What is sure is that the chance to forge a block when the countdown has not reached zero is very small.

If the deadline is not refreshed after every block, and base target gets bigger than since last refresh, then the chance to forge before countdown reaching zero is pretty big.
I could be wrong of course, but clarification would be welcome eather way.

FIM Version 0.2.2 Released

We have released FIM 0.2.2 which consists of some minor fixes related to unclear wording and some bigger improvements to client.
"Your secret phrase will be sent to the FIM server!"
You should rephrase this, because it gives an impression that it will send the passphrase to a remote server. It could cause confusion.

How about: "You have to provide your secret phrase to refresh!"

1 EXO for 12 976 300 BTC. I'm only selling one for now.

is time to launch this ... make a countdown ...
Not, don't make a countdown. The last time a countdown was involved, thinks got complicated. Smiley

Just keep working, and take care announcing decisions, communicate them well, and everything will be all right. Launch when you are read.

With 30k you will forge a block every 4 days on avarage.

What is the formula you are using to calculate this?

It was a WAG actually, but looks accurate. (with 100% base target)

333000000 / 2880 = 115625 (all available coins / blocks per day)
(30000 * 1) / 115625 = 0,259 (your coins * block target = how many block per day)

This is not accurate, because numbers are changing. Coin supply increasing, in reallity there is less then 2880 blocks per day, and the base target depends on how many coins are forging any given moment.

I see lots of people posting about how happy they are with the forging. I have been forging from the beginning and so far have not gotten a single block reward. My balance (now split over two forging accounts) amounts to over 30,000 FIM.

I think some selling is good.  FIM is new and it's good for it to change hands and acquire new stakeholders.

So far FIM has been much more fun than NXT b/c I'm mining/forging a fair amount of block rewards.  I'm holding long-term.

Agreed, if everyone holds, the coin is worthess. Distribution to new ppl is essential, but I don't think its going to happen on dgex. Mostly just existing shareholders increasing their stake, while others dumping.
This current price is because there are not many (if any) new buyers on dgex, so dumpers paniced and selling for lower then the starting price for FIM should be. Their loss, others gain.

How is it so undervalued already Cheesy
Some people are happy with a quick 2-3x profit.  They are selling now.
Not sure many understand the economics of block rewards yet.  Great time to buy!
The funny thing is they won't make 2-3x profit. Volume was really low, no buy pressure, so price gone down to 0.000002 and below, while they payed 0.0000016 for it at IPO.

It looks like implication of the reward system really didn't sink in for some.

Price is really at the bottom, I mean there is almost no ROI for the investors. In this case I'm going to buy some more Fimk. Cheesy
It's really nice of them. Keep dumping please, I have nice buy orders at 0.000002. Smiley

Don't forget that most dgex users that are interested are already bought into IPO. No wonder there is no buying pressure there.

I don't think this was answered:
Is the previosly announced 10% per day penalty enforced?
If so, what happens with the coins from the penalised accounts?

Here I have already answered
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=590421.msg7627787#msg7627787

Currently nobody has been penalized

A few points.
1. Please, please take a little extra time to properly form sentences when answering important questions. The linked reply is barely coherent. I know it's not easy, english not my first language either. This level of communication not good enough from a developer, and hurts the coin.
2. So that penalty rule got overturned after two days? You have to stop this, seriously.
3. You said that the penalty will still apply for some accounts. What happens with those coins? Also, by penalizing some accounts and not others willl just opens the door for more problems. There were a clear cut off point previously, now their is not.

493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: July 02, 2014, 08:53:52 PM
The only time you should need your password is when creating a transaction. At which point the client already knows the account number, so it can verify they match and explain exactly what has happened if they don't. If you must, at this point have the option to remember the password for the session.

Ideally the login screen would remember the last used account number, so you wouldn't actually have to type it. Better still, remember the last few accounts and let the user pick one from a list. Better still, have the screen show useful summary information about the known accounts right from the start: individual balances, plus total balance for all accounts, etc. Most people have more than one Nxt account so multiple accounts ought to be easier to manage.

This is a very good idea. I routinely type random stuff just to get to the UI, and when I want my own account data it's simpler and more secure to check nxtreporting.
It would be great just to type (or select) my address and see my account information. It's enough to provide the passhpase when needed for a transaction, or start forging.
An indicator that shows if an account forges or not would be great. (But I don't think API supports this) If the account not forging the client can ask to log in.

I'm wondering how the forging reward will chance trading practices. With Nxt there are huge exchange wallets, tens of millions of coins for the bigger ones.
With FIMK there is a big incentive not to keep coins on exchange accounts.

Of course this depends on how exhanges will treat the forging earnings, but I don't see them distributing it. But at least fees should be nonexistent, the exchange could still make serious money by forging.

Thanks! (Another forum that I'll need to follow. Sigh.)

I was right this will do interesting things for the price.
If someone buys 1 million now, gets at least 630k in rewards in one years time. Thats huge.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FIMKrypto: NXT spinoff 30s blocks, POW-like rewards, national income *FIMK on: July 02, 2014, 02:00:11 PM
Jep it is. But don't forget that the amount of available Fimk is currently 333 million, not 1 billion and during the IPO more than 500 btc have been gathered, so investors won't sell low to have ROI.

It will be interesting to watch how the price develops. With only 333 million available and the reward system giving out coin for forging, there is actually an incentive to buy in early. The forging return is quite nice. Someone should make some calculations.
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Sia: Siacoin (scn) and Siastock (stk) on: July 01, 2014, 09:39:45 PM
So I wonder if there will ever be legal repercussions for the people sharing disk space for this coin.

What happens if/when a child porn ring starts using this coin to store imgs? It would mean anyone sharing disk space for this coin could possibly be arrested and tried for possessing child porn.

If i understand this correctly there will be no way to know what do you store on your computer, it's encrypted. It will not even be full files, just pieces of data.

btw, this is a much more relevant question with some other crypto currencies
If a crypto currency allows anyone to send messages or comments what happens when someone sends the data of a child porn pic as messages, comments? Then technically anyone who stores the blochain posesses that picture.

This is why it is a very bad idea to make posession of any information or data illegal. In the near future there will be some serious problems with this.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AИN] NODE aka NXTLite - Puppet Removal has began! on: July 01, 2014, 09:27:20 PM
Or are you saying that 10% daily penalty is no longer valid and every user that is late in creating their address will get their full stake once they ask for it ?
I'm sure that's what they saying, because that would mean contradicting 5 previous announcements. That is standard practice now. Smiley
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AИN] NODE aka NXTLite - Puppet Removal has began! on: June 30, 2014, 10:16:47 PM
I have to agree with everyone, this second auction is very bad form. You should just increase the stakes.
This is not your first bad public relation blunder nor the second or third.
You seriously need to learn to stick with your original plan, even if it's not the most beneficial for you at the moment. In the long run it will be better for everyone.

I also hope someone from the community will pick up marketing and PR job for the coin after launch, because you really suck at this. No shame in it, there are very few people who can create a great coin, and very few who can successfully promote one. Those who are really good at both are almost nonexistent. So if you just great at coding, everything will be alright. Just find someone who is good at communicating.
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT cross chain transaction 3M to 5M bounty on: June 30, 2014, 09:01:39 AM
My bounty is still active.
What is your connection with NXT if you don't mind me asking?
Also, was proof of that much NXT posted somewhere?

http://www.nxtexplorer.com/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=3000&acc=4747512364439223888
His name is the first four and last three digits of his Nxt account number. At some point he posted token to prove ownership. (You can look up his post.)

nxtforum would be a better idea imho
