241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: August 10, 2016, 08:24:05 PM
Why would you do such thing? It's just one man's opinion. First hand trading (of such level) experience is very interesting and useful information.
Not to mention your post about selling Lisk was more than relevant. Your dump would have sent quite a few people into panic mode when noticed without your post(s).

Anyone complaining about it has no idea about the core group of the Lisk community or your place in it.

Is there an official release date for v 0.3.2?
It should be out in a day or two, after it's been tested on the testnet.

We can name is LiskA ( Lisk Apps ). It's gonna be great!

Good luck with that.
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: July 27, 2016, 02:42:13 PM
Either way good luck finding someone working for free.

Free? Why do anyone creates any application on any platform? Sure, some for hobby, but most to make money. They have an idea, they create it and try to make money with it using various business models.

If they need help, funding, etc, they will make a proposal, a business plan and try to get funding for development in exchange for future profits.
There were many discussions about this and a group of us will be ready to provide funds for good ideas when time comes.

Why not just wait till Lisk reaches a stable version, fork it, and then release your dapp on that new fork?
Lisk doesn't have any dapps right now for anyone to stay on it, so people will jump ship pretty easily.

There is not benefit for a dapp developer to run their own main chain.

Running the Lisk network (or any network for the same code base) costs thousands of dollars every months. It will cost more in time as usage increases. Besides money, it's costs time too.

There is other considerations as well why it would be impractical but that is more than enough reason not to.

245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: July 27, 2016, 02:19:01 PM
I thought that was the reason we gave the Lisk team $10,000,000.
To work on these stuff, if we're doing all that ourselves we better use another currency that we own % of it. I'm not paying someone $10,000,000 and working for him for free.

1. There is no we, you didn't pay the team anything. You bought in at 80k on an exchange as you reminded us many times.
2. We who did invest in the ICO actually read the terms so we knew what we are paying for (btw, it was technically "donating"). And it was not for dapp development. The main job of the core team is to create a solid, stable code base, with the necessary features that make dapp development possible. Making applications and actually using the Lisk network is up to the community. We are the ones who have to develop or at least fund developments.

Poloniex Lisk withdrawal pending status, (5 hours ago) ??  Undecided
Thats weird, I asked for a withdrawal around the same time and got processed in 20 minutes.
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: July 16, 2016, 06:43:48 AM
You guys are talking about logo, and I can't perform simple transfer from Lisk online wallet.
0 confirmations after 20 mins, and looks like the transaction is stuck somehow (keeps appearing and disappearing from the transaction list in the wallet).
So, is this a breakthrough technology or just a crap?
The network is working as it should at the moment, and pretty much since genesis.
You most likely trying to use a node that is not in sync.
Take a look at the "blockchain" tab, if the latest block is not less than <10 sec old, then almost certainly that is the problem.
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: July 16, 2016, 06:39:00 AM
For those that are new here, and got caught up in "change the logo discussion #17":

A quick update regarding your attempts on logos. Smiley

Right now we don't have access to the ICO money. Legally (escrow terms) we can get access to it after the first Lisk block was forged. Due to tax reasons however, we will only have access to it once we registered the Lisk entity as a non-profit organisation. This is a process which still takes several weeks.

Once we have access to the money we will hire a reputable and excellent design agency to do a complete rebranding (logo, website, client, mobile client, media kit, design guidelines) with an even better UX than now. So this is being taken care of! We will come up with a new logo and design.

Thank you for your concerns! Feel free to create a thread on our forum and do brainstorming there. So that the design agency can go there later and maybe get a few ideas.

Thanks! Smiley

They should focus on putting that damn paper out, that's the first thing everyone searches for when taking an interest in a coin. Bugs/patches/etc can come later.
Right now anyone that searches for Lisk white paper is redirected to an empty page.
That's bad, really bad for publicity.

I'd be shocked if any more than 5% of people would be interested in any white paper.
Some people (apparently you are one of them) has a hard-on for them, but the majority not even willing to read the basic facts about a coin if it's more than a few sentences, nevermind the whitepaper.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: July 06, 2016, 02:48:29 PM
In my experience whitepaper is something that none really cares about but if missing some people are always asking for it.

I think it's pretty clear it's all about prioritizing and resource managment. The thing about the whitepaper is someone has to write it. Who?

Oliver can do it, but at the moment he is the only core developer. He has a lot of coding to do. A lot, a lot. Urgent improvements needed, security fixes, forking issues fixed, and about a thousand others. And then we didn't even start talking about future development. Like making Lisk ready for blockchain apps.
He is also moving to another country in two weeks, while doing this.

I prefer that he didn't waste his time on a non consequential white paper instead of doing any of that.

Max can do it (at least from some input for Oliver I assume). He is traveling to conferences, setting up the non-profit organisation, offices, taking care of the hiring process, and I pretty sure a million other things.
The guy don't have enough time to write a blog post about his trip to china.
Should he take a few weeks to write the white paper instead of doing other stuff? I prefer not.

There are probably a few other people who could do it, but they would probably need to consult with Oliver along the way, they'd need to discuss it with Max, etc. It's not worth even this much time, IMHO.

I understand that crypto is like dog years x 100, but have a little patience. The people behind Lisk have a lot to do, chief amongst them is getting more people to those things.

But please remember that they still have no access to ICO funds, because it's not (fully) up to them how soon is the non profit corporation is set up. As soon as they have money, offices, additional staff (and they are up to date), things will start happening much faster.

Putting it simply the foundation is poured, and at the moment we are watching the concrete dry. It's boring as hell, but it's necessary.

If not, then I'll be the first to complain. (I'm having the urge now for a while, but it's pointless, really.)
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: June 26, 2016, 10:41:31 PM
Many articles about Lisk already published by real experts. Please Read & Learn!
You may want to read a little bit more carefully of what you are replying to, because you are making a bit of a fool of yourself.

(hint: he is joking, and talking about Maxes beard, as it was a topic on conversation not long ago)
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: June 22, 2016, 03:55:50 PM
Buying up to 3 million testnet Lisk coins.
Need a huge ammount to test my first daap.

PM me with your offers. Thanks

I can't tell if you are serious.
In case you are, the only way to get that much tesnet lisk is to contact Joel in Lisk chat (or Bigcabrio in here) and ask him.
But I'm pretty sure he will have some questions, and you will have to have very good answers why do you need it, otherwise it will not happen. (I'm not sure that there are good enough answers for this to happen.)
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: June 19, 2016, 09:06:35 AM
Max and his team should make it clear on the website and blog. Lisk is not a fork of eth.
They should also make it clear that Lisk is not a fork of Bitcoin, Litecoin, NXT, XEM,MAID,SC,RAIDs,QORA,Doge,Darkcoin,Dash,Ripple,BitShared.

They should also make it clear that Lisk is not run on POS,POW, gasoline, diesel, magic.
They should also make it clear that Lisk is not supported by the Illuminati, the One Worlds Conspiracy, the Cabal, the Mafia or the US government.

Did I forget something that Max should make clear Lisk is not (connected to)? It could be a long blog post.

anyone received Day 1 Reward...?

There has been no announcements for first day rewards prior to June 19th. That's the official date we're aiming for.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: June 05, 2016, 08:34:48 AM
Maybe somebody can tell me how to create own genesisBlock.json file for lisk thanks ?
Please pm me.

Best,
Gaben

Hi Gaben,

I don't think it's currently possible.

I'm sure it's possible, but it would probably not be as simple as editing a json file.
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: June 02, 2016, 03:49:29 PM
I am interested in supporting such a node ( I own a relatively large amount of lisks- top 40)- but dont have time to read the handbook these days and thus I am not familiar with what it means to support a node etc. / vote / earn from it etc.
Your model of supporting the eco systme sounds great. Can you or someone give a review in a nutshell. thanks
A lot of us who are hoping to be a delegate are planning to do something like this.
There were extensive talks and brainstorming sessions about this issue, in the last month or so but nothing is settled yet.
The goal would be to support Lisk development itself down the road, when ICO funds are running low while also funding  and providing outher support for various blockchain app projects and proposals.

As I said ideas have been discussed and plans drafted, but nothing is finalized yet. I think most serious delegates will pledge some money for one cause or another. As things stand now, there is a good change that much less forged amount will be simply dumped on exchanges every month than you'd think.

Some may choose to decide on a case by case bases what project to support while others will donate to some entity who will manage these affairs. We'll see, interesting times ahead.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: June 01, 2016, 10:30:01 AM
One more time, so you don't forget about me. Smiley

TL;DR: Vote because it's important. Vote vega for delegate, because he is a great guy.

Why should you vote?
Because doing so helps securing the network and within it your own coins. The more people vote the harder it is for a few big whales can seize control of the active delegates. It is in your best interest to help avoid this eventuality. The more diverse the group running the delegates is the best for everyone.

You should take some time and look at the potential delegate so you can make an informed decision who do you want to secure the network for you.

If you don't want to spend time reading hundreds of delegate statements, and research possible candidates, but want to contribute, take a look at my Windows voting tool (See below) here is the lisk.io thread  for it. It's not only makes voting easier and faster, it can recommend you delegates to vote for.
I'm going to keep an up to date list of delegates that I researched, before recommending them. They all been active in the community or contributed someting to the Lisk experience. You can also find me on this list.

Why should you vote for me?
Because I'm a nice guy! But seriously, you should vote for me, and people like me to secure a truly decentralized network. I'm dedicated to this task, I've been running a delegate on the testnet since day one, been always one of the first to update when a new version come out. I also invested great amount of additional time (and money) into the Lisk community, by creating various Windows based tools to help the delegates and Lisk users.
I created a voting tool to help checking the delegates information and casting votes. You can find it here: Windows voting tool lisk.io thread
It's open source and easy to use. I urge anyone and everyone to look at the code. It's written in Autohotkey, that is a purposefully simple syntax language, you can read it easily enough even if you don't know the language (at least well enough to find any shady stuff). There is a compiled version of it on Github for trusted souls, but it's very easy to run AHK script without compiling.

It looks like this:

My other tools are more aimed for delegates to use. A delegate monitor, that shows up to date statistics for the delegate, and alert to changes.
Delegate Monitor

I'm also working on a more serious Lisk node log monitoring tool, that will help delegates avoid potential problems with their nodes and therefore helps to make the Lisk network more stable and dependable.

You can always find me in Lisk Chat if you have a question or comment.

For more Details please see my delegate statement thread.

Vega for Active Delegate

Why doesn't exist a thread for all the delegates looking for votes?
There is a whole sub-forum for it. But you have to get people there somehow.

Any news about a simple windows client? Not that docker-vm-thingy. Just curious.
It's not going to happen in the sort term, I don't thing.
It's not that easy, and there are many more important things to work on at the backend.
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: May 31, 2016, 04:21:08 PM
chain is dead now!! I can't see a block moving since 2 hours!! what a mess
Did you read my post last page?
Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it's not working.
You are probably just watching one node that is not in sync.
