2402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum, Ripple or Litecoin? on: June 15, 2018, 11:12:02 AM
I don't like Ripple. If I personally I would choose litecoin compared to ripple and ethereum, because I think litecoin will be more profitable if we invest for the long term, because I believe the price of litecoins will soon be able to beat ethereum and can even replace ethereum in coinmarketcap rankings.

So you're religious and base all your investments on your beliefs instead on research and thinking?

(3,6 mil/10000)*0,05=18 dolara u trenutnoj vrijednosti.

Is Ripple XRP the Real Ethereum Killer? Smart Contract Codius Relaunched by Ripple XRP.

https://coindelite.com/news/ripple-xrp-relaunches-smart-contract-codius/

No, certainly not! Ripple will not kill Ethereum or any other cryptocurrency. By the way, Waves also uses smart contracts but I do not remember that this cryptocurrency was once called a killer of ETH.

because waves was called ethereum killer more than once? Need links as proof?

Sold some at 306, now getting back in at 224, would have been better yesterday but still alright. Always been hodling some SIA tho, never sold full stack.

Are the bulls returning now?

I dont think so.. its just a panic pump for Binance listing and may get back to 200 or even lower satoshi after it opens for trade in Binance.

"panic pump" sounds so oxymoronous Smiley

I don't get it...ASICs just kicked GPUs out of business, but didn't rise the number of coins mined,
thats more or less fixed number

my obelisk sc-1 is under water for mining sia-coin as it sits now ...and no shipping till middle of July 2018...thus

probably will stay in the box. Not a good start for their decentralized storage plans

So, what we learned here? Never plan too much ahead in crypto business?  Grin
I didn't follow Obelish since bitmain came out with their miner, whats situation atm?
2413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Custom RAM Timings for GPU's with GDDR5 - DOWNLOAD LINKS - UPDATED on: June 13, 2018, 08:51:25 AM
Hi guys, started doing my homework and ingested alot of info from this forum and the Jedec Documents but need some professional help.
I have an 11 Rx 560 2gb since last January, i notice in bulk they are much more power efficient than 580/570 mainly in cryptonight.
Started by 2X Gigabyte one 6 pin powered and one not, sarcastically, BOTH clocked 2025+ with the Elpida Strap, they steadily do 540 h/s in CN V7 or old CN then bought many others, ALL of the others had a different Elpida batch "i.e lower bandwidth ones clocked at 1750, near thier maximum from the factory" thus, ALL of them can never go above 1900 Mhz memory giving ~500 h/s (one click elpida strap is good on low memory speeds)
FYI, many Elpidas BABG/Hynix AJR are of lower grade although they share the same name in software/bios (micron 4gb though, does have 1500mhz variants ending with "-60", which is at least honest).
Last GPUs i got were quite rare, Sapphire 2gb "6 pin powered" all of them Hynix AJR, these were a real disappointment, with one click strap they do 1850-1900 Mhz maximum, compared to my 5x 580/570 with a hynix AJR (clocking between 2025-2175) its Obvious here, that no silicon lottery here, thats only lower bandwidth stock Hynix AJR.

I now need help with:

*In general for all memory types except samsung  Cryptonight, is RRD=6 (5 being extreme?), Zeroing tFAW and t32AW of any worthiness or impact? what should i increase and which should i relax?

*trying to do a custom strap for Hynix AJR lower bandwidth for ~ 2000 mhz cryptonight.
I started with the one click strap, relaxing CAS latency, dropping the ACTRD back to 1625mhz strap levels and as much as i can try to keep TRFC and TRC within thier values, Relaxing TRCDR/A to 1625ish levels and decreasing TRCDW/A.
Do you think this is the right path for tweaking for cryptonight? I surely have to experiment, but my first experiment so far was wierd Smiley hash rate dropped, also i noticed some straps having RASMACTRD/RASMACTWR substantially relaxed. quite confusing here.

*Last, On higher quality elpidas, One click strap, nothing above 540 h/s is achievable, ~1975 mhz almost being the limit (well even on 1900mhz, it does 505 h/s) how/what path can i take to customize the strap for ~2050 mhz point.
P.S: 16 CU are alot/ increasing gpu frequency above 1150 mhz, yields no improvement whatsoever, so its not a compute limit issue, obviuolsly strap issue.
Anyway, appreciate any hints.
Edit:Forgot to add that I'm using (actually, not touching) the 1625mhz strap "learning?" parameters
MC_SEQ_MISC1 0x20140475
MC_SEQ_MISC3 0xA000896A
MC_SEQ_MISC8 0x20310002

Actually, all manufacturers have some method of marking chip frequency grades...for micron, its -60, -70 and -80 for 1500, 1750 and 2000MHz parts, for Hynix its R0, R2 and R4 for the same

I wrote about that quite a while ago

2414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Custom RAM Timings for GPU's with GDDR5 - DOWNLOAD LINKS - UPDATED on: June 13, 2018, 08:42:14 AM
I'm pretty new to this thread and although i've tried to do my homework, i can't seem to figure out if this hex method is more efficient than simply using the Polaris BIOS Editor (PBE) to mod my AMD RX series GPUs. Is there some sort of benefit to using this over the PBE, like will i be able to find more optimized timing straps leading to better mining efficiency?

Any inputs would be appreciated. Thank you.

Probably not...PBE one click timings are in fact final result of hard work of people in this thread...you can get slightly better results
if you REALLY know what you're doing (that means detailed knowledge about ram timings and also detailed knowledge about
every crypto algorithm you plan to use)
2415  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Rudarenje - da/ne/mozda on: June 13, 2018, 07:34:10 AM
Jedno pitanje za rudare... Prošli petak mi je izgorio router uslijed udara groma i bio sam 4 dana bez Interneta, a time i bez zarade rudarenjem. Zbog toga sam odlučio prijeći na Tele2 pokućni internet. Jučer sam kupio TP-Link M7350 mobilni 4G router i Tele2 data karticu.

Probaj staviti i zadnji firmware

True but the trade off is that he wont have to manage all of that data, back it up and maintain uptime...

Kind of like renting a home is normally more expensive than just paying a mortgage but a lot of people rent to avoid the hassle, cost and commitment of ownership Smiley

I'd accept that hassle instead paying $1500 annually for 1TB, though Smiley
2417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: June 12, 2018, 08:32:30 PM
If I host say 1tb of my hard drive to this coin, how much can that bring me? I have plenty of storage that I can keep open 24/7
Has mining with HDD are more profitable than mining with ASIC or GPUs?
Highly appreciate your hints because I have never mining with HDDs.

Depends...it uses less electricity, but for any noticeable gains you need 100TB or more, and 99.9% uptime or better

This calculator:

https://siasetup.info/tools/renting_calculator

estimates that renting 100TB over period of 12 months will get you around $1500

Man, that's a lot of hard drive space. I was hoping to make something like that with 1tb.

Think about it...why would someone rent your 1TB for a price 30 times bigger than you pay for disk? He could just go out and buy 100 disks
for the price he'd pay you over the 3 years and have all the redundancy and much more space Smiley
2418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ripple ever reach $5 ? on: June 12, 2018, 07:16:04 PM
Only the dumbest arse in the universe will believe something with 2% yearly inflation will compete with the bitcoin's deflation system, long term.
Even now the xrp junk can not keep pace even with coin release restrict massively. Ripple's real good stuff can be found in signature.

is floundering and could be out of money by early next year, according to two former employees of the company."

LOL
2419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ripple ever reach $5 ? on: June 12, 2018, 06:18:46 PM
I personally don't believe in such possibility. XRP is not liked by community as I see, this coin was also strongly pumped, that's not good for it too as well.

Its January maximum was a bit more than 3 dollars, and during that time, Bitcoin was close to 20 thousand. I doubt very much that this situation can happen very soon. Probably, Ripple might cost 1-2 USD.

So you suggest once XRP disconnects from BTC, it'll rise freely and be $10+ even if BTC drops to $5000?
2420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ripple ever reach $5 ? on: June 12, 2018, 04:22:49 PM
Funny, I thought that 1$ was a local bottom and bought at that price Grin. Now I'll glad to see the same price to get rid of this pseudocryptocoin.

Yes, you should buy BTC when it was $20 000, you would definitely feel better now
