type, market cap and 24h change.

b) Coin Specific Data

You can view charts and market data on a specific cryptocurrency. Useful information includes latest trades from all exchanges, forums, orders on all exchanges, advanced charts and analysis.

c) Coin Analysis

You can also read the latest news regarding the market as well as analysis made by chart analyst experts. The Bitcoin analysis has been particularly impressive www.cointelligence.com/content/analysis/bitcoin

2 - Coinbase

Probably the most popular and easy-to-use exchange in the space that allows you to buy/sell Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin. This is my normal go to exchange if I need to bring fiat money into the market.

3 - Coindera

Coindera makes it easy to monitor Bitcoin and over one hundred cryptocurrencies. You can get real-time alerts sent via email, SMS, and push notifications to your Android or IOS devices and the user interface is responsive and attractive.

4 - Blockfolio

If you do wish to monitor your portfolio I recommend using Blockfolio. It's a mobile app available on Android and iOS that does not require an account. There is a lot of privacy speculation about portfolio management apps in general but this application seems to be on the up and up.

Here are the tools I use to help me trade better. Comment below other tools I missed and those that you would like to recommend.

285  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is an ico, why we choose ico on: February 19, 2018, 12:55:18 PM
Appreciate your work for explaining about ICO,  Smiley
i have a question about give away tokens during the ico. is that Tokens become Coins? after the ico or
token value   equal to the coin price after the ico?  Huh Huh

I didn't quite understand your question well. Are you saying that the values of the coin before and after the ico would be equal?

From what i know(still a newbie despite the member rank), initial values of coins are 0, its value would increase depending on the sales of the token. The higher the demand, the more value it'll get.
286  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Source Quotas on: February 19, 2018, 05:41:04 AM
I've got aanother idea - introduce posting quotas for new members until they can prove they aren't just merit hunters.
What do you mean by these? How can post quota prove that someone is a merit hunter? Wouldn't this force newbies to spam post since they don't have enough knowledge?
287  Other / Meta / Re: I dont agree to add demerit system on: February 19, 2018, 01:51:27 AM
I wont agree to have a demerit system.
My reasons are listed below.

-- Demerit system might put a huge wall between members instead of having a good conversation with others.

-- Letting other members to give demerit to others is not a good idea. There might be people who might give demerit to other member that they dont like.

-- People tends to retaliates when somebody mocks them. So its possible for two members to give demerits with each other until they both loss all their merits.

-- Demerits will add to the difficulty to rank up.

For me this forum is created so that the members here will help each other to grow. Do you agree with me?

Ps. I hope my english is on point,so if you found something wrong you can correct me so that i can learn more.
This is what i've been pointing out with all these demerits posts. Who in this forum would like to have negativities on their account? Not only it'll help the difficulty to rank up, it'll be like trusts that would make others think bad of you, making you obsolete. Let's help each other grow, not pull each other down.
288  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to I get merit on: February 19, 2018, 12:53:04 AM
How to I got merit. Is this only given or another options. No one give merit without any post. By the way merit option is so good but I saw a problem there is some person sent merit that's not depend attractive post. If I create attractive post so am I able to got that merit. Please anyone tell me.
First try to improve your language proficiency. This will help you increase the probability of others to understand what you're trying to say, thus increasing your chance of getting one.
289  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to increase your merit ? on: February 18, 2018, 10:22:35 AM
Hi guys,
I wonder how can i increase my merit ?
Thank you so much
There are a lot of questions like this on begginers & help and meta, try to read first before asking. That would be rule number 1 in increasing your merit - read before anything else.
290  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Real Guide on How to Get MERIT! on: February 18, 2018, 10:19:34 AM
The Real Guide on How to NOT Get MERIT!
1. Post a tantrum because you're not smart enough to make helpful and constructive posts

2. Be a regular in off-topic and spread your oneliner on bitcoin discussion.
291  Other / Meta / Re: New Merit Proposal on: February 17, 2018, 03:14:53 PM
There is something odd with the process og merit system though its objective is good so far as I know which is to promote helpful information in the forum and not just by posting comments or post that are considered as trash. Those comments that are poorly constructed. Well anyway with opinion on dividing merits given to all the members within that thread could be possibly a good idea. Yet, I think also that there are more good ideas in giving merits. Like for example giving 3 merits a day to 3 commendable post. It must be a need to give these 3 merits or else it will be deducted to your merits. So 3 merits could do daily.
Both ideas are terribly stupid. Dividing merits to the members within a thread would be like taking a shower, once the thread was given a merit other people will join in. Second, giving 3 merits a day as a requirement is not a good idea cause there are members in this forum who have a life outaide the forum. Their hard earned merits would unknowingly disappear, that would be to unfair
292  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Making enough crypto for trading without buying them on: February 17, 2018, 10:11:16 AM
Hi guys,
The more i do faucets the more i realize that it's almost impossible to collect enough coins of any kind to trasfer them on an exchange (paying the fee for low tranfrer) and still having enough of them to reach the minimum transaction threshold to start trading...
I tried to get referrals too, to improve the earnings, but still have 0, it's harder than i thought... xD

Can you suggest a way to collect some cryptos (25$-30$ equivalent?) in a reasonable amount of time, without buying them? (for reasons of anominity, so also no stuff selling etc...)
Thanks.

I think the best answer to your question is doing some campaigns. But participating in some requires a minimum of jr member rank(not all but most). Campaigns include, twitter, facebook, signatures, etc.

Airdrops take time, but be careful, airdrops on this forum is prohibited. Also, alot of these airdrops are scam so be thankful if you've received some. But if not, it's okay it's not like you're doing hard work for it.

What do you mean airdrops on this forum are prohibited?  What part of an airdrop is illegal on the forum or are you talking about spamming? Sig campaigns are allowed.
Air drops are free coins/tokens. See more here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2438246.0
And on forum give away are prohibited, including referral links. (Both can be considered as airdrop) see rule number 4 and 15.

293  Other / Meta / Re: New Merit Proposal on: February 17, 2018, 04:38:44 AM
I think you're misinterpreting the purpose of giving a different set of users merits each week. Also not everyone should be getting merits, if everyone was rewarded then merits would be useless. This proposal gives different users merits instead of the same users every week.

If the same users are getting merits, then the same type of content might be rewarded with merits by these users.

If different users are given merit each week, then different type of content will be rewarded.
You can't say that different set of users would be rewarded every week, that would be unfair to users who are constantly giving off quality posts.
What's wrong with same users getting merits if that's what they deserve? Can't same users posts different kind of content?

295  Other / Meta / Re: New Merit Proposal on: February 17, 2018, 03:30:31 AM
This system will give a more decentralized approach to the system, which is what crypto currency is all about. It will also give everybody the opportunity to join in with the system and more people might therefore accept the system. Let me know what you think.

This is a centralized forum, and even though it's about something decentralized, it shouldn't be. Imagine how much worse the spam situation would be with no moderation at all.

What's stopping me from making hundreds of alt accounts to easily gain merits? Your idea gives power to the account farmers again, which is a horrible idea and restarts something that shouldn't exist. I think we should wait a bit more time before jumping to conclusions with the merit system, and if you consistently post quality, missing out on some of those posts shouldn't be an issue. Only the people that are here solely for signature campaigns and spam dislike the merit system.
This plus about number 2,

2. At the end of a set period of time (eg, once per week) a pool of merits are evenly distributed among all the members who received upvotes. The amount of merits they get is proportional to to number of upvotes they have received divided by the total upvotes given to all members in that week.

This would give members a float type of merit and a negligible amount also. Small numbers of upvotes(you have received) over a large number(total upvotes given to all members in that week).

For example: you've received 100 within a weekspan and as of now that i am writing this post, i have checked that there's 71920 merits sent since the beginning of the system.

71920/3(weeks since merit system was implemented) = 23973.33333(average merits given per week)

100(upvotes you've received in a week)/23973.33333(average merits given per week)= 0.004171301 merits

Not only this 0.004 merits is not practical, this also increases the difficulty in gaining one.

This can be overcome by only giving merits to the top 1000 or so users for that week.
Can you please elaborate this? Top 1000 users would again, greatly increase the difficulty in gaining a merit. There are more than 10000 users here(i suppose, need help in determining the number of active accounts, can't find it, but i think the number is higher) if suppose there are only 10000 members cutting off 90% would be too harsh. That would even eliminate full members at least(if the ranking of the users are proportional on how they post).

Sorry ProzCoin, you are banned from using this forum!
For security, your account has been locked. Email acctcomp15@theymos.e4ward.com

What does this mean ? thanks for help

It means that you may have violated a forum rule(s) and someone may have reported it, and mods noticed the report. Well thanks captain obvious. Jk.

But seriously, think of things that you're doing with your account and reflect if one of those violated the rule. I'm sure you know what will that be since you're using your account unless you have someone to pilot it.

298  Other / Meta / Re: Not merit, demerit is the way to go! on: February 16, 2018, 09:56:18 PM
Merit system is working and better than demerit system(if to be implemented). Why?

1. Because having merit would boost your morale. Because every merit you've received was all from hard work, your hard work. With this, people are recognizing that you have contrbuted something in the forum. I'm sure you'll feel the same way too when you receive one.

2. Because having demerit makes things more difficult. Having negativity on your account would decrease the trust of people who're surrounding you. Do you really want people to picture you with the number of mistakes you have? Plus IMO, if have demerits i would rather not show up in this forum again.
299  Other / Meta / Re: Indicator for "marked as reported" in the forum on: February 16, 2018, 07:21:49 AM
I'm not sure if reporting twice is a good or a bad thing. For example, I reported this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167635.msg28858853#msg28858853 advertising spam a few weeks back and when the (abandoned) thread got bumped again yesterday it was still there so I reported it again. I think a lot of reports go unhandled as there aren't enough mods to deal with them so by reporting again you might increase the chances of it getting deleted. The other side of that is obviously I don't want to spam the mods with reports so I only do it when it's been a long time that the post hasn't been dealt with.

It would be interesting to know what the mods think to your suggestion. Would it be a help or a hindrance to them?

I'm thinking, maybe add a feature like when you click the report to moderator button a pop up dialogue box would appear saying "this post has been reported to the moderator by someone else/you already. Wait for X time if you want to bring up the report again. Thank you!"

X would be time since the post has been reported. Maybe give the mods a week or so? So that reports won't be spammed to mods and the reporters identity would be censored.
300  Other / Meta / Re: Add an button to specify the board to do the google search on: February 16, 2018, 07:10:13 AM
You use "an" when the following word would start its letter with a vowel(aeiou).

Example: "an apple"

But there's an exception with h. If the word would have a silent h like honor you may use "an"

Example: "it would be an honor"

If the start with conosonants(bcdfghjklmnpqrstvwxyz) you should use "a"

Example: "Add a button to specify the board to do the google search"

Just trying to help, no offense.

From my pov, searching on google rather than using the forum's own search button would give a better result. But i don't think we "need" this drop-down button, just search for the thing you're searching for and add the section where you think that thing you're looking for is and bitcointalk.

Example: "guide to earning merits meta bitcointalk"

Guide to earning merits is the thing that i would like to search, meta would be the section, then add the bitcointalk. This would morelikely give you what you're searching for.
