2341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DID I MAKE A MISTAKE INVESTING IN BITCOIN? on: October 02, 2019, 03:50:27 AM
Perhaps, from the point of view of the current situation, this seems to be a mistake for you. However, a certain time will pass and you will definitely change your mind about the advisability of investing your funds in bitcoin. It was estimated that since the appearance of bitcoin in January 2009, bitcoin has been profitable for investing in 98.2 percent of cases. So your investment should be profitable over time. You only need to be able to wait for your time.
2342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency to be used in Money laundering and Terrorism? on: October 01, 2019, 06:41:01 PM
According to the world survey: https://www.loc.gov/law/help/cryptocurrency/world-survey.php

Many of the warnings issued by various countries also note the opportunities that cryptocurrencies create for illegal activities, such as money laundering and terrorism.  Some of the countries surveyed go beyond simply warning the public and have expanded their laws on money laundering, counterterrorism, and organized crimes to include cryptocurrency markets, and require banks and other financial institutions that facilitate such markets to conduct all the due diligence requirements imposed under such laws.  For instance, Australia, Canada, and the Isle of Man recently enacted laws to bring cryptocurrency transactions and institutions that facilitate them under the ambit of money laundering and counter-terrorist financing laws. This is one of the reasons why government will not take the risk on accepting cryptocurrency as global money.
What is being invested in the concept of global money is completely unclear to me. In any case, no state would ever switch to using only cryptocurrency. Each state will always use its national money and along with them will allow the circulation of cryptocurrency, however, it will not actively support it.
A decentralized cryptocurrency for circulation within each state will necessarily be subject to regulation, including with the aim of combating the laundering of dirty money and the financing of terrorism. Therefore, the FATF already on June 21 announced its recommendations on this matter and more than 200 states are obliged to introduce them into their national legislation throughout the year.
2343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Brandt: 99% of Altcoins Will Be Forgotten in Five Years on: October 01, 2019, 06:23:27 PM
It must be true, think about altcoins we have. Think about how many altcoins we had in the past. Do you remember all of it? Many of them now do not exist because they have been replaced by better and more innovative ones and this will be repeated over and over.
Many altcoins were created for a certain type of business and if this business is still working, and even more so developing, then the token will exist for a very long time. Even if there is a need to replace an outdated token, then they will simply send new tokens to the wallets of the holders of the old tokens.
I do not think that in five years almost all current tokens will disappear. Of course, this process will constantly occur, but the figure of 99 percent is too high.
2344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: September 30, 2019, 05:21:35 PM
So many years past but still we don't have a clue about who/what Satoshi Nakomoto is. We aren't even sure that Satoshi Nakamoto is a person or a symbolic name of a group but I believe that we will eventually find out who/what Satoshi is.
No, it is most likely that we will never know who was hiding behind the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto.
Almost eleven years have passed since bitcoin was created and every year the chances of establishing its identity all fall. The main thing is that the person who used this pseudonym wants it.
Cryptocurrency and its holders, in my opinion, will be better if in the future no one can claim a patent for the creation of bitcoin.
2345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we ready for another price bump? Reminder for the shortsighted people. :-> on: September 30, 2019, 04:56:33 PM
The cryptocurrency market usually grows in price in the last quarter of the year. We are just approaching this period of time. Therefore, bitcoin can still drop in price, and then, after some are sold and others are bought up at a cheap price, then bitcoin can even go up to even 15,000 - 20,000 dollars. Even if this does not happen at the end of this year, then certainly in the first half of next year.
2346  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Blockchain Replace Banks? on: September 29, 2019, 04:38:27 PM
Neither blockchain as a digital technology, nor cryptocurrency as one of the many products of this technology, can replace banks. Today's banks have a lot of different specific functions, and the blockchain or cryptocurrency has nothing to do with them. Even their usual activities such as legal support of the financial and economic activities of legal entities. Banks issue accounting documents to institutions and enterprises of various forms of ownership, which not only confirm the transfer of money, but also indicate to whom it was transferred, for which payment was made, the number and date of the contract and other information. The blockchain cannot contain this data. However, they are needed for tax authorities and audit.
2347  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin: Best investment in 2017? on: September 29, 2019, 09:17:52 AM
2017 will not be repeated as it was before. Potential investors will already remember that after the rise in price to $ 20,000, bitcoin dropped to $ 6,000, and by the end of the year to $ 3,000. Now they will be afraid to buy bitcoin on the rise, so as not to lose as those who bought bitcoin when it reached its peak of $ 20,000. Those who did this still cannot recover their losses. Therefore, when next time Bitcoin will take off, it is unlikely that such a rise will be long. Maybe because of this, Bitcoin has not risen in price above $ 13,500 at the end of June this year?
2348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Replace Gold! Here's Why... on: September 29, 2019, 07:12:57 AM
Bitcoin and gold are actually opposites in the financial asset class. Bitcoin will never replace gold, because it is not capable of it. People will always prefer tangible gold over virtual numbers. Such is the nature of people. Moreover, this will not happen if natural disasters increase in the world, and during a period of global climate change this is very likely.
2349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine wants to legalize crypto (again) on: September 28, 2019, 05:20:58 PM
Compared to the fact that Ukraine previously proposed to exempt cryptocurrency holders from paying taxes, or to exempt them for a certain number of years, the statement of this minister  is already a step back. Although, you need to look not by intention, but by the final results. Let them adopt specific laws, then what will be discussed.
2350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NASA to Launch Bitcoin to the Moon? on: September 28, 2019, 04:28:58 PM
Even NASA is getting into Bitcoin... by a round-about path.

NASA to Launch Bitcoin to the Moon? Space Agency Seeks Crypto Experience

NASA seems to think so. The U.S. aeronautics agency is looking for a big data scientist and specifically mentions that experience with cryptocurrency and blockchain could help you get the job.

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is a research and development facility located in California which was founded in 1936 and mainly focuses on developing robotic spacecraft for the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The space agency is now looking for a new Data Scientist to join the JPL team and has a surprising point on the list of qualifications for the role. The wanted ad states: "Experience with cryptocurrency and Blockchain is considered a plus."

There is no explanation given as to why experience with cryptocurrency is beneficial for the work at JPL but you can have fun speculating. Maybe NASA is looking for ways to develop a new economy for an independent Mars colony, launch an ICO to fund a moon base, or even find a way to trade with space aliens. It could also just be a way to signal to potential applicants that it is looking for people that really love to dive into deep technological and mathematical concepts.

Cool

It will be funny if Trump bans cryptocurrency at all in the US and all the efforts of NASA will be done in vain. Although I would like to hear an official statement about why the global corporation needs a person with experience in crypto and blockchain, not only assumptions
Therefore, Trump will not ban Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Even before the end of his presidency, he had little left, so he would not do such harsh and stupid things.
As for NASA, they need specialists in various fields, including to protect their digital information. Most of their technical workers are not directly related to space.
2351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will bitcoin be replace by ethereum/ripple on: September 28, 2019, 07:51:06 AM
Bitcoin, most likely, will not be replaced, although it may well in the near future lose its price dominance and cryptocurrency leader status. However, this will not happen as many assume. After Bitcoin, there will no longer be a clear leader; there will be several. Therefore, there will also be no dominance in the price, not a single cryptocurrency will be able to rise as high in the level of capitalization as bitcoin.
From the point of view of cryptocurrency development, it will probably be even better.
2352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BEST DIVIDEND CRYPTO's to invest in... on: September 27, 2019, 05:58:55 AM
It is a great idea to start a thread letting people know what coins can bring them dividends. But I believe people that want to know about this, have already studied all opportunities and know that everything that gives you more than 5-7 percent monthly is a scam.
Yes, high interest as dividends may indicate signs of fraud. However, the Gigajoule campaign, whose signature I am currently wearing, provides for the possibility for holders of their token to receive 15 percent of dividends by paying in ethereum to the wallets of their owners. I consider this to be a quite normal and real amount of dividends.
In general, I think that the future is behind the payment of dividends in cryptocurrency. This is a good incentive to hold tokens, and not a search for the possibility of a good sale, as it all works now.
2353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Government-issued cryptocurrencies...Are they the Future? on: September 27, 2019, 05:12:43 AM
This is not to say that cryptocurrencies issued by the government are the future of these cryptocurrencies. Such cryptocurrencies, as a rule, are stable coins and will simply occupy their niche among all cryptocurrencies. Government cryptocurrencies and decentralized cryptocurrencies are completely different types of cryptocurrencies, however, apparently, all of them will find their place in our lives. The requests of people are different. National currencies in digital form will also be in demand, as they provide users with additional convenience compared to conventional currencies.
2354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2 Years of bear market.. what to expect next on: September 27, 2019, 04:52:43 AM

Expect another years of bear market. That's what you should expect, nothing is making this market at lot easy when regulations are not making easy as well. ITS the opposite of things that are happening. ITs he end of the world as we know it. I'm just go back to farming in my little home town, find my girlfriend with hairy armpit. I expect 10 more years of bear market.  Cheesy
No, we will see a good bull market much earlier - if not at the end of this year, then certainly next year. A bear market cannot last a decade, because during this time people will simply forget about the existence of cryptocurrency. The cryptocurrency market is very dynamic and therefore the situation on it is changing very quickly. What seems completely hopeless today, tomorrow again can radically change for the better. Therefore, do not lose hope. We can see the growth of the cryptocurrency market in the coming months, despite the current fall.
2355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banking system and BTC on: September 26, 2019, 06:39:54 PM
Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency also known as digital currency and It's fully different from other fiat money for it’s activities and volatile system! fiat money is almost stable then bitcoin, also as decentralised money it’s can't control by anyone! so yes it’s can create some threat over fiat money and banking system! but day by day digital world demand online money or crypto currencie.
I don't think bitcoin can make too much impact on fiat money and the banking system because both are active and serving people in two independent areas, there is no conquest or dominion here, we can see that every investor who will choose bitcoin and want to use in life will use fiat money and banking. Bitcoin never takes part in our real life, although the technology may be developing but instability and manipulation are always limited to connecting bitcoin with the community, even the banking system and other services
I completely agree with you. Bitcoin and all other cryptocurrencies will not be able to exert a significant influence on banks, especially not a negative one. In the near future, ordinary money and cryptocurrency should work together and complement each other with their capabilities. People will appreciate the decentralization and anonymity of cryptocurrencies, which will give them a greater degree of financial freedom, but they will also appreciate the convenience when sharing these two types of currencies. However, it must be borne in mind that a decentralized cryptocurrency cannot fully exist without an ordinary currency.
2356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin dominance is actually over 90% on: September 26, 2019, 06:20:54 PM
Now I will not be surprised at anything, although it is difficult to imagine that more than two thousand altcoins accounted for only ten percent of capitalization. Even if you look at the CoinMarketCap table now, the capitalization of bitcoin is now $ 182 billion. The capitalization of ethereum is more than $ 20 billion. This is already more than ten percent of Bitcoin's capitalization. Ripple has a capitalization of more than $ 11 billion. Together, these two coins will already make up more than 15 percent of Bitcoin's capitalization. So the figure of 70 percent of Bitcoin dominance is still more real.
2357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Adopt New coins ? on: September 26, 2019, 05:56:16 PM
Bitcoin, no doubt, needs to be improved. Now, probably, there is no longer a coin or even a token with such low scalability. However, mixing it or merging it with other types of cryptocurrencies is not a way out of this situation. After all, this will not be the same bitcoin anymore. Then they will rightly say that Bitcoin was deliberately destroyed. Original bitcoin must be kept clean. If someone wants to improve bitcoin, they usually make a hard fork with the formation of a new fork detaching from the bitcoin.
2358  Economy / Economics / Re: The New World Order with Crypto and Blockchain Technology on: September 25, 2019, 05:44:10 AM
The economy of a particular state can develop successfully if it uses its national money. So it was before, and so it will continue. The state should protect its economy, and not give it to the mercy of the possible negative influence of other states. If states switch to using cryptocurrencies, they will cease to influence their own economy. Therefore, no state will ever switch only to the use of cryptocurrency. Therefore, there will be no new order with cryptocurrency. The cryptocurrency will go along with the national money of states and will adapt to national money, and not vice versa. States will not be outside observers, they will actively regulate the circulation of cryptocurrencies. There is simply no alternative to this.
2359  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe is against Libra. Who else? on: September 25, 2019, 05:23:41 AM
Such a global stable coin must exist, but it should not be issued by a private campaign, because it will be a very big risk for global financial stability. Then, when something happens with this coin, the states, in order to prevent the development of the crisis, will be forced to support this private can, that is, to finance private business. Moreover, such a coin should not be controlled by such a social giant as Facebook. This is doubly dangerous.
It would be better if such a coin is issued by one or more states. Such a stable coin will appear vseravno, that's just the question of who will control it.
2360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: if btc drops... on: September 25, 2019, 04:45:19 AM
Currently BTC is up to 10k threshold, altcoin has paid on BTC is decreasing very strong. If BTC continues to dump so hard, altcoin will be even more catastrophic
Today, bitcoin has fallen in price to $ 8,649 and ethereum has also fallen after it to $ 172. Before that, ethereum was growing well in price, despite the fact that Bitcoin stood still. It seemed that this coin was getting out of the price dominance of bitcoin. However, bitcoin collapsed today and ethereum followed. It's sad of course. I would like to see this coin free from the price dominance of bitcoin. I hope this fall will not be too long, the fourth quarter is usually accompanied by the growth of our cryptocurrency.
