1441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I see no difference between Elon Musk and McAfee on: May 14, 2021, 07:43:48 PM
I smell another John McAfee parody with this meme coin and Elon musk chilling all other the internet, the guy will end up losing his respect and people who aren't wise at making decisions will end up hating him, John McAfee used to chill crypto projects forcing the unknown to rush and buy well Elon Musk is the John McAfee Part 2
I don't think Elon Musk can be compared to John McAfee. They are completely different people and they also performed different actions in relation to cryptocurrency. John McAfee earned in dishonest ways on cryptocurrency. In relation to Elon Musk, one cannot say that he uses dishonest methods, and also that he commits his actions for the purpose of earning money. Elon Musk does not even directly advertise cryptocurrency and does not encourage anyone to buy Bitcoin or Doge. He also has the right to decide whether or not to accept bitcoins as payment for Tesla cars, and we cannot blame him for that.
1442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if Elon musk launches his own coin? on: May 14, 2021, 07:16:45 PM
The name and personality of Elon musk has been trending lately, for good and bad reasons. Some blame him for the recent down in price of btc with his recent tweet, some suspect that he has a plan to manipulate the market to the favour of doge coin which he has recently been a strong advocate for.

What if Elon musk takes this opportunity of popularity and influence to start and launch his own coin to the market?

Do you think an altcoin created by Elon musk will do well in the market?
Ilona Mask has good opportunities for creating cryptocurrency. Create simply a coin so that it performs the usual feature of the payment tool, it is not worth it. This will be another ordinary coin that will differ from many similar only to what will use the name of Ilona Mask. Since he is developing space and has an intention in the near future to colonize the planet Mars, he can think about how to create money for Mars to create money for Mars or creating cryptocurrency for specific global neighboring projects. This actually should be a commercial project and means there must be huge. Investors could be the co-owners of this project on the principle of securities. This is if Ilon Mask needs to finance certain global projects. Such cryptocurrencies could well have a perspective.
1443  Economy / Economics / Re: A Sudden Price Drop in The Crypto Markets on: May 13, 2021, 07:00:20 PM
A sudden price drop in the crypto markets along with the deepening points loss in the dow jones point to a a slow and steady downward trend as of late. Is the bull run of 2021 over? Are these the marks of the beginning of something much worse to come? A major recession, a new crypto winter? What could possibly be next? Any comments and thoughts are more than welcome.
You can blame Elon Musk for trolling the entire crypto community and the whole market for the sudden crash. He announced that Tesla will no longer accept Bitcoin payments because according to Musk, cryptocurrencies are hurting the environment. Moreover, environmentalists were claiming that Bitcoin mining was taking a large toll on electricity, which is solely based on fossil fuels, especially coal, and were against Tesla's option to receive Bitcoin payments.

What an irony, the large scale of battery production isn't that environmentally friendly either, but no one is commenting on that.
This is indeed the case. It seems that this time Elon Musk provoked a general decline in the cryptocurrency market with this statement. Usually, such negative news affects the market for several days, after which the cryptocurrency recovers in price. Prices are already starting to rise, but there is great volatility. I see that even the price of some tokens is jumping like crazy. I think that soon everything will return to normal and the market will continue to grow.
1444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Convert tokens to prominent currencies than holding them forever on: May 13, 2021, 04:46:23 PM
If your token is 30c a piece at $400 eth price then convert that to ether asap. Ether has more chance to rise in future than your random shit coin. Ok, it might not go dead but it would stay at same usd price or few x in usd while multiple times low in ethereum denomination because ether has rose a lot.

If that makes sense?

I agree that now is a good way to save and multiply our profits. If the project is not much encouraging in terms of growth, then it is better to exchange it to the Ethereum to exchange it. This coin should still grow well in price, despite the already decent present price growth.
Those who have experience in the cryptocurrency market since 2017 know that the tokens not sold at that time almost all then fell in price by 90-95 percent and only some managed to rise. Therefore, we must leave the most promising tokens, the remaining funds are better to invest in top coins. True, the situation in the cryptocurrency market continues to change, and the fact that previously was relevant, with time it can lose its relevance. It also needs to be considered.
1445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla no longer accepts Bitcoin payments on: May 13, 2021, 10:10:38 AM
He stated that it was especially due to high use of fossil fuels for Bitcoin mining. I can't believe he gives that as the main reason. It is not a problem that can't be solved. Miners can use renewable energy and it is done. I sometimes really don't understand what he is up to.
I agree that Elon Musk's excuse sounds kind of strange and without proper justification for making such a decision. As if he did not know before that bitcoin is mined and how it is done in practice. Moreover, there is hardly any statistics showing what percentage of bitcoins is mined using hydrocarbon fuels. In any case, his actions are contradictory and rash, and this does not correspond to his status as the owner of the world company SpaceX and the richest man.
1446  Economy / Speculation / Re: Would it be foolish to take out a crypto loan at this stage of the bull market? on: May 13, 2021, 09:25:02 AM
So i decided to take a 5000 dollar loan out at celsius wallet instead of 15000, it just works better for me 15000 was being a little too ambitious i think now in hindsight i am comfortable with 5000 instead. Yes its for 1 year at 1 percent so the interest will be very mininmal at 50 dollars for the entire year which works out to about  4, 70 a month and thats fine by me. Celsius has a clause were you dont have to wait until your contract is up to pay the principal back you can pay it earlier if you want to. Should things go south drastically i do have emergency back up funds to bail me out so thats pretty good too. All in all i feel pretty good about this transaction but now what left for me to decide is where to invest this 5000. i have a few coins i am thinking about and i decided against going all in on bitcoin. the coins iam looking at are ethereum, ada, and chainlink. i thought about going all in on ethereum to regain the full ethereum coin i had but sold earlier this year or spliting it up amongst the three, what do you guys think i should do thanks
In general, I am fundamentally opposed to the use of loans and credits, but if in this case there is a loan at one percent per year, then these are good conditions. Moreover, you are not going to invest these funds in bitcoin, which has already increased in price too much and is now really a risky investment.
Now is still a good time to buy ethereum. I would invest all my money in this coin. The ethereum network is successfully renewing, in July and October there will be more update stages and after that this coin should still rise in price well. However, of course, there is always a risk, since the cryptocurrency market is very unpredictable in its price movements.
1447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum on the rise: Sell or HODL? on: May 12, 2021, 07:10:58 PM
The answer will behold. The amount of ETH being withdrawn from exchanges increases. DEFI is making ETH more scarce. If ETH completely moves from POW to POS, it will need ETH to be included in the nodes. So ETH will be more scarce in the future. I think ETH will continue to increase in price until about $ 10,000 according to the traders' prediction
I am also of the opinion that ethereum will go up a lot this year and even the $ 10,000 price may not be the limit by the end of the year. I think that, if possible, this coin should be kept and partially changed only within the limits, if we are in dire need of money. It is also advisable to make a certain reserve in case this coin, for some reason, suddenly drops in price for some time. In general, I am going to hold ethereum for a long time, it is even possible that the hold will not be limited to this year. However, plans may change as the market situation changes.
1448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ETH surge to $6K this week? on: May 12, 2021, 12:56:16 PM
I don't think so, you know btc price have been moving in zig zag recently and that more or less affect ETH everytime btc gets dumped ETH also getting dumped as well although ETH could somehow goes against BTC's market movement sometime but it's very possible to go that high within this month, but just wait until july when the gas said to be resolved by the developer, that's gonna explode since eth gonna be "usable" again for bigger amount of users. The current ETH isn't habitable for people with money below thousand of dollars so just wait.
but suddenly pumps this week that could happen for sure!.
Nevertheless, whales are already buying ethereum in large quantities, and in this regard, this coin continues to grow in value. This growth is also facilitated by the approaching next stages of its renewal. Ethereum is unlikely to rise to $ 6,000 within a week, but after the successful implementation of EIP1559, this is likely.
In this case, ethereum may well surpass the $ 10,000 mark by the end of the year. There are even forecasts that this coin can bypass the level of capitalization and bitcoin.
1449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Eth 2.0 Impact on Eth on: May 12, 2021, 12:35:47 PM
No. Ethereum 2.0 is a development to support ethereum. I don't think it will hurt. On the contrary, the price of ethereum will increase in my opinion, as it is a development that will help reduce the excessive wages.
Renowned trader Ben Armstrong predicts an increase in the ethereum price by mid-June to $ 5,000, by the end of August to $ 10,000 and by the end of the year to $ 27,000. At the same time, he said that he would shave his head if the price of ethereum by the end of the year does not reach $ 10,000. Of course, this is a less traumatic promise than the famous promise of John McAfee that the price of bitcoin will rise to a million dollars, but Ben Armstrong's hair seems to be very dear to him.
Well, $ 27,000 ethereum may not reach $ 10,000 by the end of this year, however, I hope it can go up to $ 10,000.

1450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I Predict $20,000 for dogecoin in 5years time on: May 12, 2021, 11:53:34 AM
$1 for Doge is easily possible in this market. It is already at $0.50 and has held its fourth and on coinmarketcap despite undergoing a big correction. However, some new dog meme coins are there to compete with it.
Now Doge can and will rise in price up to one dollar. However, after five years, I'm not even sure that such a token will exist. However, if it does, then with a minimum price. Its current half dollar price will probably be too high in five years.
Not all useful cryptocurrencies will survive five years from now. The hype around this token will soon end and it will simply become useless.
1451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: All in ETH now? on: May 12, 2021, 06:46:07 AM
In my opinion this is not the right time to buy Ethereum, Ethereum is at its highest price right now. If you want to invest, I think it is too late. People who have already invest on Ethereum would be so happy because the way Ethereum price was increasing is so significant.
The ethereum network update is just beginning to show its first practical results. Its update stages will take place in July and October. Therefore, the growth of this coin is still ahead. It is no coincidence that whales are now being purchased with this coin. The ethereum price has already reached $ 4,320. It is predicted that within a month ethereum may rise in price to $ 5,000, by the end of summer to $ 10,000, and by the end of this year to $ 27,000.
Therefore, it is not too late to invest in ethereum.
1452  Economy / Economics / Re: Could science fiction based carbon coins save our planet on: May 11, 2021, 02:04:01 PM
Sounds like a great idea, but the execution will be most likely bad.
Creating a centralized shitcoin with big supply(which means low value) can't solve the problem.
What if some companies try to fake their carbon emissions, just for the sake of getting such carbon coins for free?Such system will be exploited pretty easily. On the other hand, the level of control and bureaucracy that would be required to prevent scams will make the system really expensive.
As far as I know, each state has quotas for hydrocarbon emissions and if it emits less of them into the atmosphere, then it receives currency from the relevant international organizations. A state can also sell its emission quota or part of it to another state. Thus, there is a stimulation of lower emissions of harmful gases into the atmosphere. I do not see any particular need to implement here as a payment for such savings with cryptocurrency, however, I do not mind either. This will depend on the wishes of the states themselves.
1453  Economy / Economics / Re: people stop complain about economy and ccovid on: May 11, 2021, 01:33:43 PM
The reason why most of peoples are complaing because they just depressed because of this pandemic.

So we can keep seeing people complaining about this "Covid" and especially for poor people's who don't know how to eat tomorrow.

If people stop complaining about a bad life, then it either began to improve, or they are simply tired of complaining and they have resigned themselves to a desperate situation. It can hardly be said that the economic situation in the world has begun to improve and that people's lives are getting better. Most likely, people are beginning to get used to this state.
At the same time, every cloud has a silver lining. Many people pay attention to cryptocurrency, try to make money in it, and therefore it is growing in popularity.
1454  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-05-08] Bitcoin’s dirty little secret: It’s not easy being green on: May 11, 2021, 12:42:03 PM
The green brainwashing propaganda is becoming harder and harder to fight. We should not be using any form of energy as across the whole value chain our carbon footprint is massive. So what?
Miners are free to choose whichever energy they want to use and those power plants are NOT intended for bitcoin mining only.
Go blame China, Australia (73% coal!!!), US etc. and all the other coal-dependent energy users.
https://bettermeetsreality.com/energy-sources-energy-mix-by-country-where-major-countries-in-the-world-get-their-energy-from/
It's right. If power plants on coal, fuel oil, and so on continue to operate, then the consumers of such energy will in any case, and one should not blame the consumers, but the organizers of such uneconomical energy production, which brings great benefits to the environment. And the organizers are the states and their governments, which raise a false problem with the extraction of cryptocurrency.
Now many states are planning to gradually abandon coal, gas and oil as direct sources of energy and to introduce renewable energy sources as quickly as possible, and above all solar and wind. Therefore, I see no reason for this panic.
1455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All of a sudden they want to join crypto. on: May 11, 2021, 12:02:36 PM
in the past many people of all professions were not very sure about the future of cryptocurrencies, and there were even quite a few negative comments against people who had invested in cryptocurrencies, but over time it turned out that cryptocurrencies were running on good rails, so people  who used to be pessimists are now very confident, hopefully we can enjoy success together in the crypto market.
It's quite normal. Cryptocurrency is very different from other financial assets and therefore many did not believe in its vitality. However, the years go by, and the cryptocurrency is growing and more and more states and their governments began to pay attention to it, and also began to reckon with it. Therefore, it is not surprising that even many skeptics are now already trying to enter the world of cryptocurrency. Do not hinder them and reproach them.
1456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mark Zuckerberg named his goat Bitcoin on: May 11, 2021, 11:20:32 AM
I think it's Mark Zuckerberg's right to name what his pet is, it's Mark's heart. And I don't think it will change anything for the bitcoin price, it's purely for entertainment

but I have a question:

why didn’t he name facebook and Libra?

he is jealous that bitcoin got what he tried and didn't get when he created Libra. he should be a less envious person and he should also be a sensible person. make fun like that Is something bad even for him
At first I thought that he had already named his long-issued stablecoin, which was first supposed to be released under the name Libra, then Diem, and now it is generally unknown with what name, because, as it turned out, there is a cryptocurrency company in England that already long ago released its token with the name Diem. Zuckerberg postponed the next issue of this stable coin to January of next year, however, it is not known how the problem with the double was solved.
I'm actually surprised that Zuckerberg also has goats.
1457  Economy / Economics / Re: SEC Chair Says a Lot of Crypto Tokens Are Securities on: May 10, 2021, 03:58:10 PM
Gary Gensler, the newly appointed chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission, told Squawk Box on Friday that "many" cryptocurrencies are originally securities:
"As long as an asset class is classified as a security, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has a lot of authority over it. "A lot of cryptocurrencies, which I don't think should be called that, are actually securities."
In 2018, Gansler stated that Ethereum and Ripple could fall within the scope of defining unregistered securities.
He went on to describe Bitcoin as the market's largest cryptocurrency, describing it as a source of storing digital value and, of course, "very unstable." He acknowledged that bitcoin is not in the category of securities.
In the interview, Gensler was also asked about the upcoming Saturday Night Live show hosted by Elon Musk. He replied that he had no advice for the people participating in the show.
Dogefather, who has previously had problems with the SEC, is expected to talk about Dogecoin on the show.

Source: https://u.today/sec-chair-says-a-lot-of-crypto-tokens-are-securities-calls-bitcoin-store-of-value
It is necessary that the SEC does not establish the belonging of the cryptocurrency to a certain class of financial assets, but a full-fledged law was adopted that would unbiasedly solve all the current problems with the cryptocurrency. Of great importance in this matter will be the result of the consideration by the court of the SEC's claim against Ripple Labs and its two executives regarding ripple's ownership of securities. If the legislators are still silent, it is possible that at least the courts will be able to make a fair decision on this issue and reduce the enthusiasm of the SEC employees.
1458  Economy / Economics / Re: Year 2021-2022 will be very Good and very Bad. on: May 10, 2021, 03:37:05 PM
This year has been very different, a lot of people experienced a lot of difference ever since the sudden rise of bitcoin kept on occuring and as it experienced consecutive new ATH's. This year have been very confusing and if people wouldn't be able to figure out what is the right thing to do, they would be very troubled for sure. The year 2021 might either bring a lot of surprises positively or negatively so it would be best if you would keep an eye on the price movement for now so that you can make the most of your investments.
In any case, the first half of this year will go down in history as the best time period for cryptocurrency and participants in this market. I don't think the other half will be too bad. The fall of the cryptocurrency market after such a rapid growth will still happen sometime, and therefore we must take appropriate measures to partially fix our profits and be prepared for such a turn of events.
What the next year, 2022, will be, we do not know yet. By that time, there will be many different events and it will largely depend on how we can see the cryptocurrency market in the next year.
1459  Economy / Economics / Re: If we have crypto Why people still buy stocks? on: May 10, 2021, 03:12:41 PM
Why people still buy stocks?
If with crypto much bigger profits *
3% daily gain is nothing If you can get 100% profit with Good coins pump.
How the Hell people Even get rich with stocks with so small profits?

People will work and make a profit where they are used to and what they know about. If they have been working in the stock and securities market for years, it is difficult for them to leave their usual job and move to a market that works a little differently and which is still very weakly regulated by states. It is not so easy to work in the cryptocurrency market, moreover, it is rather difficult to predict. Therefore, for me everything is clear here. The cryptocurrency market is a relatively new market, and finance doesn't like rush.
1460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin season ending in may ? on: May 10, 2021, 02:24:46 PM
Dear all

Now alt season started. Lot of coins specially 2018 ath coins now going for new ath. You can see xrp is moving like roket.

2018 how long alt season survived ?

I am currently holding aion coin. Its really blulish at the momement.

Experiemce tell me , when this alt season going to over  may or june ?

I hope not, there is no real reason why the party should end so soon. Stocks are still booming at the moment, maybe they can give another boost to cryptos. There is a saying for stocks that how May will perform, so will the rest of the year. June, July and August are usually the quite summer months. But maybe in autumn everything can pick up again. Going to keep holding my coins, no point in selling yet.
It seems that in May, and possibly June, the cryptocurrency market will grow, and if there is no high growth rate in bitcoin, then we will see a good growth in altcoins. After that, the second half of the summer usually brings calm in all markets and business activity dies out. I agree that in the fall we can expect an even stronger growth of the cryptocurrency than even now. Unless, of course, there is negative news information. Especially I expect the popularity and price of ethereum to rise in autumn. After renewal phases in July and October, this coin should still perform well in the fall.
