Merit system aside (Everyone's stoked about this) i have a question. Although it is somehow related to this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2817248.0 (sorting posts) i am not quite sure if i'd put this question here or reply in that thread. But the previous question was answered so i'm hoping that this would be answered too. But if not, it's okay since i'm just asking cause im curious.

The question is:

Why do all posts are branded [new] even if the last post in that thread is a couple of months ago or even more? Are there any ways to sort these posts to be literally [new] maybe within the 24 hrs period? Or anywhere near so that we could see what's new and what's not.

Also, why do some of the threads that i have read are still highlighted and some are not? I do understand that i need to refresh the page, but it doesn't show. Does anyone have the same experience as me? Did you solve this problem?

Thank you in advance for the answers! Godbless!

Ps: am i shit posting? If this is shit posting please tell me, i can delete this immediately.

I believe it is always marked as [new] unless you've read the last message/post posted in the topic/thread, no matter how old the thread itself is.

If you feel lik you've read everything you want to, you can simply click "Mark Read" for this section, and everything will be marked as such, until a new reply/topic is posted again.

Is this what you mean?
I knew somebody has the answer, thanks! I just don't feel that people would see this question if it's posted in the previous thread. This would save my time realizing i have already read the post. Thank you sir!

Ayyeeeee! I got 4 merits from marlboroza, thank you! Now i just need one merit to be a member! This merit system is pumping my hype up! Thought jr members would be ignored and left behind. Thank you for proving my thoughts wrong! I am really happy for these. Not only am pushing myself to be better and improve the quality of my posts, the feeling of achievement everytime someone is meriting(?) me is awesome! Thanks again!  Grin

There you go bud...  crack on have fun, learn and of course pay it forwards
I'll pay it forward by posting quality posts as much as possible and give my sMerit to those who deserve it! Thank you for the merits! Godbless!

387  Other / Meta / Re: What is this bullshit merit system? on: January 27, 2018, 10:48:45 AM
Forum has introduced a merit system, but why. Do it really needed because it will cause spamming all around if anyone have extra merit points they can choose its own references to giveaway rather than giiving for the unique post. Do forum has to study again before implementing this regulation in the policies.
Dude relax, me too at first, was really disappointed about the merit system but as you read here in the forum you'll realize that it's not half bad. It was introduced because the forum is really overflowing with shit post. The admins, moderators, and other members just want to make the forum great again.
if anyone have extra merit points they can choose its own references to giveaway rather than giiving for the unique post.
Aren't these people allowed to choose which post is a quality post for them? If you got a unique post and a quality one, i'm sure there are members that would merit you for that. Also, since it is new to the forum high rank members are starting to help low ranks by letting them examine their posts.

You can see that here:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2830612.msg29015875#msg29015875

Try to join and ask for help. These high ranks are quite welcoming, just be sure you're posting quality post. Or if not(since we're both low ranks) improve what we're currently posting by reading more posting less. Goodluck in the new system! Hope everybody will understand what this is for.  Cheesy

Hi!

I saw this thread linked in by another thread(this thread:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2830612.msg29015875#msg29015875).

In what i have read, you're helping all kinds of members to rank up(give merits) if their posts are merit-worthy. I would like to ask you a favor and do check mine.

If there are non, maybe an advise?

Thanks a lot!

390  Other / Meta / Re: Which section I could post list of blockchain games? on: January 27, 2018, 01:31:12 AM
Hi!

I was searchin a list of blockchain based games to make some investments into them as they gonna be hype in 2018, but hadn't found anything useful.
So I did it by myself at reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/BlockchainGame/comments/7oi21o/daily_updated_table_list_of_blockchain_based_games/

Now the topic question:
1. Which forum branch I could post this list to (Altcoins?), cause I think it is very useful for those who are interested into game investment.
2. I might copy it here to bitcointalk as well but styling will be lost cause of forum engine. Should I just share reddit link or make new post with table inside?

Does blockchain game be considered as bounty or ad campaign? If so, then probably here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0 since it includes altcoin bounties and ad campaigns.

If there are others which are knowledgeable about this please correct me. Thank you.

391  Other / Meta / Re: Idea for the Bounty Section improvement plus bonus - less spam :) on: January 26, 2018, 11:57:42 PM
I made an example of something maybe useful and something that was missing here from my point of view. Many people are in the forum only for the bounties, f is this good or bad I can't say, but this is what they ask for all the time, especially the newbies: A list with all the bounties available for them.
If theymos decides to remove the signature campaigns, as it was discussed earlier HERE this will be irrelevant, but I leave this to the Admins.

Now the problem I see:
The Services and Bounty sections are full of spam posts with questions like "Which sig campaign to join", "Any campaign for newbies" etc.
Old bounties and new bounties are mixed on every page and it is a mess.

This is just an example how the system might work and improve the currents situation >
Here is what I created - Google form to be filled by the bounty managers /I have to note that it does not collect email addresses/:
https://goo.gl/forms/hXdTSWTwSc7pvg6H3

The spreadsheet with the answers:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CFL41C6zmkKkzBpqgghR93WGIvqp8N_XT4WlqeW4vkg/edit#gid=1594220160

Everything will be easier to read and to follow bounties, find a new one according your rank.

I want to hear your opinion.

Just a note to the early adopters: Not all the newbies, bounty hunters or non-native (NNES) are shitposters. For some It's more like a stage you go trough when you are new to the community, and you have your first interactions with this different cryptoworld in some way.
Trough the campaign I've joined til now I've learned many new things, reading whitepapers and understanding the process and possibilities given by the blockchain technology. I'm not gonna make big money out of it,I have my well paid job here in Norway, but acquire knowledge on the way.
Such dedication! This would help literally everyone who's applying for campaigns! I would like to suggest a minor thing, if you may? Can you add  a column for their capaign link? If you can include this that would be awesome! But if not no worries! I still support this idea! Goodluck on this!
392  Other / Meta / Re: How Do You Feel About This New System?? on: January 26, 2018, 04:00:35 PM
For the most part i hate it. I was just a skip ahead till i become a member yet i can't be one. I understand that the admin did this to push members to post quality posts. But reminder, there are still low ranks who dont shit post, but will be affected by the merit system. If it is so hard for us to be noticed, what more to be given a merit?

I have given you 4 merits - post in my other thread and come back in a week - consistently post as you have been and I will top you up to 10.

some people need a chance, so Ill give you one. but if there are any posts moaning about merits or any shitposts I wont be topping you up to 10.

Does this mean i am eligible to your TMAN's challenge? If that's the case monitor me, i guarantee you i always post things that i have in mind and that things are not shit.

Although i don't post crappy material i am quite worried i won't rank up to member. I am still a jr member but i am approaching the 60 activities mark yet i don't have any merits yet. How can an ordinary jr member like me gain merits? Given the fact that members need to post quality posts and other members would give you some merits. How can i gain merits if most of the post are being ignored and such?

you could of actually used the 30 seconds needed to open and read this thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2825523.0

then posted in it asking for me or others to check out your posts..

but you didn't, so you are not trying to learn... that makes you a shit poster who doesn't try to help themselves..

so - ill give you another chance to post in the thread above and try to provide value in this place, it maybe that you cant so you don't deserve any merits...
Man chill, calm down. There are tons of threads, do you expect everyone to check them one by one? Stop hating things, i'm genuinely asking here since i can't see other ways to have merits. I posted a question, isn't that helping myself? As a new member, i literally don't know anyone here i can't just casually ask someone to check my post and see if he can give me merits. I am sorry if i have offended you in any way but what you're doing is making every newbies and jr members compete for merits. I get that you want to help. But helping newbies by talking like that won't make you a great helper and a quality poster.
He's actually trying to help you, you should just say thank you and click the link he posted
I get it, he's trying to help but it doesn't feel like it. I got the whole idea of showing him my quality posts but does he actually need to say "you are not trying to learn... that makes you a shit poster who doesn't try to help themselves.." and "try to provide value in this place, it maybe that you cant so you don't deserve any merits..."? Can't we just spread the love and not hateful comments?

397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There are some apps that can help you earn Bitcoin. Have you heard about it? on: January 26, 2018, 10:00:38 AM
As I told on the subject, there are some apps that help us earn Bitcoin such as Experty, its really a good apps. Have you heard about it, bros?
Aren't these things usually scams? Since mining, investing, and doing bounties are the only legitimate way to earn bitcoins.

I have tried doing faucets, actually we're a group of friends. At first we were happy we won't do a thing yet we'll earn. I know it's too good to he true but we believed. After quite some time, at the required accumulation we'll cash out what we've earned. But it said that we need membership to cash out, we need to to pay to cash out. Shame.
398  Other / Meta / Re: People might sell they're merit points. on: January 26, 2018, 07:25:09 AM
Hello guys i saw some newbie has a merit points haha.what do you think?they buy it or not?because anyone who had merit points can be transfer to other people or sell them to other people.
Or maybe, just maybe. It is an alternate account, a new one i guess. And the high ranked member just tried to merit his newbie rank for experimenting purpose. Let's not jump on conclusions that newbies would buy merits. It is pretty illogical, newbies would buy merits for? They need merit as a jr and that's a pretty long way to go.

But supposed that the newbie bought the merit, wouldn't someone or anyone notice it? If it's a crappy post and he got a merit then the one who gave the point(high ranked account) will be held responsible right? Perma-ban of your high ranked account for some silly merit, what a waste.
399  Other / Meta / Re: Seriously bitcointalk, why this merit point system ??? on: January 26, 2018, 02:03:38 AM
I see the points of this post and to some, I agree. It will be difficult for low-ranked members to level up since the merit point requirement is too big. Most are just mediocre members here. The new merit system won't be friendly for newbies since they won't be able to post quality comments because they still lack knowledge. Hence, they will have a hard time earning it. I also yearn being high-ranked someday but I guess that will be hard to achieve now. Not all my posts will be given merit because hundreds and thousands of posts here might be more valuable than mine. But this system may really help reduce spammers, it's just that it won't be friendly to the majority of the people who are just starting off.
Well said bro. I have the same thing in my mind. But how do i rank up if i don't know anyone here? Would somebody give my post a merit? I don't think so, although i try my best to give a quality post, i can't reckon that somebody in this huge forum will notice my posts unless he's someone i know. I think for the most part, ranking up would be hard since we, the low ranks, are unnoticeable unlike high ranks.
400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gambling as investment? on: January 25, 2018, 10:56:29 PM
So here I have a friend who's inviting me here on the said gambling investment. It's just simple, you'll send your bitcoin (investment on any amount) on that person then he's going to play using the money collected. After 7 days,  your investment will be doubled and the money will be sent back to you after deducting the trans fee. There is a chance of losing but if your money loses, you'll. Be given a 10% refund.

Someone already tried this? Safe or not??
All types of gambling is not safe. I suggest, if you really want to try gambling investment, try to come with your friend beforehand and study how their gambling works, what type of gambling will occur. See if you think that it's an easy money for your supposed friend, if it is and if he really is your friend that you can trust with all your heart then go for it. But if not, you better prepare yourself, congratulations you got yourself a fake friend.
