1081  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER ASIC FPGA miner monitoring RPC linux/win/osx/mips/arm/r-pi 3.10.0 on: January 21, 2014, 09:42:33 AM
Turns out that 3.10.0 is crashing on the nanofury after a random period of time. Even on a separate linux box with nothing else connected.

I'm seeing the same.  2xNanofury and 1xBitburner Fury.  cgminer 3.10.0 just quits at random intervals.  Running on Debian Wheezy on BeagleBone Black, and same issue on Debian Wheezy on PC.  cgminer runs for days on the same machine when not running the Nanofurys.

You see this comment earlier: ?

There's a bug in the 3.10.0 release that crashes when a device is (effectively) unplugged that was fixed immediately after in git, so grab a git tarball from master or build from git.

Yes, I did thanks.  I'd recompiled from a fresh git clone.

But, all that said, it looks like it might be an issue with BTCGuild.  cgminer only crashes when it's connecting to Guild, it's perfect on 3 other pools.   Problem has been reported on BTCGuild thread.
1082  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3600 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+Orphan+NMC, Stratum, Private Servers on: January 21, 2014, 09:30:22 AM
cgminer is still crashing on me too.  Now as soon as it connects to BTCGuild it segfaults.  Same instance of cgminer has been running on Eligius perfectly for 24 hours.  I've also tried it on p2pool, and also on ghash.io.  It's ONLY BTCGuild that makes cgminer crash out instantly.  bfgminer on the same machine connects perfectly to all pools.

NOTHING has changed in my setup, as the machine wasn't plugged in for a few days, and was working perfectly before.
1083  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3600 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+Orphan+NMC, Stratum, Private Servers on: January 20, 2014, 09:03:33 PM

Trying to get a working version of cgminer 3.10 working, but since cgminer likes to fuck with drivers and make itself incompatible with bfgminer it's taking a long time.  I'm not seeing anybody else complaining about a similar issue though...I'm still thinking it's a config problem.

Absolutely nothing has changed on the validation server in the last week.  Any connection attempts have been connecting to the validation server all week.  Additionally, the communication between the server and client is identical to what it used to be.

No problems, just reporting a possible issue.  I'm chasing the issue over on the cgminer thread as well.  If I'm any the wiser I'll come back to you, but I thought I'd forewarn in case somethings up.

It's mining away like a champ on Eligius, as soon as I flip to BTCGuild it takes a few shares then quits.  If I change priority to BTCGuild and start cgminer it just quits at startup.

Anyone else noticing cgminer 3.10.0 crashing when connecting to BTCGuild?  Runs fine on Eligius and p2pool, but as soon as it connects to Guild it just quits.

It's self-compiled on Debian, running 2x Nanofury and 1x Bitburner Fury.

My guess is you messed up your argument on the worker name/port or something similar.  Works fine on bfgminer 3.9 and 3.10 here.

It gets a few shares then craps out.  cgminer.conf hasn't changed in....oh...about 3 months. It's CGminer, not bfgminer, too (only using cg because bfg doesn't support the Bitburner). So, I think your guess is wrong.

I'm pointing out the issue in case it's something with the new servers?  Nothing's changed here.

Anyone know what causes this or who I can fix it?  Thanks,

Kevin

Go back to a real pool.  Eligius is running fine, just the stats pages are a bit wonky.  BTCGuild is another option.
1088  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: January 20, 2014, 11:37:30 AM

Reading up on that board, is the 2gig MMC big enough to support the Archlinux install with Minepeon. or will it be running from the SD slot?

Loads of space, I'm running Debian on my BBB, with several versions of cgminer and bfgminer on there, python, stratum_proxy, node.js, miner dashboard, hidapi, all the random packages for compiling, Apache, and there's still 600MB free on the eMMC.
1089  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Any info available about Discus Fish ? on: January 20, 2014, 08:28:56 AM

Is DF a private pool or a public one ?
There is any info about the pool fee or how to join DF ?

It's a private pool, in that it's in China.

You can probably join the pool if you move to China, become a Chinese citizen, and start a mining business.

Since it already *has* the data, this shouldn't take too much longer (just a lot of HDD thrashing).

wizkid057 discovered yesterday that SSD is your friend.  1.2GB/s he was reporting.

Purgenum on the sweet ! Any game with purses strain, problems with the statistics and the more payments, am I right ? So ghash also stop working... nothing to tell, jumped to eclipse...

I think I must be one of the three payouts that failed, I did a manual payout a number of hours ago and nothing's appeared. Smiley

Yeah, manual payouts are the only ones that got stuck so far, I've yet to encounter a single auto payout that got stuck.  Which makes sense, because manual payouts use full 8 decimals for precision, leading to a *lot* more work being done by bitcoind in order to pick which inputs to use.

Roger.  No big fuss, I was just tidying up, I'm not waiting on the payout. Cheesy

Huh Just got the new version on cgminer (3.10.0) and I currently run 3 BFL jalapenos. I finally figured out how to get it to recognize the 3 jalapenos(old version I had used --disable-gpu, but now I have to use --usb :3), If there is another way like the old please let me know. Now my problem is that I can not figure out how to set the Intensity like I could in the old cgminer using --intensity d. Please help. Thanks in advance.
You can't set intensity because there's no GPU mining in 3.10.
So how can I mine with GPUs now? Is it just CPU?

Use the old version which did GPU mine (3.7.2 I think it was), or use bfgminer which still does GPU mining.  Your choice.

Would it help if everybody moved temporarily to another pool until everything is sorted out?

Don't have a choice currently, my miners have failed over.  Eligius is down for the first time since I started mining on it back in March 2013 (apart from a few seconds here and there).

If you need any help getting larger servers for the web servers, let me know. I'd be happy to purchase the servers and donate them to eligius.

But it's a scam!!!   Tongue

Good on you gigavps - nice to see this community pulling (pooling?) together.

I'll also be cranking up my donation percentage when things get back and running. Smiley

I will personally pay you out of pocket.

There's probably nothing to pay - if he mines at all, it's probably with 1 Block Erupter and the 'GPU' in his Celeron laptop.

Yep, I'm seeing 0.1BTC in the queue, which is about right.

NO ONE HYIP START PAY AGAIN !!!

I don't know what HYIP is?  Huh

How do I tell cgminer to ignore all devices that aren't running on WinUSB?

My Bitburners are running on cgminer and Antminers on bfgminer, but cgminer is spamming the "Install WinUSB" error constantly.

The device I'm using identifies itself as BBF, and if I use the --usb BBF:0 command it doesn't help (drive not recognised or somesuch).

Any clues?
